| 1 | Terrestrial carbon sinks in China and around the world and their contribution to carbon neutrality显示文摘Enhancing the terrestrial ecosystem carbon sink(referred to as terrestrial C sink) is an important way to slow down the continuous increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide(CO_(2)) concentration and to achieve carbon neutrality target.To better understand the characteristics of terrestrial C sinks and their contribution to carbon neutrality,this review summarizes major progress in terrestrial C budget researches during the past decades,clarifies spatial patterns and drivers of terrestrial C sources and sinks in China and around the world,and examines the role of terrestrial C sinks in achieving carbon neutrality target.According to recent studies,the global terrestrial C sink has been increasing from a source of (-0.2±0.9) Pg C yr^(-1)(1 Pg=1015g)in the 1960s to a sink of (1.9±1.1) Pg C yr^(-1) in the 2010s.By synthesizing the published data,we estimate terrestrial C sink of 0.20–0.25 Pg C yr^(-1) in China during the past decades,and predict it to be 0.15–0.52 Pg C yr^(-1) by 2060.The terrestrial C sinks are mainly located in the mid-and high latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere,while tropical regions act as a weak C sink or source.The C balance differs much among ecosystem types:forest is the major C sink;shrubland,wetland and farmland soil act as C sinks;and whether the grassland functions as C sink or source remains unclear.Desert might be a C sink,but the magnitude and the associated mechanisms are still controversial.Elevated atmospheric CO_(2) concentration,nitrogen deposition,climate change,and land cover change are the main drivers of terrestrial C sinks,while other factors such as fires and aerosols would also affect ecosystem C balance.The driving factors of terrestrial C sink differ among regions.Elevated CO_(2) concentration and climate change are major drivers of the C sinks in North America and Europe,while afforestation and ecological restoration are additionally important forcing factors of terrestrial C sinks in China.For future studies,we recommend the necessity for intensive and long-term ecosystem C monitoring over broad geographic scale to improve terrestrial biosphere models for accurately evaluating terrestrial C budget and its dynamics under various climate change and policy scenarios. | Yuanhe Yang Yue Shi Wenjuan Sun Jinfeng Chang Jianxiao Zhu Leiyi Chen Xin Wang Yanpei Guo Hongtu Zhang Lingfei Yu Shuqing Zhao Kang Xu Jiangling Zhu Haihua Shen Yuanyuan Wang Yunfeng Peng Xia Zhao Xiangping Wang Huifeng Hu Shiping Chen Mei Huang Xuefa Wen Shaopeng Wang Biao Zhu Shuli Niu Zhiyao Tang Lingli Liu Jingyun Fang | 2022 | Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,5: | 32 |
| 2 | Transportation characteristics of δ^(13)C in the plants-soil-bedrock-cave system in Chongqing karst area显示文摘Here we use an analytical method to determine δ13C in local plants and organic matter in the soils above Furong cave,Chongqing,China.We also monitored δ13C in dissolved inorganic carbon(DIC) of drip water,δ13C of active deposits under the drip waters,and the concentration of air CO2(PCO2).Based on these,we preliminarily studied the transportation characteristics of stable carbon isotope(13C) in cave system of the subtropical karst area.The average δ13C value of 27 local plant samples,which belong to 16 families,was -32‰ and the weighted δ13C for surface dry biomass was -33‰.We found that for 54 soil samples collected from 5 soil profiles,δ13C of soil organic matters was -22‰,which could be attributed to the different transportation rates of stable carbon isotopes during the decomposition of plants and organic matters in soils.The relatively lighter 12C tended to transfer into gaseous CO2,which made the relatively heavier 13C concentrated in the soils.On the basis of monitoring of DIC-δ13C in drip waters from July 2009 to June 2010,we found that values in winter months were heavier and values in summer months were lighter in general,the reason of which was that in summer months,both the temperature and the humidity were comparatively higher,resulted in more CO2 with lighter δ13C generated from organic matters decomposition and plants respiration.The average DIC -δ13C value was -11‰,about 11‰ heavier than the δ13C of organic matters in soils,which proved that part of DIC in cave drip water was sourced from dissolution of inorganic carbonate(host rock,with heavier δ13C).As for the δ13C of active deposits at five drip water sites in Furong cave,they had almost the same variation with relatively light values.In other words,these active speleothems were deposited at equilibrium conditions for isotopic fractionation.These results suggest that the carbon isotopic information of speleothems could be used to track the evolution of local vegetation in certain situations. | Li TingYong Li HongChun Xiang XiaoJing Kuo Tz-Shing Li JunYun Zhou FuLi Chen HongLi Peng LingLi | 2012 | Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,4: | 18 |
