| 1 | Enhanced anti-sunward flow near local noon during a period of horizontal IMF and high solar wind velocity V_Y显示文摘It is believed that a southward interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) is mainly responsible for the energy input from solar wind into the magnetosphere.This paper presents an unusual case of strong anti-sunward plasma flow (up to 2 km/s) in the polar cap ionosphere and large cross-polar cap potential (CPCP) during a period of horizontal IMF (|BZ| < 2 nT) observed by both ACE (at the L1 point) and Geotail (on the dusk flank of the magnetosheath).The CPCP is even higher than that under preceding BZ ≈-23 nT.Furthermore,GOES8 observed that the magnetosheath field turns northward as the anti-sunward plasma flow and CPCP start to increase,which implies that the magnetosheath field interacting with the Earth's magnetopause has significantly rotated and differs from the IMF observed by ACE and Geotail.In accordance with previous theoretical work,we suggest that the magnetic field line draping produces a southward magnetosheath field and enhances anti-sunward plasma flow and the CPCP. | WEI Yong ZONG QiuGang PU ZuYin WAN WeiXing LIU JianJun FU SuiYan SHI QuanQi | 2011 | Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,11: | 7 |

| 3 | Multivariate coupling mechanism of NOCTUIDAE moth wings' surface superhydrophobicity显示文摘The surface shape, structure, biomaterial and wettability of moth wings (10 NOCTUIDAE species) from the northeast region of China were qualitatively and quantitatively studied by means of a stereoscopic microscope, a scanning electronic microscope, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR) and the interface contact angle measurement. The observation shows that there are scales arranged like over-lapping tiles on the surface of the moth wings. The shapes of the scales are different between species. They overlap horizontally and there is particular space vertically in the direction of the wing veins. The surface of the scale is structured by micron-class grooves and nanometer-class vertical gibbosities. The biomaterial components of the moth wing scale are mostly made up of protein, lipids and chitin. The observation also shows that the contact angle for wings with scales is in the range from 144.8° to 152.9°, while that for those without scales is from 90.0° to 115.9°. It indicates that the surfaces of the wings with scales are more hydrophobic. According as Cassie model, the equation of wettability on the NOCTUIDAE moth wing surface is established and the hydrophobic mechanism is analyzed. | 4 | Construction of three-dimensional hierarchical porous nitrogen-doped re duce d graphene oxide/hollow cobalt ferrite composite aerogels toward highly efficient electromagnetic wave absorption显示文摘The development of graphene-based composites with low density,robust absorption,wide bandwidth and thin thickness remained a great challenge in the field of electromagnetic(EM)absorption.In this work,nitrogen-doped reduced graphene oxide/hollow cobalt ferrite(NRGO/hollow CoFe_(2)O_(4))composite aerogels were constructed by a solvothermal and hydrothermal two-step route.Results demonstrated that the as-fabricated composite aerogels had the ultralow density and a unique three-dimensional(3D)network structure,and lots of hollow CoFe_(2)O_(4)microspheres were almost homogeneously distributed on the wrinkled surfaces of lamellar NRGO.Moreover,superior EM absorbing capacity could be achieved by modulating the ferrite structure,addition amounts of hollow CoFe_(2)O_(4)and thicknesses.It was noteworthy that the NRGO/hollow CoFe_(2)O_(4)composite aerogel with the addition amount of ferrite of 15.0 mg pos-sessed the minimum reflection loss of-44.7 dB and maximum absorption bandwidth of 5.2 GHz(from 12.6 to 17.8 GHz)at a very thin thickness of 1.8 mm and filling ratio of 15.0 wt.%.Furthermore,the possible EM attenuation mechanism had been proposed.The results of this work would be helpful for developing RGO-based 3D composites as lightweight,thin and highly efficient EM wave absorbers. | Jing Xu Ruiwen Shu Zongli Wan Jianjun Shi | 2023 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,1: | 4 |
