2Developing the Science Product Algorithm Testbed for Chinese Next-Generation Geostationary Meteorological Satellites:Fengyun-4 Series显示文摘Fengyun-4A(FY-4A), the first of the Chinese next-generation geostationary meteorological satellites, launched in2016, offers several advances over the FY-2: more spectral bands, faster imaging, and infrared hyperspectral measurements. To support the major objective of developing the prototypes of FY-4 science algorithms, two science product algorithm testbeds for imagers and sounders have been developed by the scientists in the FY-4 Algorithm Working Group(AWG). Both testbeds, written in FORTRAN and C programming languages for Linux or UNIX systems, have been tested successfully by using Intel/g compilers. Some important FY-4 science products, including cloud mask, cloud properties, and temperature profiles, have been retrieved successfully through using a proxy imager, Himawari-8/Advanced Himawari Imager(AHI), and sounder data, obtained from the Atmospheric Infra Red Sounder, thus demonstrating their robustness. 4Natural history of covert hepatic encephalopathy: An observational study of 366 cirrhotic patients显示文摘AIM To explore the natural history of covert hepatic encephalopathy(CHE) in absence of medication intervention.METHODS Consecutive outpatient cirrhotic patients in a Chinese tertiary care hospital were enrolled and evaluated for CHE diagnosis. They were followed up for a mean of 11.2 ± 1.3 mo. Time to the first cirrhosis-related complications requiring hospitalization, including overt HE(OHE), resolution of CHE and death/transplantation, were compared between CHE and no-CHE patients. Predictors for complication(s) and death/transplantation were also analyzed.RESULTS A total of 366 patients(age: 47.2 ± 8.6 years, male: 73.0%) were enrolled. CHE was identified in 131 patients(35.8%). CHE patients had higher rates of death and incidence of complications requiring hospitalization, including OHE, compared to unimpaired patients. Moreover, 17.6% of CHE patients developed OHE, 42.0% suffered persistent CHE, and 19.8% of CHE spontaneously resolved. In CHE patients, serum albumin < 30 g/L(HR = 5.22, P = 0.03) was the sole predictor for developing OHE, and blood creatinine > 133 μmol/L(HR = 4.75, P = 0.036) predicted mortality. Child-Pugh B/C(HR = 0.084, P < 0.001) and OHE history(HR = 0.15, P = 0.014) were predictors of spontaneous resolution of CHE.CONCLUSION CHE exacerbates, persists or resolves without medication intervention in clinically stable cirrhosis. 6Prognostic value of risk scoring systems for cirrhotic patients with variceal bleeding显示文摘BACKGROUND Acute variceal bleeding is one of the deadliest complications of cirrhosis,with a high risk of in-hospital rebleeding and mortality.Some risk scoring systems to predict clinical outcomes in patients with upper gastrointestinal bleeding have been developed.However,for cirrhotic patients with variceal bleeding,data regarding the predictive value of these prognostic scores in predicting in-hospital outcomes are limited and controversial.AIM To validate and compare the overall performance of selected prognostic scoring systems for predicting in-hospital outcomes in cirrhotic patients with variceal bleeding.METHODS From March 2017 to June 2019,cirrhotic patients with acute variceal bleeding were retrospectively enrolled at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University.The clinical Rockall score(CRS),AIMS65 score(AIMS65),Glasgow-Blatchford score(GBS),modified GBS(mGBS),Canada-United Kingdom-Australia score(CANUKA),Child-Turcotte-Pugh score(CTP),model for endstage liver disease(MELD)and MELD-Na were calculated.The overall performance of these prognostic scoring systems was evaluated.RESULTS A total of 330 cirrhotic patients with variceal bleeding were enrolled;the rates of in-hospital rebleeding and mortality were 20.3%and 10.6%,respectively.For inhospital rebleeding,the discriminative ability of the CTP and CRS were clinically acceptable,with area under the receiver operating characteristic curves(AUROCs)of 0.717(0.648-0.787)and 0.716(0.638-0.793),respectively.The other tested scoring systems had poor discriminative ability(AUROCs<0.7).For inhospital mortality,the CRS,CTP,AIMS65,MELD-Na and MELD showed excellent discriminative ability(AUROCs>0.8).The AUROCs of the mGBS,CANUKA and GBS were relatively small,but clinically acceptable(AUROCs>0.7).Furthermore,the calibration of all scoring systems was good for either inhospital rebleeding or death.CONCLUSION For cirrhotic patients with variceal bleeding,in-hospital rebleeding and mortality rates remain high.The CTP and CRS can be used clinically to predict in-hospital rebleeding.The performances of the CRS,CTP,AIMS65,MELD-Na and MELD are excellent at predicting in-hospital mortality.Xin-Xing Tantai Na Liu Long-Bao Yang Zhong-Cao Wei Cai-Lan Xiao Ya-Hua Song Jin-Hai Wang 2019World Journal of Gastroenterology2019,25,45:19
