1Development and validation of an endoscopic images-based deep learning model for detection with nasopharyngeal malignancies显示文摘Background:Due to the occult anatomic location of the nasopharynx and frequent presence of adenoid hyperpla-sia,the positive rate for malignancy identification during biopsy is low,thus leading to delayed or missed diagnosis for nasopharyngeal malignancies upon initial attempt.Here,we aimed to develop an artificial intelligence tool to detect nasopharyngeal malignancies under endoscopic examination based on deep learning.Methods:An endoscopic images-based nasopharyngeal malignancy detection model(eNPM-DM)consisting of a fully convolutional network based on the inception architecture was developed and fine-tuned using separate training and validation sets for both classification and segmentation.Briefly,a total of 28,966 qualified images were collected.Among these images,27,536 biopsy-proven images from 7951 individuals obtained from January 1st,2008,to December 31st,2016,were split into the training,validation and test sets at a ratio of 7:1:2 using simple randomiza-tion.Additionally,1430 images obtained from January 1st,2017,to March 31st,2017,were used as a prospective test set to compare the performance of the established model against oncologist evaluation.The dice similarity coef-ficient(DSC)was used to evaluate the efficiency of eNPM-DM in automatic segmentation of malignant area from the background of nasopharyngeal endoscopic images,by comparing automatic segmentation with manual segmenta-tion performed by the experts.Results:All images were histopathologically confirmed,and included 5713(19.7%)normal control,19,107(66.0%)nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC),335(1.2%)NPC and 3811(13.2%)benign diseases.The eNPM-DM attained an overall accuracy of 88.7%(95%confidence interval(CI)87.8%-89.5%)in detecting malignancies in the test set.In the prospective comparison phase,eNPM-DM outperformed the experts:the overall accuracy was 88.0%(95%CI 86.1%-89.6%)vs.80.5%(95%CI 77.0%-84.0%).The eNPM-DM required less time(40 s vs.110.0±5.8 min)and exhibited encouraging performance in automatic segmentation of nasopharyngeal malignant area from the background,with an average DSC of 0.78±0.24 and 0.75±0.26 in the test and prospective test sets,respectively.Conclusions:The eNPM-DM outperformed oncologist evaluation in diagnostic classification of nasopharyngeal mass into benign versus malignant,and realized automatic segmentation of malignant area from the background of nasopharyngeal endoscopic images.Chaofeng Li Bingzhong Jing Liangru Ke Bin Li Weixiong Xia Caisheng He Chaonan Qian Chong Zhao Haiqiang Mai Mingyuan Chen Kajia Cao Haoyuan Mo Ling Guo Qiuyan Chen Linquan Tang Wenze Qiu Yahui Yu Hu Liang Xinjun Huang Guoying Liu Wangzhong Li Lin Wang Rui Sun Xiong Zou Shanshan Guo Peiyu Huang Donghua Luo Fang Qiu Yishan Wu Yijun Hua Kuiyuan Liu Shuhui Lv Jingjing Miao Yanqun Xiang Ying Sun Xiang Guo Xing Lv 2018Cancer Communications2018,38,1:9
2Hemostatic materials in wound care显示文摘Blood plays an essential role in the human body.Hemorrhage is a critical cause of both military and civilian casualties.The human body has its own hemostatic mechanism that involves complex processes and has limited capacity.However,in emergency situations such as battlefields and hospitals,when the hemostatic mechanism of the human body itself cannot stop bleeding effectively,hemostatic materials are needed for saving lives.In this review,the hemostatic mechanisms and performance of the most commonly used hemostatic materials,(including fibrin,collagen,zeolite,gelatin,alginate,chitosan,cellulose and cyanoacrylate)and the commercial wound dressings based on these materials,will be discussed.These materials may have limitations,such as poor tissue adhesion,risk of infection and exothermic reactions,that may lessen their hemostatic efficacy and cause secondary injuries.High-performance hemostatic materials,therefore,have been designed and developed to improve hemostatic efficiency in clinical use.In this review,hemostatic materials with advanced performances,such as antibacterial capacity,superhydrophobicity/superhydrophilicity,superelasticity,high porosity and/or biomimicry,will be introduced.Future prospects of hemostatic materials will also be discussed in this review.Peiyu Yu Wen Zhong 2021Burns & Trauma2021,9,1:6
