1An Analytical Method for Calculating the Shielding Effectiveness of an Enclosure with an Oblique Rectangular Aperture显示文摘An efficient analytical method is proposed to calculate the Shielding effectiveness(SE)of an enclosure with an oblique rectangular aperture.This enclosure was first decomposed into two ones with horizontal rectangular apertures through mirror image and Green function theories.The SE of each decomposed enclosure was calculated by the Robinson’s method.The relationship between the SE of the original cavity and those of the decomposed ones was also derived analytically.The SE of the original cavity could be directly obtained from this analytical relationship.The accuracy of the proposed method was validated with measurements and the Transmission line matrix(TLM)solver.The results show that the efficiency was largely improved compared with the TLM solver.SU Donglin LIU Hongyi YANG Shunchuan ZHAO Zihua SUI Donghai 2019Chinese Journal of Electronics2019,28,4:5
2An adaptive scaled boundary finite element method by subdividing subdomains for elastodynamic problems显示文摘The scaled boundary finite element method(SBFEM) is a semi-analytical numerical method,which models an analysis domain by a small number of large-sized subdomains and discretises subdomain boundaries only.In a subdomain,all fields of state variables including displacement,stress,velocity and acceleration are semi-analytical,and the kinetic energy,strain energy and energy error are all integrated semi-analytically.These advantages are taken in this study to develop a posteriori h-hierarchical adaptive SBFEM for transient elastodynamic problems using a mesh refinement procedure which subdivides subdomains.Because only a small number of subdomains are subdivided,mesh refinement is very simple and efficient,and mesh mapping to transfer state variables from an old mesh to a new one is also very simple but accurate.Two 2D examples with stress wave propagation were modelled.The results show that the developed method is capable of capturing propagation of steep stress regions and calculating accurate dynamic responses,using only a fraction of degrees of freedom required by adaptive finite element method.ZHANG ZiHua 1,2,YANG ZhenJun 2,LIU GuoHua 1 & HU YunJin 1 1 College of Civil Engineering and Architecture,Zhejiang University,Hangzhou 310058,China 2 School of Engineering,University of Liverpool,L69 3GQ,UK 2011Science China(Technological Sciences)2011,54,S1:4
3Experimental study of structural damage identification based on modal parameters and decay ratio of acceleration signals显示文摘A novel damage assessment method based on the decay ratio of acceleration signals(DRAS)was proposed.Two experimental tests were used to show the efficiency.Three beams were gradually damaged,and then the changes of dynamic parameters were monitored from initial to failure state.In addition,a new method was compared with the linear modal-based damage assessment using wavelet transform(WT).The results clearly show that DRAS increases in linear elasticity state and microcrack propagation state,while DRAS decreases in macrocrack propagation state.Preliminary analysis was developed considering the beat phenomenon in the nonlinear state to explain the turn point of DRAS.With better sensibility of damage than modal parameters,probably DRAS is a promising damage indicator in damage assessment.Zhigen WU Guohua LIU Zihua ZHANG 2011Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering2011,5,1:3
4Downregulation of thioredoxin reductase 1 expression in the substantia nigra pars compacta of Parkinson's disease mice显示文摘Because neurons are susceptible to oxidative damage and thioredoxin reductase 1 is extensively distributed in the central nervous system and has antioxidant properties,we speculated that the enzyme may be involved in the pathogenesis of Parkinson’s disease.A Parkinson’s disease model was produced by intraperitoneal injection of 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine into C57BL/6 mice.Real-time reverse transcription-PCR,western blot analysis and colorimetric assay showed that the levels of thioredoxin reductase 1 mRNA and protein were decreased,along with a significant reduction in thioredoxin reductase activity,in the midbrain of Parkinson’s disease mice compared with normal mice.Immunohistochemical staining revealed that the number of thioredoxin reductase 1-positive neurons in the substantia nigra pars compacta of Parkinson’s disease mice was significantly decreased compared with normal mice.These experimental findings suggest that the expression of thioredoxin reductase 1 in the substantia nigra pars compacta of Parkinson’s disease mice is significantly decreased,and that the enzyme may be associated with disease onset.Zihua Liu Yuhong Jing Jie Yin Jiying Mu Tingting Yao Liping Gao 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,35:2