7Role of penehyclidine in acute organophosphorus pesticide poisoning显示文摘BACKGROUND:Penehyclidine is a newly developed anticholinergic agent.We aimed to investigate the role of penehyclidine in acute organophosphorus pesticide poisoning(OP)patients.METHODS:We searched the Pubmed,Cochrane library,EMBASE,Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Chinese Biomedical literature(CBM)and Wanfang databases.Randomized controlled trials(RCTs)recruiting acute OP patients were identifi ed for meta-analysis.Main outcomes included cure rate,mortality rate,time to atropinization,time to 60%normal acetylcholinesterase(AchE)level,rate of intermediate syndrome(IMS)and rate of adverse drug reactions(ADR).RESULTS:Sixteen RCTs involving 1,334 patients were identifi ed.Compared with the atropineor penehyclidine-alone groups,atropine combined with penehyclidine significantly increased the cure rate(penehyclidine+atropine vs.atropine,0.97 vs.0.86,RR 1.13,95%CI[1.07–1.19];penehyclidine+atropine vs.penehyclidine,0.93 vs.0.80,RR 1.08,95%CI[1.01–1.15])and reduced the mortality rate(penehyclidine+atropine vs.atropine,0.015 vs.0.11,RR 0.17,95%CI[0.06–0.49];penehyclidine+atropine vs.penehyclidine,0.13 vs.0.08,RR 0.23,95%CI[0.04–1.28]).Atropine combined with penehyclidine in OP patients also helped reduce the time to atropinization and AchE recovery,the rate of IMS and the rate of ADR.Compared with a single dose of atropine,a single dose of penehyclidine also signifi cantly elevated the cure rate,reduced times to atropinization,AchE recovery,and rate of IMS.CONCLUSION:Atropine combined with penehyclidine benefi ts OP patients by enhancing the cure rate,mortality rate,time to atropinization,AchE recovery,IMS rate,total ADR and duration of hospitalization.Penehyclidine combined with atropine is likely a better initial therapy for OP patients than atropine alone.Shi-yuan Yu Yan-xia Gao Joseph Walline Xin Lu Li-na Zhao Yuan-xu Huang Jiang Tao An-yong Yu Na Ta Ren-ju Xiao Yi Li 2020World Journal of Emergency Medicine2020,11,1:18
8Type I IFN augments IL-27-dependent TRIM25 expression to inhibit HBV replication显示文摘Hepatitis B virus(HBV)can cause chronic hepatitis B,which may lead to cirrhosis and liver cancer.Type I interferon(IFN)is an approved drug for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B.However,the fundamental mechanisms of antiviral action by type I IFN and the downstream signaling pathway are unclear.TRIM25 is an IFN-stimulated gene(ISG)that has an important role in RIG-I ubiquitination and activation.Whether TRIM25 is induced in liver cells by type I IFN to mediate anti-HBV function remains unclear.Here we report that interleukin-27(IL-27)has a critical role in IFN-induced TRIM25 upregulation.TRIM25 induction requires both STAT1 and STAT3.In TRIM25 knockout HepG2 cells,type I IFN production was consistently attenuated and HBV replication was increased,whereas overexpression of TRIM25 in HepG2 cells resulted in elevated IFN production and reduced HBV replication.More interestingly,we found that TRIM25 expression was downregulated in HBV patients and the addition of serum samples from HBV patients could inhibit TRIM25 expression in HepG2 cells,suggesting that HBV might have involved a mechanism to inhibit antiviral ISG expression and induce IFN resistance.Collectively,our results demonstrate that type I IFN-induced TRIM25 is an important factor in inhibiting HBV replication,and the IFN-IL-27-TRIM25 axis may represent a new target for treating HBV infection.Guangyun Tan Qingfei Xiao Hongxiao Song Feng Ma Fengchao Xu Di Peng Na Li Xiaosong Wang Junqi Niu Pujun Gao F Xiao-Feng Qin Genhong Cheng 2018Cellular & Molecular Immunology2018,15,3:13

