1Integrated transcriptomics and metabolomics analyses provide insights into cold stress response in wheat显示文摘Cold tolerance of crop plants influences survival and productivity under low-temperature conditions. Elucidation of molecular mechanisms underlying low temperature tolerance could be helpful in breeding. In this study, we used integrated transcriptomics and metabolomics analyses to investigate changes in gene/metabolite activity in a winter-hardy wheat cultivar of(cv. Jing 411) when subjected to sold stress. The 223 metabolites mainly enriched during cold acclimation included carbohydrates, flavonoids, and amino acids.Eight common metabolites had altered abundance following freezing treatment;six increased and two decreased. Transcriptome analysis revealed that 29,066 genes were differentially expressed in wheat crowns after cold acclimation compared to the nonacclimated control. Among them, 745 genes were up-regulated following freezing treatment, suggesting substantial change in expression of a large quantity of genes upon cold acclimation and freezing treatment, which impacts on the modified metabolites.Integrated analysis of gene expression and metabolite profiles revealed that the abscisic acid(ABA)/jasmonic acid(JA) phytohormone signaling and proline biosynthesis pathways were significantly modulated under cold acclimation and freezing treatments. Our results indicated that low-temperature stress induced substantial changes in both transcriptomes and metabolomes. 3Diversity and connectedness of brine shrimp viruses in global hypersaline ecosystems显示文摘Brine shrimp(Artemia)has existed on Earth for 400 million years and has major ecological importance in hypersaline ecosystems.As a crucial live food in aquaculture,brine shrimp cysts have become one of the most important aquatic products traded worldwide.However,our understanding of the biodiversity,prevalence and global connectedness of viruses in brine shrimp is still very limited.A total of 143 batches of brine shrimp(belonging to seven species)cysts were collected from six continents including 21 countries and more than 100 geographic locations worldwide during 1977–2019.In total,55 novel RNA viruses were identified,which could be assigned to 18 different viral families and related clades.Eleven viruses were dsRNA viruses,16 were+ssRNA viruses,and 28 were−ssRNA viruses.Phylogenetic analyses of the RNA-directed RNA polymerase(RdRp)showed that brine shrimp viruses were often grouped with viruses isolated from other invertebrates and fungi.Remarkably,most brine shrimp viruses were related to those from different hosts that might feed on brine shrimp or share the same ecological niche.A notable case was the novel brine shrimp noda-like virus 3,which shared 79.25%(RdRp)and 63.88%(capsid proteins)amino acid identity with covert mortality nodavirus(CMNV)that may cause losses in aquaculture.In addition,both virome composition and phylogenetic analyses revealed global connectedness in certain brine shrimp viruses,particularly among Asia and Northern America.This highlights the incredible species diversity of viruses in these ancient species and provides essential data for the prevalence of RNA viruses in the global aquaculture industry.More broadly,these findings provide novel insights into the previously unrecognized RNA virosphere in hypersaline ecosystems worldwide and demonstrate that human activity might have driven the global connectedness of brine shrimp viruses.Xuan Dong Cixiu Li Yiting Wang Tao Hu Fan Zhang Fanzeng Meng Meirong Gao Xuekai Han Guohao Wang Jiahao Qin Hans Nauwynck Edward CHolmes Patrick Sorgeloos Liying Sui Jie Huang Weifeng Shi 2024Science China(Life Sciences)2024,67,1:0
4Effects of cementation on physical properties of clastic rock-originated weathering crust reservoirs in the Kexia region,Junggar Basin,NW China显示文摘Cements are widely developed in clastic rock-originated weathering crust(CWC)reservoirs in the Kexia region along the northwestern margin of the Junggar Basin and significantly affect reservoir physical properties and oil and gas distribution in this area.Focusing on the CWC reservoirs at the top of both the Permian Jiamuhe Formation and the Triassic Karamay Formation,this study analyzed the types and characteristics of cements in the reservoirs and explored their effects on reservoir physical properties based on thin sections,SEM images,XRD results,and