Micro-structural evolution and their effects on physical properties in different types of tectonically deformed coals显示文摘The macromolecular structure of tectonically deformed coals(TDC)may be determined by the deformation mechanisms of coal.Alterations of the macromolecular structure change the pore structure of TDC and thereby impact physical properties such as porosity and permeability. This study focuses on structure and properties of TDC from the Huaibei and Huainan coal mining areas of southern North China.Relationships between the macromolecular structure and the pore structure of TDC were analyzed using techniques such as X-ray diffraction,high-resolution transmission electron microcopy, and the low-temperature nitrogen adsorption. The results indicated that the directional stress condition can cause the arrangement of basic structural units(BSU)more serious and closer. And,the orientation is stronger in ductile deformed coal than in brittle deformed coal.Tectonic deformation directly influences the macromolecular structure of coal and consequently results in dynamic metamorphism.Because the size of BSU in brittle deformed coal increases more slowly than in ductile deformed coal, frictional heating and stress-chemistry of shearing areas might play a more important role, locally altering coal structure under stress,in brittle deformed coal.Strain energy is more significant in increasing the ductile deformation of coal.Furthermore, mesopores account for larger percentage of the nano-scale pore volume in brittle deformed coals, while mesopores volume in ductile deformed coal diminishes rapidly along with an increase in the proportion of micropores and sub-micropores.This research also approved that the deformations of macromolecular structures change nano-scale pore structures, which are very important for gas adsorption and pervasion space for gas. Therefore, the exploration and development potential of coal bed methane is promising for reservoirs that are subjected to a certain degree of brittle deformation(such as schistose structure coal, mortar structure coal and cataclastic structure coal). It also holds promise for TDC resulting from wrinkle structure coal of low ductile deformation and later superimposed by brittle deformation.Other kinds of TDC suffering from strong brittle-ductile and ductile deformation, such as scale structure coal and mylonitic structure coal, are difficult problems to resolve.Yiwen Ju Kray Luxbacher Xiaoshi Li Guochang Wang Zhifeng Yan Mingming Wei Liye Yu 2014International Journal of Coal Science & Technology2014,1,3:43
Effects of Wen Dan Tang on insomnia-related anxiety and levels of the brain-gut peptide Ghrelin显示文摘Ghrelin, a brain-gut peptide that induces anxiety and other abnormal emotions, contributes to the effects of insomnia on emotional behavior. In contrast, the traditional Chinese Medicine remedy Wen Dan Tang reduces insomnia-related anxiety, which may perhaps correspond to changes in the brain-gut axis. This suggests a possible relationship between Wen Dan Tang's pharmacological mechanism and the brain-gut axis. Based on this hypothesis, a sleep-deprived rat model was induced and Wen Dan Tang was administered using oral gavage during model establishment. Wen Dan Tang significantly reduced insomnia-related anxiety and prevented Ghrelin level decreases following sleep deprivation, especially in the hypothalamus. Increased expression of Ghrelin receptor mRNA in the hypothalamus was also observed, suggesting that reduced anxiety may be a result of Wen Dan Tang's regulation of Ghrelin-Ghrelin receptors.Liye Wang Yuehan Song Feng Li Yan Liu Jie Ma Meng Mao Fengzhi Wu Ying Wu Sinai Li Binghe Guan Xiaolan Liu 2014Neural Regeneration Research2014,9,2:16
Recursive modeling and online identification of lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicle applications显示文摘For safe and reliable operation of lithium-ion batteries in electric vehicles, the real-time monitoring of their internal states is important. The purpose of our study is to find an easily implementable, online identification method for lithium-ion batteries in electric vehicles. In this article,we propose an equivalent circuit model structure.Based on the model structure we derive the recursive mathematical description. The recursive extended least square algorithm is introduced to estimate the model parameters online. The accuracy and robustness are validated through experiments and simulations.Real-road driving cycle experiment shows that the proposed online identification method can achieve acceptable accuracy with the maximum error of less than 5.52%.In addition,it is proved that the proposed method can also be used to estimate the real-time SOH and SOC of the batteries.LI Yong WANG LiFang LIAO ChengLin WANG LiYe XU DongPin 2014Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,2:10
