1Vertical distribution of aerosol optical properties based on aircraft measurements over the Loess Plateau in China显示文摘Vertical distributions of aerosol optical properties based on aircraft measurements over the Loess Plateau were measured for the first time during a summertime aircraft campaign, 2013 in Shanxi, China. Data from four flights were analyzed. The vertical distributions of aerosol optical properties including aerosol scattering coefficients(σsc), absorption coefficients(σab),Angstr?m exponent(α), single scattering albedo(ω), backscattering ratio(βsc), aerosol mass scattering proficiency(Q sc) and aerosol surface scattering proficiency(Q sc′) were obtained. The mean statistical values of σsc were 77.45 Mm-1(at 450 nm), 50.72 Mm-1(at 550 nm), and32.02 Mm-1(at 700 nm). The mean value of σab was 7.62 Mm-1(at 550 nm). The mean values ofα, βsc and ω were 1.93, 0.15, and 0.91, respectively. Aerosol concentration decreased with altitude. Most effective diameters(ED) of aerosols were less than 0.8 μm. The vertical profiles of σsc,, α, βsc, Q sc and Q sc′ showed that the aerosol scattering properties at lower levels contributed the most to the total aerosol radiative forcing. Both α and βsc had relatively large values, suggesting that most aerosols in the observational region were small particles. The mean values of σsc, α, βsc, Q sc, Q sc′, σab and ω at different height ranges showed that most of the parameters decreased with altitude. 2Auranofin mitigates systemic iron overload and induces ferroptosis via distinct mechanisms显示文摘Iron homeostasis is essential for health;moreover,hepcidin-deficiency results in iron overload in both hereditary hemochromatosis and iron-loading anemia.Here,we identified iron modulators by functionally screening hepcidin agonists using a library of 640 FDA-approved drugs in human hepatic Huh7 cells.We validated the results in C57BL/6J mice and a mouse model of hemochromatosis(Hfe^(−/−)mice).Our screen revealed that the anti-rheumatoid arthritis drug auranofin(AUR)potently upregulates hepcidin expression.Interestingly,we found that canonical signaling pathways that regulate iron,including the Bmp/Smad and IL-6/Jak2/Stat3 pathways,play indispensable roles in mediating AUR’s effects.In addition,AUR induces IL-6 via the NF-κB pathway.In C57BL/6J mice,acute treatment with 5 mg/kg AUR activated hepatic IL-6/hepcidin signaling and decreased serum iron and transferrin saturation.Whereas chronically treating male Hfe^(−/−)mice with 5 mg/kg AUR activated hepatic IL-6/hepcidin signaling,decreasing systemic iron overload,but less effective in females.Further analyses revealed that estrogen reduced the ability of AUR to induce IL-6/hepcidin signaling in Huh7 cells,providing a mechanistic explanation for ineffectiveness of AUR in female Hfe^(−/−)mice.Notably,high-dose AUR(25 mg/kg)induces ferroptosis and causes lipid peroxidation through inhibition of thioredoxin reductase(TXNRD)activity.We demonstrate the ferroptosis inhibitor ferrostatin significantly protects liver toxicity induced by highdose AUR without comprising its beneficial effect on iron metabolism.In conclusion,our findings provide compelling evidence that TXNRD is a key regulator of ferroptosis,and AUR is a novel activator of hepcidin and ferroptosis via distinct mechanisms,suggesting a promising approach for treating hemochromatosis and hepcidin-deficiency related disorders.Lei Yang Hao Wang Xiang Yang Qian Wu Peng An Xi Jin Weiwei Liu Xin Huang Yuzhu Li Shiyu Yan Shuying Shen Tingbo Liang Junxia Min Fudi Wang 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:5

