1Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging for focal liver lesions in Chinese patients:a multicenter,open-label,phase Ⅲ study显示文摘BACKGROUND:Contrast agents help to improve visibility in magnetic resonance(MR)imaging.However,owing to the large interstitial spaces of the liver,there is a reduction in the natural contrast gradient between lesions and healthy tissue.This study was undertaken to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the liverspecific MR imaging contrast agent gadoxetate disodium(GdEOB-DTPA)in Chinese patients.METHODS:This was a single-arm,open-label,multicenter study in patients with known or suspected focal liver lesions referred for contrast-enhanced MR imaging.MR imaging was performed in 234 patients before and after a single intravenous bolus of Gd-EOB-DTPA(0.025 mmol/kg body weight).Images were evaluated by clinical study investigators and three independent,blinded radiologists.The primary efficacy endpoint was sensitivity in lesion detection.RESULTS:Gd-EOB-DTPA improved sensitivity in lesion detection by 9.46%compared with pre-contrast imaging for the average of the three blinded readers(94.78%vs 85.32%for Gd-EOB-DTPA vs pre-contrast,respectively).Improvements in detection were more pronounced in lesions less than 1cm.Gd-EOB-DTPA improved diagnostic accuracy in lesion classification.CONCLUSIONS:This open-label study demonstrated that Gd-EOB-DTPA improves diagnostic sensitivity in liver lesions,particularly in those smaller than 1 cm.Gd-EOB-DTPA also significantly improves the diagnostic accuracy in lesion classification,and furthermore,Gd-EOB-DTPA is safe in Chinese patients with liver lesions.Meng-Su Zeng Hui-Yi Ye Liang Guo Wei-Jun Peng Jian-Ping Lu Gao-Jun Teng Josy Breuer Yi Huan Ping Li Jian-Rong Xu Chang-Hong Liang 2013Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2013,12,6:31

4Clinical outcomes of small incision lenticule extraction versus femtosecond laser-assisted LASIK for myopia: a Meta-analysis显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the possible differences in visual quality between small incision lenticule extraction(SMILE) and femtosecond laser in situ keratomileusis(FS-LASIK) for myopia.METHODS: A Meta-analysis was performed. Patients were from previously reported comparative studies treated with SMILE versus FS-LASIK. The Pub Med, EMBASE, Cochrane, Web of Science and Chinese databases(i.e. WANFANG and CNKI) were searched in Nov. of 2016 using Rev Man 5.1 version software. The differences in visual acuity, aberration and biomechanical effects within six months postoperatively were showed. Twenty-seven studies including 4223 eyes were included. RESULTS: No significant differences were observed between SMILE and FS-LASIK in terms of the proportion of eyes that lost one or more lines of corrected distance visual acuity after surgery(P=0.14), the proportion of eyes achieving an uncorrected distance visual acuity of 20/20 or better(P=0.43), the final refractive spherical equivalent(P=0.89), the refractive spherical equivalent within ±1.00 diopter of the target values(P=0.80), vertical coma(P=0.45) and horizontal coma(P=0.06). Compared with the FSLASIK group, total higher-order aberration(P<0.001) and spherical aberration(P<0.001) were higher and the decrease in corneal hysteresis(P=0.0005) and corneal resistance factor(P=0.02) were lower in the SMILE group. CONCLUSION: SMILE and FS-LASIK are comparable in efficacy, safety and predictability for correcting myopia.However, the aberration in the SMILE group is superior to that in the FS-LASIK group, and the loss of biomechanical effects may occur less frequently after SMILE than after FS-LASIK.Huan Yan Li-Yan Gong Wei Huang Yan-Li Peng 2017International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2017,10,9:12
