| 1 | Sonodynamic therapy(SDT): a novel strategy for cancer nanotheranostics显示文摘Sonodynamic therapy(SDT) is a promising non-invasive therapeutic modality. Compared to photo-inspired therapy, SDT provides many opportunities and benefits, including deeper tissue penetration, high precision, less side effects, and good patient compliance. Thanks to the facile engineerable nature of nanotechnology, nanoparticles-based sonosensitizers exhibit predominant advantages, such as increased SDT efficacy, binding avidity, and targeting specificity. This review aims to summarize the possible mechanisms of SDT, which can be expected to provide the theoretical basis for SDT development in the future. We also extensively discuss nanoparticle-assisted sonosensitizers to enhance the outcome of SDT. | 2 | A novel mechanism of inhibiting in-stent restenosis with arsenic trioxide drug-eluting stent: Enhancing contractile phenotype of vascular smooth muscle cells via YAP pathway显示文摘Objective:Arsenic trioxide(ATO or As2O3)has beneficial effects on suppressing neointimal hyperplasia and restenosis,but the mechanism is still unclear.The goal of this study is to further understand the mechanism of ATO's inhibitory effect on vascular smooth muscle cells(VSMCs).Methods and results:Through in vitro cell culture and in vivo stent implanting into the carotid arteries of rabbit,a synthetic-to-contractile phenotypic transition was induced and the proliferation of VSMCs was inhibited by ATO.F-actin filaments were clustered and the elasticity modulus was increased within the phenotypic modulation of VSMCs induced by ATO in vitro.Meanwhile,Yes-associated protein(YAP)nuclear translocation was inhibited by ATO both in vivo and in vitro.It was found that ROCK inhibitor or YAP inactivator could partially mask the phenotype modulation of ATO on VSMCs.Conclusions:The interaction of YAP with the ROCK pathway through ATO seems to mediate the contractile phenotype of VSMCs.This provides an indication of the clinical therapeutic mechanism for the beneficial bioactive effect of ATO-drug eluting stent(AES)on in-stent restenosis(ISR). | Yinping Zhao Guangchao Zang Tieying Yin Xiaoyi Ma Lifeng Zhou Lingjuan Wu Richard Daniel Yunbing Wang Juhui Qiu Guixue Wang | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,2: | 13 |

| 4 | A high-fiber diet synergizes with Prevotella copri and exacerbates rheumatoid arthritis显示文摘Both preclinical and established rheumatoid arthritis(RA)patients display alterations in the gut microbiome.Prevotella spp.are preferentially enriched in a subset of RA patients.Here,we isolated a Prevotella strain,P.copri RA,from the feces of RA patients and showed that colonization of P.copri RA exacerbated arthritis in a collagen-induced arthritis(CIA)model.With the presence of P.copri RA colonization,a high-fiber diet exacerbated arthritis via microbial alterations and intestinal inflammation.Colonization of P.copri together with a high-fiber diet enabled the digestion of complex fiber,which led to the overproduction of organic acids,including fumarate,succinate and short-chain fatty acids.Succinate promoted proinflammatory responses in macrophages,and supplementation with succinate exacerbated arthritis in the CIA model.Our findings highlight the importance of dysbiosis when evaluating the effects of dietary interventions on RA pathogenesis and provide new insight into dietary interventions or microbiome modifications to improve RA management. | Lingjuan Jiang Mengmeng Shang Shengnan Yu Yudong Liu Hui Zhang Yangzhong Zhou Min Wang Tingting Wang Hui Li Zhihua Liu Xuan Zhang | 2022 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2022,19,12: | 6 |

| 7 | Epigenetic regulation of phosphodiesterase 4d in restrictive cardiomyopathy mice with cTnI mutations显示文摘Epigenetic regulations play an important role in disease development.In this study,we have investigated epigenetic regulations in restrictive cardiomyopathy mice with cTnI 193 His mutation.Our results demonstrated that phosphodiesterase(PDEs)4d was down-regulated in the heart of these mice.Further studies showed that the epigenetic modifications were associated with enhanced acetylation of histone 3 lysine 4 and lysines 9,whereas tri-methylation of histone 3 lysine 4,were decreased in histones near the PDE4d gene promoter regions.The binding levels of histone transmethylase SMYD1 and histone deacetylase HDAC1 were increased in the gene promoter regions in cTnI193 His transgenic hearts.Using immune-fluorescent labeling we found an evidence of cTnI existence in the nucleus of cardiomyocytes and Western blotting further confirmed that both wild type and mutated cTnI could be detected in the cell nucleus of the hearts.Furthermore,an interaction between cTnI and SMYD1,or cTnI and HDAC1 was observed.Overexpression of the mutated cTnI in cultured cardiomyocytes reduced the expression of PDE4d.Our data suggest that the decrease of PDE4d expression in RCM mice caused by cTnI mutations may be related to epigenetic regulation,i.e.,histone acetylation and methylation,and cTnI might be involved in this procedure via an interaction with HDAC1 and SMAD1 in the hearts. | Weian Zhao Xiaoqi Wu Zhiyuan Wang Bo Pan Lifei Liu Lingjuan Liu Xupei Huang Jie Tian | 2020 | Science China(Life Sciences)2020,63,4: | 4 |

