| 2 | Effects of icariin on cGMP-specific PDE5 and cAMP-specific PDE4 activities显示文摘Aim:To clarify the mechanism of the therapeutic action of icariin on erectlile dysfunction(ED).Methods:PDE5 was isolated from the human platelet and PDE4 form the rat liver tissue using the FPLC system (Pharmacia,Milton Keynes,UK)and the Mono Q column.The inhibitory effects of icariin on PDE5 and PDE4 activities were investigated by the two-step radioisotope procedure with [^3H]-c GMP/[^3H]-cAMP.Papaverine served as the control drug.Results:Icariin and papaverine showed dose-dependent inhibitory effects on PDE5 and PDE4 activities.The IC50 of Icariin and papaverine on PDE5 were 0.432μ mol/L and 0.680μmol/L,respectively and those on PDE4,73.50μmol/L and 3.07μmol/L,respectively.The potencies of selectivity of icariin and papaverine on PDE5(PDE4/PDE5 of IC50)were 167.67 times and 4.54 times,respectively.Conclusion:Icariin is a cGMP-specific PDE5 inhibitor that may be developed into an oral effective agent for the treatment of ED. | ZC Xin EK Kim CS Lin WJ Liu L Tian YM Yuan J Fu | 2003 | Asian Journal of Andrology2003,5,1: | 38 |
| 3 | Accuracy evaluation of a new three-dimensional reproduction method of edentulous dental casts, and wax occlusion rims with jaw relation显示文摘The article introduces a new method for three-dimensional reproduction of edentulous dental casts,and wax occlusion rims with jaw relation by using a commercial high-speed line laser scanner and reverse engineering software and evaluates the method’s accuracy in vitro.The method comprises three main steps:(i)acquisition of the three-dimensional stereolithography data of maxillary and mandibular edentulous dental casts and wax occlusion rims;(ii)acquisition of the three-dimensional stereolithography data of jaw relations;and(iii)registration of these data with the reverse engineering software and completing reconstruction.To evaluate the accuracy of this method,dental casts and wax occlusion rims of 10 edentulous patients were used.The lengths of eight lines between common anatomic landmarks were measured directly on the casts and occlusion rims by using a vernier caliper and on the three-dimensional computerized images by using the software measurement tool.The direct data were considered as the true values.The paired-samples t-test was used for statistical analysis.The mean differences between the direct and the computerized measurements were mostly less than 0.04 mm and were not significant(P.0.05).Statistical significance among 10 patients was assessed using one-way analysis of variance(P,0.05).The result showed that the 10 patients were considered statistically no significant.Therefore,accurate three-dimensional reproduction of the edentulous dental casts,wax occlusion rims,and jaw relations was achieved.The proposed method enables the visualization of occlusion from different views and would help to meet the demand for the computer-aided design of removable complete dentures. | Fu-Song Yuan Yu-Chun Sun Yong Wang Pei-Jun L | 2013 | International Journal of Oral Science2013,5,3: | 20 |
| 4 | Combined acoustic radiation force impulse, aminotransferase to platelet ratio index and Forns index assessment for hepatic fibrosis grading in hepatitis B显示文摘AIM: To investigate the combined diagnostic accuracy of acoustic radiation force impulse(ARFI), aspartate aminotransferase to platelet ratio index(APRI) and Forns index for a non-invasive assessment of liver fibrosis in patients with chronic hepatitis B(CHB). METHODS: In this prospective study, 206 patients had CHB with liver fibrosis stages F0-F4 classified by METAVIR and 40 were healthy volunteers were measured by ARFI, APRI and Forns index separately or combined as indicated. RESULTS: ARFI, APRI or Forns index demonstrated a significant correlation with the histological stage(all P < 0.001). According to the AUROC of ARFI and APRI for evaluating fibrotic stages more than F2, ARFI showed an enhanced diagnostic accuracy than APRI(P < 0.05). The combined measurement of ARFI and APRI exhibited better accuracy than ARFI alone when evaluating ≥ F2 fibrotic stage(Z = 2.77, P = 0.006). Combination of ARFI, APRI and Forns index did not obviously improve the diagnostic accuracy compared to the combination of ARFI and APRI(Z = 0.958, P = 0.338). | 5 | A prospective randomized antiplatelet trial of cilostazol versus clopidogrel in patients with