1Pharmacological effects of Astragaloside IV: a literature review显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To review the pharmacological effects and mechanisms of action of Astragaloside IV in Huangqi (Radix Astragali Mongolici). METHODS: Aticles focusing on Astragaloside IV in English and Chinese in databases were collected and reviewed in order to summarize the latest extraction separation, pharmacokinetics, and the pharmacological effects of astrageloside IV. RESULTS: Protective effects of Astrageloside IV on the cardiovascular system, immune, digestive, nervous system were identified, and the action mechanisms were associated with regulation of the calcium balance, anti-oxydant, antiapoptosis, antivirus, and so on. 2An HBV-encoded miRNA activates innate immunity to restrict HBV replication显示文摘We previously identified that hepatitis B virus(HBV)encodes a microRNA(HBV-miR-3)that restrains HBV replication by targeting the HBV transcript.However,whether HBV-miR-3 affects host innate immunity to modulate HBV replication remains unclear.Here,we examined the vital functions of HBV-miR-3 in the innate immune response after HBV infection.We found that HBV-miR-3 expression gradually increased in a dose-and time-dependent manner in HBV-infected HepG2-NTCP cells.HBV-miR-3 activated the JAK/STAT signaling pathway by downregulating SOCS5 in hepatocytes,thereby enhancing the IFN-induced anti-HBV effect.In addition,HBVmiR-3 in exosomes facilitated the Ml polarization of macrophages.Furthermore,exosomes containing HBV-miR-3 enhanced the secretion of IL-6 via inhibiting the SOCS5-mediated ubiquitination of EGFR.In short,these results demonstrate that HBV-miR-3 activates the innate immune response to restrain HBV replication by multiple pathways,which may suppress HBV-induced acute liver cell injury and affect the progression of persistent HBV infection.Xiaoqing Zhao Lu Sun Ting Mu Jianying Yi Chaoqun Ma Hong Xie Min Liu Hua Tang 2020Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2020,12,4:17
3TiC-Fe coatings prepared by flame spray synthesis process显示文摘A new process, flame spray synthesis (FSS), has been developed for producing ceramic containing composite coatings. By combining self propagation high temperature synthesis (SHS) and flame spraying, the cermet based material was synthesized and deposited simultaneously. TiC Fe coatings were deposited from commercial ferrotitanium, iron and graphite powders by the flame spraying synthesis process. Microstructure analyses revealed that TiC was synthesized during spraying, and that submicron and round TiC particles were dispersed within an iron matrix. 4Yiguanjian decoction enhances fetal liver stem/progenitor cell-mediated repair of liver cirrhosis through regulation of macrophage activation state显示文摘AIM To investigate whether Yiguanjian decoction(YGJ) has an anti-liver cirrhotic effect and whether it regulates hepatic stem cell differentiation.METHODS A rat model of liver cirrhosis was established via subcutaneous injection of carbon tetrachloride(CCl4) for8 wk. From the beginning of the ninth week, the rats received 2-acetylaminofluorene(2-AAF) by oral gavage and a DLK-1+ fetal liver stem/progenitor cell(FLSPC)transplant or an FLSPC transplant in combination with YGJ treatment for 4 wk. In vitro, lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-activated macrophages were co-cultured with WB-F344 cells, and the differentiation of WB-F344 cells was observed in the presence and absence of YGJ treatment.RESULTS FLSPC transplantation improved liver function and histopathology, and inhibited the activation of the noncanonical Wnt signaling pathway, while activating the canonical Wnt signaling pathway. YGJ enhanced the therapeutic effects of FLSPCs and also promoted the liver regeneration differentiation of FLSPCs into hepatocytes.In vitro, LPS-activated macrophages promoted the differentiation of WB-F344 cells into myofibroblasts, and the canonical Wnt signaling was inhibited while the noncanonical Wnt signaling was activated in WB-F344 cells.YGJ suppressed the activation of macrophages and then inhibited non-canonical Wnt signaling and promoted canonical Wnt signaling.CONCLUSION YGJ enhances FLSPC-mediated repair of liver cirrhosis through regulation of macrophage activation state, and YGJ in combination with stem cell transplantation may be a suitable treatment for end-stage liver cirrhosis.Ying Xu Wei-Wei Fan Wen Xu Shi-Li Jiang Gao-Feng Chen Cheng Liu Jia-Mei Chen Hua Zhang Ping Liu Yong-Ping Mu 2018World Journal of Gastroenterology2018,24,42:10

