1Mating patterns and pollen dispersal in a Japanese larch(Larix kaempferi) clonal seed orchard: a case study显示文摘Pollination dynamics highly determines the genetic quality of seed orchard crops. However, there is less research about the effect of mating patterns on seed productivity of orchard crops. So far, clonal seed orchards have been producing genetically improved seedlings used for most Japanese larch(Larix kaempferi(Lamb.) Carr.) plantations in China. In the present study, a total of 17 highly variable simple sequence repeat(SSR) markers were used for genotyping a progeny trial population consisting of 647 open-pollinated progenies germinated from seeds which were collected from 63 maternal clones with 140 potential paternal clones in a Japanese larch clonal seed orchard in China. Paternity analysis was used in the present case study in order to evaluate the level of paternal gametic contribution, estimate pollen contamination and selfing rates, and investigate pollination patterns,pollen dispersal patterns and the impact of mating patterns on seed productivity of orchard crops. We observed 93.7% of the success rate of the parental assignment, unequal paternal gametic contribution(0–12.4%) with 6.3% of the progenies derived from pollen contamination or unsampled pollen donors, and absence of evidence for selfing. We also found that pollination rate highly depended on the distance between pollen donors and maternal parents, the majority of the identified crossing(65.7%)occurred between clones within a 150-m radius, and large variations in growth performance existed among the paternal halfsiblings. Progeny growth performance(diameter at breast(DBH) and height(HGT)) was measured at Age-20 in order to investigate the impact of mating patterns on timber production of orchard crops. As either the paternal or maternal, two clones(i.e., clones Z38 and Z62) were identified to have produced progenies with higher average stem volume breeding values than that of all of the progenies. Specifically, the genetic gains for volume were 3.53% for the two clones as paternal parents, and 8.26% as the maternal parents at Age-20. Thus, both elite clones were ideal candidates for the construction of next-generation clonal seed orchards due to their synchronous reproductive phenology with greater crossing rate and higher genetic gain. 3Development of an efficient contact-friction model for high-fidelity cargo airdrop simulation显示文摘High-fidelity cargo airdrop simulation requires the contact dynamics between an aircraft and a cargo to be modeled accurately. This paper presents a general and efficient contact-friction model for simulation of aircraft-cargo coupling dynamics during airdrops. The proposed approach has the same essence as that of the finite element node-to-segment contact formulation, which leads to a flexible, straight forward, and efficient code implementation. The formulation is developed under an arbitrary moving frame with both the aircraft and the cargo being treated as general six-degree-of-freedom rigid bodies, and thus it eliminates the restrictions of lateral symmetric assumptions in most existing methods. Moreover, the aircraft-cargo coupling algorithm is discussed in detail, and some practical implementation details are presented. 4Enhanced copper recovery from low grade copper sulfide ores through bioleaching using residues produced by fermentation of agricultural wastes显示文摘Effects of residues produced by agricultural wastes fermentation(AWF)on low grade copper sulfide ores bioleaching,copper recovery,and microbial community were investigated.The results indicated that adding appropriate bulk of AWF made contributions to low grade copper sulfide ores bioleaching,which may be mainly realized through reducing the passivation layer formed by Fe3+hydrolysis.Improved copper recovery(78.35%)and bacteria concentration(9.56×10^(7)cells·mL^(−1))were yielded in the presence of 5 g·L^(−1)AWF.The result of 16S rDNA analysis demonstrated that microbial community was differentiated by adding AWF.Bacteria proportion,such as Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans,Moraxella osloensis,and Lactobacillus acetotolerans changed distinctly.Great difference between samples was showed according to beta diversity index,and the maximum value reached 0.375.Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans accounted for the highest proportion throughout the bioleaching process,and that of sample in the presence of 5 g·L^(−) AWF reached 28.63%.The results should show reference to application of agricultural wastes and low grade copper sulfide ores.Wei Chen Shenghua Yin Qing Song Leiming Wang Xun Chen 2022International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2022,29,12:1

