3Comparison of dynamic adsorption/desorption characteristics of toluene on different porous materials显示文摘Four different types of adsorbents, SBA-15, MCM-41, NaY and SiO2, were used to study the dynamic adsorption/desorption of toluene. To further investigate the influence of pore structure on its adsorption performance, two SBA-15 samples with different microspores were also selected. It is shown that microporous material NaY has the largest adsorption capacity of 0.2873 mL/g, and the amorphous SiO2 exhibits the least capacity of 0.1003 mL/g. MCM-41 also shows a lower break through capacity in spite of the relatively small pore diameter, because it can not provide the necessary small geometric confinement for the tiny adsorbates. However, the mesoporous SBA-15 silica with certain micropore volume shows relatively higher adsorption capacity than that of MCM-41 silica. The presence of micropores directly leads to an increase in the dynamic adsorption capacity of toluene. Although NaY has the highest adsorption capacity for toluene, its complete desorption temperature for toluene is high (> 350°C), which limits its wide application. On the contrary, mesoporous silica materials exhibits a good desorption performance for volatile organic compounds at lower temperatures. Among these materials mesoporous SBA-15 samples, with a larger amount micropores and a lower desorption temperature, are a potentially interesting adsorbent for the removal of volatile organic compounds. 6Chemical characteristics of size-resolved aerosols in winter in Beijing显示文摘Size-resolved aerosols were continuously collected by a Nano Sampler for 13 days at an urban site in Beijing during winter 2012 to measure the chemical composition of ambient aerosol particles. Data collected by the Nano Sampler and an ACSM(Aerodyne Aerosol Chemical Speciation Monitor) were compared. Between the data sets,similar trends and strong correlations were observed,demonstrating the validity of the Nano Sampler. PM10 and PM2.5concentrations during the measurement were 150.5 ± 96.0 μg/m3(mean ± standard variation)and 106.9 ± 71.6 μg/m3,respectively. The PM2.5/PM10 ratio was 0.70 ± 0.10,indicating that PM2.5dominated PM10. The aerosol size distributions showed that three size bins of 0.5–1,1–2.5 and 2.5–10 μm contributed 21.8%,23.3% and 26.0% to the total mass concentration(TMC),respectively. OM(organic matter) and SIA(secondary ionic aerosol,mainly SO42-,NO3-and NH4+) were major components of PM2.5. Secondary compounds(SIA and secondary organic carbon) accounted for half of TMC(about 49.8%) in PM2.5,and suggested that secondary aerosols significantly contributed to the serious particulate matter pollution observed in winter. Coal burning,biomass combustion,vehicle emissions and SIA were found to be the main sources of PM2.5. 7Four Closely-related RING-type E3 Ligases,APD1-4,are Involved in Pollen Mitosis II Regulation in Arabidopsis显示文摘Ubiquitination of proteins is one of the critical regulatory mechanisms in eukaryotes.In higher plants,protein ubiquitination plays an essential role in many biological processes,including hormone signaling,photomorphogenesis,and pathogen defense.However,the roles of protein ubiquitination in the repro-ductive process are not clear.In this study,we identified four plant-specific RING-finger genes designated Aberrant Pollen Development 1 (APD1) to APD4,as regulators of pollen mitosis Ⅱ (PMⅡ) in Arabidopsis thaliana (L.).The apd1 apd2 double mutant showed a significantly increased percentage of bicellular-like pollen at the mature pollen stage.Further downregulation of the APD3 and APD4 transcripts in apd1 apd2 by RNA interference (RNAi) resulted in more severe abnormal bicellular-like pollen phenotypes than in apd1 apd2,suggesting that cell division was defective in male gametogenesis.All of the four genes were expressed in multiple stages at different levels during male gametophyte development.Confocal analysis using green florescence fusion proteins (GFP) GFP-APD1 and GFP-APD2 showed that APDs are associated with intracellular membranes.Furthermore,APD2 had E2-dependent E3 ligase activity in vitro,and five APD2-interacting proteins were identified.Our results suggest that these four genes may be involved,redundantly,in regulating the PMⅡ process during male gametogenesis.Guo Luo Hongya Gu Jingjing Liu Li-Jia Qu 2012Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2012,54,10:8

10The Arabidopsis Anaphase-Promoting Complex/Cyclosome Subunit 1 is Critical for Both Female Gametogenesis and Embryogenesis显示文摘Anaphase-promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C), a multisubunit E3 ligase, plays a critical role in cell cycle control, but the functional characterization of each subunit has not yet been completed. To investigate the function of APC1 in Arabidopsis, we analyzed four mutant alleles of APC1, and found that mutation in APC1 resulted in significantly reduced plant fertility, accumulation of cyclin B, and disrupted auxin distribution in embryos. The three mutant alleles apc1-1, apc1-2 and apc1-3 shared variable defects in female gametogenesis including degradation, abnormal nuclear number, and disrupted polarity of nuclei in the embryo sac as well as in embryogenesis, in which embryos were arrested at multiple stages. All of these defects are similar to those previously identified in apc4. The mutant apc1-4, in which the T-DNA was inserted after the transmembrane domain at the C-terminus, showed much more severe phenotypes; that is, most of the ovules were arrested at the one-nucleate female gametophyte stage (stage FG1). In the apc1 apc4 double mutants, the fertility was further reduced by one-third in apc1-1/+ apc4-1/+, and in some cases no ovules even survived in siliques of apc1-4/+ apc4-1/+. 