7Meiofauna Distribution in Intertidal Sandy Beaches Along China Shoreline(18?–40?N)显示文摘In this study,the distribution pattern of meiofauna from nine sandy beaches at six latitudinal gradients along Chinese coast between 18 and 40?N was studied on their meiofauna abundance to examine the effect of latitudinal gradients.In general,meiofauna abundance was lower in four subtropical beaches in Xiamen(24?N) and Zhoushan(29?N) than that in other beaches.Meiofauna abundance differed little between tropical and temperate beaches.The taxonomic structure of meiofauna showed a dominance of nematode in colder area.The relative composition of turbellarians and polychaetes increased in warmer area.In addition to latitudinal gradient,salinity,oxygenation,sediment grain size affect also the meiofauna latitudinal distribution.As for horizontal distribution,the highest meiofauna abundance was found in low tidal zone at tropical beaches,and in middle tidal zone at temperate beaches.The horizontal distribution of meiofauna was controlled by both physical and biotic factors including feeding and anthropogenic activities.Although meiofauna abundance exhibited a horizontal difference,the composition of meiofaunal main taxa was unanimous horizontally at all beaches at the same sampling latitude.HUA Er ZHANG Zhinan ZHOU Hong MU Fanghong LI Jia ZHANG Ting CONG Bingqing LIU Xiaoshou 2016Journal of Ocean University of China2016,15,1:7
8Toxicity of Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes,Graphene Oxide,and Reduced Graphene Oxide to Zebrafish Embryos显示文摘Objective This study was aimed to investigate the toxic effects of 3 nanomaterials, i.e. multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs), graphene oxide(GO), and reduced graphene oxide(RGO), on zebrafish embryos. Methods The 2-h post-fertilization(hpf) zebrafish embryos were exposed to MWCNTs, GO, and RGO at different concentrations(1, 5, 10, 50, 100 mg/L) for 96 h. Afterwards, the effects of the 3 nanomateria on spontaneous movement, heart rate, hatching rate, length of larvae, mortality, and malformations ls were evaluated. Results Statistical analysis indicated that RGO significantly inhibited the hatching of zebrafish embryos. Furthermore, RGO and MWCNTs decreased the length of the hatched larvae at 96 hpf. No obvious morphological malformation or mortality was observed in the zebrafish embryos after exposure to the three nanomaterials. Conclusion MWCNTs, GO, and RGO were all toxic to zebrafish embryos to influence embryos hatching and larvae length. 9Mapping Quantitative Trait Loci Associated with Photoperiod Sensitivity in Maize(Zea mays L.)显示文摘Photoperiod sensitivity in maize plays an essential role in utilizing tropic and sub-tropic germplasm to temperate areas.This study aims to identify and map the QTLs responsible for the characteristics measuring photoperiod sensitivity,days from planting to silking(SD),photoperiod response coefficient of silking(PRC),and anthesis-silking interval(ASI).Using the population derived from Zheng 58,photoperiod-insensitive parent,and Ya 8701,photoperiod-sensitive parent,a linkage map was constructed with 93 single sequence repeat(SSR) markers.Phenotyping of 296 F2:3 families of the population in replicated-field test was conducted in both long-day(Beijing,China) and short-day(Sichuan,China) conditions.Ten QTLs were identified to be associated with the SD and ASI on chromosomes 3,4,6,8,and 10 in the long-day conditions,and 11 QTLs were detected to be related to the SD and ASI on chromosomes 2,3,4,5,6,8,and 10 in the short-day conditions,respectively.A QTL associated with the PRC as a major effect in the long-day conditions located in the same position as the QTL related to the SD and ASI in the map,and was on chromosome 10 linked with marker bnlg1655.Using these QTLs in the marker-assisted selection,the photoperiod sensibility could be reduced by selection of the alleles responsible for the SD,PRC,and ASI in breeding programs.MU Gui-qin LIANG Yan ZHANG Zhi-ming WU Yuan-qi LIU Shi-jian PENG Hua ZHANG Su-zhi PANGuang-tang 2009Agricultural Sciences in China2009,8,1:6
10Genetic and Antibiotic Resistance Characteristics ofCampylobacterjejuni Isolated from Diarrheal Patients,Poultry and Cattle in Shenzhen显示文摘Objective To investigate genetic and antibiotic resistance characteristics of Campylobacter jejuni(C. jejuni) isolated from Shenzhen. Methods Multilocs sequence typing and agar dilution methods were used to define the genotype and antibiotic resistance of C. jejuni, respectively. Results In total, 126 C. jejuni strains were isolated. The prevalence of C. jejuni was 5.3% in diarrheal patients. The prevalence in poultry meat(36.5%) was higher than that in cattle meat(1.1%). However, the prevalence in poultry cloacal swabs(27.0%) was lower than that in cattle stool(57.3%). Sixty-two sequence types were obtained, among which 27 of the STs and 10 alleles were previously unreported. The most frequently observed clonal complexes were ST-21(11.9%), ST-22(10.3%), and ST-403(7.1%). ST-21, ST-45, ST-354, ST-403, and ST-443 complexes overlapped between isolates from patients and cattle, whereas ST-45 and ST-574 complexes overlapped between isolates from patients and poultry. All C. jejuni were resistant to at least one antibiotic. The highest resistance rate was toward ciprofloxacin(89.7%), followed by tetracycline(74.6%), and nalidixic acid(69.0%). Conclusion This is the first report of the genotypes and antibiotic resistance of C. jejuni in Shenzhen. 