Different contribution of SBP and DBP variability to vascular events in patients with stroke显示文摘Background High blood pressure variability(BPV)is a novel risk factor for cardiovascular disease. However, the heterogeneity of systolic blood pressure variability(SBPV)and diastolic blood pressure variability(DBPV)for different vascular events remains unclear. This study aims to investigate whether SBPV or DBPV has different contribution to vascular events in patients with acute ischaemic stroke(IS)or transient ischaemic attack(TIA).Methods Data from the BOSS(blood pressure and clinical outcome in TIA or IS)study were examined for vascular events at 3-month and 1-year follow-up.BPV was defined as the SD and coefficient of variation(CV)of day-to day measurements within 3 months after IS/TIA.Vascular events include cardiovascular events(myocardial infarction, unstable angina, cardiac death and congestive heart failure)and cerebrovascular events(ischaemic or haemorrhagic stroke).Logistic regression model was used to test the associations between BPV and vascular events.results Of 2325 patients with IS or TIA,103(4.43%)experienced a recurrent stroke and 64(2.75%)had cardiovascular events within 3 months.Day-to day SBPV was only associated with stroke recurrence(BPVSD:OR,1.72,95%CI 1.09 to 2.71;BPVCV:1.86,95%CI 1.19 to 2.92),but not cardiovascular events(BPVSD:1.67,95%CI 0.94 to 2.94;BPVCV:1.51,95%CI 0.86 to 2.64).However,DBPV seems to be related to both stroke(BPVSD:1.60,95%CI 1.02 to 2.49;BPVCV:1.53,95%CI 0.99 to 2.37)and cardiovascular events(BPVSD:2.48,95%CI 1.37 to 4.48;BPVCV:1.92,95%CI 1.09 to 3.36).Similar results were found at 1 year. Conclusions For patients with IS/TIA,stroke recurrence was associated with both SBPV and DBPV;however, cardiovascular events seem to be only related to DBPV.Liye Dai Aichun Cheng Xiwa Hao Jie Xu Yingting Zuo Anxin Wang Xia Meng Hao Li Yilong Wang Xingquan Zhao Yongjun Wang 2020Stroke & Vascular Neurology2020,5,2:6
Science and prediction of monsoon heavy rainfall显示文摘With the increasing incidence of heavy rainfall events, particularly over the monsoon regions, the highly dense populations are more vulnerable[1].Research initiatives on observation, modeling, and prediction of monsoon heavy rainfall have been promoted actively by World Weather Research Programme's(WWRP)Working Group on Tropical Meteorology Research(WGTMR)of the World Meteorological Organization(WMO)since 2010.Series of monsoon-heavy-rainfall workshops were held in Beijing(2011),Petaling Jaya(2012),and New Delhi(2015)to benefit scientists worldwide and forecasters from the National Meteorological and Hydrological Services. An international Research and Development Project, namely, the Southern China Monsoon Rainfall Experiment(SCMREX)[2]was established in 2013 to coordinate field campaign experiments and to conduct scientific research on presummer(April-June)heavy rainfall processes in southern China.Yali Luo Liye Li Richard HJohnson Chih-Pei Chang Lianshou Chen Wai-Kin Wong Jing Chen Kalli Furtado John LMcBride Ajit Tyagi Nanette Lomarda Thierry Lefort Esperanza O.Cayanan 2019Science Bulletin2019,64,21:4
The effect of different deformation mechanisms on the chemical structure of anthracite coals显示文摘To study the effect of different deformation mechanisms on the chemical structure of anthracite coals and further understand the correlation between changed chemical structures and coal and gas outburst, ten groups of sub-high-temperature and sub-high-pressure deformation experiments were performed. All samples maintained primary structure, which were collected from the Qudi Mine in the southern Qinshui Basin of China. The samples were analyzed by ultimate analysis, Vitrinite Reflection(VR), Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy(FTIR), and Raman spectroscopy both before and after deformation experiments for contrasting. The results showed that the VR values of all samples after experiments were significantly higher than before experiments, which suggested that the metamorphism degree of anthracite coals was increased by deformation. The results also indicated that both temperature and strain rate had significant effects on the chemical structure of anthracite coals. At a high strain rate of 4×10?5 s?1, the deformation of the samples was mainly brittle in which the mechanical energy was transformed mainly into frictional energy. In this situation, all samples developed several distinct fractured surfaces and the change of chemical structures was not obvious. On the contrary, with the decrease of the strain rates, the ductile deformation was dominated and the mechanical energy was mainly transformed into strain energy, resulting in the accumulation of deformation energy confessed by increasing quantity of dislocation and creep in the coal's interior nucleus. The absorption in the aromatic ring groups increased; otherwise the absorption in the aliphatic structures and ether oxygen groups decreased rapidly. During these experiments, CO was collected from two experimental samples. The number of aromatic rings and the structure defects within the two generated gas samples increased and the degree of molecular structure orders decreased.XU RongTing LI HuiJun HOU QuanLin LI XiaoShi YU LiYe 2015Science China Earth Sciences2015,58,4:4
