| 1 | Propofol differentially induces unconsciousness and respiratory depression through distinct interactions between GABAa receptor and GABAergic neuron in corresponding nuclei显示文摘Propofol is the most commonly used intravenous anesthetic worldwide.It can induce loss of consciousness prior to the occurrence of severe respiratory suppression,which is also a pharmacodynamic feature of all general anesthetics.However,the neural mechanisms underlying this natural phenomenon are controversial and highly related to patient safety.In the present study,we demonstrated that the pharmacodynamic effects of propofol(50 and 100 μM)on suppression of consciousness-related excitatory postsynaptic currents in the medial prefrontal cortex(mPFC)and centromedian nucleus of the thalamus(CMT)were lower than those in the kernel respiratory rhythmogenesis nucleus pre-Botzinger complex(PrBo).Furthermore,we unexpectedly found that the GABAa receptor β3 subunit is the key target for propofol's action and that it is mutually and exclusively expressed in GABAergic neurons.It is also more abundant in the mPFC and CMT,but mainly co-localized with GABAergic neurons in the PrBo.As a result,the differentiated expression pattern should mediate more neuron suppression through the activation of GABAergic neurons in the mPFC and CMT at low doses of propofol(50 μM).However,PrBo GABAergic neurons were only activated by propofol at a high dose(100 μM).These results highlight the detailed pharmacodynamic effects of propofol on consciousness-related and respiration-related nuclei and provide the distinct interaction mechanism between the β3 subunit and GABAergic neurons in mediating the suppression of consciousness compared to the inhibition of respiration. | Junli Jiang Yingfu Jiao Po Gao Wen Yin Wei Zhou Yunchun Zhang Yanjun Liu Daxiang Wen Yuan Wang Liang Zhou Tian Yu Weifeng Yu | 2021 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,8: | 11 |

| 4 | Liposomes for systematic delivery of vancomycin hydrochloride to decrease nephrotoxicity:Characterization and evaluation显示文摘Vancomycin hydrochloride(VANH),the first glycopeptide antibiotic,is a water-soluble drug for the treatment of acute osteomyelitis.Liposomal formulations of VANH have already been manipulated and characterized,which was a mean of increasing their therapeutic index,reducing their toxicity and altering drug biodistribution.One of the challenges for preparing VANH-Lips is their low encapsulation efficiency(EE).In the present study,we aim to improve the liposomal formulation of VANH for higher EE,longer systemic circulation,reduced nephrotoxicity and enhanced antimicrobial activities.Vancomycin hydrochloride-loaded liposomes(VANH-Lips)were formulated by the method of modified reverse phase evaporation.Based on the optimization of formulation with orthogonal experimental design,the average drug encapsulation efficiency and the mean particle size of VANH-Lips were found to be 40.78±2.56%and 188.4±2.77 nm.In vitro drug release of VANH-Lips possessed a sustained release characteristic and their release behavior was in accordance with the Weibull equation.After intravenous injection to mice,the mean residence time(MRT)of VANH-Lips group was significantly prolonged in vivo and the AUC value was improved as well compared with the vancomycin hydrochloride solution(VANH-Sol)group.Furthermore,the biodistribution results in mice showed that VANH-Lips decreased the accumulation of VANH in kidney after intravenous injection.In conclusion,VANH-Lips may be a potential delivery system for VANH to decrease nephrotoxicity in the treatment of osteomyelitis. | Junli Liu Zhonglan Wang Fubing Li Jinhua Gao Longmei Wang Guihua Huang | 2015 | Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2015,10,3: | 4 |

| 6 | Correlation between radiologic features on contrastenhanced CT and pathological tumor grades in pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms显示文摘Contrast-enhanced computed tomography(CT)contributes to the increasing detection of pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms(PNENs).Nevertheless,its value for differentiating pathological tumor grades is not well recognized.In this report,we have conducted a retrospective study on the relationship between the 2017 World Health Organization(WHO)classification and CT imaging features in 94 patients.Most of the investigated features eventually provided statistically significant indicators for discerning PNENs G3 from PNENs G1/G2,including tumor size,shape,margin,heterogeneity,intratumoral blood vessels,vascular invasion,enhancement pattern in both contrast phases,enhancement degree in both phases,tumor-to-pancreas contrast ratio in both phases,common bile duct dilatation,lymph node metastases,and liver metastases.Ill-defined tumor margin was an independent predictor for PNENs G3 with the highest area under the curve(AUC)of 0.906 in the multivariable logistic regression and receiver operating characteristic curve analysis.The portal enhancement ratio(PER)was shown the highest AUC of 0.855 in terms of quantitative features.Our data suggest that the traditional contrastenhanced CT still plays a vital role in differentiation of tumor grades and heterogeneity analysis prior to treatment. | Wenbin Xu Han Yan Lulu Xu Mingna Li Wentao Gao Kuirong Jiang Junli Wu Yi Miao | 2021 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2021,35,3: | 2 |
| 7 | Nutrient value of wild fodder species and the implications for improving the diet of mithun (Bos frontalis) in Dulongjiang area, Yunnan Province, China显示文摘Wild fodder plants are valuable because they provide an important livestock feed resource globally,especially for smallholder farmers,and have important roles in natural resource management.In-depth knowledge of wild forage plants can motivate local people for feed resource and habitat conservation of threatened herbivores such as Mithun(Bos frontalis).Mithun occur in small patches in the mountains of Dulongjiang,nearby villagers domesticated this animal but left animal to freely graze in the mountains.Many fodder plants occur in these mountains,however,little is known about their nutritional value.We conducted an ethnobotanical survey to document important wild fodder plants consumed by mithun in the Dulongjiang Township.The nutritional content of 21 highly mentioned wild fodder plants in an ethnobotanical survey was examined.Laboratory analysis showed that Fagopyrum dibotrys were the fodder species with the highest crude protein(CP)content(26.89%),followed by Polygonum molle(21.88%)and Hydrangea longipes(21.12%).Synthesis of relative feed value index and grey relational grade,P.molle,H.longipes and Tetrastigma obtectum were ranked the top three nutritional fodders.There was a significant difference between 21 species on their in vitro digestibility and the most highly digestible fodder species was Elatostema hookerianum.Linear model analysis on relationship between frequency of citation of 21 wild forage plants by local farmers and their nutrient composition showed that the frequency was significantly positively correlated with the nutritional value of the feed(R2?0.28,P<0.05).We concluded that these species have high nutritional values to improve mithun production in integrated crop-livestock systems.Fodder species or mixtures of species with useful nutritional characters could be cultivated to improve livestock productivity,habitat conservation including that of mithun and wild forage resource management. | Yanfei Geng Sailesh Ranjitkar Qiaoshun Yan Zhijun He Baqi Su Shengtao Gao Junli Niu Dengpan Bu Jianchu Xu | 2020 | Plant Diversity2020,42,6: | 2 |