bare metal stent显示文摘Background Cilostazol is a newly developed antiplatelet drug that has been widely applied for clinical use. Its antiplatelet action appears to be mainly related to inhibition of intracellular phosphodiesterase activity. Recently, cilostazol has been used for antiplatelet therapy after coronary bare metal stent implantation for thrombosis and restenosis prevention. This prospective randomized and double blind trial was designed to investigate the safety and efficacy of cilostazol for the prevention of late restenosis and acute or subacute stent thrombosis. Methods One hundred and twenty patients who underwent elective stent were randomly assigned to treatment group with cilostazol 200 mg/d (n = 60), clopidogrel 75 mg/d and aspirin 100 mg/d or to control group with clopidogrel treatment 75 mg/d (n = 60) and aspirin 100 mg/d. Follow-up coronary angiography was performed 6-9 months later. Results Nine months major adverse cardio-cerebral event (MACCE) were lower in treatment groups (P<0.05). The quantitative coronary angiography (QCA) at 6 months follow-up showed that minimum lumen diameter (MLD) was higher in treatment group than that of control group [(2.14±0.52)mm vs (1.82±0.36)mm, P<0.05]. Late lumen loss (LL) [(0.82±0.42)mm vs (1.31±0.58)mm; P<0.01], restenosis rate (RR) (14% vs 32%; P<0.05) and target lesion revascularizaion (TLR) rate (5% vs 17%; P<0.05) were lower in treatment group than in control group. | 7 | ENSO signals and their spatial-temporal variation characteristics recorded by the sea-level changes in the northwest Pacific margin during 1965-2005显示文摘Sea-level is closely linked to the Earth's climate and its change is important as a metric for global and regional climate change. Identifying, extracting, and revealing such information through detailed analysis is the prerequisite for understanding the mechanisms of sea-level change. The monthlyaverage tide-change records reported and examined in this paper are from 10 tide gauge stations distributed in the northwest margin of the Pacific Ocean, registered during the period 1965-2005. In particular, we have utilized the Second Order Blind Identification (SOBI) method to identify and the Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) method to extract the El Nio-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) signals imprinted in those tide gauge records; and subsequently, we have investigated the spa-tial-temporal characteristics of the extracted ENSO signals using wavelet analysis methods. The following results are obtained: (1) the ENSO events recorded by each tide gauge series are of different types and intensity, which show considerable temporal-spatial variation characteristics, with sea-level responses to ENSO signals remarkably stronger in low latitude areas than in medium-high latitude areas; (2) due to the influences of ocean currents, topographical conditions, and other factors, there exist variations in the type of relationship between the sea-level changes and the recorded ENSO events at different latitudes; (3) sea-level changes can also denote scale-variation characteristics of ENSO events, and particularly, since 1980s, all the tide gauges located south of Kanmen show intense responses to ENSO and the timescale of ENSO events extended gradually from around 4 years to 2-8 years, reflecting variations in the intensity and frequency of ENSO events; and (4) reverse changes of certain scale were noted before and after strong ENSO events recorded by sea-level changes, supporting the research findings about the interaction (mutual coupling and superimposition) between the probability of occurrence of strong ENSO events and their time scale. | YUAN LinWang,YU ZhaoYuan,XIE ZhiRen,SONG ZhiYao & Lü GuoNian School of Geographical Science,Nanjing Normal University,Nanjing 210046,China | 2009 | Science China Earth Sciences2009,52,6: | 14 |