8Partitioning of rare earth elements and yttrium(REY)in five coal-fired power plants in Guizhou,Southwest China显示文摘As indispensable strategic materials for high-tech industries,rare earth elements and yttrium(REY)have become particularly important in recent years,raising the demand of developing new approaches for reclamation of REY from REY-rich materials such as coal combustion products(CCPs).In this study,five coal-fired power plants(CFPPs)in Guizhou of southwest China were selected for investigating REY concentrations of solid samples,atmospheric emissions,and recovery potentials.REY concentrations of feed fuels are higher in this study(147.2-468.6 mg/kg)than what have been reported previously for coals in China and the world.REY atmospheric emissions are extremely low(38.70-180.11 mg REY/t coal).REY are enriched in bottom ash and fly ash,with average of 658±296 mg/kg and maximum of 1257 mg/kg from the five CFPPs.Relative enrichment factors(REF)of REY in bottom ash and fly ash compared with the feed fuel are 0.86-1.02 and 0.91-1.04,respectively.REY concentrations in desulfurized gypsum are very low(6-17 mg/kg),and that is mostly inherited from limestone.Critical REY(Nd,Eu,Tb,Dy,Y,and Er)in bottom/fly ash account for 34%-39%of the total REY and the outlook coefficients(Cout1)are in the range of 0.89-1.11.This study indicates a promising prospect to reclaim REY from REYrich CCPs(bottom and fly ash)in CFPPs in Guizhou,especially in the central-north Guizhou,although such practices require further technology advancement.Zhonggen Li Xinyu Li Leiming Zhang Shan Li Ji Chen Xinbin Feng Dongbo Zhao Qingfeng Wang Zhixi Gao Bailian Xiong 2020Journal of Rare Earths2020,38,11:1

11Altitude shape genetic and phenotypic variations in growth curve parameters of Larix kaempferi显示文摘To study the effects of geoclimatic variables of provenances on growth phenotypes and selected plus provenances,over 3000 trees of 22-year-old Larix kaempferi were evaluated from trials established in two climate zones for provenance selection and to explore the influence of climate variables on provenance performance.The material was replicated plantings of 84 open pollinated families from six provenances distributed in the mountains of central Japan.Provenance variation was observed in most age groups and the heritability of growth traits showed large differences.The phenotypic maximum value of height and diameter were significantly positive with altitude,and mean annual precipitation being important factors.Diameter at breast height growth was significantly negative with altitude and spring rainfall.The Ina provenance of relatively high altitudes,was well adapted to a variety of climates.Altitude might be the driving force for phenotypic and genetic variations and local adaptation.Yalin Zhang Leiming Dong Yunhui Xie Dongsheng Chen Xiaomei Sun 2023Journal of Forestry Research2023,34,2:0
12Semi-asynchronous personalized federated learning for short-term photovoltaic power forecasting显示文摘Accurate forecasting for photovoltaic power generation is one of the key enablers for the integration of solar photovoltaic systems into power grids.Existing deep-learning-based methods can perform well if there are sufficient training data and enough computational resources.However,there are challenges in building models through centralized shared data due to data privacy concerns and industry competition.Federated learning is a new distributed machine learning approach which enables training models across edge devices while data reside locally.In this paper,we propose an efficient semi-asynchronous federated learning framework for short-term solar power forecasting and evaluate the framework performance using a CNN-LSTM model.We design a personalization technique and a semi-asynchronous aggregation strategy to improve the efficiency of the proposed federated forecasting approach.Thorough evaluations using a real-world dataset demonstrate that the federated models can achieve significantly higher forecasting performance than fully local models while protecting data privacy,and the proposed semi-asynchronous aggregation and the personalization technique can make the forecasting framework more robust in real-world scenarios.Weishan Zhang Xiao Chen Ke He Leiming Chen Liang Xu Xiao Wang Su Yang 2023Digital Communications and Networks2023,9,5:0
