| 1 | Phylotranscriptomics in Cucurbitaceae Reveal Multiple Whole-Genome Duplications and Key Morphological and Molecular Innovations显示文摘The ability of climbing plants to grow upward along others to reach the canopy for photosynthesis is hypothesized as a key innovation in flowering plants.Most members of the Cucurbitaceae,a family containing^1000 species and many important crops,are climbers and have characteristic tendrils and pepo fruits.Here,we present 127 newly sequenced transcdptomes and genomes along with other datasets for a total of 136 cucurbits representing all tribes to establish a robust Cucurbitaceae phylogeny containing eight highly resolved major clades.We analyzed whole-genome duplication,diversification dynamics,and ancestral morphologies,and found that after early genome duplication event(s),a burst of diversification and morphological innovations in flower,fruit,and root characters occurred under the climate optimum in the Early Eocene.Species radiation during the Mid-Eocene Climatic Optimum also coincided with several morphological changes shared by 80%of cucurbits.We found that the cucurbit-specific tendril identity gene TEN originated from a paleo-polyploidization event at the origin of the family.Our results support the hypothesis that cucurbit diversifications were probably driven by increased genetic diversity following polyploidizations and by trait morphological innovations under paleo-climate upheavals.Our study provides a phylogenetic framework and new insights into morphological and genomic changes underlying the adaptive evolution of Cucurbitaceae. | Jing Guo Weibin Xu Yi Hu Jie Huang Yiyong Zhao Lin Zhang Chien-Hsun Huang Hong Ma | 2020 | Molecular Plant2020,13,8: | 7 |
| 2 | First results on ^(76)Ge neutrinoless double beta decay from CDEX-1 experiment显示文摘We report the first results on ^(76)Ge neutrinoless double beta decay from stage one of the China dark-matter experiment(CDEX).A p-type point-contact high-purity germanium detector with a mass of 994 g has been installed to detect neutrinoless double beta decay events, as well as to directly detect dark matter particles. An exposure of 304 kg d has been analyzed over a wide spectral band from 500 keV to 3 MeV. The average event rate obtained was about 0.012 counts per keV per kg per day over the 2.039 MeV energy range. The half-life of ^(76)Ge neutrinoless double beta decay derived based on this result is T^(0ν)1/2>6.4×10^(22) yr(90% C.L.). The new adsorbent has high porosity, uniform distribution and high content of Ca Cl2, and exhibits high adsorption performance. The ammonia uptake and specific cooling power(SCP) at 5 min adsorption time can reach as high as 0.19 g·g-1 and 793.9 W·kg-1, respectively. | 12 | Small extracellular vesicles with nanomorphology memory promote osteogenesis显示文摘Nanotopographical cues endow biomaterials the ability to guide cell adhesion, proliferation, and differentiation. Cellular mechanical memory can maintain the cell status by retaining cellular information obtained from past mechanical microenvironments. Here, we propose a new concept “morphology memory of small extracellular vesicles (sEV)” for bone regeneration. We performed nanotopography on titanium plates through alkali and heat (Ti8) treatment to promote human mesenchymal stem cell (hMSC) differentiation. Next, we extracted the sEVs from the hMSC, which were cultured on the nanotopographical Ti plates for 21 days (Ti8-21-sEV). We demonstrated that Ti8-21-sEV had superior pro-osteogenesis ability in vitro and in vivo. RNA sequencing further confirmed that Ti8-21-sEV promote bone regeneration through osteogenic-related pathways, including the PI3K-AKT signaling pathway, MAPK signaling pathway, focal adhesion, and extracellular matrix-receptor interaction. Finally, we decorated the Ti8-21-sEV on a 3D printed porous polyetheretherketone scaffold. The femoral condyle defect model of rabbits was used to demonstrate that Ti8-21-sEV had the best bone ingrowth. In summary, our study demonstrated that the Ti8-21-sEV have memory function by copying the pro-osteogenesis information from the nanotopography. | 16 | Multi-sensor control for precise assembly of optical components显示文摘In order to perform an optical assembly accurately, a multi-sensor control strategy is developed which includes an attitude measurement system, a vision system, a loss measurement system and a force sensor. A 3-DOF attitude measuring method using linear variable differential transformers(LVDT) is designed to adjust the relation of position and attitude between the spherical mirror and the resonator. A micro vision feedback system is set up to extract the light beam and the diaphragm, which can achieve the coarse positioning of the spherical mirror in the optical assembly process. A rapid self-correlation