3Physiological and ultralstructural changes of Chlorella sp. induced by UV-B radiation显示文摘In order to investigate the mechanisms of enhanced UV-B radiation on algae, the effects of UV-B radiation on the physiological and ultrastructural changes of Chlorella sp. were examined. The results showed that UV-B radiation could inhibit the growth and photosynthesis of microalgae. UV-B radiation at lower doses increased the photosynthetic pigment (chlorophyll a (Chla) and carotenoid (Car)) contents, while at higher doses of UV-B radiation Chla and Car contents were decreased. The ultrastructure of Chlorella sp. without exposure to UV-B showed that the thylakoid lamellae were clear and regular, the stroma of its chloroplast was apparent and clear. The globules with photosynthetic pigments and the cristae of mitochondria were clearly seen. After exposure to UV-B radiation at dose of 2.88 kJ/m2, the thylakoid lamellae of Chlorella sp. were lost and dissolved, the globules which contained photosynthetic pigments in chloroplast were bleached; some mitochondria cristae were dissolved; slight plasmolysis was found in some Chlorella sp. cells. After exposure to 5.76 kJ/m2 UV-B radiation, the thylakoid was in disarray and disintegration, plasmolysis was found in most cells, and the cell wall was broken and began to fall out. Many blank areas were observed in cells, mitochondria were seriously deformed and most of the mitochondria cristae were dissolved. Also, globules containing photosynthetic pigments in chloroplast were bleached and some empty globules were found in chloroplast. 4Planning and design of a micro energy network for seawater desalination and regional energy interconnection显示文摘With the rapid developme nt of the economy, the continu ously in creasing populati on, and ongoing climate change, the shortage of freshwater resources has become an increasingly important global problem. Seawater desalination tech no logy can effectively alleviate the pressure on freshwater supplies and has bee n in vestigated in many countries. However, the majority of existing projects focus on the research and development of desalination equipment and the use of new tech no logies and pay less atte ntion to the operation optimizati on of the desalinati on process. The micro energy n etwork (MEN) designed in this study is an efficient distributed energy supply system that can be used to simultaneously supply electricity, cooling, heating, and freshwater as photovoltaic power, wind power, combined heat and power (CHP), electric cooling and heating, and a seawater desalinati on device are in teg rated into the MEN. In this study, a model for operati on optimization of a MEN for seawater desalination was developed and the influences of the electric cooling and heating ratios and the operation optimization of the seawater desalination device were studied with the aim of minimizing the life cycle cost. 11Calixarene/pillararene-based supramolecular selective binding and molecular assembly显示文摘Calixarenes and pillararenes are cyclic oligomers containing repeating units of phenol and methane. The modification of ionized groups bring calixarenes and pillararenes derivates both good water solubility and strong binding affinities towards various organic/inorganic/biological guest molecules in both water and the solid state. Meanwhile, the pre-organized structures of these compounds are indispensable in constructing of stimuli-responsive supramolecular assembly. With these properties, the supramolecular selective binding and molecular assembly based on calixarene/pillararene are widely used in enzyme tandem assay, stimuli-responsive nanostructure, drug delivery, organelle fluorescent imaging, photo-controlled morphological change, organic and inorganic hybrid material, solid tunable photo-luminescence and so on. 13The effects of enriched C0_(2) and enhanced UV-B radiation on ultrastructure of Dunaliella salina, singly and in combination显示文摘The effects of ambient CO2/ambient UV- B, enriched CO2/ambient UV- B, ambient CO2/enhanced UV- B, and enriched CO2/ enhanced UV- B on the ultrastructure of Dunaliella salina were investigated. (1) The ultrastructure of D. salina cell in the control experiment showed that the arrangement of thylakoid lamellae was regular, and there were many large starch grains among the thylakoid lamellae. A prominent well-developed pyrenoid was found in the middle of the chloroplast. Nucleus envelope and nucleolus were clearly ob- served. The Golgi apparatus accompanied by numerous vesicles with a compact arrangement of cisternae and the peripheral tips of the cisternae were swollen to a size comparable