| 1 | Chinese urbanization 2050: SD modeling and process simulation显示文摘Is Chinese urbanization going to take a long time, or can its development goal be achieved by the government in a short time? What is the highest stable urbanization level that China can reach? When can China complete its urbanization? To answer these questions, this paper presents a system dynamic(SD) model of Chinese urbanization, and its validity and simulation are justified by a stock-flow test and a sensitivity analysis using real data from 1998 to 2013. Setting the initial conditions of the simulation by referring to the real data of 2013, the multi-scenario analysis from 2013 to 2050 reveals that Chinese urbanization will reach a level higher than 70% in 2035 and then proceed to a slow urbanization stage regardless of the population policy and GDP growth rate settings; in 2050, Chinese urbanization levels will reach approximately 75%, which is a stable and equilibrium level for China. Thus, it can be argued that Chinese urbanization is a long social development process that will require approximately20 years to complete and that the ultimate urbanization level will be 75–80%, which means that in the distant future, 20–25% of China's population will still settle in rural regions of China. | GU ChaoLin GUAN WeiHua LIU HeLin | 2017 | Science China Earth Sciences2017,60,6: | 16 |
| 2 | Effects of Nitrogen Rate and Split Application Ratio on Nitrogen Use and Soil Nitrogen Balance in Cotton Fields显示文摘The Yellow River valley is one of the three largest cotton production areas in China.An experiment was performed in cotton fields of Anyang,China from 2013 to 2014 to investigate the effects of nitrogen(N) application rate and the ratio between basal and topdressing N fertilizer on N balance in a soil-plant system,N use efficiency,and cotton yield.Five N application rates as treatments were applied with the same split application ratio.Half of the N(50% basal fertilizer) was applied at pre-planting and the other half(50% topdressing fertilizer) at the initial flowering stage.These treatments were:zero N(N0,control),90 kg N ha^(-1)(N90(5/5)),180 kg N ha^(-1)(N180(5/5)),270 kg N ha^(-1)(N270(5/5),a reduced N rate),and 360 kg N ha^(-1)(N360(5/5),a conventional N rate).Additional 2 split application ratios as treatments were applied with the same N rate of 270 kg N ha^(-1).The split application ratios between basal N and topdressing N were 30%:70%(N270(3/7)) and 70%:30%(N270(7/3)).Results demonstrated that soil NH_4-N content in the 0–60 cm layer and NO3-N content in the 0–20 cm layer increased with increased N rate at the squaring and boll-opening stages and then decreased to lower levels at the initial flowering and harvest stages.Soil NO_3-N content in the 20–60 cm layer after the initial flowering stage increased with the increase of topdressing N rate.Soil apparent N surplus varied at different growth stages,while the soil apparent N surplus over the entire growth period exhibited a positive relationship at N rates over 180 kg ha^(-1).Seed cotton yield of N270(3/7) was the highest of all treatments.Plant N uptake,N agronomic efficiency,and apparent N recovery efficiency of N270(3/7) were significantly higher than those of N270(5/5) and N270(7/3) in both growing seasons.These suggest both economic and ecological benefits in cotton production in the Yellow River valley could be created,by appropriately reducing total N application rate and increasing the ratio of topdressing to basal N fertilizer at the initial flowering stage. | LI Pengcheng DONG Helin LIU Aizhong LIU Jingran SUN Miao LI Yabing LIU Shaodong ZHAO Xinhua MAO Shuchun | 2017 | Pedosphere2017,27,4: | 7 |
