Top-emitting thermally activated delayed fluorescence organic light-emitting devices with weak light-matter coupling显示文摘Resonance interaction between a molecular transition and a confined electromagnetic field can lead to weak or strong light-matter coupling.Considering the substantial exciton–phonon coupling in thermally activated delayed fluorescence(TADF)materials,it is thus interesting to explore whether weak light-matter coupling can be used to redistribute optical density of states and to change the rate of radiative decay. Here,we demonstrate that the emission distribution of TADF emitters can be reshaped and narrowed in a top-emitting organic light-emitting device(OLED)with a weakly coupled microcavity. The Purcell effect of weak microcavity is found to be different for TADF emitters with different molecular orientations. We demonstrate that radiative rates of the TADF emitters with vertical orientation can be substantial increased in weakly coupled organic microcavity. These observations can enhance external quantum efficiencies, reduce efficiency roll-off,and improve color-purities of TADF OLEDs,especially for emitters without highly horizontal orientation. | Chunxiu Zang Shihao Liu Mengxin Xu Ruifang Wang Chen Cao Zelin Zhu Jiaming Zhang Hui Wang Letian Zhang Wenfa Xie Chun-Sing Lee | 2021 | Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,7: | 7

Hd1,Ghd7,and DTH8 synergistically determine the rice heading date and yield-related agronomic traits显示文摘Heading date determines the seasonal and regional adaptation of rice(Oryza sativa L.)varieties and is mainly controlled by photoperiod sensitivity(PS).The core heading date genes Hd1,Ghd7,DTH8,and PRR37 act synergistically in regulating the PS.In this study,we systematically analyze the heading date,PS,and agronomic traits of eight homozygous lines with various combinations of Hd1,Ghd7,and DTH8 alleles in the prr37 background under long-day(LD)and short-day(SD)conditions,respectively.We find that Hd1 alone promotes heading, regardless of the day length. However, under LDs,Hd1 suppresses flowering,in coordination with functional Ghd7 or with Ghd7 and DTH8.These loci cooperate to negatively regulate the Ehd1-Hd3 a/RFT1 pathway and delay heading.Under SDs,Hd1 competes with various heading suppressors to promote heading. Therefore, the dual function of Hd1 is vital for PS.The lines carrying Hd1 alone show reduced plant height with fewer primary and secondary branches in panicles.Lines carrying Ghd7 and DTH8(with hd1)show delayed heading and improve agronomic traits.Overall, our results reveal the regulation of rice PS flowering by the core heading date genes and their effects on agronomic traits, providing valuable information for the selection of rice varieties for adaptation to different light and temperature conditions. | Kangli Sun Minghui Huang Wubei Zong Dongdong Xiao Chen Lei Yanqiu Luo Yingang Song Shengting Li Yu Hao Wanni Luo Bingqun Xu Xiaotong Guo Guangliang Wei Letian Chen Yao-Guang Liu Jingxin Guo | 2022 | Journal of Genetics and Genomics2022,49,5: | 4
Bexarotene improves motor function after spinal cord injury in mice显示文摘Spinal cord injury is a challenge in orthopedics because it causes irreversible damage to the central nervous system. Therefore, early treatment to prevent lesion expansion is crucial for the management of patients with spinal cord injury.Bexarotene,a type of retinoid, exerts therapeutic effects on patients with cutaneous T-cell lymphoma and Parkinson's disease.Bexarotene has been proven to promote autophagy, but it has not been used in the treatment of spinal cord injury. To investigate the effects of bexarotene on spinal cord injury,we established a mouse model of T11–T12 spinal cord contusion and performed daily intraperitoneal injection of bexarotene for 5 consecutive days.We found that bexarotene effectively reduced the deposition of collagen and the number of pathological neurons in the injured spinal cord, increased the number of synapses of nerve cells, reduced oxidative stress, inhibited pyroptosis, promoted the recovery of motor function, and reduced death.Inhibition of autophagy with 3-methyladenine reversed the effects of bexarotene on spinal cord injury.Bexarotene enhanced