5High quality reference genome of drumstick tree(Moringa oleifera Lam.), a potential perennial crop显示文摘The drumstick tree(Moringa oleifera Lam.) is a perennial crop that has gained popularity in certain developing countries for its high-nutrition content and adaptability to arid and semi-arid environments. Here we report a high-quality draft genome sequence of M. oleifera. This assembly represents 91.78% of the estimated genome size and contains 19,465 protein-coding genes. Comparative genomic analysis between M. oleifera and related woody plant genomes helps clarify the general evolution of this species, while the identification of several species-specific gene families and positively selected genes in M. oleifera may help identify genes related to M. oleifera's high protein content, fast-growth, heat and stress tolerance. 6GW5-Like, a homolog of GW5, negatively regulates grain width, weight and salt resistance in rice显示文摘Grain size is an important determinant of yield potential in crops. We previously demonstrated that natural mutations in the regulatory sequences of qSW5/GW5 confer grain width diversity in rice. However, the biological function of a GW5 homolog, named GW5-Like(GW5 L), remains unknown. In this study, we report on GW5 L knockout mutants in Kitaake, a japonica cultivar(cv.)considered to have a weak gw5 variant allele that confers shorter and wider grains. GW5 L is evenly expressed in various tissues, and its protein product is localized to the plasma membrane. Biochemical assays verified that GW5 L functions in a similar fashion to GW5. It positively regulates brassinosteroid(BR) signaling through repression of the phosphorylation activity of GSK2. Genetic data show that GW5 L overexpression in either Kitaake or a GW5 knockout line, Kasaorf3(indica cv. Kasalath background), causes more slender, longer grains relative to the wild-type. We also show that GW5 L could confer salt stress resistance through an association with calmodulin protein OsCa M1-1. 8How does Helicobacter pylori cause gastric cancer through connexins: An opinion review显示文摘Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a Gram-negative bacterium with a number of virulence factors, such as cytotoxin-associated gene A, vacuolating cytotoxin A, its pathogenicity island, and lipopolysaccharide, which cause gastrointestinal diseases. Connexins function in gap junctional homeostasis, and their downregulation is closely related to gastric carcinogenesis. Investigations into H. pylori infection and the fine-tuning of connexins in cells or tissues have been reported in previous studies. 10Preparation and Characterization of Flame Retardant and Low Smoke Releasing Oil-resistant EVA/NBR Blends显示文摘Nano-Si O2 and/or Mo O3 were introduced to ethylene-vinyl acetate/nitrile butadiene rubber(EVA/NBR) blends containing magnesium hydroxide(MH) and red phosphorus(RP) to further improve the mechanical properties, oil resistance, smoke suppression and flame retardancy. The results indicated that the tensile strength and oil resistance were significantly improved by incorporating nano-Si O2. Smoke suppression tests for EVA/NBR blend samples showed that both nano-Si O2 and Mo O3 can significantly reduce smoke release amount. The flammability characterization indicated that the blended sample with an LOI value of 33.0 could achieve V-0 level in the UL-94 test. Cone calorimetry test data showed the peak heat release rate was 67% lower than that for pure EVA/NBR. Thermal analysis showed that the presence of both nano-Si O2 and Mo O3 was beneficial to promoting char formation of the EVA/NBR blends. 11Magnetic nanoparticles based cancer therapy: current status and applications显示文摘Nanotechnology holds a promising potential for developing biomedical nanoplatforms in cancer therapy. The magnetic nanoparticles, which integrate uniquely appealing features of magnetic manipulation, nanoscale heat generator, localized magnetic field and enzyme-mimics, prompt the development and application of magnetic nanoparticles-based cancer medicine. Considerable success has been achieved in improving the magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) sensitivity, and the therapeutic function of the magnetic nanoparticles should be given adequate attention. This work reviews the current status and applications of magnetic nanoparticles based cancer therapy. 