12Application of an analytic hierarchy process to hydrocarbon accumulation coefficient estimation显示文摘The hydrocarbon accumulation coefficient is a key parameter in resources evaluation by genetic techniques. Methods of obtaining its value scientifically have always been an important factor influencing evaluation credibility. In this paper, the hydrocarbon accumulation system is evaluated quantitatively by establishing a hierarchy structure model based on an analytical hierarchy process. The hydrocarbon accumulation system of a higher exploration degree is selected as a calibration area and its hydrocarbon accumulation coefficient can be calculated using methods of hydrocarbon generation potential and reservoir-scale sequence. The hydrocarbon accumulation coefficient of a petroleum accumulation system can be gained by analogy of reservoir forming comprehensive evaluation results with the calibration area. The hydrocarbon accumulation coefficient of each petroleum accumulation system in the upper reservoir-forming combination of the Liaohe Western Sag can be obtained with this method. 13SNAIL1 is essential for female gametogenesis in Arabidopsis thaliana显示文摘Two yeast Brix family members Ssf1 and Ssf2,involved in large ribosomal subunit synthesis, are essential for yeast cell viability and mating efficiency. Their putative homologs exist in the Arabidopsis genome; however, their role in plant development is unknown. Here, we show that Arabidopsis thaliana SNAIL1(At SNAIL1), a protein sharing high sequence identity with yeast Ssf1 and Ssf2, is critical to mitosis progression of female gametophyte development.The snail1 homozygous mutant was nonviable and its heterozygous mutant was semi-sterile with shorter siliques.The mutation in SNAIL1 led to absence of female transmission and reduced male transmission. Further phenotypic analysis showed that the synchronic development of female gametophyte in the snail1 heterozygous mutant was greatly impaired and the snail1 pollen tube growth, in vivo, was also compromised. 14The circular RNA circINPP4B acts as a sponge of miR-30a to regulate Th17 cell differentiation during progression of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis显示文摘Circular RNAs(circRNAs)regulate gene expression and participate in various biological and pathological processes.However,little is known about the effects of specific circRNAs on T helper cell 17(Th17)differentiation and related autoimmune diseases,such as multiple sclerosis(MS).Here,using transcriptome microarray analysis at different stages of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis(EAE),we identified the EAE progression-related circINPP4B,which showed upregulated expression in Th17 cells from mice with EAE and during Th17 differentiation in vitro.Silencing of circINPP4B inhibited Th17 differentiation and alleviated EAE,characterized by less demyelination and Th17 infiltration in the spinal cord.Mechanistically,circINPP4B served as a sponge that directly targeted miR-30a to regulate Th17 differentiation.Furthermore,circINPP4B levels were associated with the developing phases of clinical relapsing-remitting MS patients.Our results indicate that circINPP4B plays an important role in promoting Th17 differentiation and progression of EAE by targeting miR-30a,which provides a potential diagnostic and therapeutic target for Th17-mediated MS.Jingjing Han Wei Zhuang Wanhua Feng Fuxing Dong Fang Hua Ruiqin Yao Xuebin Qu 2021Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,9:2
15Differential Privacy Preserving Dynamic Data Release Scheme Based on Jensen-Shannon Divergence显示文摘Health monitoring data or the data about infectious diseases such as COVID-19 may need to be constantly updated and dynamically released,but they may contain user's sensitive information.Thus,how to preserve the user's privacy before their release is critically important yet challenging.Differential Privacy(DP)is well-known to provide effective privacy protection,and thus the dynamic DP preserving data release was designed to publish a histogram to meet DP guarantee.Unfortunately,this scheme may result in high cumulative errors and lower the data availability.To address this problem,in this paper,we apply Jensen-Shannon(JS)divergence to design the OPTICS(Ordering Points To Identify The Clustering Structure)scheme.It uses JS divergence to measure the difference between the updated data set at the current release time and private data set at the previous release time.By comparing the difference with a threshold,only when the difference is greater than the threshold,can we apply OPTICS to publish DP protected data sets.Our experimental results show that the absolute errors and average relative errors are significantly lower than those existing works.Ying Cai Yu Zhang Jingjing Qu Wenjin Li 2022China Communications2022,19,6:2
