| 1 | ADAMTS-7 promotes vascular smooth muscle cells proliferation in vitro and in vivo显示文摘Vascular smooth muscle cell(VSMC) proliferation and migration are pivotal for the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and post-angioplasty restenosis. We have recently reported that a disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs-7(ADAMTS-7), a novel metalloproteinase, contributes directly to neointima formation by mediating VSMC migration. However, whether ADAMTS-7 affects VSMC proliferation remains unclear. In this study, we found that luminal adenoviral delivery of ADAMTS-7 aggravated intimal hyperplasia 7 d after injury, paralleled by an increased percentage of PCNA-positive cells in both intima and media. In contrast, perivascular administration of ADAMTS-7 si RNA, but not scrambled si RNA to injured arteries attenuated intimal thickening at day 7, paralleled with reduced intimal VSMC replication, without alteration of VSMC proliferation in the media. In accordance, [3H]-thymidine incorporation assay in primary cultured rat VSMCs revealed an enhanced replication rate(by 61%) upon ADAMTS-7 overexpression and retarded proliferation(by 23%) upon ADAMTS-7 si RNA administration. Our data demonstrates that ADAMTS-7 promotes VSMC proliferation both in vitro and in vivo. | 3 | Synthesis and characterization of BaMgAl_(10)O_(17):Eu~(2+)phosphor prepared by homogeneous precipitation显示文摘A homogeneous precipitation process based on urea hydrolysis reaction was exploited to synthesize BaMgAl10O17:Eu2+phosphor.The process parameters,such as the dosage of urea,the calcination temperatures and the concentration of Eu2+,were refined in light of the characterization of the products.The experimental results revealed that pure and well-crystallized BaMgAl10O17:Eu2+phosphor could be obtained at 1250℃,a much lower temperature than that for traditional solid-state reaction.The as-prepared phosphor particles were small in grain size,regular in morphology,and uniform in size distribution.Because of the high homogeneity of the process,the as-prepared phosphor exhibited stronger emission intensity and higher thermal stability than the sample prepared by solid-state reaction at 1600℃. | ZhanhuiZhang Jingang Feng Zhiliang Huang | 2010 | Particuology2010,8,5: | 1 |

| 6 | Comparative study of the stoichiometric characteristics of karst and non-karst forests in Guizhou, China显示文摘Carbon (C), nitrogen (N), and phosphorous (P) levels and their stoichiometry in plant components (leaves, branch trunks, roots) of trees in a karst forest and non-karst forest are compared. The results show that the C contents, C:N and C:P ratios of dominant species in the karst forest were lower than those in the non-karst forest, but the N and P and the N:P ratio were higher;C:N:P ratios in plant organs of trees in the karst forest were in the order of trunks>roots>branches>leaves. However, C:N:P ratio in the non-karst forest trees were trunks>branches>roots>leaves. Moreover, ratio of C:N:P in trunks was highest and lowest in leaves in both forests. In non-karst forest trees, N:P was in the order of leaves> roots>branches>trunks. There were no significant differences in the ratio of N:P in different plant components of trees in the karst forest. However, in karst and non-karst forest trees, the ratio of N:P in leaves was highest;positive correlations between N and P contents, and N and N:P ratios were observed in both karst and non-karst forests (p<0.001). | 9 | Machine learning enabled prediction and process optimization of VFA production from riboflavin-mediated sludge fermentation显示文摘Riboflavin is a redox mediator that promotes volatile fatty acids(VFAs)production from waste activated sludge(WAS)and is a promising method for WAS reuse.However,time-and labor-consuming experiments challenge obtaining optimal operating conditions for maximal VFA production.In this study,three machine learning(ML)models were developed to predict the VFAs production from riboflavin-mediated WAS fermentation systems.Among the three tested ML algorithms,eXtreme Gradient Boosting(XGBoost)presented the best prediction performance and excellent generalization ability,with the highest testing coefficient of determination(R^(2)of 0.93)and lowest root mean square error(RMSE of 0.070).Feature importance analysis and their interactions using the Shepley Additive Explanations(SHAP)method indicated that pH and soluble protein were the top two input features for the modeling.The intrinsic correlations between input features and microbial communities corroborated this deduction.On the optimized ML model,genetic algorithm(GA)and particle swarm optimization(PSO)solved the optimal solution of VFA output,predicting the maximum VFA output as 650 mg COD/g VSS.This study provided a data-driven approach to predict and optimize VFA production from riboflavin-mediated WAS fermentation. | Weishuai Li Jingang Huang Zhuoer Shi Wei Han Ting Lü Yuanyuan Lin Jianfang Meng Xiaobing Xu Pingzhi Hou | 2023 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2023,17,11: | 0 |