| 9 | Geometric algebra method for multidimensionally-unified GIS computation显示文摘Seamless multidimensional handling and coordinate-free characteristics of geometric algebra (GA) provide means to construct multidimensionally-unified GIS computation models. Using the multivector representation for basic geometric objects within GA, we are able to construct adaptable unified geometric-topological structural models of a multidimensional geographical scene. Multidimensional operators found within the geometry, topology and GIS analysis are developed with basic GA operators. A unified computational framework is proposed, it unifies expressions and operation structures, as well as supports the analysis of multidimensional complex scenes. Finally, we illustrate modelling a three-dimensional residential district, which shows that GAbased multidimensionally-unified computation models can effectively represent and analyze complex and multidimensional geographical scenes. | 11 | Operating principles and detection characteristics of the Visible and Near-Infrared Imaging Spectrometer in the Chang'e-3显示文摘The Visible and Near-Infrared Imaging Spectrometer(VNIS), using two acousto-optic tunable filters as dispersive components, consists of a VIS/NIR imaging spectrometer(0.45–0.95 μm), a shortwave IR spectrometer(0.9–2.4 μm) and a calibration unit with dust-proofing functionality. The VNIS was utilized to detect the spectrum of the lunar surface and achieve in-orbit calibration, which satisfied the requirements for scientific detection. Mounted at the front of the Yutu rover, lunar objects that are detected with the VNIS with a 45° visual angle to obtain spectra and geometrical data in order to analyze the mineral composition of the lunar surface. After landing successfully on the Moon, the VNIS performed several explorations and calibrations, and obtained several spectral images and spectral reflectance curves of the lunar soil in the region of Mare Imbrium. | 12 | Tidally induced upwelling off Yangtze River estuary and in Zhejiang coastal waters in summer显示文摘MASNUM wave-tide-circulation coupled numerical model (MASNUM coupled model, hereinafter) is de-veloped based on the Princeton Ocean Model (POM). Both POM and MASNUM coupled model are ap-plied in the numerical simulation of the upwelling off Yangtze River estuary and in Zhejiang coastal waters in summer. The upwelling mechanisms are analyzed from the viewpoint of tide, and a new mechanism is proposed. The study suggests that the tidally inducing mechanism of the upwelling in-cludes two dynamic aspects: the barotropic and the baroclinic process. On the one hand, the residual currents induced by barotropic tides converge near the seabed, and upwelling is generated to maintain mass conservation. The climbing of the residual currents along the sea bottom slope also contributes to the upwelling. On the other hand, tidal mixing plays a very important role in inducing the upwelling in the baroclinic sea circumstances. Strong tidal mixing leads to conspicuous front in the coastal waters. The considerable horizontal density gradient across the front elicits a secondary circulation clinging to the tidal front, and the upwelling branch appears near the frontal zone. Numerical experiments are de-signed to determine the importance of tide in inducing the upwelling. The results indicate that tide is a key and dominant inducement of the upwelling. | 13 | Development of genome-wide insertion/deletion markers in rice based on graphic pipeline platform显示文摘DNA markers play important roles in plant breeding and genetics.The Insertion/Deletion(InDel) marker is one kind of co-dominant DNA markers widely used due to its low cost and high precision.However,the canonical way of searching for InDel markers is time-consuming and laborintensive.We developed an end-to-end computational solution(InDel Markers Development Platform,IMDP) to identify genome-wide InDel markers under a graphic pipeline environment.IMDP constitutes assembled genome sequences alignment pipeline(AGA-pipe) and next-generation resequencing data mapping pipeline(NGS-pipe).With AGA-pipe we are able to identify 12,944 markers between the genome of rice cultivars Nipponbare and 93-11.Using NGS-pipe,we reported 34,794 InDels from re-sequencing data of rice cultivars Wu-Yun-Geng7 and Guang-Lu-Ai4.Combining AGApipe and NGS-pipe,we developed 205,659 InDels in eight japonica and nine indica cultivars and 2,681 InDels showed a subgroup-specific pattern.Polymerase chain reaction(PCR)analysis of subgroup-specific markers indicated that the precision reached 90%(86 of 95).Finally,to make them available to the public,we have integrated the InDels/markers information into a website(Rice InDel Marker Database,RIMD,http://gffzz71b3756633b74a6ehnnnuf9ockpkn6b55.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/).The application of IMDP in rice will facilitate efficiency for development of genome-wide InDel markers,in addition it can be used in other species with reference genome sequences and NGS data. | Yang L Xiao Cui Rui Li Piaopiao Huang Jie Zong Danqing Yao Gang Li Dabing Zhang Zheng Yuan | 2015 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2015,57,11: | 9 |

