| 1 | Self-assembled monolayers of stearic imidazoline on copper electrodes detected using electrochemical measurements, XPS, molecular simulation and FTIR显示文摘A type of imidazoline inhibitor was synthesized using stearic acid and diethylenetriamine (DETA) as raw materials. Self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of stearic imidazoline (IM) were prepared on copper surface. The copper electrode modified by IM was detected by electrochemical impedance spectros- copy (EIS),Tafel polarization curves, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Fourial transform reflection spectroscopy (FTIR). The biggest inhibition efficiency for copper corrosion of IM was 99% in NaCl solution according to EIS results. The XPS results provided evidence that the IM was adsorbed on copper surface. | 2 | Simulation and analysis of two-point bending fatigue test of asphalt concrete based on discrete element model显示文摘In order to investigate the fatigue performance ofFrench high modulus asphalt concrete and the correlationbetween Burger's parameters and fatigue life, the virtualmodel of asphalt mixture trapezoidal specimen in the two-pointbending fatigue test was constructed in discrement elementsoftware PFC3D. The initial stiffness and the maximum stresswhen the specimen reached fatigue were calculated. Throughthe comparison between virtual and single field fatigue testcurves, the credibility of simulation in DEM was verified.Then, the impacts of top controlled displacement and Burger'sparameters ( El, E2, η1, η2) on the fatigue life of the specimenwere explored. The simulation results indicate that themaximum stress increases with the increase in the topcontrolled displacement. | 3 | Self-extinguishing and transparent epoxy resin modified by a phosphine oxide-containing bio-based derivative显示文摘A phosphine oxide-containing bio-based curing agent was synthesized by addition reaction between furan derivatives and diphenylphosphine oxide.The molecular structure of the as-prepared bio-based curing agent was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.Dynamic mechanical analysis results indicated that with the increase of bio-based curing agent content,the glass transition temperature of epoxy/bio-based curing agent composites decreased,which was related to the steric effect of diphenylphosphine oxide species that possibly hinder the curing reaction as well as the reduction in the cross-linking density by mono-functional N-H.By the addition of 7.5 wt-%bio-based curing agent,the resulting epoxy composite achieved UL-94 V-0 rating,in addition to limiting oxygen index of 32.0 vol-%.With the increase of content for the bio-based curing agent,the peak of heat release rate and total heat release of the composites gradually decreased.The bio-based curing agent promoted the carbonization of the epoxy matrix,leading to higher char yield with good thermal resistance.The high-quality char layer served as an effective barrier to retard the diffusion of decomposition volatiles and oxygen between molten polymers and the flame.This study provides a renewable strategy for fabricating flame retardant and transparent epoxy thermoset. | Gang Tang Ruiqing Zhao Dan Deng Yadong Yang Depeng Chen Bing Zhang Xinliang Liu Xiuyu Liu | 2021 | Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2021,15,5: | 1 |

| 6 | Bio-Based Trivalent Phytate:A Novel Strategy for Enhancing Fire Performance of Rigid Polyurethane Foam Composites显示文摘Biomass phytic acid has potential flame retardant value as the main form of phosphorus in plant seeds.In this study,phytate-based flame retardants aluminum phytate(PA-Al)and iron phytate(PA-Fe)were synthesized and characterized.Subsequently,they were introduced into rigid polyurethane foam(RPUF)as flame retardants by one-step water-blown method.The results indicated that RPUF/PA-Fe30 exhibited the highest char residue of 22.1 wt%,significantly higher than 12.4 wt%of RPUF.Cone calorimetry analysis showed that the total heat release(THR)of RPUF/PA-Al30 decreased by 17.0%and total smoke release(TSR)decreased by 22.0%compared with pure RPUF,which were the lowest,demonstrating a low fire risk and good smoke suppression.Thermogravimetric analysis-Fourier transform infrared spectrometer(TG-FTIR)implied the release intensity of flammable gases(hydrocarbons,esters)and toxic gases(isocyanate,CO,aromatic compounds,HCN)of composites was significantly reduced after the addition of PA-Fe.The analysis of char residue indicated that the RPUF composites formed a dense char layer with a high degree of graphitization after the addition of PA-Al/PA-Fe,endowing RPUF composites with excellent mass&heat transmission inhibition effect and fire resistance in the combustion process. | Bing Zhang Sujie Yang Mengru Liu Panyue Wen Xiuyu Liu Gang Tang Xiangrong Xu | 2022 | Journal of Renewable Materials2022,10,5: | 1 |