the nuclear translocation of transcription factor E3,which further activated AMP-activated protein kinase-S-phase kinase-associated protein 2-coactivator-associated arginine methyltransferase 1 and AMP-activated protein kinase-mammalian target of rapamycin signaling pathways.Intravenous injection of transcription factor E3 sh RNA or intraperitoneal injection of compound C,an AMP-activated protein kinase blocker, inhibited the effects of bexarotene. These findings suggest that bexarotene regulates nuclear translocation of transcription factor E3 through the AMP-activated protein kinase-Sphase kinase-associated protein 2-coactivator-associated arginine methyltransferase 1 and AMP-activated protein kinase-mammalian target of rapamycin signal pathways, promotes autophagy, decreases reactive oxygen species level, inhibits pyroptosis, and improves motor function after spinal cord injury. | Xingyu Wang Zhihao Shen Haojie Zhang Hao-Jie Zhang Feida Li Letian Yu Hua Chen Kailiang Zhou Hui Xu Sunren Sheng | 2023 | Neural Regeneration Research2023,18,12: | 1
Gut commensal bacteria in biological invasions显示文摘INTRODUCTION The interaction between the host and host-associated microbial communities has been an area of increasing interest during recent decades. In most animal species, microflora is known to inhabit the gut, surface or surroundings(Dillon&Dillon 2004;Engel&Moran 2013;Kovatcheva-Datchary et al.2013).The microflora encompasses a range of microbial relationships, including pathogenic, obligately mutualistic and commensal relationships.During the past few decades, beneficial microorganisms have received much attention due to a myriad of mutualistic effects(e.g.modifying a nutrient-poor diet, protecting the host from parasites or pathogens, affecting the mating and breeding of hosts, and producing insect pheromones).Such studies have aided our understanding of the diversification and evolutionary success of animals(Flórez et al.2015;Paniagua Voirol et al.2018).Furthermore,technological applications have been identified:for example, efficient microbial cellulases from termites are presently being used in industrial processes(Scharf&Tartar 2008). | Letian XU Yipeng LIU hijing XU Min LU | 2019 | Integrative Zoology2019,14,6: | 1

Mechanisms and applications of antitumor immunotherapy of responsive drug-loaded nanoparticles in breast cancer显示文摘During the chemotherapy of tumors, the cytotoxic effect of drugs is vital to kill tumor cells, and the delivery of a chemotherapeutic agent is of great importance for optimal therapeutic effects. The high in vivo clearance rate and low delivery efficiency of conventional chemotherapeutic agents affect the therapeutic effect. In recent years, the responsive drug delivery nanosystem has received increasing concern owing to its excellent biocompatibility, stable delivery performance, and controlled drug release strategies. To lucidly explain the cytocidal and immunotherapeutic effects of such responsive nanosystems in breast cancer, this review discusses the various stimuli and responses of drug-loaded liposomal nanosystems. The light/magnetic response of drug-loaded bionic membranes nanosystems and the heat/magnetic response of drug-loaded iron oxide nanosystems are also elaborated.Their cancer cell-killing efficacy and antitumor immunotherapeutic effects are also scrutinized. | LETIAN JIN HETING CHEN QI RUAN RUI LIU YIFENG FAN XIUFANG XU DAJIANG WANG JIAHUI LU | 2023 | BIOCELL2023,47,7: | 0
Mufolinin A,an unprecedented ring A-seco 10-ethyllimonoid from Munronia unifoliolata显示文摘Mufolinin A(1),a ring A-seco rearranged limonoid with an unprecedented ethyl at C-10 and novel 6/6/6/5 fused-ring skeleton, together with three new potential precursors(ring A-seco limonoids,2–4)were isolated from Munronia unifoliolata.Their structures and absolute configurations were confirmed by nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR),high resolution electrospray ionization mass spectroscopy(HRESIMS),X-ray crystallography, electronic circular dichroism(ECD)calculations and NMR calculations with DP4+analyses.The unprecedented ethyl group of 1 was hypothesized to be derived from methyl migration and ring reduction rearrangement of ring A-seco limonoid 4.Compounds 2 and 4 showed significant multidrug resistance(MDR)reversal activities in MCF-7/DOX cells with reversal fold(RF)values of 13.1 and 8.0,respectively. | Yunpeng Sun Letian Cui Qiurong Li Pengfei Tang Yongyi Li Wenjun Xu Jun Luo Lingyi Kong | 2022 | Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,1: | 0
