Gram-scale preparation of dialkylideneacetones through Ca(OH)_2-catalyzed Claisen-Schmidt condensation in dilute aqueous EtOH显示文摘A synthetic method of dialkylideneacetones has been developed. Compared with known protocols, the method employed catalytic Ca(OH)_2 as the cheap, mild base catalyst and dilute aqueous EtOH(20%, v/v)as the green and safe solvent. The procedure was easily operated: In most cases, the product could be isolated by a simple filtration, and purified by washing with water. This paper provided experimental details of the reactions, which could be applied in gram-scale synthesis and should be a very reliable and practical protocol to prepare these useful compounds in laboratory and at the industrial level. | Hao Zhang Mengting Han Chenggen Yang Lei Yu Qing Xu | 2019 | Chinese Chemical Letters2019,30,1: | 4
An integrated multi-energy flow calculation method for electricity-gas-thermal integrated energy systems显示文摘The modeling and multi-energy flow calculation of an integrated energy system (IES) are the bases of its operation and planning. This paper establishes the models of various energy sub-systems and the coupling equipment for an electricity-gas-thermal IES, and an integrated multi-energy flow calculation model of the IES is constructed. A simplified calculation method for the compressor model in a natural gas network, one which is not included in a loop and works in constant compression ratio mode, is also proposed based on the concept of model reduction. In addition, a numerical conversion method for dealing with the conflict between nominal value and per unit value in the multi-energy flow calculation of IES is described. A case study is given to verify the correctness and speed of the proposed method, and the electricity-gas-thermal coupling interaction characteristics among sub-systems are studied. | Mengting Zhu Chengsi Xu Shufeng Dong Kunjie Tang Chenghong Gu | 2021 | Protection and Control of Modern Power Systems2021,6,1: | 4
Multimodal interaction design and application in augmented reality for chemical experiment显示文摘Background Augmented reality classrooms have become an interesting research topic in the field of education, but there are some limitations.Firstly, most researchers use cards to operate experiments, and a large number of cards cause difficulty and inconvenience for users.Secondly, most users conduct experiments only in the visual modal, and such single-modal interaction greatly reduces the users'real sense of interaction. In order to solve these problems,we propose the Multimodal Interaction Algorithm based on Augmented Reality(ARGEV),which is based on visual and tactile feedback in Augmented Reality. In addition,we design a Virtual and Real Fusion Interactive Tool Suite(VRFITS)with gesture recognition and intelligent equipment. Methods The ARGVE method fuses gesture, intelligent equipment, and virtual models. We use a gesture recognition model trained by a convolutional neural network to recognize the gestures in AR,and to trigger a vibration feedback after a recognizing a five finger grasp gesture. We establish a coordinate mapping relationship between real hands and the virtual model to achieve the fusion of gestures and the virtual model. Results The average accuracy rate of gesture recognition was 99.04%.We verify and apply VRFITS in the Augmented Reality Chemistry Lab(ARCL),and the overall operation load of ARCL is thus reduced by 29.42%,in comparison to traditional simulation virtual experiments. Conclusions We achieve real-time fusion of the gesture, virtual model, and intelligent equipment in ARCL.Compared with the NOBOOK virtual simulation experiment,ARCL improves the users'real sense of operation and interaction efficiency. | Mengting XIAO Zhiquan FENG Xiaohui YANG Tao XU Qingbei GUO | 2020 | Virtual Reality & Intelligent Hardware2020,2,4: | 3