Does exercise have a protective effect on cognitive function under hypoxia? A systematic review with meta-analysis显示文摘Objective:This study aimed to examine(1)the independent effects of hypoxia on cognitive function and(2)the effects of exercise on cognition while under hypoxia. Methods:Design:Systematic review with meta-analysis.Data sources:PubMed,Scopus,Web of Science,PsychInfo, and SPORTDiscus were searched.Eligibility criteria for selecting studies:randomized controlled trials and nonrandomized controlled studies that investigated the effects of chronic or acute exercise on cognition under hypoxia were considered(Aim 2),as were studies investigating the effects of hypoxia on cognition(Aim 1).Results:In total,18 studies met our inclusionary criteria for the systematic review, and 12 studies were meta-analyzed.Exposure to hypoxia impaired attentional ability(standardized mean difference(SMD)=-0.4),executive function(SMD=-0.18),and memory function(SMD=-0.26),but not information processing(SMD=0.27).Aggregated results indicated that performing exercise under a hypoxia setting had a significant effect on cognitive improvement(SMD=0.3,95%confidence interval:0.14-0.45,I^2=54%,p<0.001).Various characteristics(e.g.,age,cognitive task type, exercise type, exercise intensity, training type, and hypoxia level)moderated the effects of hypoxia and exercise on cognitive function. Conclusion:Exercise during exposure to hypoxia improves cognitive function. This association appears to be moderated by individual and exercise/hypoxia-related characteristics.Myungjin Jung Liye Zou Jane Jie Yu Seungho Ryu Zhaowei Kong Lin Yang Minsoo Kang Jingyuan Lin Hong Li Lee Smith Paul D.Loprinzi 2020Journal of Sport and Health Science2020,9,6:3

Classification of snow cover days in western China and comparison with satellite remote sensing data显示文摘The daily snow cover data from 232 meteorological stations to the west of 105°E in China for the period 1951-2004 were used to classify the snow cover and analyze decadal variations of snow cover types in western China, and comparison was made between the observational data and those retrieved from passive microwave remote sensing data(SMMR and SSM/I) in 1980-2004.The results show that stable snow-covered areas included northern Xinjiang, the Tianshan Mountains, and the eastern Tibetan Plateau with more than 60 snow cover days;no snow cover was found in the center of the southern Xinjiang Basin, the Sichuan Basin, and southern Yunnan. In addition to the above-mentioned,there were unstable snow-covered areas in western China.Furthermore, the snow cover types in northern Xinjiang, the Tianshan Mountains, the Hexi Corridor, and the vast areas from Chengdu to Kunming were unchanged. In the 1980s,the south-north dividing line between the major snow-covered area and snow-free area advanced to its most southern position. The snow cover days calculated from satellite remote sensing were generally longer than those from observational data in western China, mainly in the higher-altitude mountains, the Hexi Corridor, and the western Sichuan Plateau.LiYe He DongLiang Li Lian Chen 2012Research in Cold and Arid Regions2012,4,3:2
Effect of low-frequency pulse percutaneous electric stimulation on peripheral nerve injuries at different sites显示文摘BACKGROUND: The postoperative recovery of nerve function in patients with peripheral nerve injury is always an important problem to solve after treatment. The electric stimulation induced electromagnetic field can nourish nerve, postpone muscular atrophy, and help the postoperative neuromuscular function. OBJECTIVE: To observe the effects of low-frequency pulse percutaneous electric stimulation on the functional recovery of postoperative patients with peripheral nerve injury, and quantitatively evaluate the results of electromyogram (EMG) examination before and after treatment. DESIGN: A retrospective case analysis. SETTING: The Sixth People’s Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University. PARTICIPANTS: Nineteen postoperative inpatients with peripheral nerve injury were selected from the Department of Orthopaedics, the Sixth People’s Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University from June 2005 to January 2006, including 13 males and 6 females aged 24-62 years with an average of 36 years old. There were 3 cases of brachial plexus nerve injury, 3 of median nerve injury, 7 of radial nerve injury, 3 of ulnar nerve injury and 3 of common peroneal nerve injury, and all the patients received probing nerve fiber restoration. Their main preoperative manifestations were dennervation, pain in limbs, motor and sensory disturbances. All the 19 patients were informed with the therapeutic program and items for evaluation. METHODS: ① Low-frequency pulse percutaneous