| 3 | 120 mm Single-crystalline perovskite and wafers: towards viable applications显示文摘As the large single-crystalline silicon wafers have revolutionized many industries including electronics and solar cells, it is envisioned that the availability of large single-crystalline perovskite crystals and wafers will revolutionize its broad applications in photovoltaics, optoelectronics, lasers, photodetectors, light emitting diodes(LEDs), etc. Here we report a method to grow large single-crystalline perovskites including single-halide crystals: CH3NH3PbX3(X=I, Br, Cl), and dual-halide ones:CH3NH3Pb(ClxBr1.x)3 and CH3NH3Pb(BrxI1.x)3, with the largest crystal being 120 mm in length. Meanwhile, we have advanced a process to slice the large perovskite crystals into thin wafers. It is found that the wafers exhibit remarkable features:(1)its trap-state density is a million times smaller than that in the microcrystalline perovskite thin films(MPTF);(2) its carrier mobility is 410 times higher than its most popular organic counterpart P3HT;(3) its optical absorption is expanded to as high as910 nm comparing to 797 nm for the MPTF;(4) while MPTF decomposes at 150 °C, the wafer is stable at high temperature up to270 °C;(5) when exposed to high humidity(75% RH), MPTF decomposes in 5 h while the wafer shows no change for overnight;(6) its photocurrent response is 250 times higher than its MPTF counterpart. A few electronic devices have been fabricated using the crystalline wafers. Among them, the Hall test gives low carrier concentration with high mobility. The trap-state density is measured much lower than common semiconductors. Moreover, the large SC-wafer is found particularly useful for mass production of integrated circuits. By adjusting the halide composition, both the optical absorption and the light emission can be fine-tuned across the entire visible spectrum from 400 nm to 800 nm. It is envisioned that a range of visible lasers and LEDs may be developed using the dual-halide perovskites. | 4 | Systematic Characterization of Long Non-Coding RNAs and Their Responses to Drought Stress in Dongxiang Wild Rice显示文摘Long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs) play important roles in response to various biotic and abiotic stresses. So far, systematic identification and characterization of lncRNAs have been reported in a few model plant species and major crops, but their roles in abiotic stress response have not yet been reported in common wild rice(Oryza rufipogon). Dongxiang wild rice(DXWR) possesses a high degree of drought resistance and has been well recognized as a precious genetic resource for drought resistant rice breeding. We presented the reference catalog of 1 655 novel lncRNA transcripts in DXWR using strand-specific RNA sequencing and bioinformatics approaches. Meanwhile, a total of 1092 lncRNAs were determined as differentially expressed lncRNAs under drought stress. Quantitative real-time PCR results exhibited a high concordance with RNA sequencing data, which confirmed that the expression patterns of lncRNAs based on RNA sequencing were highly reliable. Furthermore, 8 711 transcripts were predicted as target genes of the differentially expressed lncRNAs. Functional annotation analysis based on Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes databases showed that the target genes were significantly enriched in cellular and metabolic processes, cell part, binding and plant hormone signal transduction, as well as many other terms related to abiotic stress resistance. | 8 | Eco-friendly biodegradable polyurethane based coating for antibacterial and antifouling performance显示文摘Biofouling, which comprises the absorption of proteins and the adhesion of bacteria to the surface of living entities, is a severe concern for the maritime sector since it ultimately leads to hydrodynamic drag,resulting in a higher increase in fuel consumption. As a result, polymer resins are crucial in the marine sector for anti-biofouling coatings. In this work, the poly(caprolactone-ethylene glycol-caprolactone)-p olyurethane(PECL-PU) are prepared through ε-caprolactone(CL), poly(ethylene glycol)(PEG), 4,4'-methylene bis(cyclohexyl isocyanate) and 1,4 butanediol. Our study demonstrate that the PECL-PU copolymer degraded in artificial seawater(5.21%), enzymatic solution(12.63%), and seawater(13.75%)due to the presence of PEG segments in the laboratory-based test under static condition. Because the addition of PEG segments are increased the polymer's amorphous area and decreased the crystallization of the polycaprolactone(PCL) in the copolymer, as demonstrated by differential scanning calorimetry, X-ray diffraction, and water contact angle studies. Therefore, the hydrolysis rates of PECL-PU were higher than the caprolactone-co-polyurethane(CL-PU). The antifouling test showed that PECL-PU3 copolymer had about 90.29% protein resistance, 85.2% Escherichia coli(E. coli) reduction and 94.61% marine diatom Navicula incerta reduction comparison to the control. In a one dimensional frost heave test, the deformation in axial direction is non-uniform because of the confining effect of the cutting ring's sidewall. If the effect of confining boundary on soil deformation is ignored, the deformation will be over-estimated. In this paper, the effect of confining boundary on soil deformation is theoretically studied and a volume correction method is developed and applied to the frost heave test of a sulfite saline soil. In this paper, we provide a review of current all-optical logic devices. The logic gates in these devices, which are described in the first part of the review, are divided into five categories based on the different principles used in their realization. Complex optical devices with various functions and reconfigurable devices are summarized in the next section. In the final part of this paper, we discuss some of the previous works on all-optical integrated chips with specific functions. | 17 | Intracellular distribution and internalization pathways of guanidinylated bioresponsive poly(amido amine)s in gene delivery显示文摘Guanidinylated bioresponsive poly(amido amine)s polymers, CAR-CBA and CHL-CBA, weresynthesized by Michael-type addition reaction between guanidine hydrochloride(CAR) orchlorhexidine(CHL) and N,N-cystaminebisacrylamide(CBA). Previous studies have shownthat both polymers had high transfection efficiencies as gene delivery carriers. In this study,we investigated the nucleolus localization abilities and cellular internalization pathways ofthese two polymers in gene delivery. Each polymer condensed plasmid DNA(p DNA) andformed nanoparticle complexes, and then their transfection studies were performed inMCF-7 cells. Both complexes were found enriched in nucleolus after cellular transfection,and their transfection efficiencies were significantly improved when transfection was per-formed on MCF-7 cells arrested at M phase. The transfection efficiency of CAR-CBA-pDNAwas inhibited by chlorpromazine, and cell endosomes were disrupted after being exposedto CAR-CBA-pDNA. In regards to CHL-CBA-pDNA, its transfection efficiency was not affected by three types of endocytosis inhibitors used in the study, and CHL-CBA-pDNA showed no effect on endosomes. Cellular lactate dehydrogenase release and membrane morphology were changed after cells were transfected by the two complexes. The results indicated that both CAR-CBA and CHL-CBA polymers demonstrated good nucleolus localization abilities. It was beneficial for transfection when cells were arrested at M phase.
