| 1 | Response of grain yield to plant density and nitrogen rate in spring maize hybrids released from 1970 to 2010 in Northeast China显示文摘The objective of this study was to identify the response of grain yield to plant density and nitrogen rate in spring maize hybrids released from 1970 to 2010 and grown extensively in Northeast China.Twenty-one hybrids were grown for 2 years in Northeast China at densities of 30,000,52,500,75,000,and 97,500 plants ha^(-1)and N application levels of 0,150,300,and 450 kg N ha^(-1).Irrespective of density or nitrogen application rate,grain yields both per plant and per unit area were significantly higher for newer than older hybrids.As plant density increased from 30,000 to 97,500 plant ha^(-1),yield per plant of 1970 s,1980 s,1990 s,and 2000 s hybrids decreased by 50%,45%,46%,and 52%,respectively.The response of grain yield per unit area to plant density was curvilinear.The estimated optimum plant densities were about 58,000,49,000,65,000,and 65,000 plants ha^(-1)for hybrids released in the 1970 s,1980s,1990 s,and 2000 s,respectively.The theoretical optimum densities for the hybrids released from the 1970 s to the 2000 s increased by 1750 plants ha^(-1)decade^(-1).Nitrogen fertilization significantly increased grain yields per plant and per unit area for all hybrids.The theoretical optimum N application rates for high yield for hybrids released in the 1970 s and 1980 s were about 280 and 360 kg ha^(-1),and the hybrids from the 1990 s and 2000 s showed highest yield at 330 kg ha^(-1)N.No significant difference in the grain yields of 2000 s hybrids between the N levels of 150 to 450 kg ha^(-1)was found.Significant yield gains per plant and per unit area were found,with average increases of 17.9 g plant^(-1)decade^(-1)and936 kg ha^(-1)decade^(-1)over the period 1970–2010,respectively.Yield gains were attributed mainly to increased yield per plant,contributed by increases in kernel number per ear and1000-kernel weight.The rates of lodging and barren plants of newer hybrids were significantly lower than those of older ones,especially at high plant density. | Chunrong Qian Yang Yu Xiujie Gong Yubo Jiang Yang Zhao Zhongliang Yang Yubo Hao Liang Li Zhenwei Song Weijian Zhang | 2016 | The Crop Journal2016,4,6: | 15 |

| 3 | LMM5.1 and LMM5.4,two eukaryotic translation elongation factor 1Alike gene family members,negatively affect cell death and disease resistance in rice显示文摘Lesion mimic mutant(LMM) genes, stimulating lesion formation in the absence of pathogens, play significant roles in immune response. In this study, we characterized a rice lesion mimic mutant, lmm5,which displayed light-dependent spontaneous lesions. Additionally, lmm5 plants exhibited enhanced resistance to all of the tested races of Magnaporthe oryzae and Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae(Xoo) by increasing the expression of defense-related genes and the accumulation of hydrogen peroxide. Genetic analysis showed that the lesion mimic phenotype of lmm5 was controlled by two genes, lmm5.1 and lmm5.4, which were isolated with a map-based cloning strategy. Remarkably, LMM5.1 and LMM5.4 share a 97.4% amino acid sequence identity, and they each encode a eukaryotic translation elongation factor 1A(e EF1A)-like protein. Besides, LMM5.1 and LMM5.4 were expressed in a tissue-specific and an indicaspecific manner, respectively. In addition, high-throughput m RNA sequencing analysis confirmed that the basal immunity was constitutively activated in the lmm5 mutant. | 4 | The heterogeneity of islet autoantibodies and the progression of islet failure in type 1 diabetic patients显示文摘Type 1 diabetes mellitus is heterogeneous in many facets. The patients suffered from type 1 diabetes present several levels of islet function as well as variable number and type of islet-specific autoantibodies. This study was to investigate prevalence and heterogeneity of the islet autoantibodies and clinical phenotypes of type 1 diabetes mellitus; and also discussed the process of islet failure and its risk factors in Chinese type 1 diabetic patients. A total of 1,291 type 1 diabetic patients were enrolled in this study. Demographic information was collected. Laboratory tests including mixed-meal tolerance test, human leukocyte antigen alleles, hemoglobin A1 c, lipids, thyroid function and islet autoantibodies were conducted. The frequency of islet-specific autoantibody in newly diagnosed T1 DM patients(duration shorter than half year) was 73% in East China. According to binary logistic regressions, autoantibody positivity, longer duration and lower Body Mass Index were the risk factors of islet failure. As the disease developed, autoantibodies against glutamic acid decarboxylase declined as well as the other two autoantibodies against zinc transporter 8 and islet antigen 2. The decrease of autoantibodies was positively correlated with aggressive beta cell destruction. Autoantibodies can facilitate the identification of classic T1 DM from other subtypes and predict the progression of islet failure. | 5 | A Rice NBS-ARC Gene Conferring Quantitative Resistance to Bacterial Blight Is Regulated by a Pathogen Effector-Inducible miRNA显示文摘The bacterium Xanthomonas oryzae pv.Oryzae(Xoo)causes blight in rice worldwide,resulting in signifi-cant crop loss.However,no gene underlying a quantitative trait locus(QTL)for resistance against Xoo has been cloned yet.Here,we report the map-based cloning of a QTL,in which the NBS8R gene confers quantitative resistance to Xoo.NBS8R encodes an NB-ARC protein,which is involved in pathogen/microbe-associated molecular pattern-triggered immunity and whose expression is regulated by non-TAL effector XopQ-inducible Osa-miR1876 through DNA methylation.Sequence analysis of NBS8R in wild rice species and rice cultivars suggests that the Osa-miR1876 binding sites in the 5'UTR of NBS8R are inserted by chance and have undergone variations with Osa-miR1876 throughout evolution.The inter-action between NBS8R and XopQ-inducible Osa-miR1876 is partially in keeping with the zigzag model,revealing that quantitative genes may also follow this model to control the innate immune response or basal disease resistance,and may prove valuable in utilizing the existing landraces that harbor the NBS8R gene but with no Osa-miR1876 binding site in rice breeding for bacterial blight resistance. | Guanghuai Jiang Dongfeng Liu Dedong Yin Zhuangzhi Zhou Yue Shi Chunrong Li Lihuana Zhu and Wenxue Zhai | 2020 | Molecular Plant2020,13,12: | 4 |