Elucidation of the sodium kinetics in layered P-type oxide cathodes显示文摘Sodium-ion intercalation oxides generally possess high compositional diversity according to their different stacking sequences. The sodium diffusion pathway in layered P-type materials used in sodium-ion batteries is open, which can increase their rate capability by directly transmitting Na+between adjacent triangular prismatic channels, rather than passing through an intermediate tetrahedral site in O-type structure. However, how the structure chemistry of the P-type oxides determines their electrochemical properties has not been fully understood yet.Herein,by comparing the crystalline structures, electrochemical behaviors,ion/electron transport dynamics of a couple of P-type intercalation cathodes,P2-Na_(2/3)Ni1/3Mn_(2/3)O_(2)and P3-Na_(2/3)Ni_(1/3)Mn_(2/3)O_(2)with the same compositions,we demonstrate experimentally and computationally that the P2 phase delivers better cycling stability and rate capability than the P3 counterpart due to the predominant contribution of the faster intrinsic Na diffusion kinetics in the P2 bulk.We also point out that it is the electronic conductivity that captures the key electrochemistry of layered P3-type materials and makes them possible to enhance the sodium storage performance. The results reveal that the correlation between stacking structure and functional properties in two typical layered P-type cathodes, providing new guidelines for preparing and designing alkali-metal layered oxide materials with improved battery performance. | Lianzheng Yu Haojie Dong Yu-Xin Chang Zhiwei Cheng Kang Xu Yi-Hu Feng Duo Si Xu Zhu Mengting Liu Bing Xiao Peng-Fei Wang Sailong Xu | 2022 | Science China Chemistry2022,65,10: | 3

Histone deacetylase inhibitors inhibit cervical cancer growth through Parkin acetylationmediated mitophagy显示文摘Parkin,an E3 ubiquitin ligase, plays a role in maintaining mitochondrial homeostasis through targeting damaged mitochondria for mitophagy.Accumulating evidence suggests that the acetylation modification of the key mitophagy machinery influences mitophagy level, but the underlying mechanism is poorly understood. Here, our study demonstrated that inhibition of histone deacetylase(HDAC)by treatment of HDACis activates mitophagy through mediating Parkin acetylation, leading to inhibition of cervical cancer cell proliferation.Bioinformatics analysis shows that Parkin expression is inversely correlated with HDAC2 expression in human cervical cancer, indicating the low acetylation level of Parkin.Using mass spectrometry,Parkin is identified to interact with two upstream molecules, acetylase acetyl-Co A acetyltransferase 1(ACAT1)and deacetylase HDAC2.Under treatment of suberoylanilide hydroxamic acid(SAHA),Parkin is acetylated at lysine residues 129,220 and 349,located in different domains of Parkin protein. In in vitro experiments, combined mutation of Parkin largely attenuate the interaction of Parkin with PTEN induced putative kinase 1(PINK1)and the function of Parkin in mitophagy induction and tumor suppression. In tumor xenografts, the expression of mutant Parkin impairs the tumor suppressive effect of Parkin and decreases the anticancer activity of SAHA.Our results reveal an acetylation-dependent regulatory mechanism governing Parkin in mitophagy and cervical carcinogenesis, which offers a new mitophagy modulation strategy for cancer therapy. | Xin Sun Yuhan Shu Guiqin Ye Caixia Wu Mengting Xu Ruilan Gao Dongsheng Huang Jianbin Zhang | 2022 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,2: | 3
Ensemble data assimilation and prediction of typhoon and associated hazards using TEDAPS:evaluation for 2015-2018 seasons显示文摘The initial condition accuracy is a major concern for tropical cyclone(TC)numerical forecast. The ensemble-based data assimilation techniques have shown great promise to initialize TC forecast. In addition to initial condition uncertainty, representing model errors(e.g.physics deficiencies)is another important issue in an ensemble forecasting system. To improve TC prediction from both deterministic and probabilistic standpoints,a Typhoon Ensemble Data Assimilation and Prediction System(TEDAPS)using an ensemble-based data assimilation scheme and a multi-physics approach based on Weather Research and Forecasting(WRF)model, has been developed in Shanghai