12Polymorphisms of three gene-derived STS on pig chromosome 13q41 are associated with susceptibility to enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli F4ab/ac in pigs显示文摘Neonatal diarrhea caused by enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli(ETEC)F4 is a common and serious disease,resulting in significant economical loss in the pig industry.The locus encoding ETEC F4 receptor has been mapped to pig chromosome(SSC)13q41,and one of the most significantly linked markers is S0075.In this study,we selected three genes including SLC12A8,MYLK and KPNA1 from a chromosomal region flanking S0075 on SSC13 to develop pig specific sequence tagged sites(STS). Seven single nucleotide polymorphisms were identified in the three pig STS using DNA of four full-sib susceptible and resistant animals in a White Duroc×Erhualian intercross.All grandparents,parents and 755 offspring in the intercross were genotyped for three polymorphisms,including SLC12A8 g.159A>G,MYLK g.1673A>G and KPNA1 g.306A>G.Family-based transmission disequilibrium test(TDT) revealed that all polymorphisms and the corresponding haplotypes are significantly associated with ETEC F4ab/ac(especially F4ac)brush border adhesion phenotypes,indicating that these polymor- phism are in linkage disequlibrium with causal mutation(s)of the gene encoding ETEC F4ab/ac receptor. 13Interaction effect of nitrogen form and planting density on plant growth and nutrient uptake in maize seedlings显示文摘High planting density is essential to increasing maize grain yield.However,single plants suffer from insufficient light under high planting density.Ammonium(NH_4^+)assimilation consumes less energy converted from radiation than nitrateIt is hypothesized that a mixed NO_3~–/NH_4^+supply is more important to improving plant growth and population productivity under high vs.low planting density.Maize plants were grown under hydroponic conditions at two planting densities(low density:only).A significant interaction effect was found between planting density and N form on plant biomass.Compared to nitrate only,75/25NO_3~–/NH_4^+increased per-plant biomass by 44%under low density,but by 81%under high density.Treatment with 75/25NO_3~–/NH_4^+increased plant ATP,photosynthetic rate,and carbon amount per plant by 31,7,and 44%under low density,respectively,but by 51,23,and 95%under high density.Accordingly,carbon level per plant under 75/25NO_3~–/NH_4^+was improved,which increased leaf area,specific leaf weight and total root length,especially for high planting density,increased by 57,17 and 63%,respectively.Furthermore,under low density,75/25NO_3~–/NH_4^+increased nitrogen uptake rate,while under high density,75/25NO_3~–/NH_4^+increased nitrogen,phosphorus,copper and iron uptake rates.By increasing energy use efficiency,an optimum NO_3~–/NH_4^+ratio can improve plant growth and nutrient uptake efficiency,especially under high planting density.In summary,an appropriate supply of NH_4^+in addition to nitrate can greatly improve plant growth and promote population productivity of maize under high planting density,and therefore a mixed N form is recommended for high-yielding maize management in the field.WANG Peng WANG Zhang-kui SUN Xi-chao MU Xiao-huan CHEN Huan CHEN Fan-jun Yuan Li-xing MI Guo-hua 2019Journal of Integrative Agriculture2019,18,5:8
14A new pathotype characterization of Daxing and Huangyuan populations of cereal cyst nematode(Heterodera avenae) in China显示文摘The cereal cyst nematode(CCN, Heteroder aavenae) causes serious yield loss on cereal crops, especially wheat, worldwide. Daxing population in Beijing City and Huangyuan population in Qinghai Province, China, are two CCN populations. In this study, the CCN pathotypes of Daxing and Huangyuan populations were characterized by tests on 23 standard 'International Test Assortment' with the local species Wenmai 19 as the susceptible control. Tested materials were grouped by three nematode populations' virulence on resistant genes(Rha1, Rha2, Rha3, Cre1) and nonresistant genes, varieties and lines. Both Daxing and Huangyuan populations were avirulent to Ortolan(Ha1). Barley cvs. Ortolan, Siri, Morocco, Bajo Aragon 1-1, and Martin 403-2 were all resistant to both populations. Cultivars Herta, Harlan 43 and wheat Iskamish-K-2-light were all susceptible to Huangyuan population, all of them, however, were resistant to Daxing population. The other five oats were all resistant to the two tested CCN populations. Except Iskamisch K-2-light, all the other wheat cultivars(Capa, Loros×Koga, AUS 10894, and Psathias) were susceptible to Daxing population. 