Although the Mg2+ transport mechanism has been welldocumented in bacteria,less is known about Mg2+ transporters in eukaryotes. The AtMGT gene family encoding putative magnesium transport proteins had been described previously. We report here that one of the Arabidopsis MGT family members,the AtMGT7 gene,encodes two mRNAs that have resulted from alternative splicing variants,designated AtMGT7a and AtMGT7b. Interestingly,the two mRNA variants were expressed with different patterns with AtMGT7a expressing in all organs,but AtMGT7b appearing only in root and flowers. The AtMGT7a variant functionally complemented a bacterial mutant lacking Mg2+ transport capacity,whereas AtMGT7b did not. The 63Ni2+ tracer uptake analysis in the bacterial model showed that AtMGT7a mediated low-affinity transport of Mg2+. Consistent with the complementation assay result,63Ni2+ tracer uptake analysis revealed that AtMGT7b did not transport Mg2+. | 8 | In vitro and in vivo investigation of bacterial cellulose dressing containing uniform silver sulfadiazine nanoparticles for burn wound healing显示文摘Silver sulfadiazine(SSD) particles in homogeneous dispersion state were prepared by an ultrasonic method and then nano- and microparticles were separated using centrifugation. SSD particles with narrow size distribution were impregnated with bacterial cellulose(BC) to produce BC–SSD composite membrane used as burn wound dressing. A scanning electron microscope(SEM) was used to examine the surface morphology of BC–SSD membranes. The incorporation of SSD in BC–SSD was confirmed by X-ray diffraction(XRD). Antimicrobial tests in vitro indicated that BC–SSD showed excellent antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli. The effects of BC–SSD on burn wound healing were assessed by rat models. The comparative study confirmed that the wound treated with BC–SSD showed high healing rate. The bacteria count in BC–SSD group was far less than control group. Histological analysis showed that epithelialization progressed better in wound treated with BC–SSD. | 10 | Literature-based analysis on relationship of symptoms,drugs and therapies in treatment of intestinal diseases显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate clinical articles published in the past 30 years using the Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)theory of the lung being connected with large intestine to treat intestinal diseases.We also analyzed the relationship between symptoms,drugs and therapies with data-excavating technology to aid management.METHODS:After retrieving relevant clinical articles,we set up a database,used Microsoft Structured Query Language Server 2005 Analysis Services as a data-excavating tool,and applied the association rule to study the relationship between the symptoms,drugs and therapies of intestinal diseases.RESULTS:The key symptoms of dyschesia,constipation,abdominal fullness,fatigue and pale tongue could be treated with Kuxingren(Semen Armeniacae Amarum),Huangqi(Radix Astragali Mongolici)and Gualou(Fructus et Semen Trichosanthis)to invigorate Qi and moisten the intestine.Among these agents,Kuxingren(Semen Armeniacae Amarum)was used most frequently.Clearing Fu-organs was the most prevalent therapy for abdominal fullness,dyschesia,constipation and red tongue.Clearing Fu-organs could be achieved with Kuxingren(Semen Armeniacae Amarum)and Gualou(Fructus et Semen Trichosanthis),whereas Qi could be invigorated using Huangqi(Radix Astragali Mongolici),Gancao(Radix Glycyrrhizae),Baizhu(Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae)and Kuxingren(Semen Armeniacae Amarum).Moistening the intestine was possible with Kuxingren(SemenArmeniacae Amarum),Huomaren(Fructus Cannabis)and Jiegeng(Radix Platycodi).Also,moistening the lungs was done with Kuxingren(Semen Armeniacae Amarum),ventilating the lungs with Kuxingren(Semen Armeniacae Amarum)and Gualou(Fructus et Semen Trichosanthis),and nourishing the lungs with Huangqi(Radix Astragali Mongolici),Gancao(Radix Glycyrrhizae)and Kuxingren(Semen Armeniacae Amarum).These data demonstrated that Kuxingren(SemenArmeniacaeAmarum)was a key agent.CONCLUSION:Our analyses of the literature showed clear relationships between symptoms(constipation,dyschesia,abdominal fullness),drugs[Gualou(Fructus et Semen Trichosanthis),Kuxingren(Semen Armeniacae Amarum),Huangqi(Radix Astragali Mongolici)]and therapies(moistening the intestine,clearing Fu-organs,invigorating Qi,ventilating the lungs). | Luan Gao Jian Wang Yong Deng Fenggang Li Sihua Gao | 2014 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2014,34,1: | 5 |