16Reproductive toxicity and underlying mechanisms of di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate in nematode Caenorhabditis elegans显示文摘DEHP(di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate) is an endocrine disruptor commonly found in plastic products that has been associated with reproduction alterations, but the effect of DEHP on toxicity is still widely unknown. Using DEHP concentrations of 10, 1, and 0.1 mg/L, we showed that DEHP reduced the reproductive capacity of Caenorhabditis elegans after 72 hr. of exposure. DEHP exposure reduced the reproductive capacity in terms of decreased brood sizes, egg hatchability(0.1, 1 and 10 mg/L), and egg-laying rate(1 and 10 mg/L), and increased numbers of fertilized eggs in the uterus(1 and 10 mg/L). DEHP also caused damage to gonad development. DEHP decreased the total number of germline cells, and decreased the relative area of the gonad arm of all exposure groups, with worms in the 1 mg/L DEHP exposure group having the minimum gonad arm area. Additionally, DEHP caused a significant concentration-dependent increase in the expression of unc-86. Autophagy and ROS contributed to the enhancement of DEHP toxicity in reducing reproductive capacity, and glutathione peroxidase and superoxide dismutase were activated as the antioxidant defense in this study. Hence, we found that DEHP has a dual effect on nematodes. Higher concentration(10 mg/L) DEHP can inhibit the expression of autophagy genes( atg-18, atg-7, bec-1, lgg-1 and unc-51), and lower concentrations(0.1 and 1 mg/L) can promote the expression of autophagy genes. 17Tumor organoids:synergistic applications,current challenges,and future prospects in cancer therapy显示文摘Patient-derived cancer cells(PDCs)and patient-derived xenografts(PDXs)are often used as tumor models,but have many shortcomings.PDCs not only lack diversity in terms of cell type,spatial organization,and microenvironment but also have adverse effects in stem cell cultures,whereas PDX are expensive with a low transplantation success rate and require a long culture time.In recent years,advances in three-dimensional(3D)organoid culture technology have led to the development of novel physiological systems that model the tissues of origin more precisely than traditional culture methods.Patient-derived cancer organoids bridge the conventional gaps in PDC and PDX models and closely reflect the pathophysiological features of natural tumorigenesis and metastasis,and have led to new patient-specific drug screening techniques,development of individualized treatment regimens,and discovery of prognostic biomarkers and mechanisms of resistance.Synergistic combinations of cancer organoids with other technologies,for example,organ-on-a-chip,3D bio-printing,and CRISPR-Cas9-mediated homology-independent organoid transgenesis,and with treatments, such as immunotherapy, have been useful in overcoming their limitations and led to the development of more suitable model systems that recapitulate the complex stroma of cancer, inter-organ and intra-organ communications,and potentially multiorgan metastasis. In this review, we discuss various methods for the creation of organ-specific cancer organoids and summarize organspecific advances and applications, synergistic technologies, and treatments aswell as current limitations and future prospects for cancer organoids. 18Fluorescence enhancement of Tb^(3+) complexes by adding silica-coated silver nanoparticles显示文摘Six kinds of terbium ternary complexes with halo-benzoic acids were synthesized. Their compositions were determined by C, H elemental analyzer and EDTA titration. The infrared spectra, ultraviolet absorption spectra, and fluorescence spectra were also measured to identify the complexes. Elemental analysis showed that the compositions of these complexes were Tb(p-Br BA)3?H2O, Tb(p-Cl BA)3?2H2O, Tb(p-FBA)3?H2O, Tb(o-FBA)3?2H2O, Tb(o-Cl BA)3?H2O, and Tb(o-Br BA)3?H2O, respectively. The monodispersed Ag@Si O2 core-shell nanoparticles with silica thicknesses of 10, 15, and 25 nm were successfully prepared and characterized by transmission-electron microscopy. Fluorescence intensities of the complexes were detected before and after Ag@Si O2 core-shell nanoparticles were added; the enhancement times were related to the silica-shell thickness. The fluorescence enhancement times were largest when the thickness of the silica shell was 25 nm. The mechanism may be attributed to the localized surface-plasmon resonance. Furthermore, the enhancement effect of terbium fluoro-benzoate complexes was the strongest in these complexes. 19Bone infection site targeting nanoparticle-antibiotics delivery vehicle to enhance treatment efficacy of orthopedic implant related infection显示文摘Orthopedic implants account for 99%of orthopedic surgeries,however,orthopedic implant-related infection is one of the most serious complications owing to the potential for limb-threatening sequelae and mortality.Current antibiotic treatments still lack the capacity to target bone infection sites,thereby resulting in unsatisfactory therapeutic effects.Here,the bone infection site targeting efficacy of D6 and UBI29-41 peptides was investigated,and bone-and-bacteria dual-targeted nanoparticles(NPs)with D6 and UBI29-41 peptides were first fabricated to target bone infection site and control the release of vancomycin in bone infection site.The results of this study demonstrated that the bone-and-bacteria dual-targeted mesoporous silica NPs exhibit excellent bone and bacteria targeting efficacy,excellent biocompatibility and effective antibacterial properties in vitro.Furthermore,in a rat model of orthopedic implant-related infection with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus,the growth of bacteria was evidently inhibited without cytotoxicity,thus realizing the early treatment of implant-related infection.Hence,the bone-and-bacteria dual-targeted molecule-modified NPs may target bacteria-infected bone sites and act as ideal candidates for the therapy of orthopedic implant-related infections.Bin’en Nie Shicheng Huo Xinhua Qu Jingjing Guo Xi Liu Qimin Hong You Wang Jianping Yang Bing Yue 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,10:2