6Astrocyte dysfunction in Parkinson's Check for updates disease:from the perspectives of transmittedα-synuclein and genetic modulation显示文摘Parkinson's disease(PD)is a common neurodegenerative disorder that primarily affects the elderly.While the etiology of PD is likely multifactorial with the involvement of genetic,environmental,aging and other factors,α-synuclein(α-syn)pathology is a pivotal mechanism underlying the development of PD.In recent years,astrocytes have attracted considerable attention in the field.Although astrocytes perform a variety of physiological functions in the brain,they are pivotal mediators ofα-syn toxicity since they internalizeα-syn released from damaged neurons,and this triggers an inflammatory response,protein degradation dysfunction,mitochondrial dysfunction and endoplasmic reticulum stress.Astrocytes are indispensable coordinators in the background of several genetic mutations,including PARK7,GBA1,LRRK2,ATP13A2,PINK1,PRKN and PLA2G6.As the most abundant glial cells in the brain,functional astrocytes can be replenished and even converted to functional neurons.In this review,we discuss astrocyte dysfunction in PD with an emphasis onα-syn toxicity and genetic modulation and conclude that astrocyte replenishment is a valuable therapeutic approach in PD.Changjing Wang Tongtong Yang Meiyu Liang Junxia Xie Ning Song 2021Translational Neurodegeneration2021,10,4:1
7Monitoring the morphology evolution of LiNi_(0.8)Mn_(0.1)Co_(0.1)O_(2)during high-temperature solid state synthesis via in situ SEM显示文摘The particle morphology determined by the sintering process is the director factor affecting the electrochemical performance of Ni-rich NMC cathode materials.To prepare the ideal NMC particles,it is of great significance to understand the morphological changes during sintering process.In this work,the morphology evolution of LiNi_(0.8)Mn_(0.1)Co_(0.1)O_(2)(NMC811)synthesis at temperature ranging from 300–1080℃were observed by in situ SEM.The uniform mixture of spherical Ni_(0.8)Mn_(0.1)Co_(0.1)(OH)_(2)precursor and lithium sources(LiOH)was employed by high temperature solid-state process inside the SEM,which enables us to observe morphology changes in real time.The results show that synthetic reaction of LiNi_(0.8)Mn_(0.1)Co_(0.1)O_(2)usually includes three processes:the raw materials’dehydration,oxidation,and combination,accompanied by a significant reduction in particle size,which is important reference to control the synthesis temperature.As heating temperature rise,the morphology of mixture also changed from flake to brick-shaped.However,Ni nanoparticle formation is apparent at higher temperature~1000℃,suggesting a structural transformation from a layered to a rock-salt-like structure.Combining the in-situ observed changes in size and morphology,and with the premise of ensuring the morphology change from flakes to bricks,reducing the sintering temperature as much as possible to prevent excessive reduction in particle size and layered to a rock-salt structure transformation is recommended for prepare ideal NMC particles.Liang Tang Xiaopeng Cheng Rui Wu Tianci Cao Junxia Lu Yuefei Zhang Ze Zhang 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,3:1

9A 2D Staggered Multi-Material ALE Code Using MOF Interface Reconstruction显示文摘Hydrocodes are necessary numerical tools in the fields of implosion and high-velocity impact,which often involve large deformations with changing-topology interfaces.It is very difficult for Lagrangian or Simplified Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian(SALE)codes to tackle these kinds of large-deformation problems,so a stag-gered Multi-Material ALE(MMALE)code is developed in this paper,which is the explicit time-marching Lagrange plus remap type.We use the Moment Of Fluid(MOF)method to reconstruct the interfaces of multi-material cells and present an adaptive bisection method to search for the global minimum value of the nonlinear objective function.To keep the Lagrangian computations as long as possible,we develop a ro-bust rezoning method named as Combined Rezoning Method(CRM)to generate the convex,smooth grids for the large-deformation domain.Regarding the staggered remap phase,we use two methods to remap the variables of Lagrangian mesh to the rezoned one.One is the first-order intersection-based remapping method that doesn’t limit the distances between the rezoned and Lagrangian meshes,so it can be used in the applications of wide scope.The other one is the conservative second-order flux-based remapping method developed by Kucharika and Shashkov[22]that requires the rezoned element to locate in its adjacent old elements.Numerical results of triple point problem show that the result of first-order remapping method using ALE computations is gradually convergent to that of second-order remapping method using Eulerian computations with the decrease of rezoning,thereby telling us that MMALE computations should be performed as few as possible to reduce the errors of the interface reconstruction and the remapping.Numerical results provide a clear evidence of the robustness and the accuracy of this MMALE scheme,and that our MMALE code is powerful for the large-deformation problems.Yibing Chen Junxia Cheng Liang Pan Haihua Yang Heng Yong Xin Yu 2021Numerical Mathematics(Theory,Methods and Applications)2021,14,1:0