Currently, organic structure directing agents(OSDAs) are necessary in the conventional route for the synthesis of this core-shell zeolite under hydrothermal conditions, which is costly and environmental-unfriendly. In this research, a synthesis of the core-shell structured ZSM-5@Silicalite-1 zeolite with a strategy of alcohol filling and zeolite seeding without any organic template or solvent is exhibited. The obtained products are well characterized by X-ray powder diffractometer(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM), N2 sorption isotherms, solid magic angle spinning(MAS) NMR, temperature-programmed-desorption of ammonia(NH3-TPD), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) techniques, in order to confirm the core-shell structure. | 19 | The Influence of Diabetes, Hypertension, and Hyperlipidemia on the Onset of Age-Related Macular Degeneration in North China: The Kailuan Eye Study显示文摘Objective To analyze the prevalence of dry and wet age-related macular degeneration(AMD)in patients with diabetes,hypertension and hyperlipidemia,and to analyze the risk factors for AMD.Methods A population-based cross-sectional epidemiologic study was conducted involving 14,440 individuals.We assessed the prevalence of dry and wet AMD in diabetic and non-diabetic subjects and analyzed the risk factors for AMD.Results The prevalence of wet AMD in diabetic and non-diabetic patients was 0.3%and 0.5%,respectively,and the prevalence of dry AMD was 17%and 16.4%,respectively.The prevalence of wet AMD in healthy,hypertensive,hyperlipidemic,and hypertensive/hyperlipidemic populations was 0.5%,0.3%,0.2%,and 0.7%,respectively.The prevalence of dry AMD in healthy,hypertensive,hyperlipidemic,and hypertensive/hyperlipidemic populations was 16.6%,16.2%,15.2%,and 17.2%,respectively.Age,sex,body mass index,and use of hypoglycemic drugs or lowering blood pressure drugs were corrected in the risk factor analysis of AMD.Diabetes,diabetes/hypertension,diabetes/hyperlipidemia,and diabetes/hypertension/hyperlipidemia were analyzed.None of the factors analyzed in the current study increased the risk for the onset of AMD.Conclusion There was no significant difference in the prevalence of wet and dry AMD among diabetic and non-diabetic subjects.Similarly,there was no significant difference in the prevalence of wet and dry AMD among subjects with hypertension and hyperlipidemia.Diabetes co-existing with hypertension and hyperlipidemia were not shown to be risk factors for the onset of dry AMD. | ZHANG Yong Peng WANG Ya Xing ZHOU Jin Qiong WANG Qian YAN Yan Ni YANG Xuan YANG Jing Yan ZHOU Wen Jia WANG Ping SHEN Chang YANG Ming LUAN Ya Nan WANG Jin Yuan WU Shou Ling CHEN Shuo Hua WANG Hai Wei FANG Li Jian WAN Qian Qian ZHU Jing Yuan NIE Zi Han CHEN Yu Ning XIE Ying JONAS JB WEI Wen Bin | 2022 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2022,35,7: | 2 |
| 20 | Shikonin alleviates collagen-induced arthritis mice by inhibiting M1 macrophage polarization显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of shikonin(SKN) on M1 and M2 polarization of macrophages both in vitro and in vivo. METHODS: Collagen-induced arthritis(CIA) in male DBA/1 mice were treated with a dose of 4 mg/kg/day of SKN for 23 d(n = 6/group). The histopathology of inflamed joints in CIA mice was evaluated to test the antiarthritic effect of SKN. M1/M2 polarization of macrophages induced by lipopolysaccharide(LPS) and interferon(IFN)-γ or interleukin(IL)-4 and IL-13, were used to assess the effect of SKN(0.05, 0.1, and 0.2 μM). The effect of SKN on the protein expression of nitric oxide synthase, arginase, CD68, and CD206 was evaluated using western blot analysis. RESULTS: The results of this study revealed that SKN delayed the arthritis feet symptom score, reduced the incidence rate of arthritis, and relieved the inflammation of joints in CIA mice. SKN inhibited M1 macrophage polarization but did not affect M2 macrophage polarization in the joints of CIA mice. Moreover, SKN inhibited M1 polarization induced by LPS and IFN-γ, but did not affect M2 polarization induced by IL-4 and IL-13.