tests of physical properties.The main results are as follows.The cements in the CWC reservoirs in Kexia region mainly consist of carbonate minerals(41.5%),clay minerals(27.8%)and zeolite minerals(30%),as well as small amount of siliceous minerals.Among them,the carbonate minerals are dominated by siderite and calcite,the clay minerals mainly include kaolinite,interstratified illite/smectite(I/S)and chlorite,and the zeolite minerals primarily comprise heulandite and laumontite.These different types of multiphase cements are generally paragenetic or associated and affect reservoir physical properties to different degrees.Specifically,the carbonate and clay cements of the early diagenetic stage reduced the reservoirs’average porosity from 21%to 15%.The dissolution of some carbonate and zeolite cements in the early A substage of the middle diagenetic stage restored the average porosity to 18%,and the cementation in the late A substage decreased the average porosity to 13%again,of which about 4%was reduced by carbonate cements.The average porosity of the CWC reservoirs gradually decreased to the current value of approximately 10%in the B substage of the middle diagenetic stage.The impact of cementation on the CWC reservoirs can reach as far as 70 m below the unconformity.Moreover,the types and contents of cements vary with their depth below the unconformity surface,leading to the development of multiple zones with high cement content and the differentiated oil and gas distribution.Changhai Gao Shida Meng Jiahao Zhang Jian Wang Yifei Sun 2023Energy Geoscience2023,4,1:0
5Acid-Stable CoWO_(4)/WO_(3)-Microrod Coated by a Thin Carbon-Layer as Efficient Pt Co-Catalysts for Methanol Oxidation and Oxygen Reduction显示文摘Insufficient activity and instability(poisoning)of Pt-based electrocatalysts for methanol oxidation and oxygen reduction reactions(MOR/ORR)impede the development of direct methanol fuel cells.Here,CoWO_(4) nanoparticles-loaded WO_(3) microrods coated by a thin carbon-layer are used as Pt-supports/co-catalysts for MOR/ORR.WO_(3) grows along the(110)crystal plane to form microrod(diameter of~0.6 um),which is coated by a carbon-layer(~5 nm).Pt-CoWO_(4)/WO_(3)@NCL-mr(850℃)shows a higher mass activity(2208 mA mg^(-1)_(pt))than the commercial Pt/C(659.4 mA mg^(-1)_(pt)).CoWO_(4)/WO_(3) heterojunction on the microrod surface with abundant oxygen vacancies allows the generation of surface-adsorbed hydroxyl to facilitate CO elimination and regeneration of the occupied Pt active-sites(promising stability).PtCo WO_(4)/WO_(3)@NCL-mr(850℃)has higher half-wave(0.46 V)and onset(0.54 V)potentials than Pt/C(0.41 and 0.50 V)for ORR.The microrod structure of Co WO_(4)/WO_(3)@NCL facilitates the dispersibility of Pt NPs to increase the utilization of Pt active sites and relieve the self-aggregation of Pt to obtain a promising synergy between Pt and CoWO_(4)(Co^(2+))for ORR in acid media.This study provides insights not only into the synthesis of acid-resistant WO_(3)@NCL microrod as active Pt co-catalyst,but also into the effective utilization of surface oxygen vacancies and Co^(2+) for MOR/ORR.Jiahuan Li Jiahao Xie Xinyu Wang Ying Dai Xiaoqin Xu Jin Liu Zhuang Cai Xin Meng Jinlong Zou 2022Chinese Journal of Structural Chemistry2022,41,7:0

7In-depth analysis of core-shell filaments in nonvolatile NbO_(x) memristive device as an artificial synapse for multifunctional bionic applications显示文摘As a key building block of the biological cortex,synapses are powerful information processing units that enable highly complex nonlinear computations.The realization of artificial synapses with similar capabilities has important implications for building intelligent,neuromorphic systems.Here,we demonstrate an artificial synapse based on NbO_(x) nonvolatile memristor to mimic multifunctional bionic applications such as nociceptor and associative learning.Combined experimental characterization with COMSOL simulation,the traditional resistance switching characteristics,which are the decisive factor for the synapse properties are in-depth analyzed.It can be proposed that the I-V characteristics of Pt/NbO_(x)/TiN memristor are governed by core-shell filaments consisting of the shell region of sub-stoichiometric Nb_(2)O_(5-δ)and the core of NbO_(2).On the basis of the core-shell filament model,it can be reasonably explained that Ohmic conduction and Poole-Frenkel conduction take