| 4 | Left posterior fascicular block: a new endpoint of ablation for verapamil-sensitive idiopathic ventricular tachycardia显示文摘Background Verapamil-sensitive, idiopathic left ventricular tachycardia (ILVT) with right bundle branch block configuration and left-axis deviation is known to be due to re-entry mechanism but the exact nature of reentrant circuit in ILVT is not fully elucidated. Radiofrequency (RF) ablation was applied during ventricular tachycardia (VT) and termination of the VT or abolishing the inducibility of the tachycardia was used as an endpoint for successful RF. In this study, the left posterior fascicular block in surface electrocardiogram (ECG) was used as a new endpoint of ablation to cure ILVT. Methods Electrophysiological studies and radiofrequency ablation were performed in 39 consecutive patients [30 men, 9 women; age ranging from 10 to 64 years, mean (29±16) years] with verapamil-sensitive ILVT and structurally normal hearts. VT could be terminated by the intravenous administration of verapamil in all patients. The target site was the midseptum of LV where the earliest Purkinje potentials were recorded during VT. RF current was applied to the target site with or without late diastolic potential (LDP) during sinus rhythm in 37 patients and during VT in 2 patients to meet the ablation endpoint: the left posterior fascicular block in the surface ECG. Results Thirty-seven patients with ILVT had been treated by RF ablation during sinus rhythm and two had been treated during VT. All of them met the endpoint of the left posterior fascicular block. Thirty-eight cases were symptom-free without medications during the follow-up period (range from 3 to 95 months, median 17 months). One patient developed a clinical recurrence and the left posterior fascicular block in surface ECG disappeared. The patient received another treatment. The endpoint was met and the procedure was successful. Conclusions The left posterior fascicular block in surface ECG used as an endpoint of RF ablation to treat ILVT is effective. It is important especially in those patients whose VT can not be induced or the inducible condition is unstable. | 6 | A Chromosome-Scale Genome Assembly of Paper Mulberry(Bmussonetia papyrifera)Provides New Insights into Its Forage and Papermaking Usage显示文摘Paper mulberry(Broussonetia papyrifera)is a well-known woody tree historically used for Cai Lun papermaking,one of the four great inventions of ancient China.More recently,Paper mulberry has also been used as forage to address the shortage of feedstuff because of its digestible crude fiber and high protein contents.In this study,we obtained a chromosome-scale genome assembly for Paper mulberry using integrated approaches,including Illumina and PacBio sequencing platform as well as Hi-C,optical,and genetic maps.The assembled Paper mulberry genome consists of 386.83 Mb,which is close to the estimated size,and 99.25%(383.93 Mb)of the assembly was assigned to 13 pseudochromosomes.Comparative genomic analysis revealed the expansion and contraction in the flavonoid and lignin biosynthetic gene families,respectively,accounting for the enhanced flavonoid and decreased lignin biosynthesis in Paper mulberry.Moreover,the increased ratio of syringyl-lignin to guaiacyl-lignin in Paper mulberry underscores its suitability for use in medicine,forage,papermaking,and barkcloth making.We also identified the rootassociated microbiota of Paper mulberry and found that Pseudomonas and Rhizobia were enriched in its roots and may provide the source of nitrogen for its stems and leaves via symbiotic nitrogen fixation.Collectively,these results suggest that Paper mulberry might have undergone adaptive evolution and recruited nitrogen-fixing microbes to promote growth by enhancing flavonoid production and altering lignin monomer composition.Our study provides significant insights into genetic basis of the usefulness of Paper mulberry in papermaking and barkcloth making,and as forage.These insights will facilitate further domestication and selection as well as industrial utilization of Paper mulberry worldwide. | Xianjun Peng Hui Liu Peilin Chen Feng Tang Yanmin Hu Fenfen Wang Zhi Pi Meiling Zhao Naizhi Chen Hui Chen Xiaokang Zhang Xueqing Yan Min Liu Xiaojun Fu Guofeng Zhao Pu Yao Lili Wang He Dai Xuming Li Wei Xiong Wencai Xu Hongkun Zheng Haiyan Yu Shihua Shen | 2019 | Molecular Plant2019,12,5: | 18 |

| 8 | Diagnostic accuracy of transient elastography (Fibro Scan) in detection of esophageal varices in patients with cirrhosis: A meta-analysis显示文摘AIM To investigate the diagnostic accuracy of Fibro Scan(FS) in detecting esophageal varices(EV) in cirrhotic patients.METHODS Through a systemic literature search of multiple databases, we reviewed 15 studies using endoscopy as a reference standard, with the data necessary to calculate pooled sensitivity(SEN) and specificity(SPE), positive and negative LR, diagnostic odds ratio(DOR) and area under receiver operating characteristics(AUROC). The quality of the studies was rated by the Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy studies-2 tool. Clinical utility of FS for EV was evaluated by a Fagan plot. Heterogeneity was explored using meta-regression and subgroup analysis. All statistical analyses were conducted via Stata12.0, MetaD isc1.4 and RevM an5.RESULTS In 15 studies(n = 2697), FS detected the presence of EV with the summary sensitivities of 84%(95%CI: 81.0%-86.0%), specificities of 62%(95%CI: 58.0%-66.0%), a positive LR of 2.3(95%CI: 1.81-2.94), a negative LR of 0.26(95%CI: 0.19-0.35), a DOR of 9.33(95%CI: 5.84-14.92) and an AUROC of 0.8262. FS diagnosed the presence of large EV with the pooled SEN of 0.78(95%CI: 75.0%-81.0%), SPE of 0.76(95%CI: 73.0%-78.0%), a positive and negative LR of 3.03(95%CI: 2.38-3.86) and 0.30(95%CI: 0.23-0.39) respectively, a summary diagnostic OR of 10.69(95%CI: 6.81-16.78), and an AUROC of 0.8321. A meta-regression and subgroup analysis indicated different etiology could serve as a potential source of heterogeneity in the diagnosis of