| 9 | The effects of different nitrogen sources on camptothecin content and related gene expression in Camptotheca acuminata seedlings显示文摘Camptotheac acuminata Decne is a unique tree species in China with an important secondary metabolite,camptothecin(CPT),used in the treatment of cancer.Nitrogen(N)is an important element that affects plant growth and the accumulation of CPT.Reports on the effect of N on CPT synthesis from a genetic perspective are scarce.To explore the effects of different N sources and levels on CPT synthesis in C.acuminata,two-year-old seedlings were fertilized with different concentrations of pure ammonium sulphate,source of ammonium N(NH4+-N),and potassium nitrate for nitrate N(NO3--N).Concentrations of 2.5,5,7.5,and10 g pot-1 NH4+-N and NO3--N were used.The results showed that 7.5 g NH4+-N and NO3--N treatments were best for growth and fresh weight of leaves.Compared with the other treatments,the CPT content,tryptophan synthase and tryptophan decarboxylase activities,and expression of the CaTSB and CaTDCl genes under the 2.5 g NH4+-N and NO3--N treatments peaked significantly at 30 days.However,the expression of CaTDC2 surpassed that of the other two genes at 60 days.Therefore,compared with NH4+-N source,the NO3--N source was more beneficial for growth,and NO3--N was better for CPT yield.Consequently,leaves of C.acuminata treated with 2.5 g NO3--N could be harvested after 30 days to obtain maximum CPT content.CaTDC1 is more closely linked to CPT synthesis.The results of this study improved the production of CPT in C.acuminata via fertilization. | Xiaode Wang Sainan Bian Pengjie Chang Ninghang Wang Lingjuan Xuan Mingru Zhang Bin Dong Chao Zhang Jiasheng Wu Yeqing Ying Xiazhen Lin Yamei Shen | 2020 | Journal of Forestry Research2020,31,4: | 3 |
| 10 | Argonaute protein as a linker to command center of physiological processes显示文摘MicroRNAs (miRNAs) post-transcriptionally regulate gene expression by binding to target mRNAs with perfect or imperfect complementarity, recruiting an Argonaute (AGO) protein complex that usually results in degradation or translational repression of the target mRNA. AGO proteins function as the Slicer enzyme in miRNA and small interfering RNA (siRNA) pathways involved in human physiological and pathophysiological processes, such as antiviral responses and disease formation. Although the past decade has witnessed rapid advancement in studies of AGO protein functions, to further elucidate the molecular mechanism of AGO proteins in cellular function and biochemical process is really a challenging area for researchers. In order to understand the molecular causes underlying the pathological processes, we mainly focus on five fundamental problems of AGO proteins, including evolution, functional domain, subcellular location, post-translational modification and protein-protein interactions. | 11 | Regulators of alternative polyadenylation operate at the transition from mitosis to meiosis显示文摘In the sexually reproductive organisms, gametes are produced by meiosis following a limited mitotic amplification. However, the intrinsic program switching cells from mitotic to meiotic cycle is unclear.Alternative polyadenylation(APA) is a highly conserved means of gene regulation and is achieved by the RNA 30-processing machinery to generate diverse 30 UTR profiles. In Drosophila spermatogenesis, we observed distinct profiles of transcriptome-wide 30 UTR between mitotic and meiotic cells. In mutant germ cells stuck in mitosis, 30 UTRs of hundreds of genes were consistently shifted. Remarkably, altering the levels of multiple 30-processing factors disrupted germline's progression to meiosis, indicative of APA's active role in this transition. An RNA-binding protein(RBP) Tut could directly bind 30 UTRs of 30-processing factors whose expressions were repressed in the presence of Tut-containing complex. Further,we demonstrated that this RBP complex could execute the repression post-transcriptionally by recruiting CCR4/Twin of deadenylation complex.