13Mitochondrion-processed TERC regulates senescence without affecting telomerase activities显示文摘Mitochondrial dysfunctions play major roles in ageing.How mitochondrial stresses invoke downstream responses and how specificity of the signaling is achieved, however, remains unclear. We have previously discovered that the RNA component of Telomerase TERC is imported into mitochondria, processed to a shorter form TERC-53, and then exported back to the cytosol. Cytosolic TERC-53 levels respond to mitochondrial functions, but have no direct effect on these functions, suggesting that cytosolic TERC-53 functions downstream of mitochondria as a signal of mitochondrial functions. Here, we show that cytosolic TERC-53 plays a regulatory role on cellular senescence and is involved in cognition decline in 10 months old mice, independent of its telomerase function. Manipulation of cytosolic TERC-53 levels affects cellular senescence and cognition decline in 10 months old mouse hippocampi without affecting telomerase activity, and most importantly, affects cellular senescence in terc^-/- cells. 14A Survey on Adversarial Examples in Deep Learning显示文摘Adversarial examples are hot topics in the field of security in deep learning.The feature,generation methods,attack and defense methods of the adversarial examples are focuses of the current research on adversarial examples.This article explains the key technologies and theories of adversarial examples from the concept of adversarial examples,the occurrences of the adversarial examples,the attacking methods of adversarial examples.This article lists the possible reasons for the adversarial examples.This article also analyzes several typical generation methods of adversarial examples in detail:Limited-memory BFGS(L-BFGS),Fast Gradient Sign Method(FGSM),Basic Iterative Method(BIM),Iterative Least-likely Class Method(LLC),etc.Furthermore,in the perspective of the attack methods and reasons of the adversarial examples,the main defense techniques for the adversarial examples are listed:preprocessing,regularization and adversarial training method,distillation method,etc.,which application scenarios and deficiencies of different defense measures are pointed out.This article further discusses the application of adversarial examples which currently is mainly used in adversarial evaluation and adversarial training.Finally,the overall research direction of the adversarial examples is prospected to completely solve the adversarial attack problem.There are still a lot of practical and theoretical problems that need to be solved.Finding out the characteristics of the adversarial examples,giving a mathematical description of its practical application prospects,exploring the universal method of adversarial example generation and the generation mechanism of the adversarial examples are the main research directions of the adversarial examples in the future.Kai Chen Haoqi Zhu Leiming Yan Jinwei Wang 2020Journal on Big Data2020,2,2:0
15Rapid identification of healthy Tegillarca granosa using laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy and fusion model显示文摘Objectives:This study presents a method combining a one-class classifier and laser-induced breakdown spectrometry(LIBS)to quickly identify healthy Tegillarca granosa(T.granosa).Materials and Methods:The sum of ranking differences(SRD)was used to fuse multiple anomaly detection metrics to build the one-class classifier,which was only trained with healthy T.granosa.The one-class classifier can identify healthy T.granosa to exclude non-healthy T.granosa.The proposed method calculated multiple anomaly detection metrics and standardized them to obtain a fusion matrix.Based on the fusion matrix,the samples were ranked by SRD and those ranked lowest and below the threshold were considered to be unhealthy.Results:Multiple anomaly detection metrics were fused by the SRD algorithm and tested on each band,and the final fusion model achieved an accuracy rate of 98.46%,a sensitivity of 100%,and a specificity of 80%.The remaining three single classification models obtained the following results:the SVDD model achieved an accuracy rate of 87.69%,a sensitivity of 90%,and a specificity of 60%;the OCSVM model achieved an accuracy rate of 80%,a sensitivity of 76.67%,and a specificity of 60%;and the DD-SIMCA model achieved an accuracy rate of 95.38%,a sensitivity of 98.33%,and a specificity of 60%.Conclusions:The experimental results showed that the proposed method achieved better results than the traditional one-class classification methods with a single metric.Therefore,the fusion method effectively improves the performance of traditional one-class classifiers when using LIBS to quickly identify healthy substances(healthy T.granosa).Xiaojing Chen Yanan Chen Xi Chen Leiming Yuan Chengxi Jiang Guangzao Huang Wen Shi 2023Food Quality and Safety2023,7,3:0