10Urban expansion in China and its effect on cultivated land before and after initiating'Reform and Open Policy'显示文摘Urbanization in China has expanded at an unprecedented speed since the declaration of 'Reform and Open Policy'and presented many challenges. Unbalanced regional development, appearance of super megacities and concomitant problems,and conflicts between urbanization and cultivated land protection are three critical problems that Chinese urbanization has to face. To develop new plans for foreseeable future urbanization in China, it is critical to understand the evolving history of cities across China. This study maps urban expansion of 60 typical Chinese cities based on large amount of remote sensing data and the labor-intensive image interpretation method, in order to understand the history of urban expansion from the 1970 s to 2013.Results showed that area of cities expanded 5.23 times compared to their area in the 1970 s. Urban expansion in China accelerated three times(1988–1996, 1999–2006, and 2009–2011) and decelerated three times(1997–1998, 2007–2008, and 2012–2013) over the 40 years. The urban area of South China expanded most significantly 9.42 times, while the urban area in Northeast China expanded only 2.37 times. The disparity among different administrative ranks of cities was even greater than(3.81 times) the differences among different regions. Super megacities have been continuously expanding at a fast rate(8.60-fold), and have not shown obvious signs of slowing down. The proportion of cultivated land among the land sources for urban expansion decreased to a small extent in the 1990 s, but cultivated land continues to be the major land source for urban expansion. 11Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. 12S100A4 siRNA Inhibits Human Pancreatic Cancer Cell Invasion In Vitro显示文摘Objective Pancreatic cancer is one of the most deadly cancers,which is characterized by its high metastatic potential.S100A4 is a major prometastatic protein involved in tumor invasion and metastasis which precise role in pancreatic cancer has not been fully investigated.We knocked down the S100A4 gene in the Bxpc-3 pancreatic cancer cell line via RNA interference to study the changes in cell behavior.Methods Real-time polymerase chain reaction and western blotting were used to detect mRNA and protein expression levels of S100A4,matrix metalloproteinase(MMP)-2,E-cadherin and thrombospondin(TSP)-1.Transwell chambers were used to detect the migration and invasion abilities;a cell adhesion assay was used to detect adhesion ability;colony forming efficiency was used to detect cell proliferation;flow cytometry was used to detect apoptosis.Results S100A4 mRNA expression was reduced to 17% after transfection with S100A4-siRNA,and protein expression had a similar trend.mRNA and protein expression of MMP-2 was reduced and that of E-cadherin and TSP-1 was elevated,indicating that S100A4 affects their expression.S100A4-silenced cells exhibited a marked decrease in migration and invasiveness and increased adhesion,whereas overall proliferation and apoptosis were not overtly altered.Conclusion S100A4 and its downstream factors play important roles in pancreatic cancer invasion,and silencing A100A4 can significantly contain the invasiveness of pancreatic cancer.LI Na SONG Mao Min CHEN Xiao Hua LIU Li Hui LI Feng Sheng 2012Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,4:11

14Comparative analysis of robotic vs laparoscopic radical hysterectomy for cervical cancer显示文摘BACKGROUND Cervical cancer is the most common gynecological malignancy,ranking first in female reproductive malignancies with more than 500000 new cases and 275000 deaths each year.Traditionally,open radical hysterectomy is considered the standard surgical procedure for the treatment of resectable cervical cancer.The latest guidelines from the National Comprehensive Cancer Network and the European Society of Gynecological Oncology suggest that open surgery and laparoscopic surgery(using traditional laparoscopic or robotic techniques)are the main surgical approaches for radical hysterectomy for patients with stage IA2-IIA cervical cancer.Robotic surgery has been increasingly used in abdominal surgery and has shown more beneficial effects.AIM To analyse the perioperative conditions,complications,and short-term and longterm effects in patients undergoing robotic radical hysterectomy(RRH)and laparoscopic radical hysterectomy(LRH)to compare their clinical efficacy,safety,and feasibility.METHODS The perioperative data of patients undergoing RRH and LRH were extracted and collected from the database of surgical treatments for cervical cancer for statistical analysis.RESULTS Of the patients,342 underwent LRH for cervical cancer,and 216 underwent RRH.The total complication rate was 9.65%(20 patients)in the RRH group and 17.59%(60 patients)in the LRH group.The complication rate was significantly lower in the RRH group than in the LRH group.There was no significant difference in the follow-up