| 1 | Remote Monitoring of Expansion of Aquaculture Ponds Along Coastal Region of the Yellow River Delta from 1983 to 2015显示文摘Aquaculture ponds are one of the fastest-growing land use types in valuable and fertile coastal areas and have caused serious environmental problems. Quantitative assessment of the extent, spatial distribution, and dynamics of aquaculture ponds is of utmost importance for sustainable economic development and scientific management of land and water resources in the coastal area. An object-oriented classification approach was applied to Landsat images acquired over three decades to investigate the long-term change of aquaculture ponds in the coastal region of the Yellow River Delta. The results indicated that the aquaculture ponds in the study area undergone a sharp expansion from 40.38 km^2 in 1983 to 1406.89 km^2 in 2015, and the fast expansion occurred during the period of 2010–2015 and 1990–2000. Natural wetlands, especially mudflat, and cropland were main land use types contributing to the increase of aquaculture ponds. The patches of aquaculture ponds were consequently prevalence in the north of the Yellow River Estuary and landscape metrics indicated an increase of the aquaculture ponds of the study area in the quantity and complexity. | 5 | Impacts of Land Cover Changes on Ecosystem Carbon Stocks Over the Transboundary Tumen River Basin in Northeast Asia显示文摘Understanding the effects of land cover changes on ecosystem carbon stocks is essential for ecosystem management and environmental protection, particularly in the transboundary region that has undergone marked changes. This study aimed to examine the impacts of land cover changes on ecosystem carbon stocks in the transboundary Tumen River Basin(TTRB). We extracted the spatial information from Landsat Thematic Imager(TM) and Operational Land Imager(OLI) images for the years 1990 and 2015 and obtained convincing estimates of terrestrial biomass and soil carbon stocks with the InVEST model. The results showed that forestland, cropland and built-up land increased by 57.5, 429.7 and 128.9 km2, respectively, while grassland, wetland and barren land declined by 24.9, 548.0 and 43.0 km2, respectively in the TTRB from 1990 to 2015. The total carbon stocks encompassing aboveground, belowground, soil and litter layer carbon storage pools have declined from 831.48 Tg C in 1990 to 831.42 Tg C in 2015 due to land cover changes. In detail, the carbon stocks decreased by 3.13 Tg C and 0.44 Tg C in Democratic People's Republic of Korea(North Korea) and Russia, respectively, while increased by 3.51 Tg C in China. Furthermore, economic development, and national policy accounted for most land cover changes in the TTRB. | 6 | Lactobacillus reuteri-derived extracellular vesicles maintain intestinal immune homeostasis against lipopolysaccharideinduced inflammatory responses in broilers显示文摘Background:Lactobacillus reuteri strains are widely used as probiotics to prevent and treat inflammatory bowel disease by modulating the host’s immune system.However,the underlying mechanisms by which they communicate with the host have not been clearly understood.Bacterial extracellular vesicles(EVs)have been considered as important mediators of host-pathogen interactions,but their potential role in commensals-host crosstalk has not been widely studied.Here,we investigated the regulatory actions of EVs produced by L.reuteri BBC3,a gut-associated commensal bacterium of Black-Bone chicken,in the development of lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced intestinal inflammation in a chicken model using both in vivo and in vitro experiments.Results:L.reuteri BBC3 produced nano-scale membrane vesicles with the size range of 60-250 nm.Biochemical and proteomic analyses showed that L.reuteri BBC3-derived EVs(LrEVs)carried DNA,RNA and several bioactive proteins previously described as mediators of other probiotics’beneficial effects such as glucosyltransferase,serine protease and elongation factor Tu.In vivo broiler experiments showed that administration of LrEVs exerted similar effects as L.reuteri BBC3 in attenuating LPS-induced inflammation by improving growth performance,reducing mortality and decreasing intestinal injury.LrEVs suppressed the LPS-induced expression of pro-inflammatory genes(TNF-α,IL-1β,IL-6,IL-17 and IL-8),and improved the expression of anti-inflammatory genes(IL-10 and TGF-β)in the jejunum.LrEVs could be internalized by chicken macrophages.In vitro pretreatment with LrEVs reduced the gene expression of TNF-α,IL-1βand IL-6 by suppressing the NF-κB activity,and enhanced the gene expression of IL-10 and TGF-βin LPS-activated chicken macrophages.Additionally,LrEVs could inhibit Th1-and Th17-mediated inflammatory responses and enhance the immunoregulatory cells-mediated immunosuppression in splenic lymphocytes of LPS-challenged chickens through the activation of macrophages.Finally,we revealed that the reduced content of both vesicular proteins and nucleic acids attenuated the suppression of LrEVs on LPS-induced inflammatory responses in ex vivo experiments,suggesting that they are essential for the LrEVs-mediated immunoregulation.Conclusions:We revealed that LrEVs participated in maintaining intestinal immune homeostasis against LPSinduced inflammatory responses in a chicken model.Our findings provide mechanistic insight into how commensal and probiotic Lactobacillus species modulate the host’s immune system in pathogens-induced inflammation. | Rujiu Hu Hua Lin Mimi Wang Yuezhen Zhao Haojing Liu Yuna Min Xiaojun Yang Yupeng Gao Mingming Yang | 2021 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2021,12,3: | 5 |
