1Biomass-derived Porous Carbon Materials for Supercapacitor Electrodes:A Review显示文摘The development of renewable,cost-efficient,and environmentally friendly electrode materials with excellent performance is urgently needed for improving supercapacitors(SCs).Recently,biomass-derived porous carbons(BPCs)have received increasing attention due to their excellent physical and chemical properties,widespread availability,and low production cost.In this review,the progress in preparing BPCs and the properties of prepared BPCs are presented and discussed.In addition,the applications of BPCs as electrode materials for supercapacitors are also summarized.More importantly,the pore structure and surface properties of BPCs are all determining factors to improve electrochemical performance.Moreover,a high energy density and power density can be pursued by using composites based on BPCs as electrode materials,of which combining transition metallic oxide with BPCs is one of the most attractive selections.Therefore,rational design of BPCs with respect to the supercapacitor's performance should be conducted in the future.Huimei Wang Zhong Liu Lanfeng Hui Lan Ma 2020Paper And Biomaterials2020,5,2:10
2Effects of chemical modification on physicochemical properties and adsorption behavior of sludge-based activated carbon显示文摘This study aimed to explore the adsorption performance of sludge-based activated carbon(SBC)towards dissolved organic matters(DOMs)removal from sewage,and investigated the modification effect of different types of chemicals on the structure of synthesized SBC.Waste activated sludge(WAS)was used as a carbon source,and HCl,HNO 3,and Na OH were used as different types of chemicals to modify the SBC.With the aid of chemical activation,the modified SBC showed higher adsorption performances on DOMs removal with maximum adsorption of 29.05 mg/g and second-order constant(k)of 0.1367(L/mol/sec)due to the surface elution of ash and minerals by chemicals.The surface elemental composition of MSBC suggested that the content of C-C and C-O functional groups on the surface of modified sludge-based activated carbon(MSBC)played an important role on the adsorption capacities of MSBC towards DOMs removal in sewage.Additionally,the residual molecular weight of DOMs in sewage was investigated using a 3-dimension fluorescence excitationemission matrix(3 D-EEM)and high-performance size exclusion chromatography(HP-SEC).Results showed that the chemical modification significantly improved the adsorption capacity of MSBC on humic acids(HA)and aromatic proteins(APN),and both of Na OH-MSBC and HCl-MSBC were effective for a wide range of different AMW DOMs removal from sewage,while the HNO 3-MSBC exhibited poorly on AMW organics of 2,617 Da and 409 Da due to the reducing content of macropore.In brief,this study provides reference values for the impact of the chemicals of the activation stage before the SBCs application.Chunxu Wu Lanfeng Li Hao Zhou Jing Ai Hongtao Zhang Jialin Tao Dongsheng Wang Weijun Zhang 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,2:7
3Dynamic culture of a thermosensitive collagen hydrogel as an extracellular matrix improves the construction of tissue-engineered peripheral nerve显示文摘Tissue engineering technologies offer new treatment strategies for the repair of peripheral nerve injury, but cell loss between seeding and adhesion to the scaffold remains inevitable. A thermosensitive collagen hydrogel was used as an extracellular matrix in this study and combined with bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells to construct tissue-engineered peripheral nerve composites in vitro. Dynamic culture was performed at an oscillating frequency of 0.5 Hz and 35° swing angle above and below the horizontal plane. The results demonstrated that bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells formed membrane-like structures around the poly-L-lactic acid scaffolds and exhibited regular alignment on the composite surface. Collagen was used to fill in the pores, and seeded cells adhered onto the poly-L-lactic acid fibers. The DNA content of the bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells was higher in the composites constructed with a thermosensitive collagen hydrogel compared with that in collagen I scaffold controls. The cellular DNA content was also higher in the thermosensitive collagen hydrogel composites constructed with the thermosensitive collagen hydrogel in dynamic culture than that in static culture. These results indicate that tissue-engineered composites formed with thermosensitive collagen hydrogel in dynamic culture can maintain larger numbers of seeded cells by avoiding cell loss during the initial adhesion stage. 5Preparation of High-precision Electrospun Nanoair Filter Paper for Air Purification显示文摘Electrospinning technology has become a research hotspot becauseof its advantages, such as simple operation, low cost, large specific surfacearea, high porosity, and good fiber continuity. Here, a new type of compositenanoair filter paper was prepared using electrospinning technology. Toimprove the practicability of air filter base paper, phenolic resin was used as acuring agent to improve the strength. The results show that the electrospunnanoair filter paper with air filter paper as the receiving substrate andpolyvinyl alcohol (PVA) solution as the spinning solution excellentlyperformed in all aspects. 8Crystal structures of NAC domains of human nascent polypeptide-associated complex (NAC) and its αNAC subunit显示文摘Nascent polypeptide associated complex(NAC)and its two isolated subunits,αNAC and βNAC,play important roles in nascent peptide targeting.We determined a 1.9Åresolution crystal structure of the interaction core of NAC heterodimer and a 2.4Åresolution crystal structure ofαNAC NAC domain homodimer.These structures provide detailed information of NAC heterodimerization and αNAC homodimerization.We found that the NAC domains of αNAC and βNAC share very similar folding despite of their relative low identity of amino acid sequences.Furthermore,different electric charge distributions of the two subunits at the NAC interface provide an explanation to the observation that the heterodimer of NAC complex is more stable than the single subunit homodimer.In addition,we successfully built a βNAC NAC domain homodimer model based on homologous modeling,suggesting that NAC domain dimerization is a general property of the NAC family.These 3D structures allow further studies on structurefunction relationship of NAC.Lanfeng Wang Wenchi Zhang Lu Wang Xuejun C.Zhang Xuemei Li Zihe Rao 2010Protein & Cell2010,1,4:1