| 3 | Change in Ecosystem Service Value Arising from Land Consolidation Planning in Anhui Province显示文摘The evaluation of change in ecosystem service value arising from land consolidation planning is an important aspect of environmental impact assessment of land consolidation. By estimating the change in ecosystem service value before and after the implementation of land consolidation planning, it is able to quantitatively describe the change in ecosystem service value arising from land consolidation planning, so as to provide a quantitative basis for the environmental impact assessment of land consolidation. Taking the case of Anhui Province, the authors developed the equivalency factor table of ecosystem service value, to determine the economic value of single equivalency factor of ecological service value in the study area, calculate per unit area of ecological service value of land ecosystem in the study area, and research the change in ecosystem service value before and after the implementation of land consolidation planning in Anhui Province. | 5 | Targeting lactate dehydrogenase A (LDHA) exerts antileukemic effects on T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia显示文摘Background:T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia(T-ALL)is an uncommon and aggressive subtype of acute lymphoblastic leukemia(ALL).In the serum of T-ALL patients,the activity of lactate dehydrogenase A(LDHA)is increased.We proposed that targeting LDHA may be a potential strategy to improve T-ALL outcomes.The current study was conducted to investigate the antileukemic effect of LDHA gene-targeting treatment on T-ALL and the underlying molecular mechanism.Methods:Primary T-ALL cell lines Jurkat and DU528 were treated with the LDH inhibitor oxamate.MTT,colony formation,apoptosis,and cell cycle assays were performed to investigate the effects of oxamate on T-ALL cells.Quantitative real-time PCR(qPCR)and Western blotting analyses were applied to determine the related signaling pathways.A mitochondrial reactive oxygen species(ROS)assay was performed to evaluate ROS production after T-ALL cells were treated with oxamate.A T-ALL transgenic zebrafish model with LDHA gene knockdown was established using CRISPR/Cas9 gene-editing technology,and then TUNEL,Western blotting,and T-ALL tumor progression analyses were conducted to investigate the effects of LDHA gene knockdown on T-ALL transgenic zebrafish.Results:Oxamate significantly inhibited proliferation and induced apoptosis of Jurkat and DU528 cells.It also arrested Jurkat and DU528 cells in G0/G1 phase and stimulated ROS production(all P<0.001).Blocking LDHA significantly decreased the gene and protein expression of c-Myc,as well as the levels of phosphorylated serine/threonine kinase(AKT)and glycogen synthase kinase 3 beta(GSK-3β)in the phosphatidylinositol 3′-kinase(PI3K)signaling pathway.LDHA gene knockdown delayed disease progression and down-regulated c-Myc mRNA and protein expression in T-ALL transgenic zebrafish.Conclusion:Targeting LDHA exerted an antileukemic effect on T-ALL,representing a potential strategy for T-ALL treatment. | Haizhi Yu Yafei Yin Yifang Yi Zhao Cheng Wenyong Kuang Ruijuan Li Haiying Zhong Yajuan Cui Lingli Yuan Fanjie Gong Zhihua Wang Heng Li Hongling Peng Guangsen Zhang | 2020 | Cancer Communications2020,40,10: | 2 |

| 9 | Effects of exogenic chloride on oxidative degradation of chlorinated azo dye by UV-activated peroxodisulfate显示文摘Recently,the degradation of organic compounds in saline dye wastewater by sulfate radicals(SO4·-)-based advanced oxidation processes(AOPs) have attracted much attention.However,previous studies on these systems have selected non-chlorinated dyes as model compounds,and little is known about the transformation of chlorinated dyes in such systems.In this study,acid yellow 17(AY-17) was selected as a model of chlorinated contaminants,and the degradation kinetics and evolution of oxidation byproducts were investigated in the UV/PDS system.AY-17 can be efficiently degraded(over 98% decolorization)under 90 min irradiation at pH 2.0-3.0,and the reaction follows pseudo-first order kinetics.Cl-accelerated the degradation of AY-17,but simultaneously led to an undesirable increase of absorbable organic halogen(AOX).Several chlorinated byproducts were identified by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry(LC-MS/MS) in the UV/PDS system.It indicates that endogenic chlorine and exogenic Cl-reacted with SO_(4)·- to form chloride radicals,which are involved in the dechlorination and rechlorination of AY-17 and intermediates.The possible degradation mechanisms of AY-17 photooxidative degradation are proposed.This work provides valuable information for further studies on the role of exogenic chloride in the degradation of chlorinated azo dyes and the kinetic parameters in the PDS-based oxidation process. | Wenya Peng Yu Fu Lingli Wang Yifan Wang Yongxia Dong Ying Huang Zhaohui Wang | 2021 | Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,8: | 1 |