Typhoon Institute and running realtime since 2015.Performance of TED APS in the prediction of track, intensity and associated disaster has been evaluated for the Western North Pacific TCs in the years of 2015-2018,and compared against the NCEP GEFS.TED APS produces markedly better intensity forecast by effectively reducing the weak biases and therefore the degree of underdispersion compared to GEFS.The errors of TED APS track forecasts are comparative with(slightly worse than)those of GEFS at longer(shorter)forecast leads.TEDAPS ensemble-mean exhibits advantage over deterministic forecast in track forecasts at long lead times, whereas this superiority is limited to typhoon or weaker TCs in intensity forecasts due to systematical underestimation.Four case-studies for three landfalling cyclones and one recurving cyclone demonstrate the capacities of TEDAPS in predicting some challenging TCs,as well as in capturing the forecast uncertainty and the potential threat from TC-associated hazards. | Hong LI Jingyao LUO Mengting XU | 2019 | Frontiers of Earth Science2019,13,4: | 3

Polyamines mediate the effect of post-anthesis soil drying on starch granule size distribution in wheat kernels显示文摘Polyamines(PAs) are important endogenous plant growth regulators responding to environmental stress and mediating many physiological processes including grain filling in cereals. This study investigated whether PAs mediate the effect of post-anthesis soil drying on starch granule size distribution, starch content, and weight of superior and inferior kernels of wheat(Triticum aestivum L.).Two wheat cultivars were grown in pots.Three treatments,well-watered(WW),moderate soil drying(MD) and severe soil drying(SD),were imposed from 9 days post-anthesis until maturity.PA levels in kernels and small, medium and large granules were measured. The results showed that superior kernels had much higher free spermidine(Spd) and free spermine(Spm) concentrations, larger volumes of medium starch granules, and smaller-sized large granules than did inferior kernels under all the treatments.Compared to WW,MD significantly increased the concentrations of free Spd and free Spm,activities of soluble starch synthase and granule-bound starch synthase, volume of medium granules, and starch content and kernel weight of inferior kernels, and decreased the size of large granules.SD produced the opposite effect.Application of Spd or Spm to spikes produced effects similar to those of MD,and application of an inhibitor of Spd and Spm synthesis produced effects similar to those of SD.These results suggest that PAs mediate the effect of post-anthesis soil drying on starch biosynthesis in wheat kernels by regulating key enzymes in starch synthesis and that elevated PA levels under MD increase the volume of medium granules and kernel weight of inferior kernels. | Yunji Xu Mengting Qiu Yinyin Li Xiyang Qian Junfei Gu Jianchang Yang | 2016 | The Crop Journal2016,4,6: | 2
Biomarkers of aging显示文摘Aging biomarkers are a combination of biological parameters to(i)assess age-related changes,(ii)track the physiological aging process, and(iii)predict the transition into a pathological status.Although a broad spectrum of aging biomarkers has been developed, their potential uses and limitations remain poorly characterized. An immediate goal of biomarkers is to help us answer the following three fundamental questions in aging research:How old are we?Why do we get old?And how can we age slower? This review aims to address this need. Here,we summarize our current knowledge of biomarkers developed for cellular, organ, and organismal levels of aging, comprising six pillars:physiological characteristics, medical imaging, histological features, cellular alterations, molecular changes, and secretory factors. To fulfill all these requisites,we propose that aging biomarkers should qualify for being specific, systemic, and clinically relevant. | Aging Biomarker Consortium Hainan Bao Jiani Cao Mengting Chen Min Chen Wei Chen Xiao Chen Yanhao Chen Yu Chen Yutian Chen Zhiyang Chen Jagadish K Chhetri Yingjie Ding Junlin Feng Jun