10Novel Ag-bridged dual Z-scheme g-C_(3)N_(4)/BiOI/AgI plasmonic heterojunction: Exceptional photocatalytic activity towards tetracycline and the mechanism insight显示文摘Rational design and synthesis of highly efficient and robust photocatalysts with positive exciton splitting and interfacial charge transfer for environmental applications is critical.Herein,aiming at overcoming the common shortcomings of traditional photocatalysts such as weak photoresponsivity,rapid combination of photo-generated carriers and unstable structure,a novel Ag-bridged dual Z-scheme g-C_(3)N_(4)/BiOI/AgI plasmonic heterojunction was successfully synthesized using a facile method.Results showed that Ag-AgI nanoparticles and three-dimensional(3D)BiOI microspheres were decorated highly uniformly on the 3D porous g-C_(3)N_(4) nanosheet,resulting in a higher specific surface area and abundant active sites.The optimized 3D porous dual Z-scheme g-C_(3)N_(4)/BiOI/Ag-AgI manifested exceptional photocatalytic degradation efficiency of tetracycline(TC)in water with approximately 91.8%degradation efficiency within 165 min,outperforming majority of the reported g-C_(3)N_(4)-based photocatalysts.Moreover,g-C_(3)N_(4)/BiOI/Ag-AgI exhibited good stability in terms of activity and structure.In-depth radical scavenging and electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)analyses confirmed the relative contributions of various scavengers.Mechanism analysis indicated that the improved photocatalytic performance and stability were ascribed to the highly ordered 3D porous framework,fast electron transfer of dual Z-scheme heterojunction,desirable photocatalytic performance of BiOI/AgI and synergistic effect of Ag plasmas.Therefore,the 3D porous Z-scheme g-C_(3)N_(4)/BiOI/Ag-AgI heterojunction had a good prospect for applications in water remediation.The current work provides new insight and useful guidance for designing novel structural photocatalysts for environment-related applications.Wenxia Wang Zhen Li Kailin Wu Guodong Dai Qingping Chen Lihua Zhou Junxia Zheng Liang Ma Guiying Li Wanjun Wang Taicheng An 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,9:0
11Two-stage reproduction derived from cells of thallus could directly contribute to seeds for green tidal algal Enteromorpha(Ulva) prolifera/clathrata bloom,with disclosure of their ephemeral trait显示文摘Green tidal algal Enteromorpha species complete their life cycles by the isomorphic alternation of generations.The provenance of green tide caused by them in the western Yellow Sea has been disputed. The cell reproduction derived from adult thallus was observed on E. clathrata collected from Shantou City, Guangdong Province in this study. Subsequently, it further found that E. proliferia collected from Qingdao City, Shandong Province and Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, produced reproductive cells by somatic cells of its early infantile thallus or branch. The latter is functionally similar to that the seedlings of red alga Porphyra yezoensis produce the monospores, and could exquisitely explain the ephemeral or opportunistic trait and environmental adaptation ability of Enteromorpha species. Changes in growth conditions may induce the two types of cell reproduction.They contribute to the bloom, and can effectively reveal the seasonally occurring large-scale and on-year and offyear phenomenon. The latter may have played a decisive role in its formation. This paper analyses the legal status of the species name, the type of generation during bloom, ephemeral traits, the role of microscopic propagule, the area of origin, on-year and off-year phenomenon, early warning and prevention and control of the species, and so on.