Design, synthesis, molecular modeling, and biological evaluation of acrylamide derivatives as potent inhibitors of human dihydroorotate dehydrogenase for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis显示文摘Human dihydroorotate dehydrogenase(DHODH) is a viable target for the development of therapeutics to treat cancer and immunological diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis(RA), psoriasis and multiple sclerosis(MS). Herein, a series of acrylamide-based novel DHODH inhibitors as potential RA treatment agents were designed and synthesized. 2-Acrylamidobenzoic acid analog 11 was identified as the lead compound for structureeactivity relationship(SAR) studies. The replacement of the phenyl group with naphthyl moieties improved inhibitory activity significantly to double-digit nanomolar range.Further structure optimization revealed that an acrylamide with small hydrophobic groups(Me, Cl or Br)at the 2-position was preferred. Moreover, adding a fluoro atom at the 5-position of the benzoic acid enhanced the potency. The optimization efforts led to potent compounds 42 and 53-55 with IC50 values of 41, 44, 32, and 42 nmol/L, respectively. The most potent compound 54 also displayed favorable pharmacokinetic(PK) profiles and encouraging in vivo anti-arthritic effects in a dose-dependent manner. | Fanxun Zeng Shiliang Li Guantian Yang Yating Luo Tiantian Qi Yingfan Liang Tingyuan Yang Letian Zhang Rui Wang Lili Zhu Honglin Li Xiaoyong Xu | 2021 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,3: | 0
Experimental and model investigations of SPS casing treatment on a two-stage compressor显示文摘This paper will first carry out experimental investigations on a test compressor which is a large-scale,two-stage and low-speed axial one to evaluate the participation of a novel casing treatment(stall precursor-suppressed casing treatment,SPS CT).The compressor performance for its pressure rise characteristics and efficiency are tested and illustrated.Besides, the time-averaged steady and the time-resolved unsteady measurement in this paper finally lead to some further analyses about the stall evolution of this compressor tending to uncover the process of the stall evolution and the mechanism of the SPS CT.The overall performance results indicate that the SPS CT can extend the compressor stall margin by 3%e11%with very limited efficiency loss. And the mechanism for such casing treatment has also been revealed as stall-precursor suppression by observing the evolution of the inception waves. In addition, modeling work have been conducted subject to the effects of SPS CT on the test two-stage axial compressor. The compressor stability model is able to investigate the effects of different geometrical parameters on the compressor stability and then make an optimal design for the SPS CT when it is applied on the test compressor. | Xu Dong Letian Zhang Dakun Sun Xiaofeng Suna | 2021 | Propulsion and Power Research2021,10,1: | 0
Transmembrane domain of IFITM3 is responsible for its interaction with influenza virus HA_(2) subunit显示文摘Interferon-inducible transmembrane protein 3(IFITM3)inhibits influenza virus infection by blocking viral membrane fusion, but the exact mechanism remains elusive. Here,we investigated the function and key region of IFITM3 in blocking influenza virus entry mediated by hemagglutinin(HA).The restriction of IFITM3 on HAmediated viral entry was confirmed by pseudovirus harboring HA protein from H5 and H7 influenza viruses.Subcellular co-localization and immunocoprecipitation analyses revealed that IFITM3 partially co-located with the full-length HA protein and could directly interact with HA_(2) subunit but not HA_(1) subunit of H5 and H7 virus.Truncated analyses showed that the transmembrane domain of the IFITM3 and HA_(2) subunit might play an important role in their interaction. Finally, this interaction of IFITM3 was also verified with HA_(2) subunits from other subtypes of influenza A virus and influenza B virus.Overall, our data demonstrate for the first time a direct interaction between IFITM3 and influenza HA protein via the transmembrane domain, providing a new perspective for further exploring the biological significance of IFITM3 restriction on influenza virus infection or HA-mediated antagonism or escape. | Wang Xu Yuhang Wang Letian Li Xiaoyun Qu Quan Liu Tiyuan Li Shipin Wu Ming Liao Ningyi Jin Shouwen Du Chang Li | 2022 | Virologica Sinica2022,37,5: | 0