Guo Mengmeng Guo Chuting He Yujuan Jia Haiping Jiang Ying Jing Dingfeng Li Jiaming Li Jingyi Li Qinhao Liang Rui Liang Feng Liu Xiaoqian Liu Zuojun Liu Oscar Junhong Luo Jianwei Lv Jingyi Ma Kehang Mao Jiawei Nie Xinhua Qiao Xinpei Sun Xiaoqiang Tang Jianfang Wang Qiaoran Wang Siyuan Wang Xuan Wang Yaning Wang Yuhan Wang Rimo Wu Kai Xia Fu-Hui Xiao Lingyan Xu Yingying Xu Haoteng Yan Liang Yang Ruici Yang Yuanxin Yang Yilin Ying Le Zhang Weiwei Zhang Wenwan Zhang Xing Zhang Zhuo Zhang Min Zhou Rui Zhou Qingchen Zhu Zhengmao Zhu Feng Cao Zhongwei Cao Piu Chan Chang Chen Guobing Chen Hou-Zao Chen Jun Chen Weimin Ci Bi-Sen Ding Qiurong Ding Feng Gao Jing-Dong JHan Kai Huang Zhenyu Ju Qing-Peng Kong Ji Li Jian Li Xin Li Baohua Liu Feng Liu Lin Liu Qiang Liu Qiang Liu Xingguo Liu Yong Liu Xianghang Luo Shuai Ma Xinran Ma Zhiyong Mao Jing Nie Yaojin Peng Jing Qu Jie Ren Ruibao Ren Moshi Song Zhou Songyang Yi Eve Sun Yu Sun Mei Tian Shusen Wang Si Wang Xia Wang Xiaoning Wang Yan-Jiang Wang Yunfang Wang Catherine CL Wong Andy Peng Xiang Yichuan Xiao Zhengwei Xie Daichao Xu Jing Ye Rui Yue Cuntai Zhang Hongbo Zhang Liang Zhang Weiqi Zhang Yong Zhang Yun-Wu Zhang Zhuohua Zhang Tongbiao Zhao Yuzheng Zhao Dahai Zhu Weiguo Zou Gang Pei Guang-Hui Liu | 2023 | Science China(Life Sciences)2023,66,5: | 2
HEXOKINASE1 forms a nuclear complex with the PRC2 subunits CURLY LEAF and SWINGER to regulate glucose signaling显示文摘The glucose sensor HEXOKINASE1(HXK1)integrates myriad external and internal signals to regulate gene expression and development in Arabidopsis thaliana. However, how HXK1 mediates glucose signaling in the nucleus remains unclear. Here, using immunoprecipitationcoupled mass spectrometry,we show that two catalytic subunits of Polycomb Repressive Complex 2,SWINGER(SWN)and CURLY LEAF(CLF),directly interact with catalytically active HXK1 and its inactive forms(HXK1^(G104D) and HXK1^(S177A))via their evolutionarily conserved SANT domains.HXK1,CLF,and SWN target common glucose-responsive genes to regulate glucose signaling,as revealed by RNA sequencing. The glucose-insensitive phenotypes of the Arabidopsis swn-1 and clf-50 mutants were similar to that of hxk1,and genetic analysis revealed that CLF,SWN,and HXK1 function in the same genetic pathway.Intriguingly,HXK1 is required for CLF-and SWN-mediated histone H3 lysine 27(H3K27me3)deposition and glucose-mediated gene repression. Moreover,CLF and SWN affect the recruitment of HXK1 to its target chromatin. These findings support a model in which HXK1 and epigenetic modifiers form a nuclear complex to cooperatively mediate glucose signaling, thereby affecting the histone modification and expression of glucoseregulated genes in plants. | Yutong Liu Yunshu Bai Ning Li Mengting Li Wenxin Liu Dae-Jin Yun Bao Liu Zheng-Yi Xu | 2022 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2022,64,6: | 1

Explicating the Role of Metal Centers in Porphyrin-Based MOFs of PCN-222(M) for Electrochemical Reduction of CO_(2)显示文摘The porphyrin-based MOFs formed by combining Zrclusters and porphyrin carboxylic acids with clear M-Nactive centers show unique advantages in electrocatalytic reduction of CO(CORR). However, its conductivity is still the bottleneck that limits its catalytic activity due to the electrical insulation of the Zr cluster. Therefore, the porphyrin-based MOFs of PCN-222(M)(M = Mn, Co, Ni, Zn) with explicit M-Ncoordination were combined with the highly conductive material carbon nanotube(CNT) for discussing the influence of metal centers on the CORR performance based on theoretical calculations and experimental observations. The results show that the PCN-222(Mn)/CNT, PCN-222(Co)/CNT, and PCN-222(Zn)/CNT all exhibit high selectivity to CO(FECO > 80%) in the range of-0.60 to-0.70 V vs. RHE. The FECOmax of PCN-222(Mn)/CNT(-0.60 V vs. RHE), PCN-222(Co)/CNT(-0.65 V vs. RHE), and PCN-222(Zn)/CNT(-0.70 V vs.RHE) are 88.5%, 89.3% and 92.5%, respectively. The high catalytic activity of PCN-222(Mn)/CNT and PCN-222(Co)/CNT comes from the excellent electron mobility of their porphyrin rings and their low ΔG*COOH(0.87 and 0.58 eV). It reveals that the strength of backbonding π of the transition metal and its influence on the electron mobility in the porphyrin ring can affect its CORR activity. | Mengjie Liu Mengting Peng Baoxia Dong Yunlei Teng Ligang Feng Qiang Xu | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Structural Chemistry2022,41,7: | 1