| 3 | Effects of drip irrigation modes on growth and physiological characteristics of Arabica coffee under different N levels显示文摘The objective of this study was to obtain the water-saving and efficient production mode of Arabica coffee. The effects of three drip irrigation modes,conventional drip irrigation( CDI),alternate drip irrigation( ADI) and fixed drip irrigation( FDI) on growth,photosynthetic characteristics,biomass accumulation and irrigation water use efficiency of Arabica coffee were investigated under three nitrogen levels,high nitrogen( NH),middle nitrogen( NM) and low nitrogen( NL). The results show that there was a significant Logistic curve between the plant height,the stem diameter of Arabica coffee and growth days. Compared with CDI,ADI had no significant effects on leaf net photosynthetic rate,stomatal conductance,instantaneous water use efficiency and biomass accumulation above ground of Arabica coffee,while FDI decreased significantly,ADI and FDI increased irrigation water use efficiency by 50. 59% and 32. 85%,respectively. Compared with NH,with the reduction of N application rate,net photosynthetic rate,stomatal conductance,biomass accumulation above ground and irrigation water use efficiency decreased by 6. 81%-12. 30%,13. 70%-22. 69%,9. 61%-16. 67% and 9. 78%-15. 64%,respectively. Compared with CDINH,ADINHdecreased net photosynthesis rate and the stomatal conductance not significantly,other treatments decreased by 9. 16%-19. 22%,14. 49%-32. 91%,and decreased biomass accumulation above ground by 8. 26%-27. 34% except ADINH,and increased irrigation water use efficiency by 16. 46%-60. 95% except CDINMand CDINL. | 7 | Mo-based perpendicularly magnetized thin films with low damping for fast and low-power consumption magnetic memory显示文摘Perpendicular magnetic anisotropy-based magnetic tunnel junctions(p-MTJs) with low Gilbert damping constant(α) are of particular interest for fast and low-power consumption magnetic random-access memory(MRAM). However, obtaining a faster switching speed and lower power consumption is still a big challenge. Herein, we report a Mo-based perpendicular double free layer structure with a low Gilbert damping constant of 0.02 relative to W-based films, as measured by time-resolved magnetooptical Kerr effect equipment. To show the influence of different film structures on the Gilbert damping constant, we measured the Mo-based single free layer. Thereafter, we deposited the full stacks with the Mo-based double free layer and obtained a high tunneling magnetoresistance of 136.3% and high thermal stability. The results of high-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HR-TEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS) showed that the Mo-based films had better crystallinity,sharper interfaces, and weaker diffusion than the W-based films and thus produced a weaker external contribution of the Gilbert damping constant. As a result of the weak spin-orbit coupling in the Mo-based structure, the intrinsic contribution of the Gilbert damping constant was also weak, thereby leading to the small Gilbert damping constant of the Mo-based stacks. In addition, the macro-spin simulation results demonstrated that the magnetization switching by the spin transfer torque of the Mo-based MTJs was faster than that of the W-based MTJs. | 11 | A comparative study of the electrical characteristics of positive and negative narrow bipolar events显示文摘Narrow bipolar events(NBEs)are intriguing intra-cloud discharge that have attracted enormous interest in the lightning community.They come with two polarities that dominate at different altitudes in thunderclouds.The sources of negative NBEs are usually located near the top of thunderclouds;those of positive NBEs are at the middle levels.NBEs may occur at the onset of lightning.The electrical properties of NBEs remain poorly understood.We present here the first comparative study of the electrical characteristics of negative and positive NBEs.To derive electrical parameters from the fast electric field change waveforms of 1673 positive NBEs and 364 negative NBEs recorded by the Jianghuai Area Sferic Array(JASA)in China,we use an improved method based on the transmission line model.This approach concludes that negative NBEs occurring at high altitudes tend to produce a narrower current pulse and take a shorter time to traverse the channel than their positive counterparts.Moreover,compared to positive NBEs,a larger portion of negative NBEs are associated with slightly greater peak current moments but smaller overall charge moments.The differences reported herein between electrical properties of negative and positive NBEs suggest that charge distribution in NBE-producing thunderstorms tends to vary systematically with altitude. | FeiFan Liu BaoYou Zhu HeLin Zhou GaoPeng Lu Ming Ma JiuHou Lei | 2023 | Earth and Planetary Physics2023,7,6: | 0 |