5Characterization of Early Fatigue Microstructure in AISI 321 Steel Using Eddy Current Non-destructive Methodology显示文摘Accumulative damage during early stage of fatigue in AISI 321 steel was investigated by eddy current test, atomic force microscopy, X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. Surface slip, dislocation, and strain-induced martensite were determined as the main damage types. Moreover, damage during the fatigue was found to be increased with the increasing fatigue cycles and load amplitude. The contribution of strain-induced martensite to the total eddy current amplitude(V max) was enhanced with the increase in its volume fraction. 73-Hydroxybutyrate ameliorates insulin resistance by inhibiting PPARγSer273 phosphorylation in type 2 diabetic mice显示文摘3-Hydroxybutyrate(3HB)is a small ketone body molecule produced endogenously by the body in the liver.Previous studies have shown that 3HB can reduce blood glucose level in type 2 diabetic(T2D)patients.However,there is no systematic study and clear mechanism to evaluate and explain the hypoglycemic effect of 3HB.Here we demonstrate that 3HB reduces fasting blood glucose level,improves glucose tolerance,and ameliorates insulin resistance in type 2 diabetic mice through hydroxycarboxylic acid receptor 2(HCAR2).Mechanistically,3HB increases intracellular calcium ion(Ca^(2+))levels by activating HCAR2,thereby stimulating adenylate cyclase(AC)to increase cyclic adenosine monophosphate(cAMP)concentration,and then activating protein kinase A(PKA).Activated PKA inhibits Raf1 proto-oncogene serine/threonine-protein kinase(Raf1)activity,resulting in a decrease in extracellular signal-regulated kinases 1/2(ERK1/2)activity and ultimately inhibiting peroxisome proliferator-activated receptorγ(PPARγ)Ser273 phosphorylation in adipocytes.Inhibition of PPARγSer273 phosphorylation by 3HB altered the expression of PPARγregulated genes and reduced insulin resistance.Collectively,3HB ameliorates insulin resistance in type 2 diabetic mice through a pathway of HCAR2/Ca^(2+)/cAMP/PKA/Raf1/ERK1/2/PPARγ.Yudian Zhang Zihua Li Xinyi Liu Xinyu Chen Shujie Zhang Yuemeng Chen Jiangnan Chen Jin Chen Fuqing Wu Guo-Qiang Chen 2023Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,6:0

10Antioxidant activity of the thioredoxin system显示文摘The thioredoxin system is composed of thioredoxin(Trx),thioredoxin reductase(TR)and reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate.Trx is an important antioxidant molecule that can resist cell death caused by various stresses and plays a prominent role in redox reactions.TR is a protein that contains selenium(selenocysteine),in three main forms,namely,TR1,TR2 and TR3.TR1,TR2 and TR3 are mainly distributed in the cytoplasm,mitochondria,and testes,respectively.TR can regulate cell growth and apoptosis.After a cell becomes cancerous,the expression of TR is increased to promote cell growth and metastasis.The Trx system is closely related to neurodegenerative diseases,parasitic infec-tions,acquired immunodeficiency syndrome,rheumatoid arthritis,hypertension,myocarditis,and so on.In addition,the Trx system can remove the reactive oxygen species in the body and keep the inside and outside of the cell in a balanced state.In summary,the Trx system is an important target for the drug treatment of many diseases.Zihua Liu 2023Biophysics Reports2023,9,1:0
11Clinical Application of PES Membrane Dialyzer显示文摘Objective The dialysate membrane can be classified into acetate membrane and synthetic membrane,while the latter can be further divided into polysulfone,polyacrylonitrile,etc.Polyethersulfone membrane is high molecular membrane material with excellent biocompatibility,stable mechanical properties,high temperature and pressure resistance,and good cleaning performance,which has been applied for more than 10 years.This trial is to assess the safety and efficacy of hollow polysulfone membrane fiber dialyzer with pattern number Enttex^(TM)-16LF(E60)for hemodialysis in patients with acute or chronic renal failure due to multiple factors.Methods Totally 76 patients receiving maintenance hemodialysis were included in a two-site,random,open label,two-stage,positive crossover and non inferiority validation study.The clinical efficacy and safety of the test device were observed,which was a hollow fiber dialyzer produced by Guangzhou Enttex Medical Products Co.,Ltd.,with polyethersulfone membrane imported from Germany.It was a low flux dialyzer with the pattern number of EnttexTM-16LF(E60).Inclusion criteria:①patients with acute or chronic renal failure due to various reasons who needed hemodialysis;②18 to 80 years old,gender unlimited;③patients who received stable dialysis for more than 3 months,regular hemodialysis 3 times a week,4 h at each time,blood flow rate of 200~350ml/min;④using bicarbonate dialysate at a flow rate of 500ml/min;⑤patients with arteriovenous fistula or who received artificial blood vessel puncture dialysis;received anticoagulation by heparin or low molecular weight heparin.Exclusion criteria:①patients needing heparin free dialysis for severe