| 3 | Integrated metabolo-transcriptomics and functional characterization reveals that the wheat auxin receptor TIR1 negatively regulates defense against Fusarium graminearum显示文摘Fusarium head blight(FHB) caused by Fusarium graminearum Schwabe(teleomorph Gibberella zeae(Schw.) Perch) results in large yield losses in annual global wheat production. Although studies have identified a number of wheat FHB resistance genes,a deeper understanding of the mechanisms underlying host plant resistance to F. graminearum is required for the control of FHB. Here, an integrated metabolomics and transcriptomics analysis of infected wheat plants(Triticum aestivum L.) enabled identification of 789 differentially accumulated metabolites, including flavonoids, phenolamides, tryptamine derivatives, and phytohormones, and revealed altered expression of more than 100 genes that function in the biosynthesis or regulation of these pathways. Our data regarding the effects of F. graminearum infection on flavonoids and auxin signaling led to follow-up experiments that showed that exogenous kaempferide and apigenin application on spikes increased wheat resistance to FHB,while exogenous auxin treatment increased FHB susceptibility. RNAi-mediated knockdown of the gene encoding the auxin receptor, Ta TIR1, increased FHB resistance. Our data supported the use of Ta TIR1 knockdown in controlling FHB. | 8 | Suppressing Al2O3 nanoparticle coarsening and Cu nanograin growth of milled nanostructured Cu-5vol.%Al2O3 composite powder particles by doping with Ti显示文摘Both the coarsening of Al_2O_3 nanoparticles and the growth of Cu nanograins of mechanically milled nanostructured Cu-5 vol.%Al_2O_3 composites with, and without, trace amounts of Ti during annealing at973 K for 1 h were investigated. It was found that doping with a small amount of Ti(e.g. 0.2 wt%) in a nanostructured Cu-5 vol.%Al_2O_3 composite effectively suppressed the coarsening of Al_2O_3 nanoparticles during exposure at this temperature. Further, the Ti addition also prevented the concomitant abnormal growth of the copper grains normally caused by the coarsening of the Al_2O_3 nanoparticles. | 14 | Impacts of hydrogen dilution on growth and optical properties of a-SiC:H films显示文摘Hydrogenated amorphous silicon-carbon (a-SiC:H) films were deposited by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) with a fixed methane to silane ratio ([CH4]/[SiH4]) of 1.2 and a wide range of hydrogen dilution (RH=[H2]/[SiH4 + CH4]) values of 12, 22, 33, 102 and 135. The impacts of RH on the structural and optical properties of the films were investigated by using UV-VIS transmission, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) absorption, Raman scattering and photoluminescence (PL) measur- ements. The effects of high temperature annealing on the films were also probed. It is found that with increasing hydrogen dilution, the optical band gap increases, and the PL peak blueshifts from ~1.43 to 1.62 Ev.