11Efficacy and Safety of Yanggan Jian in Hepatitis B Virusrelated Decompensated Cirrhosis:A Randomized,Doubleblind,Controlled Trial显示文摘Background and Aims:The aim was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Yanggan Jian(YGJ)in HBV-infected patients with decompensated cirrhosis.Methods:This randomized,double-blind controlled trial enrolled 160 patients with HBV-related decompensated cirrhosis who were already receiving or about to start antiviral therapy.Patients were randomly assigned to receive YGJ or placebo for 24 weeks,and were followed-up to 36 weeks.The primary outcome was the proportion of patients with a≥2 point reduction in Child-Turcotte-Pugh(CTP)score from baseline at week 24.Secondary outcomes were CTP class and score,serum liver function indices,mortality,incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma and variceal bleeding.Results:The proportion of patients with a CTP score reduction≥2 was significantly greater in the YGJ than in the placebo group(p=0.009);the percentage of patients with CTP class C was significantly less than that in the placebo group(p<0.05),and the YGJ group had a significantly greater mean change from baseline in CTP score at week 24(p=0.034).The improvement in measured values and change from baseline of prothrombin time,serum albumin,platelets,cholinesterase,international normalized ratio,and activated partial thromboplastin time were significantly better with YGJ than with placebo.Between-group differences in cumulative rates of variceal bleeding,hepatocellular carcinoma,death,or the frequency of any adverse event(AE),AEs related to treatment,or discontinuation because of AEs were not significant.Conclusions:YGJ significantly improved CTP scores and hepatic synthetic and reserve function in patients with HBV-related decompensated cirrhosis,and was safe and well tolerated.Long Chen Chaoqun Zhao Weili Yao Wei Liu Hua Zhang Yongping Mu Hong Cai Dongying Xue Chengbao Wang Wan’e Wang Yuehong Lin Jiamei Chen Ping Liu 2023Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2023,11,1:3
12Strain-regulated sensing properties of α-Fe_(2)O_(3) nano-cylinders with atomic carbon layers for ethanol detection显示文摘The sensitivity of ethanol sensor is of paramount importance in a variety of areas,including chemical production with ethanol,alcohol testing for driving safety,etc.Herein,α-Fe_(2)O_(3) nano-cylinders with atomic carbon layers are synthesized,for the first time,through in-situ catalytic chemical vapor deposition combined with hydrothermal techniques for the detection of ethanol.The reported α-Fe_(2)O_(3)@C nano-cylinders with double surficial strain effects deliver an ethanol detection sensitivity of 8 times as compared with α-Fe_(2)O_(3) nano-cylinders,10 times higher as compared with its detection sensitivity to ammonia,para-xylene,methanol and benzene.The sensor also exhibits over-14-day operation stability and the minimum detection limit of 10 ppm.To our best knowledge,the performances surpass those of previously reported α-Fe_(2)O_(3).Such attractive performances are attributed to the enhanced charge transfer in α-Fe_(2)O_(3) owing to the double surficial strain effects of α-Fe_(2)O_(3)@C nano-cylinders and the efficient adsorption of ethanol with atomic carbon layers.Huajing Xiong Jianan Fu Jinyao Li Rashad Ali Hong Wang Yifan Liu Hua Su Yuanxun Li Woon-Ming Lau Nasir Mahmood Chunhong Mu Xian Jian 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,9:2

14Recent advances on interface engineering of perovskite solar cells显示文摘Lead halide perovskite solar cells(PSCs)have been rapidly developed in the past decade.Owing to its excellent power conversion efficiency with robust and low-cost fabrication,perovskite quickly becomes one of the most promising candidates for the next-generation photovoltaic technology.With the development of PSCs,the interface engineering has witnessed its increasingly critical role in maximizing the device performance as well as the long-term stability,because the interfaces in PSCs are closely correlated with the defect management,carrier dynamics and surface passivation.This review focuses on interfacial modification between the perovskite active layer and the charge transport layer,as well as the recent advances on high-efficiency and stable PSCs driven by interface engineering strategies.The contributing roles of interface engineering in terms of defect passivation,inhibiting ion migration,optimization of energy band alignment and morphological control are discussed.Finally,based on the latest progress and advances,strategies and opportunities for the future research on interface engineering for PSCs are proposed to promote the development of perovskite photovoltaic technology.Wenjing Yu Xiaoran Sun Mu Xiao Tian Hou Xu Liu Bolin Zheng Hua Yu Meng Zhang Yuelong Huang Xiaojing Hao 2022Nano Research2022,15,1:2