| 9 | Key immunity characteristics of diverse stages of brucellosis in rural population from Inner Mongolia, China显示文摘Background: Brucellosis poses a serious threat to human and animal health,particularly in developing countries such as China.The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is one of the most severely brucellosis-endemic provinces in China.Currently,the host immune responses functioning to control Brucella infection and development remain poorly understood.The aim of this study is to further clarify the key immunity characteristics of diverse stages of brucellosis in Inner Mongolia.Methods: We collected a total of 733 blood samples from acute(n=137),chronic(n=316),inapparent(n=35),recovery(n=99),and healthy(n=146)groups from the rural community of Inner Mongolia between 2014 and 2015.The proportions of CD4^(+),CD8^(+),Th1,Th2,and Th17 T cells in peripheral blood and the expression of TLR2 and TLR4 in lymphocytes,monocytes and granulocytes were examined using flow cytometry analysis.The differences among the five groups were compared using one-way ANOVA and the Kruskal–Wallis method,respectively.Results: Our results revealed that the proportions of CD4^(+) and CD8^(+) T cells were significantly different among the acute,chronic,recovery,and healthy control groups(P<0.05),with lower proportions of CD4^(+) T cells and a higher proportion of CD8^(+) T cells in the acute,chronic,and recovery groups.The proportion of Th1 cells in the acute,chronic,and inapparent groups was higher than that in the healthy and recovery groups;however,there was no significant difference between patients and healthy individuals(P>0.05).The proportion of Th2 lymphocytes was significantly higher in the acute and healthy groups than in the inapparent group(P<0.05).The proportion of Th17 cells in the acute group was significantly higher than that in the healthy control,chronic,and inapparent groups(P<0.05).Finally,the highest expression of TLR4 in lymphocytes,monocytes and granulocytes was observed in the recovery group,and this was followed by the acute,chronic,healthy control,and inapparent groups.There was a significant difference between the recovery group and the other groups,except for the acute group(P<0.05).Moreover,a correlation in TLR4 expression was observed in lymphocytes,monocytes and granulocytes among the five groups(r>0.5),except for the inapparent group between lymphocytes and granulocytes(r=0.34).Conclusions: Two key factors(CD8^(+)T cells and TLR4)in human immune profiles may closely correlate with the progression of brucellosis.The detailed function of TLR4 in the context of a greater number of cell types or tissues in human or animal brucellosis and in larger samples should be further explored in the future. | Yongzhang Zhu Li Shi Yige Zeng Dongri Piao Yingbo Xie Juan Du Meng Gao Wei Gao Junli Tian Jun Yue Min Li XiaoKui Guo Yufeng Yao YaoXia Kang | 2022 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2022,11,3: | 1 |

| 14 | Highly selective electrocatalytic Cl− oxidation reaction by oxygen-modified cobalt nanoparticles immobilized carbon nanofibers for coupling with brine water remediation and H2 production显示文摘Combining the H2 production with brine remediation is regarded as a sustainable approach to achieving clean H2 energy. However, designing stable Cl− oxidation reaction (COR) electrocatalyst is the key to realize this route. Herein, a type of oxygen-modified Co nanoparticles anchored graphitic carbon nanofibers catalyst (Co/GCFs) was synthesized through a two-step strategy of adsorption and pyrolysis. The Co/GCFs-2.4 exhibits high selectivity and stability for COR at neutral electrolyte. It is worth noting that unlike the water oxidation, the chemical valence of cobalt has not changed during the COR. Further results demonstrated that the oxygen-modified Co nanoparticles provide active sites for selective COR, meanwhile, the graphitic carbon gives rise to strong catalytic stability. Thanks to the superior COR and H2 production activity of Co/GCFs-2.4, a two-electrode brine electrocatalysis system employing Co/GCFs-2.4 as both cathode and anode for H2 production exhibited robust stability, efficient and high Faraday efficiency (98%-100%).