15Mesozoic basins and associated palaeogeographic evolution in North China显示文摘In North China, the Mesozoic terrestrial basins, sedimentary palaeogeography and tectonic settings involved five evolutionary stages:(1) the Early-Middle Triassic,(2) the Late Triassic to Early-Middle Jurassic,(3) the Late Jurassic to early Early Cretaceous,(4) the middle-late Early Cretaceous and(5) the Late Cretaceous. The regional punctuated tectonic events occurred during these evolutionary stages. During the Early-Middle Triassic(stage 1), the Xingmeng Orogenic Belt(XMOB, i.e., eastern part of Central Asia Orogenic Belt, CAOB) of the northern North China was settled in the transition of tectonic environment from syn-orogenic compression to post-orogenic extension with intensive uplifting. It is a main provenance in the unified Ordos-North China Basin.The united continental plate of China and the Qinling-Dabie-Sulu Orogenic Belt formed due to convergence and collision between the North China Plate and the Yangtze Plate along two suture zones of the Mianlue and the Shangdan in the terminal Middle Triassic. During the Late Triassic to the Early-Middle Jurassic(stage 2), the Late Triassic mafic or alkaline rocks and intrusions occurred on the northern and southern margins of North China Craton(NCC) and XMOB, implying that intensified extension happened all over the North China(early phase of stage 2). Additionally, in the late phase of stage 2, the basic volcanicfilling faulted basins were widely distributed in the northeastern North China during the EarlyMiddle Jurassic, including a series of small- to medium-sized basins with coal-bearing strata and some volcanic rocks in other areas of North China, which was the result of subduction of the Palaeo-Pacific Plate during the Early-Middle Jurassic. An active continental margin with accretionary complex developed in the eastern Heilongjiang of China, Japan and the Far East of Russia at that time. However, in the end of the Early-Middle Jurassic, because of the Yanshanian orogeny characterized by complicated thrust and fold, the previous unified OrdosNorth China Basin was separated by the northeast-oriented Great Xing'an Range and Taihang Mountain uplifted linearment. The differential evolution of basins and sedimentary palaeogeography between eastern and western North China was initiated, and was interpreted to result in the closure of Okhotsk Ocean and the subduction of Palaeo-Pacific Plate(late stage 2). During the Late Jurassic(the early phase of stage 3), a variety of faulted basins occurred in the Yanshan and Yinshan areas in the northeastern North China. In Yanshan area, basins were filled with thickened intermediate volcanic rocks and purple-red coarse-grained clastic rocks. In contrast, only thick layered sedimentary rocks with rare volcanic rocks developed in the Yinshan faulted basins, the Ordos Basin and basins in sourthern North China. XMOB wasthe main provenance of the Early Mesozoic basins in the North China, while the Ordos Basin and the Hefei Basin were partly supplied by the northern Qinling Orogenic Belt. During the Late Jurassic-early Early Cretaceous(the late phase of stage 3), the northern and northeastern North China experienced extensional movement after the subduction of the Palaeo-Pacific Plate, the closure of the Mongolia-Okhotsk Ocean and the subsequent Yanshanian orogeny. At the same time, a NE-oriented, giant rift basin system(NE Asia Rift) extended from the Yanshan to the western Great Xing'an Range, where rift basins were filled with the regional, NE-oriented, thick coarse-grained clastic rocks and a belt of volcanic rocks. In the meantime, the eastern and northeastern China and most areas of NCC were presented as highland terrains. During the middle-late Early Cretaceous(stage 4), rift basins developed and accumulated