| 6 | Fabrication and oxidation resistance of silicon nitride fiber reinforced silica matrix wave-transparent composites显示文摘Wave-transparent ceramic matrix composites for the high temperature use should possess excellent oxidation resistance. In this work, Si3N4f/SiO2 composites with different fiber content were fabricated by filament winding and sol gel method. The oxidation resistance was investigated by tracking the response of flexural strength to the testing temperature. The results show that the flexural strength and toughness of the composites with fiber content of over 37% can reach high levels at around 175.0 MPa and 6.2 MPa m^1/2, respectively. After 1 h oxidation at 1100℃, the flexural strength drops a lot but can still reach 114.4 MPa, which is high enough to ensure the safety of structures. However, when the oxidation temperature rises to 1200–1400℃, the flexural strengths continue to fall to a relatively low level at 50.0–66.4 MPa. | 12 | Texture development and tensile properties of Mg?Yb binary alloys during hot extrusion and subsequent annealing显示文摘Ytterbium(Yb)containing magnesium alloys have aroused extensive interest due to their excellent mechanical properties after thermomechanical processing and heat treatment.Unfortunately,the sole effect of Yb addition on the microstructure and mechanical properties of pure Mg matrix remains uncertain to date.In this work,the effects of Yb concentration on the texture development and tensile properties of pure Mg matrix during hot extrusion and the subsequent annealing were systematically investigated.The results revealed that the constitutional supercooling induced by Yb addition refined the as-cast microstructure but exerted a negligible effect on the original columnar grain morphology.When extruded at 300°C,the dynamic recrystallization(DRX)process was considerably retarded.The in-grain misorientation axes(IGMA)analysis combined with TEM observation indicated that non-basal slips operated with increasing Yb concentration.Specifically,the prismaticslip should be robustly activated in Mg-1.0 Yb extrudate,promoting the formation of the texture with{10?10}plane normal to the extrusion direction(ED),while for the Mg?2.0 Yb counterpart,the increased activity of pyramidalslip and the relaxation of basal/dislocations generated an ED-tilted texture component.The preferential grain growth dominated the subsequent annealing texture development at 400°C when a comparable grain size was achieved.An obvious ED-tilted texture intensity with the peak around<12 13>was observed in Mg-2.0 Yb alloy,which was primarily caused by grains with the basal orientation vanished and with the non-basal orientations intensified due to a higher concentration of Yb solute.Favored by the grain refinement,the Mg-2.0 Yb extrudate exhibited a high tensile yield strength of 304±3.5 MPa,while the subsequently annealed counterpart presented a favorable elongation to failure of 14.8±1.2%,which mainly due to the homogeneous grain structure,weak ED-tilted texture,and dissolution of coarse phases after high-temperature annealing. | Lu Li Cuncai Zhang Hao Lv Chunrong Liu Zhuozhang Wen Jingwen Jiang | 2022 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2022,10,1: | 2 |

| 14 | Scheduling Dual-Arm Cluster Tools With Multiple Wafer Types and Residency Time Constraints显示文摘Accompanying the unceasing progress of integrated circuit manufacturing technology, the mainstream production mode of current semiconductor wafer fabrication is featured with multi-variety, small batch, and individual customization, which poses a huge challenge to the scheduling of cluster tools with single-wafer-type fabrication. Concurrent processing multiple wafer types in cluster tools, as a novel production pattern, has drawn increasing attention from industry to academia, whereas the corresponding research remains insufficient. This paper investigates the scheduling problems of dual-arm cluster tools with multiple wafer types and residency time constraints. To pursue an easy-to-implement cyclic operation under diverse flow patterns,we develop a novel robot activity strategy called multiplex swap sequence. In the light of the virtual module technology, the workloads that stem from bottleneck process steps and asymmetrical process configuration are balanced satisfactorily. Moreover, several sufficient and necessary conditions with closed-form expressions are obtained for checking the system's schedulability. | 15 | Influence of MgO contents on silica supported nano-size gold catalyst for carbon monoxide total oxidation显示文摘A series of nano-size gold catalysts were prepared by deposition-precipitation method using silica material promoted with different amounts of MgO as the carrier. The influences of MgO addition on the structure and property of the nano-size gold catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), O2 temperature-programmed desorption (O2-TPD), and inductively coupled with plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES) techniques. The total oxidation of CO was chosen as the probe reaction. The results suggest that for the gold catalysts supported on the silica material after MgO modification, the size of the gold particles is pronouncedly reduced, the oxygen mobility is enhanced, and the catalytic activity for low-temperature CO oxidation is greatly improved.