period(P=0.658).The total recurrence rates were 15.7%and 12%in the RRH and LRH groups,respectively.The progression-free survival time was 28.91±15.68 mo and 28.34±15.13 mo in the RRH and LRH groups,respectively(P=0.669).The overall survival(OS)rates were 92.13%and 94.45%in the RRH and LRH groups,respectively(P=0.292).The OS time was 29.87±15.92 mo and 29.41±15.14 mo in the RRH and LRH groups,respectively(P=0.732).The survival curves and the progression-free survival curves were not statistically significantly different between the two groups(P=0.407 and 0.28,respectively).CONCLUSION RRH is associated with significantly less operative time and blood loss than LRH.The two procedures have similar complication rates,OS,and progression-free survival time.Li Chen Li-Ping Liu Na Wen Xiao Qiao Yuan-Guang Meng 2019World Journal of Clinical Cases2019,7,20:9
15Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) analysis of reinitiation into methamphetamine abusers: qualitative findings from an exploration of methamphetamine abusers in Shanghai, China显示文摘Background Despite high relapse rate among methamphetamine (MA) abusers, there still have been little empirical data to date detecting the risk factors related to craving and relapse from the perspective of MA abusers. Therefore, the aim of this study was to use qualitative research methods exploring the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threat factors that could facilitate or impede individuals' abstinence in a real-life context from the perspectives of MA abusers. Aim To use qualitative research methods exploring the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threat factors relating to individuals' abstinence in a real-life context. Method Semistructured interviews were conducted with 32 MA abusers recruited in Shanghai guided by open-ended questions on narrating the real-life catalysts and inhibitors related to craving, initiation, relapse and abstinence. All data were transcribed verbatim and analysed using a strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) analysis. Results The results of the SWOT analysis revealed that contextual factors including peer influence, prevalence and availability of MA, familiar venue of MA use, discrimination, sexual behaviours, alcohol, emotional states and their attitudes towards smoking MA were important factors that contribute to reinitiation and relapse. Surveillance systems, antidrug social workers, vocational skills trainings, moving to another city and family responsibility might serve as counter measures targeti叩 those mentioned weaknesses and threats above. Conclusion This SWOT analysis highlights the complex nature of relapse. 16Pathophysiological mechanisms and therapeutic approaches in obstructive sleep apnea syndrome显示文摘Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome(OSAS)is a common breathing disorder in sleep in which the airways narrow or collapse during sleep,causing obstructive sleep apnea.The prevalence of OSAS continues to rise worldwide,particularly in middle-aged and elderly individuals.The mechanism of upper airway collapse is incompletely understood but is associated with several factors,including obesity,craniofacial changes,altered muscle function in the upper airway,pharyngeal neuropathy,and fluid shifts to the neck.The main characteristics of OSAS are recurrent pauses in respiration,which lead to intermittent hypoxia(IH)and hypercapnia,accompanied by blood oxygen desaturation and arousal during sleep,which sharply increases the risk of several diseases.This paper first briefly describes the epidemiology,incidence,and pathophysiological mechanisms of OSAS.Next,the alterations in relevant signaling pathways induced by IH are systematically reviewed and discussed.For example,IH can induce gut microbiota(GM)dysbiosis,impair the intestinal barrier,and alter intestinal metabolites.These mechanisms ultimately lead to secondary oxidative stress,systemic inflammation,and sympathetic activation.We then summarize the effects of IH on disease pathogenesis,including cardiocerebrovascular disorders,neurological disorders,metabolic diseases,cancer,reproductive disorders,and COVID-19.Finally,different therapeutic strategies for OSAS caused by different causes are proposed.Multidisciplinary approaches and shared decision-making are necessary for the successful treatment of OSAS in the future,but more randomized controlled trials are needed for further evaluation to define what treatments are best for specific OSAS patients.Renjun Lv Xueying Liu Yue Zhang Na Dong Xiao Wang Yao He Hongmei Yue Qingqing Yin 2023Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,6:8