The skull morphology (low crest) of Huaxiapterus jii indicates that Huaxiapterus is more closely related to Sinopterus than to Tapejara, which has a high crest. The relatively long and shallow skull of Sinopterus indicates that it is a primitive form. | 15 | Rapid exhumation of the Tianshan Mountains since the early Miocene:Evidence from combined apatite fission track and(U-Th)/He thermochronology显示文摘Combined apatite fission track(AFT)and(U-Th)/He(AHe)thermochronometries can be of great value for investigating the history of exhumation of orogenic belts.We evaluate the results of such a combined approach through the study on rock samples collected from the Baluntai section in the Tianshan Mountains,northwestern China.Our results show that AFT ages range from^60 to 40 Ma and AHe ages span^40–10 Ma.Based on the strict thermochronological constraints imposed by AHe ages,forward modeling of data derived from AFT analyses provides a well-constrained Cenozoic thermal history.The modeled results reveal a history of relatively slow exhumation during the early Cenozoic times followed by a significantly accelerated exhumation process since the early Miocene with the rate increasing from<30 m/Myr to>100 m/Myr,which is consistent with the inference from the exhumation rates calculated based on both AFT and AHe age data by age-closure temperature and mineral pair methods.Further accelerated exhumation since the late Miocene is recorded by an AHe age(~11 Ma)from the bottom of the Baluntai section.Together with the previous low-temperature thermochronological data from the other parts of the Tianshan Mountains,the rapid exhumation since the early Miocene is regarded as an important exhumation process likely prevailing within the whole range. | Lü HongHua CHANG Yuan WANG Wei ZHOU ZuYi | 2013 | Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,12: | 7 |
| 16 | Effects of different irrigation methods on micro-environments and root distribution in winter wheat fields显示文摘The irrigation method used in winter wheat fields affects micro-environment factors, such as relative humidity(RH) within canopy, soil temperature, topsoil bulk density, soil matric potential, and soil nutrients, and these changes may affect plant root growth.An experiment was carried out to explore the effects of irrigation method on micro-environments and root distribution in a winter wheat field in the 2007–2008 and 2008–2009 growing seasons.The results showed that border irrigation(BI), sprinkler irrigation(SI), and surface drip irrigation(SDI) had no significant effects on soil temperature.Topsoil bulk density, RH within the canopy, soil available N distribution, and soil matric potential were significantly affected by the three treatments.The change in soil matric potential was the key reason for the altered root profile distribution patterns.Additionally, more fine roots were produced in the BI treatment when soil water content was low and topsoil bulk density was high.Root growth was most stimulated in the top soil layers and inhibited in the deep layers in the SDI treatment, followed by SI and BI, which was due to the different water application frequencies.As a result, the root profile distribution differed, depending on the irrigation method used.The root distribution pattern changes could be described by the power level variation in the exponential function.A good knowledge of root distribution patterns is important when attempting to model water and nutrient movements and when studying soil-plant interactions. | Lü Guo-hua SONG Ji-qing BAI Wen-bo WU Yong-feng LIU Yuan KANG Yao-hu | 2015 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2015,14,8: | 7 |