electric stimulation apparatus: The patients were given electric stimulation with the TERESA cantata instrument (TERESA-0, Shanghai Teresa Health Technology, Co.,Ltd.). The patients were stimulated with symmetric square waves of 1-111 Hz, and the intensity was 1.2-5.0 mA, and it was gradually adjusted according to the recovered conditions of neural regeneration following the principle that the intensity was strong enough and the patients felt no obvious upset. They were treated for 4-24 weeks, 10-30 minutes for each time, 1-3 times a day, and 6 weeks as a course. ② EMG examination was applied to evaluate the recoveries of recruitment, motor conduction velocity (MCV) and sensory conduction velocity (SCV) before and after treatment. The patients were examined with the EMG apparatus (DISA2000C, Danmark) before and after the treatment of percutaneous electric stimulation. ③ Standards for evaluating the effects included cured (complete recovery of motor functions, muscle strength of grade 5, no abnormality in EMG examination), obviously effective [general recovery of motor function, muscle strength of grade 4, no or a few denervation potentials, motor conduction velocity (MCV) and sensory conduction velocity (SCV)], improved (partial recovery of motor function, muscle strength of grade 3, denervation potentials and reinneration potentials, slowed MCV and SCV, invalid (no obvious changes of motor function). MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ① Ameliorated degree of the nerve function of the postoperative patients with peripheral nerve injury treated with percutaneous electric stimulation; ② Changes of EMG examination before and after treatment. RESULTS: All the 19 postoperative patients with peripheral nerve injury were involved in the analysis of results. ① Comparison of nerve function before and after treatment in 19 patients with peripheral nerve injury of different sites: For the patients with radial nerve injury (n=7), the nerve functions all completely recovered after 8-week treatment, and the cured and obvious rate was 100% (7/7); For the patients with brachial plexus nerve injury (n=3), 1 case had no obvious improvement, and the cured and obvious rate was 67% (2/3); For the patients with common peroneal nerve injury (n=3), the extension of foot dorsum generally recovered in 1 case of nerve contusion after 4-week treatment, and the cured and obvious rate was 67% (2/3); For the patients with median nerve injury (n=3), muscle strength was obviously recovered, and the cured and obvious rate was 100% (3/3); For the patients with ulnar nerve injury (n=3), 1 case only had recovery of partial senses, and the cured and obvious rate was 67% (2/3). Totally 9 cases were cured, 7 were obviously effective, 1 was improved, and only 2 were invalid. After 4 courses, the cured rate of damaged nerve function after four courses was 47% (9/19), and effective rate was 89% (17/19). ② Comparison of EMG examination before and after treatment: Before and after percutaneous electric stimulation, he effective rates of recruitment, MCV and SCV were 89% (17/19), 58% (11/19), 47% (9/19) respectively, and there were extremely obvious differences (P < 0.01). CONCLUSION: ① Low-frequency pulse percutaneous electric stimulation can improve the nerve function of postoperative patients with peripheral nerve injury of different sites, especially that the injuries of radial nerve and median nerve recover more obviously. ②Percutaneous electric stimulation can ameliorate the indexes of EMG examination, especially the recruitment, in postoperative patients with peripheral nerve injury.Jinwu Wang Liye Chen Qi Li Weifeng Ni Min Zhang Shangchun Guo Bingfang Zeng 2006Neural Regeneration Research2006,1,3:1

Diester Derivatives from Chemically Modified Waste Cooking Oil as Substitute for Petroleum Based Lubricating Oils显示文摘In order to provide a new way for waste cooking oil(WCO) resource utilization, several diester derivatives were obtained from WCO through a three-step chemical modifications, viz.: transesterification, epoxidation and oxirane ring opening with carboxylic acids. The effects of the chain length of side chain groups on the viscosity, acid value, low temperature fluidity, thermo-oxidative stability, tribological properties and surface tension of diester derivatives were investigated. The results showed that increasing the chain length of side chain groups had a positive influence on the viscosity, viscosity index, acid value, pour point, friction coefficient and wear scar diameter along with a negative influence on the oxidation onset temperature, volatile loss, insoluble deposit, maximum non-seizure load and surface tension. These diester derivatives exhibited improved physicochemical and tribological properties that make themselves promising environmentally friendly biolubricant basestocks.Xiang Shuo Chen Ligong Xu Lan Li Liang Yang Xin Zhu Liye 2015China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2015,17,2:1