| 10 | Hydrocortisone,vitamin C,and thiamine may not improve the outcome of patients with sepsis or septic shock:a systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘Background This study aimed to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis of the efficacy of hydrocortisone,vitamin C,and thiamine(HVT)in patients with sepsis or septic shock.Methods A literature search was performed in PubMed,Embase,Cochrane Library,and Web of Science from their inception to April 2021.Search terms included hydrocortisone,thiamine,vitamin C,sepsis,and septic shock.Only randomized controlled trials on HVT in treating sepsis and septic shock were analyzed.Risk ratio(RR)was generated using Review Manager 5.3 to evaluate binary variants,whereas mean±standard deviation(MD)was generated to assess continuous variants.Results A total of 7 randomized controlled trials,with 1233 patients,were included in this meta-analysis.There was no significant difference in long-term mortality(35.3%vs 33.2%;RR:1.07;95%confidence interval[95%CI]:0.90-1.27;P=0.45;I^(2)=0%),intensive care unit(ICU)mortality(17.4%vs 17.5%;RR:0.99;95%CI:0.75-1.30;P=0.95;I^(2)=0%),in-hospital mortality(27.4%vs 25.8%;RR:1.06;95%CI:0.84-1.34;P=0.63;I^(2)=0%),and acute kidney injury morbidity(RR:1.04;95%CI:0.91-1.18;P=0.60;I^(2)=0%)between HVT and control groups.For continuous variables,there was no significant effect of HVT therapy on delta Sequential Organ Failure Assessment(△SOFA)score(MD:−0.44;95%CI:−1.00 to 0.12;P=0.12;I^(2)=49%),length of ICU stay(MD:0.43;95%CI:−0.27 to 1.14;P=0.23;I^(2)=0%),and length of hospital stay(MD:0.80;95%CI:−0.38 to 1.97;P=0.18;I^(2)=0%).Only vasopressor duration was significantly reduced in the HVT group(MD:−17.75;95%CI:−25.56 to−9.94;P<0.00001;I^(2)=38%).Vasopressor duration refers to the time to shock reversal.Alternatively,it is the amount of time(in hours)required for patients to withdraw all vasoactive medication support.Neither HVT nor control△SOFA reached statistical significance.Conclusion Hydrocortisone,vitamin C,and thiamine use was not associated with improved mortality,lower acute kidney injury incidence,lower△SOFA,and shorter ICU and in-hospital stays among patients with sepsis and septic shock.However,the use of vasopressors decreased significantly.Further direct head-to-head studies are needed. | Zhuangli Li Xiaoli Zhang Yongliang Wu Chao Xie Chengjiang Liu Xiuyu He Zehua Wu Guofang Hua Yuedong Li | 2023 | Emergency and Critical Care Medicine2023,3,3: | 0 |
| 11 | A bull-heading water control technique of thermo-sensitive temporary plugging agent显示文摘Aimed at the disadvantages of secondary damage to oil layers caused by the conventional bull-heading water control technique, a thermo-sensitive temporary plugging agent for water control was synthesized by water solution polymerization and applied in the field with a new secondary temporary plugging technique. The optimization and performance evaluation of thermo-sensitive temporary plugging agent were carried out through laboratory experiments. The optimized formula is as follows:(6%-8%) acrylamide +(0.08%-0.12%) ammonium persulfate +(1.5%-2.0%) sepiolite +(0.5%-0.8%) polyethylene glycol diacrylate. The thermo-sensitive temporary plugging agent is suitable for formation temperatures of 70-90 ?C, it has high temporary plugging strength(5-40 k Pa), controllable degradation time(1-15 d), the apparent viscosity after degradation of less than 100 m Pa?S and the permeability recovery value of simulated cores of more than 95%. Based on the research results, secondary temporary plugging technique was used in a horizontal well in the Jidong Oilfield. | 13 | Effects of traditional Chinese medicine on treatment outcomes in severe COVID-19 patients:a single-centre study显示文摘As the search for effective treatments for COVID-19 continues,the high mortality rate among critically ill patients in Intensive