| 17 | Effects of cooling rates on the mechanical properties of a Ti-based bulk metallic glass显示文摘Mechanical properties of the glassy specimens fabricated at different cooling rates with a composition of Ti40Zr25Cu12Ni3Be20 were systematically investigated. It was confirmed that faster cooling rates caused not only a larger amount of frozen-in free volume but also a higher glass transition temperature in the bulk glassy alloy. Increase in the free volume was found to favor plastic deformation and then to give rise to larger compressive plasticity, whilst the rise in the glass transition temperature seemed to be closely related to the higher yield strength. Moreover, the increase of yield strength and plasticity induced by fast cooling rates may also be associated with the residual stress generated during the fabrication process. | 18 | Efficacy and advantages of modified Traditional Chinese Medicine treatments based on'kidney reinforcing'for chronic aplastic ane-mia:a randomized controlled clinical trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To compare the efficacy of modified treatments based on 'kidney reinforcing' in the management of chronic aplastic anemia(CAA),and explore their advantages and specialties.METHODS:One hundred and eleven patients with CAA were randomly divided into three groups:kidney reinforcing alone(KA),'kidney reinforcing and Qi tonifying'(KQ),and 'kidney reinforcing and blood circulation invigorating'(KC).Normal and positive control groups were also formed.All patients were treated for 6 months(two courses).Hemograms,Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) syndrome scores,and therapeutic effects were assessed,and changes in T-lymphocyte subsets,regulatory T cells and cytokines were detected.RESULTS:The KQ and KC groups had lower TCM syndrome scores than the positive control group after 6 months(P < 0.05).The KQ group had a higher overall efficacy than the positive control group after 3 months(P < 0.05),while platelet counts increased in the KC group after 6 months(P < 0.05).CD3+ T-lymphocyte ratios decreased only in the KQ group,while CD3 + CD4 + CD8-Tlymphocytes increased only in the KC group after 6 months(P <0.05).Levels of interferon-γ,tumor necrosis fac-tor-α,interleukin(IL)-2 and IL-6 decreased and levels of IL-4 and IL-10 increased in all treated groups after 6 months.Levels of IL-6 in the KQ and KC groups were lower than those in the positive control group(P < 0.05).CONCLUSION:Treatments based on kidney reinforcing have a rebalancing effect on cytotoxic and T helper cells,and regulate expression of interferon-γ,IL-2,IL-6 and IL-4.KQ may be more effective in treating CAA,and KC may have an advantage in platelet recovery. | Wu Dijiong Shen Yiping Ye Baodong Fang Bingmu Lin Shengyun Chen Zhilu Jiang Huifang Feng Changwei He Lüyuan Gao Yanting Liu Yonglin Liu Yonghua Zhu Jiajia Wu Liqiang Shao Keding Zhou Yuhong | 2016 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2016,36,4: | 6 |
| 19 | A genome-wide analysis of SWEET gene family in cotton and their expressions under different stresses显示文摘Background: The SWEET(Sugars will eventually be exported transporters) gene family plays multiple roles in plant physiological activities and development process. It participates in reproductive development and in the process of sugar transport and absorption, plant senescence and stress responses and plant-pathogen interaction. However,thecomprehensive analysis of SWEET genes has not been reported in cotton.Results: In this study, we identified 22, 31, 55 and 60 SWEET genes from the sequenced genomes of Gossypium arboreum, G. raimondii, G. hirsutum and G. barbadense, respectively. Phylogenetic tree analysis showed that the SWEET genes could be divided into four groups, which were further classified into 14 sub-clades. Further analysis of chromosomal location, synteny analysis and gene duplication suggested that the orthologs showed a good collinearity and segmental duplication events played a crucial role in the expansion of the family in cotton. Specific MtN3_slv domains were highly conserved between Arobidopsis and cotton by exon-intron organization and motif analysis. In addition, the expression pattern in different tissues indicated that the duplicated genes in cotton might have acquired new functions as a result of sub-functionalization or neo-funtionalization. The expression pattern of SWEET genes showed that the different genes were induced by diverse stresses. The identification and functional analysis of SWEET genes in cotton may provide more candidate genes for genetic modification.Conclusion: SWEET genes were classified into four clades in cotton. The expression patterns suggested that the duplicated genes might have experienced a functional divergence.