Predictability and dynamics of the rapid intensification of Super Typhoon Lekima (2019)显示文摘This study explores the effect of the initial axisymmetric wind structure and moisture on the predictability of the peak intensity of Typhoon Lekima(2019)through a 20-member ensemble forecast using the WRF model. The ensemble members are separated into Strong and Weak groups according to the maximum 10-m wind speed at 48 h.In our study of Lekima(2019),the initial intensity defined by maximum 10-m wind speed is not a good predictor of the intensity forecast. The peak intensity uncertainty is sensitive to the initial primary circulation outside the radius of maximum wind(RMW)and the initial secondary circulation. With greater absolute angular momentum(AAM)beyond the RMW directly related to stronger primary circulation, and stronger radial inflow,Strong group is found to have larger AAM import in lowlevel, helping to spin up the TC.Initial moisture in innercore is also critical to the intensity predictability through the development of inner-core convection. The aggregation and merger of convection, leading to the TC intensification,is influenced by both radial advection and gradient of system-scale vortex vorticity.Three sensitivity experiments are conducted to study the effect of model uncertainty in terms of model horizontal grid resolution on intensity forecast. The horizontal grid resolution greatly impacts the predictability of Lekima’s intensity, and the finer resolution is helpful to simulate the intensification and capture the observed peak value. | Mengting XU Hong LI Jingyao LUO Hairong BEN Yijie ZHU | 2022 | Frontiers of Earth Science2022,16,1: | 1
Novel pneumatically assisted atomization device for living cell delivery:application of sprayed mesenchymal stem cells for skin regeneration显示文摘Large cutaneous wounds pose a severe medical problem and may be deadly in cases when regeneration is impaired.Recently, topical stem cell therapy has been realized as a promising strategy for wound healing and skin regeneration. However, stem cells must be administrated uniformly to the wound area, otherwise treatment will be ineffective, which has been a limitation of current administration methods.Specifically, the delivery pressure and nozzle features of most clinical cell spray devices are unknown, which may significantly affect the viability of sprayed cells and their capacity for proliferation.Herein,we developed a novel pneumatically assisted atomization device(PAAD)in which cell suspensions were uniformly atomized at a low delivery pressure. We optimized the applied fluidic pressure and air pressure to maximize cell survival and function for the application of multiple cell types, while ensuring uniform dispersal across the wound site. Moreover,we found that the application of sprayed umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells to wound sites significantly accelerated wound healing and promoted appendage regeneration on an excisional cutaneous wound model.Overall, the novel PAAD system delivered living cells uniformly and maintained the viability and differentiation of sprayed cells, strongly suggesting its potential for application in clinical cell therapy, especially for large, irregular, and severe skin wounds. | Lixing Zhang Xintao Yan Li An Meijia Wang Xi Xu Zhonglin Ma Mengting Nie Fangzhou Du Jingzhong Zhang Shuang Yu | 2022 | Bio-Design and Manufacturing2022,5,1: | 1