Care Units(ICU)presents a profound challenge.This study explores the potential benefits of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)as a supplementary treatment for severe COVID-19.A total of 110 critically ill COVID-19 patients at the Intensive Care Unit(ICU)of Vulcan Hill Hospital between Feb.,2020,and April,2020(Wuhan,China)participated in this observational study.All patients received standard supportive care protocols,with a subset of 81 also receiving TCM as an adjunct treatment.Clinical characteristics during the treatment period and the clinical outcome of each patient were closely monitored and analysed.Our findings indicated that the TCM group exhibited a significantly lower mortality rate compared with the non-TCM group(16 of 81 vs 24 of 29;0.3 vs 2.3 person/month).In the adjusted Cox proportional hazards models,TCM treatment was associated with improved survival odds(P<0.001).Furthermore,the analysis also revealed that TCM treatment could partially mitigate inflammatory responses,as evidenced by the reduced levels of proinflammatory cytokines,and contribute to the recovery of multiple organic functions,thereby potentially increasing the survival rate of critically ill COVID-19 patients. | XIAO Yongjiu LI Binbin LIU Chang HUANG Xiuyu MA Ling QIAN Zhirong ZHANG Xiaopeng ZHANG Qian LI Dunqing CAI Xiaoqing YAN Xiangyong LUO Shuping XIANG Dawei XIAO Kun | 2024 | Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines2024,22,1: | 0 |
| 14 | Gene expression and molecular characterization of a thermostable trehalose phosphorylase from Thermoanaerobacter tengcongensis显示文摘A gene encoding the trehalose phosphorylase (TreP), which reversibly catalyzes trehalose degradation and synthesis from α-glucose-1-phosphate (α-Glc-1-P) and glucose, was cloned from Thermoanaerobacter tengcongensis and successfully expressed in Escherichia coli. The overexpressed TreP, with a molecular mass of approximately 90 kDa, was determined by SDS-PAGE. It catalyzes trehalose synthesis and degradation optimally at 70℃ (for 30 min), with the optimum pHs at 6.0 and 7.0, respectively. It is highly thermostable, with a 77% residual ac- tivity after incubation at 50℃ for 7 h. Under the optimum reaction conditions, 50 μg crude en- zyme of the TreP is able to catalyze the synthesis of trehalose up to 11.6 mmol/L from 25 mmol/L α-Glc-1-P and 125 mmol/L glucose within 30 min, while only 1.5 mmol/L out of 250 mmol/L tre- halose is degraded within the same time period. Dot blotting revealed that the treP gene in T. tengcongensis was upregulated in response to salt stress but downregulated when trehalose was supplied. Both results indicate that the dominant function of the T. tengcongensis TreP is catalyzing trehalose synthesis but not degradation. | 16 | Genetic diversity and population structure of Robinia pseudoacacia from six improved variety bases in China as revealed by simple sequence repeat markers显示文摘Robinia pseudoacacia is an important afforesta-tion tree introduced to China in 1878.In the present study,we examined the genetic diversity among 687 strains rep-resenting four improved varieties and two secondary prov-enances,comprising 641 clones and 46 seedlings.Ninety-one simple sequence repeats(SSRs)were selected through segregation analysis and polymorphism characterization,and all sampled individuals were genotyped using well-characterized SSR markers.After excluding loci with non-neutral equilibrium,missing locus data and null alleles,we used 36 primer pairs to assess the genetic diversity of these germplasm resources,revealing vast genetic differentiation among the samples,with an average of 8.352 alleles per locus and a mean Shannon′s index of 1.302.At the popula-tion level,the partitioning of variability was assessed using analysis of molecular variance,which revealed 93%and 7%variation within and among collection sites,respectively.Four clusters were detected using structure analysis,indi-cating a degree of genetic differentiation among the six populations.Insights into the genetic diversity and structure of R.pseudoacacia provide a theoretical basis for the con-servation,breeding and sustainable development in China. | Qi Guo Sen Cao Li Dong Xiuyu Li Jiangtao Zhang Yuanshuai Zhang Zijie Zhang Yuhan Sun Cui Long Yingming Fan Chao Han Peiyao Han Xiaodi Liu Yun Li | 2022 | Journal of Forestry Research2022,33,2: | 0 |