| 7 | Preparation and in vitro-in vivo evaluation of intestinal retention pellets of Berberine chloride to enhance hypoglycemic and lipid-lowing efficacy显示文摘Berberine chloride(BBR) is a pharmacokinetic profile of drug with poor bioavailability but good therapeutic efficacy,which is closely related to the discovery of BBR intestinal target.The major aim of this paper is to develop BBR intestinal retention type sustained-release pellets and evaluate their in vivo and in vitro behaviors base on the aspect of local action on intestinal tract. Here,wet milling technology is used to improve dissolution and dissolution rate of BBR by decreasing the particle size and increasing the wettability. The pellets are prepared by liquid layer deposition technology,and then the core pellets are coated with Eudragit~?L30 D-55 and Eudragit~?NE30 D aqueous dispersion. The prepared pellets show high drug loading capacity,and the drug loading up to 93%. Meanwhile,it possesses significant sustained drug release effect in purified water which is expected to improve the pharmacokinetic behavior of BBR. The pharmacokinetics results demonstrate that the halflife of BBR was increased significantly from 24 h to 36 h and the inter-and intra-subject variability are decreased compared to commercial BBR tablets. The retention test results indicate that the pellet size and Eudragit~?NE30 D plays an important role in retention time of the pellet,and it is found that the pellets with small particle size and high Eudragit~?NE30 D coating content can stay longer in the intestine than the pellets with large particle size. | 10 | Production sharing contract: An analysis based on an oil price stochastic process显示文摘Assuming that oil price follows the stochastic processes of Geometric Brownian Motion (GBM) or the Mean-Reverting Process (MRP), this paper takes the net present value (NPV) as an economic index and models the PSC in 11 different scenarios by changing the value of each contract element (i.e. royalty, cost oil, profit oil as well as income tax). Then the NPVs are shown in probability density graphs to investigate the effect of different elements on contract economics. The results show that under oil price uncertainty the influence of profit oil and income tax on NPV are more significant than those of royalty and cost oil, while a tax holiday could improve the contractor's financial status remarkably. | 13 | Optical and electrical properties of a spiral LED filament显示文摘This paper introduces a new type of spiral white light-emitting diodes(WLED) filament with high luminous efficiency and uniform optical performance. The optical and thermal properties of the flexible filament were investigated at different stretching heights, namely 0, 1, 2, and 3 cm. The results indicated that the filament showed the best optical characteristics at the stretching height of 2 cm, because of good heat dissipation. In addition, the radiation temperature of the filament was inversely proportional to the output luminous flux. The reliability of the filament at a stretching height of 2 cm was also evaluated after 1000 h of use. The result demonstrated that the luminous flux decay of the bulb was only 0.85%. | 14 | Lymphangiogenesis contributes to exercise-induced physiological cardiac growth显示文摘Background:Promoting cardiac lymphangiogenesis exerts beneficial effects for the heart.Exercise can induce physiological cardiac growth with cardiomyocyte hypertrophy and increased proliferation markers in cardiomyocytes.However,it remains unclear whether and how lymphangiogenesis contributes to exercise-induced physiological cardiac growth.We aimed to investigate the role and mechanism of lymphangiogenesis in exercise-induced physiological cardiac growth.Methods:Adult C57 BL6/J mice were subjected to 3 weeks of swimming exercise to induce physiological cardiac growth.Oral treatment with vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 3(VEGFR3) inhibitor SAR1 3 1 675 was used to investigate whether cardiac lymphangiogenesis was required for exercise-induced physiological cardiac growth by VEGFR3 activation.Furthermore,human dermal lymphatic endothelial cell(LEC)-conditioned medium was collected to culture isolated neonatal rat cardiomyocytes to determine whether and how LECs could influence cardiomyocyte proliferation and hypertrophy.Results:Swimming exercise induced physiological cardiac growth accompanied by a remarkable increase of cardiac lymphangiogenesis as evidenced by increased density