turns to dominate the current flowing in the memristive device,leading to the zigzag evolution of current during the operation process of NbO_(x)-based device.The simulations of synaptic plasticity,including long-term potentiation/depression(LTP/LTD),paired-pulse facilitation(PPF),and spike-timing-dependent plasticity(STDP),exhibiting that the NbO_(x) can be utilized for an artificial synapse.Furthermore,bionic functions such as hyperalgesia and allodynia of a nociceptor and a series of associative learning behaviors in Pavlovian dog experiment are mimicked,illustrating that the Pt/NbO_(x)/TiN have great potential for highly simplified artificial neural network applications.JIANG Bei KE ShanWu TAO ZiPei JIN YaoYao MENG JiaHao SONG XingJuan XIAO YongYue JIANG Li WANG JinZhao CHEN Yong LI YueBin WEN Xin YE Cong 2023Science China(Technological Sciences)2023,66,12:0
8Intrinsically flexible all-carbon-nanotube electronics enabled by a hybrid organic-inorganic gate dielectric显示文摘The advancement of Internet of Things has stimulated huge demands on low-voltage flexible electronics.Carbon-nanotube(CNT)-based electronics are of great promise to this end for their intrinsic flexibility,high carrier mobility,and capability to synthesize as semiconducting or metallic to serve as the channels,electrodes,and interconnects of circuits.However,the gate dielectric often has to adopt brittle oxides,which can seriously limit the device flexibility.Herein,we show that a hybrid polyimide-Al2O3 material can serve as a good gate dielectric to realize truly intrinsic flexibility of transistors and circuits based on CNTs.With this hybrid dielectric,high-performance all-CNT transistors and integrated circuits of inverters,ring oscillators,and logic gates are demonstrated.Particularly,the inverters exhibit a remarkably high gain of 342.5 and can be used as an analog amplifier for millivolt small signals.Ultralow voltage(50 mV)operation is also feasible,which highlights the great promise for low-power applications.Qiuyue Huang Jialiang Wang Chenglin Li Jiahao Zhu Wanting Wang Youchao Huang Yiming Zhang Hailong Jiao Shengdong Zhang Hong Meng Min Zhang Xinwei Wang 2022npj Flexible Electronics2022,6,1:0
9Adsorption and desorption behavior under coal–water–gas coupling conditions of high- and low-rank coal samples显示文摘High-and low-rank coalbed methane(CBM)are both important fields of CBM development in China,but their formation and production mechanisms differ considerably.The adsorption/desorption behavior of high-and low-rank coals under the coupling of coal–water–gas was investigated using two series of samples.Coal samples from Zhangjiamao(ZJM)coal mine,Ordos basin,and Sihe(SH)coal mine,Qinshui basin,were tested by isothermal adsorption–desorption experiment,natural imbibition experiment,nuclear magnetic resonance,mercury injection porosimetry,contact angle test,and permeability test.Isothermal adsorption and desorption experiments under dry,equilibrium water,and saturated water,were performed to explore the differences between the adsorption and desorption characteristics.The results show that the wettability and permeability of the ZJM low-rank coal sample was considerably higher than that of the SH high-rank coal sample.The imbibition process of the ZJM sample exhibited a high imbibition rate and high total-imbibition volume,whereas the SH sample exhibited a slow imbibition rate and low total-imbibition volume.The ZJM sample had a complex pore structure and diverse pore-size distribution with a lower mercury withdrawal efficiency at 59.60%,whereas the SH sample had a relatively uniform pore-size distribution with a higher mercury withdrawal efficiency at 97.62%.The response of adsorption and desorption of the ZJM sample to water was more significant than that of the SH sample.The desorption hysteresis of the ZJM sample was stronger than that of the SH sample and was more prominently affected by water,which was consistent with its strong wettability and complex pore-throat configuration.A comprehensive adsorption and desorption mode was constructed for high-and low-rank coal samples under coal–water–gas coupling condition.The research results are important to enrich the geological theory of high-and low-rank CBM and to guide efficient CBM recovery.Chen GUO Jiang GOU Dongmin MA Yuan BAO Qingmin SHI Jiahao MENG Junzhe GAO Lingling LU 2023Frontiers of Earth Science2023,17,1:0
