| 3 | Wear characteristics of spheroidal graphite roll WC-8Co coating produced by electro-spark deposition显示文摘Electro-spark deposition(ESD) was adopted for preparing high property coatings by depositing WC-8Co cemented carbide on an spheroidal graphite roll substrate.The microstructure and properties of the coating were investigated by X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM) with energy dispersive X-ray(EDX) and ball-disc configuration wear tester.The results show that nanosized particles and amorphous structures prevail in the coating which is metallurgically bonded to the substrate.The microstructures of the transition zone include columnar structure and equiaxed structure.The primary phases of the coating contain W2C, W6C2.54, Fe3W3C, and Co3W3C.The results of abrasive test show that the coating has low friction coefficients(μaverage = 0.18) and the wear mechanisms are mainly abrasive wear, fatigue wear, and oxidation wear.The maximum microhardness value of the coating is about 17410 N/mm2.The study reveals that the electro-spark deposition process has better coating quality and the coating has high wear resistance and hardness. | WANG Jiansheng, MENG Huimin, YU Hongying, FAN Zishuan, and SUN Dongbai School of Materials Science and Engineering, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing 100083, China | 2010 | Rare Metals2010,29,2: | 21 |
| 4 | Shaking table experimental study of recycled concrete frame-shear wall structures显示文摘In this study, four 1/5 scaled shaking table tests were conducted to investigate the seismic performance of recycled concrete frame-shear wall structures with different recycled aggregates replacement rates and concealed bracing detail. The four tested structures included one normal concrete model, one recycled coarse aggregate concrete model, and two recycled coarse and fi ne aggregate concrete models with or without concealed bracings inside the shear walls. The dynamic characteristics, dynamic response and failure mode of each model were compared and analyzed. Finite element models were also developed and nonlinear time-history response analysis was conducted. The test and analysis results show that the seismic performance of the recycled coarse aggregate concrete frame-shear wall structure is slightly worse than the normal concrete structure. The seismic resistance capacity of the recycled concrete frame-shear wall structure can be greatly improved by setting up concealed bracings inside the walls. | 6 | A joint call for actions to advance taxonomy in China显示文摘Taxonomy plays an important role in understanding the origin, evolution, and ecological functionality of biodiversity. There are large number of unknown species yet to be described by taxonomists, which together with their ecosystem services cannot be effectively protected prior to description. Despite this, taxonomy has been increasingly underrated insufficient funds and permanent positions to retain young talents. Further, the impact factordriven evaluation systems in China exacerbate this downward trend, so alternative evaluation metrics are urgently necessary. When the current generation of outstanding taxonomists retires,there will be too few remaining taxonomists left to train the next generation. | 8 | Galvanic effects on cavitation damage for 1Cr13 stainless steel显示文摘Based on the electric-spark principle, a new kind of cavitation damage testing apparatus was designed, which could produce the bubble. Bubbles collapsed and acted on a small surface area of the alloy surface, so an intensive electrochemical inhomogenous state would be induced and lead to the existence of surface galvanic effect on the alloy. The galvanic effect of 1Crl3 SS during cavitation damage has been quantitatively investigated in NaCl solution. The results show that intensive galvanic effect of 1Crl 3 SS during cavitation damage appears the potential of the damaged area shifting negatively with the bubble collapse and simultaneously the galvanic current generates, The mass loss of alloy due to cavitation increases with the bubble quantity, and increases with the increasing of Cl^- content. And both the total mass loss and the mass loss due to galvanic corrosion increase linearly with the area ratio of cavitation damaged to undamaged area. Such surface galvanic effects speed up the dissolution rate of the alloy, which, in turn, accelerates the mechanical damage, and aggravates the mass loss of the alloy. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), and X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) were carried out to investigate the morphologies, element distribution, and microstructure. The anodic polarization curves were employed to study the effect of sintering temperature on the Cl2 evolution reaction (CER) of the electrodes. The accelerated life tests (ALT) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurement (EIS) were utilized to investigate the stability. The rules of NaClO production were also studied by the static electrolysis experiment. The results indicate that sintering temperature has a significant influence on the CER properties as well as the ALT values of the electrodes. Geometric distortion desynchronizes the location of the watermark and hence causes incorrect watermark detection. In this paper,we propose a geometrically invariant digital watermarking method for color images. In order to synchronize the location for watermark insertion and detection,we use a multi-scale Harris-Laplace detector,by which feature points of a color image can be extracted that are invariant to geometric distortions. Then,the self-adaptive local image region(LIR) detection based on the feature scale theory was considered for watermarking. At each local image region,the watermark is embedded after image normalization. By binding digital watermark with invariant image regions,resilience against geometric distortion can be readily obtained. Our method belongs to the category of blind watermarking techniques,because we do not need the original image during detection.