anemia,tumor and active bleeding;②patients with severe cardiac(gradeⅢcardiac function),hepatic(severe hepatitis and cirrhosis)and pulmonary diseases(severe respiratory failure).Results Comparison of parameters,including the changes of Kt/V,general creatinine and urea clearance rates and URR(urea reduction rate)shows no statistical significance in differences between the two devices,indicating that the test and control devices can equally and effectively eliminate toxins including creatinine and urea,etc.PPP and MITTP results are consistent.Comparison of ultrafiltration rates between two groups of patients shows no statistical difference.PPP and MITTP results are consistent,indicating that both the test device and control device can effectively eliminate water.In MITTP,electrolytes including K^+,Na^+,Cl^-,Ca^2+,HCO3^-,etc.show no statistical significance in difference between the test and control devices before and after dialysis(P>0.05).After treating by using test and control devices,body weight,serum potassium and phos-phorus all significantly decrease(P<0.001);serum Ca^2+,PO2,PCO2and HCO3^-all significantly increase(P<0.001).These results indicate that both the test and control devices can effectively eliminate serum potassium and phosphorus,and eliminate excess water in body,maintain the balance between liquid and electrolytes in patients.PPP and MITTP results are consistent.Conclusion This clinical trial confirms that hollow polyethersulfone membrane fiber dialyzer can be safely and effectively used in hemodialysis therapy.YUN Chen YANG Peidian LIANG Wenxue CHEN Yu CHEN Gangyi LIU Hongping OUYANG Zihua SONG Huifeng LI Yunyi YU Zongchao GUAN Baozhang DONG Xiangnan LIU Huanhuan Cao Rui ZHANG Zeyu FAN Lijing HU Bo HE Yongcheng SHI Mingjie XU Jun Yang Lifeng TANG Shuifu 2019临床医学工程2019,26,S01:0
12The Static Solution for the Layered Piezoelectric Bounded Domain with Side Face Load by the Modified SBFEM显示文摘The static response of two-dimensional horizontal layered piezoelectric bounded domain with side face load was investigated.In this paper,the modified scaled boundary finite element method(SBFEM)is provided as an effective semi analytical methodology.The method is used to solve the static problem for the layered piezoelectric bounded domain.The scaling line definition extends the SBFEM to be more suitable for analyzing the multilayered piezoelectric bounded domain.It avoids the limitations of original SBFEM in modeling the horizontal layered bounded domain.The modified SBFEM governing equation with piezoelectric medium is derived by introducing Duality variable in the Hamilton system.This derivation technology makes the progress be concise.The novel displacement and electric governing equations of the modified SBFEM is given together by the first time.The node forces can be expressed as power exponent function with radial coordinate by introducing the auxiliary variable and using the eigenvalue decomposition.The novel modified SBFEM solution of layered bounded domain with piezoelectric medium is solved.The new power expansion function of layered piezoelectric medium with side face load is proposed.This technology significantly extends the application range of modified SBFEM.The novel treatment of side face load for the layered piezoelectric bounded domain is proposed.Numerical studies are conducted to demonstrate the accuracy of proposed technique in handling with the static problem of layered bounded domain with piezoelectric medium for side face load.The influence of the side face load type and depth are discussed in detail.Shan Lu Jun Liu Gao Lin Zihua Zhang Pengchong Zhang 2018Advances in Applied Mathematics and Mechanics2018,10,1:0

14Research progress and development direction of low-temperature drilling fluid for Antarctic region显示文摘By combing the characteristics of drilling in Antarctic region, performance requirements on drilling fluid for Antarctic low temperature conditions, and research progress of low temperature drilling fluid, current problems of the drilling fluid have been sorted out, and the development direction of the drilling fluid has been pointed out. Drilling in the Antarctic region mainly includes drilling in snow, ice and subglacial rock formations, and drilling in Antarctic low temperature conditions will face problems in four aspects:(1) low temperature and large temperature changes in the drilling area;(2) likely well leakage and drillstring-sticking in the snow layer, creep in the ice layer, ice chip gathering jamming in the warm ice layer, well wall collapse in the subglacial rock formations;(3) lack of infrastructure and difficulty in logistical support;(4) fragile environment and low carrying capacity. After years of development, progresses have been made on low-temperature drilling fluids for the Antarctic region. Low-temperature petroleum-based drilling fluid, ethanol/ethylene glycol-based drilling fluid, ester-based drilling fluid and silicone oil-based drilling fluid have been developed.