17Repeatability and Reproducibility of Quantitative Assessment of the Retinal Microvasculature Using Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography Based on Optical Microangiography显示文摘Objective The aim of this study was to determine the repeatability and reproducibility of optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA) based on optical microangiography(OMAG) measurements of macular vessels in normal eyes. Methods In this prospective cohort study, 40 eyes of 40 healthy volunteers underwent repeated OCTA(Cirrus HD-OCT 5000 angiography system, Carl Zeiss Meditec, Inc.) scans on two separate visit days. On each visit day, the eyes were scanned three times. The following parameters were used to quantitatively describe the OCTA images of the superficial vascular network: vessel area density(VAD), vessel skeleton density(VSD), vessel diameter index(VDI), vessel perimeter index(VPI), vessel complexity index(VCI), flux, and foveal avascular zone(FAZ). Coefficient of variation(CV) and intraclass correlation coefficient(ICC) were calculated for evaluating intravisit and intervisit repeatability, as well as interobserver reproducibility. Results The measurements showed high repeatability [CVs ≤ 4.2%(intravisit) and ≤ 4.6%(intervisit)] and interobserver reproducibility(ICCs ≥ 0.923) for all parameters. 18Relationship between Maternal PBMC HBV cccDNA and HBV Serological Markers and its Effect on HBV Intrauterine Transmission显示文摘Objective To investigate the relationship between maternal peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) hepatitis B virus(HBV) covalenty closed circular deoxyribonucleic acid(cccDNA) and other HBV serological markers and its effects on HBV intrauterine transmission. Methods We enrolled 290 newborns and their hepatitis B surface antigen(HBsAg) positive mothers. HBV cccDNA in PBMC and HBV DNA in serum were detected by a real‐time PCR‐TaqM an probe while HBV serological markers were detected with an electrochemiluminescence immunoassay. Results There was a positive correlation between the levels of PBMC HBV cccD NA and serum HBV DNA and HBeA g(r = 0.436 and 0.403, P < 0.001). The detection rate of pattern A [‘HBsA g(+), HBeA g(+), and anti‐HBc(+)’] was significantly higher in the PBMC HBV cccD NA positive group than in the control group(χ^2 = 48.48, P < 0.001). There was a significant association between HBV intrauterine transmission and PBMC HBV cccD NA(χ^2 = 9.28, P = 0.002). In the presence of serum HBV DNA, HBeA g, and PBMC HBV cccD NA, the risk of HBV intrauterine transmission was three times higher(OR = 3.69, 95% CI: 1.30‐10.42) than that observed in their absence. The risk of HBV intrauterine transmission was the greatest(OR = 5.89, 95% CI: 2.35‐14.72) when both PBMC HBV cccD NA and pattern A were present. A Bayesian network model showed that maternal PBMC HBV cccD NA was directly related to HBV intrauterine transmission. Conclusion PBMC HBV cccDNA may be a direct risk factor for HBV intrauterine transmission. 19Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear.Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks.Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome. 20Removal of antimonite and antimonate from water using Fe-based metal-organic frameworks: The relationship between framework structure and adsorption performance显示文摘We investigated the adsorption performance of five Fe-based MOFs(Fe-BTC,MIL-100(Fe),MIL-101(Fe),MIL-53(Fe)and MIL-88 C(Fe))for removal of antimonite(Sb(Ⅲ))and antimonate(Sb(Ⅴ))from water.Among these MOFs,MIL-101(Fe)exhibited the best adsorption capacities for both Sb(Ⅲ)and Sb(Ⅴ)(151.8 and 472.8 mg/g,respectively)which were higher than those of most adsorbents previously reported.The effect of steric hindrance was evident during Sb removal using the Fe-based MOFs,and the proper diameter of the smallest cage windows/channels should be considered an important parameter during the evaluation and selection of MOFs.Additionally,the adsorption capacities of MIL-101(Fe)for Sb(Ⅴ)decreased with increasing initial p H values(from 3.0 to 8.0),while the opposite trend was observed for Sb(Ⅲ).Chloride,nitrate and sulfate ions had a negligible influence on Sb(Ⅴ)adsorption,while NO3-and SO42-improved Sb(Ⅲ)adsorption.This result implies that inner sphere complexes might form during both Sb(Ⅲ)and Sb(Ⅴ)adsorption.Wei Zhang Na Li Ting Xiao Wenting Tang Guangli Xiu 2019Journal of Environmental Sciences2019,31,12:7
