1Liquid crystal integrated metalens with tunable chromatic aberration显示文摘Overcoming chromatic aberrations is a vital concern in imaging systems in order to facilitate fullcolor and hyperspectral imaging.By contrast,large dispersion holds opportunities for spectroscopy and tomography.Combining both functions into a single component will significantly enhance its versatility.A strategy is proposed to delicately integrate two lenses with a static resonant phase and a switchable geometric phase separately.The former is a metasurface lens with a linear phase dispersion.The latter is composed of liquid crystals(LCs)with space-variant orientations with a phase profile that is frequency independent.By this means,a broadband achromatic focusing from 0.9 to 1.4 THz is revealed.When a saturated bias is applied on LCs,the geometric phase modulation vanishes,leaving only the resonant phase of the metalens.Correspondingly,the device changes from achromatic to dispersive.Furthermore,a metadeflector with tunable dispersion is demonstrated to verify the universality of the proposed method.Our work may pave a way toward active metaoptics,promoting various imaging applications.Zhixiong Shen Shenghang Zhou Xinan Li Shijun Ge Peng Chen Wei Hu Yanqing Lu 2020Advanced Photonics2020,2,3:7

3Partial anammox achieved in full scale biofilm process for typical domestic wastewater treatment显示文摘The slow initiation of anammox for treating typical domestic wastewater and the relatively high footprint of wastewater treatment infrastructures are major concerns for practical wastewater treatment systems.Herein,a 300 m^(3)/d hybrid biofilm reactor(HBR)process was developed and operated with a short hydraulic retention time(HRT)of 8 h.The analysis of the bacterial community demonstrated that anammox were enriched in the anoxic zone of the HBR process.The percentage abundance of Candidatus Brocadia in the total bacterial community of the anoxic zone increased from 0 at Day 1 to 0.33%at Day 130 and then to 2.89%at Day 213.Based upon the activity of anammox bacteria,the removal of ammonia nitrogen(NH_(4)^(+)-N)in the anoxic zone was approximately 15%.This showed that the nitrogen transformation pathway was enhanced in the HBR system through partial anammox process in the anoxic zone.The final effluent contained 12 mg/L chemical oxygen demand(COD),0.662 mg/L NH_(4)^(+)-N,7.2 mg/L total nitrogen(TN),and 6 mg/L SS,indicating the effectiveness of the HBR process for treating real domestic wastewater.Feng Hou Ting Zhang Yongzhen Peng Xiaoxin Cao Hongtao Pang Yanqing Shao Xianchun Lu Ju Yuan Xi Chen Jin Zhang 2022Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2022,16,3:2
4Investigation on process mechanism of a novel energy-saving synthesis for high performance Li_(4)Ti_(5)O_(12) anode material显示文摘Li_(4)Ti_(5)O_(12)(LTO) anode material demonstrates superior cycling performance due to its stable spinel structure and high lithiation/de-lithiation potential.Herein,a novel energy-saving solid-phase synthesis route for LTO has been successfully designed,employing the cheap industrial intermediate product of metatitanic acid (HTO) as titanium source.Through the in-situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR)and ex-situ X-ray diffraction (XRD),it is revealed for the first time that the amorphous crystal structure of HTO is more conducive for the Li+insertion,making it possible to prepare LTO at a relatively lower sintering temperature.Utilizing the dehydration carbonization reaction between glucose and sulfuric acid,an ingenious strategy of glucose pre-coating is adopted to avoid the generation of Li_(2)SO_(4) impurity caused by the residual sulfuric acid on the surface of HTO,which meanwhile enhances the conductivity and inhibits the particle growth of LTO.The obtained ALTO@C anode material consequently exhibits excellent electrochemical performance that 132.0 m Ah g^(-1)is remained even at 20 C,and ultra low decay rate of 0.015% per cycle is achieved during 1000 cycles at 2 C.Remarkably,LiCoO_(2)//ALTO@C full cell delivers conspicuous low-temperature property (130.7 m Ah g^(-1)at 0.5 C and almost no attenuation after 300 cycles under-20℃).Guochuan Wang Hongmei Wang Guangqiang Ma Xinhe Du Liyu Du Peng Jing Yanqing Wang Kaipeng Wu Hao Wu Qian Wang Yun Zhang 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,7:1

11Polarization-dispersive imaging spectrometer for scattering circular dichroism spectroscopy of single chiral nanostructures显示文摘Circular dichroism spectroscopy is one of the most important tools in nanoscopic chiroptics.However,there is lack of simple,fast and reliable method for measuring the circular dichroism responses of single nanostructures.To tackle this issue,we report a polarization-dispersive imaging spectrometer which is capable of measuring the scattering circular dichroism response of a single chiral nanostructure with a single shot.Using this technique,we studied the scattering circular dichroism spectra of a model system,the vertically coupled plasmonic nanorod pair.Both experimental and theoretical results indicate that the polarization-dispersive spectrometer measures the imaginary part of nonlocal susceptibility of the structure.We further applied the technique to 3-dimensional Au nanorod structures assembled on DNA origami templates together with correlated scanning electron microscopic measurements.Rich chiroptical phenomena were unveiled at the single nanostructure level.Shuang Zhou Jie Bian Peng Chen Mo Xie Jie Chao Wei Hu Yanqing Lu Weihua Zhang 2022Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,4:1
12Demonstration of 85%pump depletion and 10-6 noise content in quasi-parametric chirped-pulse amplification显示文摘Full pump depletion corresponds to the upper limit of the generated signal photons relative to the pump pulse;this allows the highest peak power to be produced in a unit area of ultraintense laser amplifiers.In practical systems based on optical parametric chirped-pulse amplification,however,the typical pump depletion is only~35%.Here,we report quasi-parametric chirped-pulse amplification(QPCPA)with a specially designed 8-cm-thick Sm∶YCOB crystal that highly dissipates the idler and hence improves pump depletion.We demonstrate 56%QPCPA energy efficiency for an 810-nm signal converted from a 532-nm pump,or equivalently 85%pump depletion.As another advantage,such a record high depletion greatly suppresses the parametric superfluorescence noise in QPCPA to only~1.5×10-6 relative to the amplified signal energy.These results pave the way to beyond the ten-petawatt peak power of the currently most intense lasers.Jingui Ma Kainan Xiong Peng Yuan Xiaoniu Tu Jing Wang Guoqiang Xie Yanqing Zheng Liejia Qian 2022Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,10:1