Solid Additive-Assisted Layer-by-Layer Processing for 19%Efficiency Binary Organic Solar Cells显示文摘Morphology is of great significance to the performance of organic solar cells(OSCs),since appropriate morphology could not only promote the exciton dissociation, but also reduce the charge recombination. In this work,we have developed a solid additive-assisted layer-by-layer(SAA-LBL)processing to fabricate high-efficiency OSCs.By adding the solid additive of fatty acid(FA)into polymer donor PM6 solution, controllable pre-phase separation forms between PM6 and FA.This intermixed morphology facilitates the diffusion of acceptor Y6 into the donor PM6 during the LBL processing, due to the good miscibility and fast-solvation of the FA with chloroform solution dripping.Interestingly, this results in the desired morphology with refined phase-separated domain and vertical phase-separation structure to better balance the charge transport/collection and exciton dissociation.Consequently, the binary single junction OSCs based on PM6:Y6 blend reach champion power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 18.16%with SAA-LBL processing, which can be generally applicable to diverse systems,e.g.,the PM6:L8-BO-based devices and thick-film devices. The efficacy of SAA-LBL is confirmed in binary OSCs based on PM6:L8-BO,where record PCEs of 19.02%and 16.44%are realized for devices with 100 and 250 nm active layers, respectively. The work provides a simple but effective way to control the morphology for high-efficiency OSCs and demonstrates the SAA-LBL processing a promising methodology for boosting the industrial manufacturing of OSCs. | Guanyu Ding Tianyi Chen Mengting Wang Xinxin Xia Chengliang He Xiangjun Zheng Yaokai Li Di Zhou Xinhui Lu Lijian Zuo Zhikang Xu Hongzheng Chen | 2023 | Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,7: | 1
Weight asynchronous update:Improving the diversity of filters in a deep convolutional network显示文摘Deep convolutional networks have obtained remarkable achievements on various visual tasks due to their strong ability to learn a variety of features.A welltrained deep convolutional network can be compressed to 20%–40%of its original size by removing filters that make little contribution,as many overlapping features are generated by redundant filters.Model compression can reduce the number of unnecessary filters but does not take advantage of redundant filters since the training phase is not affected.Modern networks with residual, dense connections and inception blocks are considered to be able to mitigate the overlap in convolutional filters, but do not necessarily overcome the issue. To do so,we propose a new training strategy, weight asynchronous update, which helps to significantly increase the diversity of filters and enhance the representation ability of the network. The proposed method can be widely applied to different convolutional networks without changing the network topology. Our experiments show that the stochastic subset of filters updated in different iterations can significantly reduce filter overlap in convolutional networks.Extensive experiments show that our method yields noteworthy improvements in neural network performance. | Dejun Zhang Linchao He Mengting Luo Zhanya Xu and Fazhi He | 2020 | Computational Visual Media2020,6,4: | 1
| 20 | Recent progress on fabrication and flat-band physics in 2D transition metal dichalcogenides moiré superlattices显示文摘Moiré superlattices are formed when overlaying two materials with a slight mismatch in twist angle or lattice constant. They provide a novel platform for the study of strong electronic correlations and non-trivial band topology, where emergent phenomena such as correlated insulating states, unconventional superconductivity, and quantum anomalous Hall effect are discovered. In this review, we focus on the semiconducting transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs) based moiré systems that host intriguing flat-band physics. We first review the exfoliation methods of two-dimensional materials and the fabrication technique of their moiré structures. Secondly, we overview the progress of the optically excited moiré excitons, which render the main discovery in the early experiments on TMD moiré systems. We then introduce the formation mechanism of flat bands and their potential in the quantum simulation of the Hubbard model with tunable doping, degeneracies, and correlation strength.