Metabolic and immunological effects of gut microbiota in leaf beetles at the local and systemic levels显示文摘Insects’intestinal microbes have profound effects on the host’s physiological traits, which can impact their physiology at both the local(gut)and systemic(body)levels.Nevertheless, the molecular mechanisms underlying hostmicrobiota interactions, especially in non-model insects, remain elusive.Recently,tissue-specific transcriptomic analysis has been highlighted as a robust tool in studying host–microbe interactions.Plagiodera versicolora is a worldwide leaf-eating pest that primarily feeds on willows and poplar. The interplay between gut microflora and this host beetle has yet to be studied.Herein,we investigate the effects of the gut microbiota on the body mass of P.versicolora larvae, compare the nutrition status of larvae in absence and presence of gut microbiota, and profile gut bacterial loads throughout its developmental larval stages. We then perform comparative transcriptomic analysis of gut and body tissues in axenic and non-axenic larvae. Finally,we confirm the expression patterns of representative genes in nutritional metabolism and immunity. Results show that weight growth is retarded in conventional larvae, with a concomitant increase of total bacterial load by the 5^(th)development day,and germ-free larvae have a higher glucose content than conventional-reared larvae. Both nutritional and immunological analyses indicate that gut bacteria are a burden in the beetle’s larval development. These findings elucidate the impacts of gut microbiota on P.versicolora, and provide insight into tissue-specific responses to gut microflora in this pest at the genetic level, boosting our understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying host–microbe interactions in leaf beetles and beyond. | Meiqi MA Chengjie TU Jing LUO Min LU Shichang ZHANG Letian XU | 2021 | Integrative Zoology2021,16,3: | 0
Remarkable mechanochromism and force-induced thermally activated delayed fluorescence enhancement from white-light-emitting organic luminogens with aggregation-induced emission显示文摘The development of organic materials with white-light emission and thermally activated delayed fluorescence(TADF)properties in the solid state remain a challenge.Herein,a series of white-light-emitting organic luminogens have been developed and are found to show aggregation-induced delayed fluorescence(AIDF)characteristics. The AIDF emitters present dual-emission consisted of prompt fluorescence and TADF in the crystalline state.Their white-light emissions can be easily tuned by altering the chemical structure and connecting position of the heterocyclic aromatic substituent.Under the stimuli of mechanical force and solvent vapor, the compounds exhibit remarkable and reversible mechanochromism,in which their emission colors are switchable between white and yellow.Upon grinding, they also display linearly tunable luminescence colors,as well as force-induced TADF enhancement, which may be associated with the more compact molecular packing and the restriction of intramolecular motions. The results from time-resolved emission scanning and theoretical calculation suggest that the dual-emission of the AIDF luminogens likely results from the twisted intramolecular charge transfer transitions of the molecules, and the reversible mechanochromism properties probably stem from the interconversion of the quasi-axial and the quasi-equatorial conformations. | Yitao Zheng Lingqi Zuo Letian Zhang Zihao Huang Shufeng Li Zhan Yang Zhu Mao Suilian Luo Cong Liu Fengqiang Sun Guang Shi Zhenguo Chi Bingjia Xu | 2022 | Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,10: | 0