| 10 | Moving toward a new era of ecosystem science显示文摘Ecosystem is a fundamental organizational unit of the biosphere in which biological communities interact with their non-biological environment through energy flows and material cycles.Ecosystem science is the study of patterns,processes,and services of ecosystems.Since the 1990s,rising concerns regarding global climate change,biodiversity loss,ecosystem degradation,and sustainability of the human-dominated biosphere have stimulated the growth of ecosystem science,which is expected to provide systematic solutions to many of these major issues facing human societies.This paper provides a comprehensive review of the current progress in ecosystem science and identifies some key research challenges facing this discipline.We demonstrate that a key feature of the current progress in ecosystem science is its evolution from primarily theoretical explorations toward more systematic,integrative and application-oriented studies.Specifically,five major changes in the discipline over the past several decades can be identified.These include:(1)the expansion of the primary goal from understanding nature to include human activities;(2)the broadening of the research focus from single ecosystem types to macro-ecosystems comprising multiple regional ecosystems;(3)the shifting of research methods from small-scale observations and experiments to large-scale observations,network experiments,and model simulations;(4)the increasing attention to comprehensive integration of ecosystem components,processes,and scales;and(5)the shifting from a primarily biology-oriented focus to an integrated multi-disciplinary scientific field.While ecosystem science still faces many challenges in the future,these directional changes,along with the rapidly enriched research tools and data acquisition capabilities,lay a promising ground for the discipline’s future as a fundamental scientific basis for solving many environmental challenges facing human societies. | Guirui Yu Shilong Piao Yangjian Zhang Lingli Liu Jian Peng Shuli Niu | 2021 | Geography and Sustainability2021,2,3: | 1 |

| 13 | Intracellular pharmacokinetic study of zidovudine and its phosphorylated metabolites显示文摘Zidovudine(AZT), the first drug approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus(HIV) infection, is metabolized in the host cells to 5′-AZT triphosphate(AZT-TP) which inhibits HIV reverse transcriptase. As the pharmacokinetics of AZT and its phosphorylated metabolites in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells(h PBMCs) is limited, the aim of this study was to determine the pharmacokinetic parameters of AZT and its phosphorylated metabolites in h PBMCs from 12 healthy Chinese male subjects after a single oral dose of 600 mg of AZT. Blood samples were collected prior to drug administration, then at 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 h after drug administration. Mononuclear cells collected by Ficoll-Hypaque density gradient centrifugation were used for determination of AZT and metabolites [AZT monophosphate(AZT-MP), AZT diphosphate(AZT-DP) and AZT-TP] and the plasma was used to evaluate the pharmacokinetics of AZT. Plasma concentration of AZT peaked within 0.583 h and intracellular concentrations of AZT, AZT-MP, AZT-DP and AZT-TP peaked within 1.083, 1.500, 1.417 and 1.583 h, respectively. AZT in plasma was eliminated rapidly with t1/2of 2.022 h, and AZT-MP, AZT-DP and AZT-TP were eliminated with t1/2of 13.428,8.285 and 4.240 h, respectively. | 20 | Natural frequency for exponential shaped thermoacoustic resonator显示文摘The two-dimensional nonlinear acoustic field of eleven exponential shaped resonators was simulated with a computational fluid dynamics software Fluent.The influence of driving frequency and driving intensity on pressure in resonator as well as its natural frequency was investigated.The relationship between natural frequency and theoretical calculation resonance frequency was also explored.It is found that beating phenomena can be observed in the resonator when the driving frequency deviates from the natural frequency.Moreover,the natural frequency of resonator increases with the increasing of driving intensity,which shows a hard spring effect.However,the driving intensity plays little effect on natural frequency and the natural frequencies are smaller than the theoretical calculation values in any driving intensity.Meanwhile,a formula between the natural frequency and its first-order resonance frequency from theoretical calculation was obtained by linear fitting for all these exponential shaped resonators under consideration.It is also found that the highest pressure amplitude and highest pressure ratio can be obtained from the exponential shaped resonator of m=2.8 under the same driving intensity.Moreover,the relation between natural frequency and the theoretical resonance frequency for m=2.8-tube is slightly different from other tubes in consideration. | FENG Heying PENG Yehui JIANG Lingli LI Xuejun | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Acoustics2017,36,3: | 0 |