alluvial sediments and interbedded alkaline volcanic rocks in the western and northern North China, including Yingen, Ejinaqi and Erlian regions. Basins were formed on both sides of the Tan-Lu Fault Zone under a striking-slipping force. Furthermore, faulted basins developed in the Yishu Fault Zone of Shandong(central Tan-Lu Fault Zone) as well, where dinosaur fauna flourished. Basic volcanic rocks and fluvial-lacustrine sediments were deposited in small- or medium-sized rift basins in the northeastern China. The Songliao Basin was a typical giant basin that was mainly filled with late Early Cretaceous lacustrine sediments. A group of rift basins occurred in the Sanjiang area, central Heilongjiang Province, northeastern China. From the middle-late Early Cretaceous to the Late Cretaceous(stage 5), depositional and subsiding center of the basins constantly shifted southeastwards in Heilongjiang Province. The tectonic setting changed into the Palaeo-Pacific continental margin in north and northeastern China. Besides, during the Late Mesozoic, a huge terrestrial biota, mainly dinosaur fauna, dominated in North China. The Yanliao biota of the Middle-Late Jurassic and the Jehol biota of the Early Cretaceous are characterized by feathered dinosaurs, primitive birds, mammals, pterosaur, insects and plants(angiosperms). 18Effect of miniscalpel-needle on relieving the pain of myofascial pain syndrome: a systematic review显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect and safety of miniscalpel-needle(MSN) on reducing the pain of myofascial pain syndrome(MPS).METHODS: We reviewed the available literatures inception up to February 2014 using Pubmed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure Database, Chinese Biomedical Database and Wanfang Database.RESULTS: Eight randomized controlled trials were finally identified. The main controls involved acupuncture, medications, injection, massage and cupping. We found that all of the studies agreed on the potential benefit of MSN as a strategy for MPS and the superiority compared to the controls, however,randomized methods applied in most of the trials could be criticized for their high or unclear risk of bias. Further research is also needed to clarify questions around the appropriate frequency and number of treatment sessions of MSN.CONCLUSION: This review shows that MSN might have the effect on MPS, even though there were some limitations in the studies included in the review. 20Thermodynamic modeling and phase diagram prediction of salt lake brine systemsⅡ.Aqueous Li^(+)-Na^(+)-K^(+)-SO_(4)^(2-) and its subsystems显示文摘It is still a challenging task to accurately and temperature-continuously express the thermodynamic properties and phase equilibrium behaviors of the salt-lake brine with multi-component,multitemperature and high concentration.The essential subsystem of sulfate type brine,aqueous Li^(+)-Na^(+)-K^(+)-SO_(4)^(2-) and its subsystems across a temperature range from 250 K to 643 K are investigated with the improved comprehensive thermodynamic model.Liquid parameters(Δg_(IJ),Δh_(IJ),and ΔC_(p,IJ))associated with the contributions of Gibbs energy,enthalpy,and heat capacity to the binary interaction parameters,i.e.the temperature coefficients of eNRTL parameters formulated with a Gibbs Helmholtz expression,are determined via multi-objective optimization method.The solid constantsΔ_(f)G_(k)°^((298.15))andΔ_(f)H_(k)°^((298.15))of11 solid species occurred in the quaternary system are rebuilt from multi-temperature solubilities.The modeling results show the accurate representation of(1)solution properties and binary phase diagram at temperature ranges from eutectic points to 643 K;(2)isothermal phase diagrams for Li_(2)SO_(4)-Na_(2)SO_(4)-H_(2)O,Li_(2)SO_(4)-K_(2)SO_(4)-H_(2)O and Na_(2)SO_(4)-K_(2)SO_(4)-H_(2)O ternary systems.The predicted results of complete structure and polythermal phase diagram of ternary systems and the isothermal phase diagrams of quaternary system excellently match with the experimental data.Huan Zhou Peng Wu Wenxuan Li Xingfan Wang Kuo Zhou Qing Hao 2021Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,6:6