of lymphatic vessel endothelial hyaluronic acid receptor 1-positive lymphatic vessels in the heart and upregulated LYVE-1 and Podoplanin expressions levels.VEGFR3 was upregulated in the exercised heart,while VEGFR3 inhibitor SAR131675 attenuated exercise-induced physiological cardiac growth as evidenced by blunted myocardial hypertrophy and reduced proliferation marker Ki67 in cardiomyocytes,which was correlated with reduced lymphatic vessel density and downregulated LYVE-1 and Podoplanin in the heart upon exercise.Furthermore,LEC-conditioned medium promoted both hypertrophy and proliferation of cardiomyocytes and contained higher levels of insulinlike growth factor-1 and the extracellular protein Reelin,while LEC-conditioned medium from LECs treated with SAR131675 blocked these effects.Functional rescue assays further demonstrated that protein kinase B(AKT) activation,as well as reduced CCAAT enhancer-binding protein beta(C/EBPβ) and increased CBP/p300-interacting transactivators with E(glutamic acid)/D(aspartic acid)-rich-carboxylterminal domain 4(CITED4),contributed to the promotive effect of LEC-conditioned medium on cardiomyocyte hypertrophy and proliferation.Conclusion:Our findings reveal that cardiac lymphangiogenesis is required for exercise-induced physiological cardiac growth by VEGFR3 activation,and they indicate that LEC-conditioned medium promotes both physiological hypertrophy and proliferation of cardiomyocytes through AKT activation and the C/EBPβ-CITED4 axis.These results highlight the essential roles of cardiac lymphangiogenesis in exercise-induced physiological cardiac growth. | Yihua Bei Zhenzhen Huang Xing Feng Lin Li Meng Wei Yujiao Zhu Shuqin Liu Chen Chen Mingming Yin Huimin Jiang Junjie Xiao | 2022 | Journal of Sport and Health Science2022,11,4: | 2 |

| 18 | Stoichiometric effect on electrical and near-infrared photodetection properties of full-composition-range GaAs1−xSbx nanowires显示文摘As one of the most important narrow bandgap ternary semiconductors, GaAs1−xSbx nanowires (NWs) have attracted extensive attention recently, due to the superior hole mobility and the tunable bandgap, which covers the whole near-infrared (NIR) region, for technological applications in next-generation high-performance electronics and NIR photodetection. However, it is still a challenge to the synthesis of high-quality GaAs1−xSbx NWs across the entire range of composition, resulting in the lack of correlation investigation among stoichiometry, microstructure, electronics, and NIR photodetection. Here, we demonstrate the success growth of high-quality GaAs1−xSbx NWs with full composition range by adopting a simple and low-cost surfactant-assisted solid source chemical vapor deposition method. All of the as-prepared NWs are uniform, smooth, and straight, without any phase segregation in all stoichiometric compositions. The lattice constants of each NW composition have been well correlated with the chemical stoichiometry and confirmed by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and Raman spectrum. Moreover, with the increase of Sb concentration, the hole mobility of the as-fabricated field-effect-transistors and the responsivity and detectivity of the as-fabricated NIR photodetectors increase accordingly. | 19 | Bio-inspired flexible artificial synapses for pain perception and nerve injuries显示文摘Imitation of the perception system of living creatures is of great importance for the construction of artificial nerves and intelligent human-machine interfaces.However,a prominent challenge is to emulate the functions of the biological synapse,which is the basic building block of the neural system.Here,inspired by the pain perception mechanism of the living creatures,a flexible double-layer memristor was constructed,with 90%semiconducting single-wall carbon nanotubes(s-SWCNTs)covered by LiClO4 doped polyoxyethylene oxide(PEO:LiClO4)as the channel materials.The carriers(protons and Li+)from PEO:LiClO4 imitated the functions of Na+and K+in biological systems.A potentiation of the post-synaptic signal was observed with mild stimuli,while the post-synaptic signal was inhibited with severe stimuli with a pulse voltage larger than 1.4 V in this research.These behaviors resemble the sensation of pain,neuroprotection,and possible injuries to the neural system.To explore the underlying mechanism of the phenomenon,the fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),Raman spectrum,and current(IV)sweep were carried out.It was inferred that the observed results are attributable to the interaction between carriers in PEO:LiClO4 and functional groups and defects in the s-SWCNTs.The enhanced channel current results from the fulfillment of the traps by the carriers,and the suppression of the current is due to the intercalation of Li+in the s-SWCNTs.This flexible artificial synapse opens a new avenue for the construction of biocompatible electronic devices towards artificial intelligence systems. | Qifeng Lu Fuqin Sun Lin Liu Lianhui Li Mingming Hao Zihao Wang Ting Zhang | 2020 | npj Flexible Electronics2020,4,1: | 1 |