method is presented to analyze the spectrum signal for the fine positioning. In order to prevent the damage of the optical components and realize sealing of the resonator, a hybrid force-position control is constructed to control the contact force of the optical components. The experimental results show that the proposed multi-sensor control strategy succeeds in accomplishing the precise assembly of the optical components, which consists of parallel adjustment, macro coarse adjustment, macro approach, micro fine adjustment, micro approach and optical contact. | 17 | Variation of Environmental Factors and Dominant Population Succession of Microalgae Planktonic in Closed Shrimp Pond显示文摘In order to investigate the influence of season changes of environmental factors in closed shrimp ponds on the community structure of planktonic microalgae,this paper conducted isolated tests to the temperature,pH,total nitrogen( TN),total phosphorus( TP) and chlorophyll a in the shrimp culture ponds,analyzed the planktonic microalgae community structure and changes of dominant species in water over the same period,with the aim to explain the responses of microalgae community to changes of environmental factors in the pond without foreign water sources.The results showed that pond water temperature and TP content gradually increased from April to the end of September and then declined in October; water pH first decreased and then increased; TN and chlorophyll a first increased and then decreased.The dominant species in the pond were Cyclotella sp.,Navicula sp.,Oocystis borgei and S.quadricauda in the early stage( Apirl-May),Chlamydomonas sp.,Chlorella sp.,S.quadricauda,Golenkinia radiata and Pseudanabeanain in medium stage( June-July),Microcystis,Pseudanabeana,Chlorella sp.And S.quadricaudain in the mid-late stage( August-September),Microcystis,Pseudanabeana,Oscillatoria sp.and Chlorella sp.in the late stage( October-December),and Chlorella sp.,Golenkinia radiate,S.quadricauda in the last stage.Diatoms and green algae were the dominant species in the early stage when the water had low temperature,low N and P nutrition but high N/P and a certain salinity.With the increase of temperature,water desalination and accumulation of N and P nutrition,algae became the dominant species.Cyanobacteria became the strong dominant stages in the mid-late stage when the water had high temperature in the state of eutrophication,and there were also some green algae which were fond of high temperature and had resistant to pollution.In the late stage,cyanobacteria were the absolute dominant stage,but with the decrease of water temperature in the last stage,green algae became the dominant species,and planktonic microalgae biomass in the pool decreased. | Jiaxiong CHEN Weibin LI Weizhou CHEN Qingtao MA Kailiang CHEN | 2018 | Agricultural Biotechnology2018,7,6: | 0 |
| 18 | Nuclear phylogeny and insights into wholegenome duplications and reproductive development of Solanaceae plants显示文摘Solanaceae,the nightshade family,have2700 species,including the important crops potato and tomato,ornamentals,and medicinal plants.Several sequenced Solanaceae genomes show evidence for wholegenome duplication(WGD),providing an excellent opportunity to investigate WGD and its impacts.Here,we generated 93 transcriptomes/genomes and combined them with 87 public datasets,for a total of 180 Solanaceae species representing all four subfamilies and 14 of 15 tribes.Nearly 1700 nuclear genes from these transcriptomic/genomic datasets were used to reconstruct a highly resolved Solanaceae phylogenetic tree with six major clades.The Solanaceae tree supports four previously recognized subfamilies(Goetzeioideae,Cestroideae,Nicotianoideae,and Solanoideae)and the designation of three other subfamilies(Schizanthoideae,Schwenckioideae,and Petunioideae),with the placement of several previously unassigned genera.We placed a Solanaceae-specific whole-genome triplication(WGT1)at81 million years ago(mya),before the divergence of Schizanthoideae from other Solanaceae subfamilies at73 mya.In addition,we detected two gene duplication bursts(GDBs)supporting proposed WGD events and four other GDBs.An investigation of the evolutionary histories of homologs of carpel and fruit developmental genes in 14 gene(sub)families revealed that 21 gene clades have retained gene duplicates.These were likely generated by the Solanaceae WGT1 and may have promoted fleshy fruit development.This study presents a well-resolved Solanaceae phylogeny and a new perspective on retained gene duplicates and carpel/fruit development,providing an improved understanding of Solanaceae evolution. | Jie Huang Weibin Xu Junwen Zhai Yi Hu Jing Guo Caifei Zhang Yiyong Zhao Lin Zhang Christopher Martine Hong Ma Chien-Hsun Huang | 2023 | Plant Communications2023,4,4: | 0 |