11Control Effect of UAV Low Volume Spray Technology on Thrips and Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus in Tobacco Field显示文摘[Objectives]The paper was to explore the influence of unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)low volume spray technology on the control effect of viruliferous thrips and tomato spotted wilt virus(TSWV)under different pesticide concentrations,and to explore the effective control nodes and methods of thrips and TSWV.[Methods]According to the occurrence characteristics of thrips and TSWV,the field control effects of 4 pesticides on thrips and TSWV were tested by UAV with the thrips number and disease index as indicators,following the principle of regional and periodic control trials.[Results]In the groups of UAV and artificial prevention and control,4 agents were used alternatively,including 1%emamectin benzoate ME,1.7%abamectin imidacloprid ME,5%emamectin benzoate WDG,and 30%pyriproxyfen dinotefuran SL.There was no significant difference in the control effect of thrips and TSWV among treatment 1(recommended dosage of UAV agent),treatment 2(reduction of recommended dosage of UAV agent by 25%)and treatment 4(recommended dosage of artificial control agent),and the control effects on thrips were more than 83.16%in the 3 treatments.The disease index of TSWV in the 3 treatments decreased from 8.64±1.37 in the blank control group to less than 3,which reached the prevention and control threshold.But treatment 3(reduction of recommended dosage of UAV agent by 50%)did not reach the prevention and control threshold.The disease index of TSWV in the blank control area increased with the increase of the number of live nymphs of thrips,and there was a significant positive correlation,with good fitness.[Conclusions]UAV has a significant impact on the control effect of thrips and TSWV under different pesticide concentrations.In the actual flight control application,it is recommended that the amount of the pesticides is about 3/4 and not less than 1/2 of that of the artificial application.The control area should be extended to 100 m of the ridge of the tobacco field,and UAV is used periodically to control thrips and TSWV for 5 times from pre-transplanting stage to pre-squaring stage of flue-cured tobacco.The control effect is significantly different from the traditional artificial application.Zefan LIU Dean XIE Jiabao HAN Yanfen XIE Li MA Siyuan GAO Ruiqi PENG Yuting ZHAO Xiangze FU Wengang CHENG Yonghong FENG Yan ZHANG Huaping ZHANG Ying HUANG Leijie DAI Lanfeng WANG 2023Plant Diseases and Pests2023,14,4:0
12A human monoclonal antibody neutralizes SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variants bytargeting the upstream region of spikeprotein HR2 motif显示文摘The continuous emergence of new severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)variants meansthere is a need to explore additional strategies to develop broad-spectrum vaccines or therapeutics for individuals remaining at risk of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).Neutralizing monoclonal antibody(mAb)that binds to theconserved S2 subunit of the SARS-CoV-2 spike(S)protein alone,or in combination with mAb that binds to the receptor-binding domain(RBD)of S protein,might be effective in eliciting protection from infection by a variety of SARS-CoV2 variants.Using high-throughput single-cell immunoglobulin sequencing of B cells from COVID-19-convalescent donors,we identified a high-affinity S2-specific mAb-39,that could inhibit original SARS-CoV-2 strain,Omicron BA.1,BA.2.86,BA.4,BA.5,and EG.5.1 S protein-mediated membrane fusion,leading to the neutralization of these pseudoviralinfections.Moreover,mAb-39 could also improve the neutralizing activity of anti-RBD antibody against the highlyneutralization-resistant Omicron variants.Molecular docking and point mutation analyses revealed that mAb-39 recognized epitopes within the conserved upstream region of the heptad repeat 2(HR2)motif of the S2 subunit.Collectively,these findings demonstrate that targeting the conserved upstream region of the HR2 motif(e.g.,using mAbs)provides anovel strategy for preventing the infection of SARS-CoV-2 and its variants.Hang Su Jun Zhang Zhenfei Yi Sajid Khan Mian Peng Liang Ye Alan Bao Han Zhang Guangli Suo Qian Li Housheng Zheng Dandan Wu Thomas J.Kipps Lanfeng Wang Zhenghong Lin Suping Zhang 2024hLife2024,2,3:0
13The Physalis floridana genome provides insights into the biochemical and morphological evolution of Physalis fruits显示文摘The fruits of Physalis(Solanaceae)have a unique structure,a lantern-like fruiting calyx known as inflated calyx syndrome(ICS)or the Chinese lantern,and are rich in steroid-related compounds.However,the genetic variations underlying the origin of these characteristic traits and diversity in Physalis remain largely unknown.Here,we present a high-quality chromosome-level reference genome assembly of Physalis floridana(~1.40Gb in size)with a contig N50 of~4.87Mb.Through evolutionary genomics and experimental approaches,we found that the loss of the SEP-like MADS-box gene MBP21 subclade is likely a key mutation that,together with the previously revealed mutation affecting floral MPF2 expression,might have contributed to the origination of ICS in Physaleae,suggesting that the origination of a morphological novelty may have resulted from an evolutionary scenario in which one mutation compensated for another deleterious mutation.Moreover,the significant expansion of squalene epoxidase genes is potentially associated with the natural variation of steroid-related compounds in Physalis fruits.The results reveal the importance of gene gains(duplication)and/or subsequent losses as genetic bases of the evolution of distinct fruit traits,and the data serve as a valuable resource for the evolutionary genetics and breeding of solanaceous crops.Jiangjie Lu Meifang Luo Li Wang Kunpeng Li Yongyi Yu Weifei Yang Pichang Gong Huihui Gao Qiaoru Li Jing Zhao Lanfeng Wu Mingshu Zhang Xueyang Liu Xuemei Zhang Xian Zhang Jieyu Kang Tongyuan Yu Zhimin Li Yuannian Jiao Huizhong Wang Chaoying He 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:0