the presence of EV group. A Deek's funnel plot suggested a low probability for publication bias.CONCLUSION Using FS to measure liver stiffness cannot provide high accuracy for the size of EV due to the various cutoff and different etiologies. | 9 | Self-assembled core-shell polydopamine@MXene with synergistic solar absorption capability for highly efficient solar-to-vapor generation显示文摘As a renewable and environment-friendly technology for seawater desalination and wastewater purification,solar energy triggered steam generation is attractive to address the long-standing global water scarcity issues.However,practical utilization of solar energy for steam generation is severely restricted by the complex synthesis,low energy conversion efficiency,insufficient solar spectrum absorption and water extraction capability of state-of-the-art technologies.Here,for the first time,we report a facile strategy to realize hydrogen bond induced self-assembly of a polydopamine(PDA)@MXene microsphere photothermal layer for synergistically achieving wide-spectrum and highly efficient solar absorption capability(≈96%in a wide solar spectrum range of 250–1,500 nm wavelength).Moreover,such a system renders fast water transport and vapor escaping due to the intrinsically hydrophilic nature of both MXene and PDA,as well as the interspacing between core-shell microspheres.The solar-to-vapor conversion efficiencies under the solar illumination of 1 sun and 4 sun are as high as 85.2%and 93.6%,respectively.Besides,the PDA@MXene photothermal layer renders the system durable mechanical properties,allowing producing clean water from seawater with the salt rejection rate beyond 99%.Furthermore,stable light absorption performance can be achieved and well maintained due to the formation of ternary TiO2/C/MXene complex caused by oxidative degradation of MXene.Therefore,this work proposes an attractive MXene-assisted strategy for fabricating high performance photothermal composites for advanced solar-driven seawater desalination applications. | Xing Zhao Xiang-Jun Zha Li-Sheng Tang Jun-Hong Pu Kai Ke Rui-Ying Bao Zheng-ying Liu Ming-Bo Yang Wei Yang | 2020 | Nano Research2020,13,1: | 10 |

| 12 | Prophylactic vertebroplasty procedure applied with a resorbable bone cement can decrease the fracture risk of sandwich vertebrae:long-term evaluation of clinical outcomes显示文摘A sandwich vertebra is formed after multiple osteoporotic vertebral fractures treated by percutaneous vertebroplasty,which has a risk of developing new fractures.The purpose of our study was to(i)investigate the occurrence of new fractures in sandwich vertebra after cement augmentation procedures and to(ii)evaluate the clinical outcomes after prophylactic vertebral reinforcement applied with resorbable bone cement.From June 2011 to 2014,we analysed 55 patients with at least one sandwich vertebrae and treated with percutaneous vertebroplasty.Eighteen patients were treated by prophylactic vertebroplasty with a resorbable bone cement to strengthen the sandwich vertebrae as the prevention group.The others were the non-prevention group.All patients were examined by spinal radiographs within 1 day,6 months,12 months,24 months and thereafter.The incidence of sandwich vertebra is 8.25%(55/667)in our study.Most sandwich vertebrae(69.01%,49/71)are distributed in the thoracic-lumbar junction.There are 24 sandwich vertebrae(18 patients)and 47 sandwich vertebrae(37 patients)in either prevention group or non-prevention group,respectively.No significant difference is found between age,sex,body mass index,bone mineral density,cement disk leakage,sandwich vertebrae distribution or Cobb angle in the two groups.In the follow-up,8 out of 37(21.6%)patients(with eight sandwich vertebrae)developed new fractures in non-prevention’group,whereas no new fractures were detected in the prevention group.Neither Cobb angle nor vertebral compression rate showed significant change in the prevention group during the follow-up.However,in the non-prevention group,we found that Cobb angle increased and vertebral height lost significantly(P<0.05).Prophylactic vertebroplasty procedure applied with resorbable bone cement could decrease the rate of new fractures of sandwich vertebrae. | Pu Jia Hai Tang Hao Chen Li Bao Fei Feng He Yang Jinjun Li | 2017 | Regenerative Biomaterials2017,4,1: | 8 |
| 13 | Application of AERMOD on near future air quality simulation under the latest national emission control policy of China: A case study on an industrial city显示文摘Air quality model can be an adequate tool for future air quality prediction, also atmospheric observations supporting and emission control strategies responders. The influence of emission control policy (emission reduction targets in the national 'China's 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-2015)') on the air quality in the near future over an important industrial city of China, Xuanwei in Yunnan Province, was studied by applying the AERMOD modeling system. First, our analysis demonstrated that the AERMOD modeling system could be used in the air quality simulation in the near future for SO2 and NOx under average meteorology but not for PM10. Second, after evaluating the simulation results in 2008 and 2015, ambient concentration of SO2, NOx and PM10 (only 2008) were all centered in the middle of simulation area where the emission sources concentrated, and it is probably because the air pollutions were source oriented. Last but not least, a better air quality condition will happen under the hypothesis that the average meteorological data can be used in near future simulation. However, there are still heavy polluted areas where ambient concentrations will exceed the air quality standard in near future. In spatial allocation, reduction effect of SO2 is more significant than NOx in 2015 as the contribution of SO2 from industry is more than NOx. | 14 | Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear.Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks.Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome.