to that of some of the associated vesicles. (2) The ultrastructure of D. salina cell in en- riched CO2 showed that the arrangement of thylakoid was regular and the lamellae were vivid. Developed pyrenoids were found in the low-CO2-grown cells, but not in the high-CO2-grown cells. The mitochondria cristae were vivid. The arrangement of Golgi apparatus was compact. (3) The ultrastructure of D. salina cell in enhanced UV- B showed that the thylakoid was dissolved and the cells had a less developed pyrenoid or no detectable pyrenoid. Part of the nucleus envelope was dissolved. The number of mitochondria was in- creased and some mitochondria cristae were disintegrated. The starch grains were broken apart into many small starch grains. The Gol- gi apparatus with a loose arrangement of cisternae and the peripheral tips of the Golgi cisternae were not especially swollen, with sev- eral large associated vesicles. (4) The ultrastructure of D. salina cell in the enriched CO2/enhanced UV- B showed that part of the thy- lakoid and nucleus envelopes of some cells were dissolved. The pyrenoid was larger than that of the enhanced UV- B. There were many mitochondria between stroma and chloroplast membrane, but mitochondria cristae were partly dissolved. Many small starch grains were accumulated in cells. The starch sheath was broken into several discontinuous starch grains with different sizes. The ar- rangement of Golgi apparatus was loose. 19Acupuncture and moxibustion for malignant tumor patients with psychological symptoms of insomnia,anxiety and depression:a systematic review and Meta-analysis显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of acupuncture and moxibustion therapy(AMT) for cancerrelated psychological symptoms(CRPS) of insomnia,depression and anxiety.METHODS:Seven databases were searched for randomized controlled trials(RCT) comparing AMT to routine care or conventional drug for alleviating CRPS of insomnia,depression,and anxiety before April 2020.Two independent reviewers performed the data extraction and assessed the risk of bias.RESULTS:A total of 30 RCTs involving 2483 cancer patients were enrolled.The pooled analysis indicated that the treatment group was significantly better than the control group in improving the depression effective rate [RR = 1.29,95% CI(1.12,1.49),P = 0.0004],the quality of life(QOL) [MD = 1.11,95% CI(0.80,1.42),P < 0.000 01],and reducing Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS) [MD =﹣7.75,95% CI(﹣10.44,﹣5.05),P < 0.000 01].But there was no statistically significant difference between two groups in improving the insomnia effective rate [RR = 1.18,95% CI(0.93,1.51),P = 0.18].The subgroup analysis showed the effectiveness of different intervention on CRPS.Compared with routine care,AMT helps relieve CRPS better evaluated by Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD),and Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS),and depression effective rate.Compared with conventional drug,AMT performs better evaluated by SDS,depression effective rate and QOL.Moreover,the conventional drug showed higher treatment efficacy on improving insomnia effective rate compared with AMT.Compared to conventional drug,AMT plus conventional drug resulted in a significant reduction on CRPS such as PSQI,HAMD,SDS,and SAS,and also had a meaningful improvement on insomnia effective rate,depression effective rate and QOL.Fewer published reports were found on the adverse events of AMT than the conventional drug.CONCLUSION:The results suggested that AMT might be effective in improving CPRI;however,a definite conclusion could not be drawn because the quality of trials are low.Further large-scale and high-quality RCTs to verify the efficacy and safety of AMT on CRPS are still warranted.MA Fangfang ZHANG Hewei LI Bingxue CHENG Peiyu YU Mingwei WANG Xiaomin 2023Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2023,43,3:0
20Axial and radial electromagnetic-vibration characteristics of converter transformer windings under current harmonics显示文摘The winding current harmonic content of converter transformer in operation is rich.However,affected by harmonics,the radial vibration characteristics are quite different from the power transformer,structural loosening and deformation caused by winding vibration are more prominent.Therefore,in view of the influence of current harmonics on axial and radial vibrations,this study builds a 3D winding electromagnetic vibration finite element simulation model,analyses the components and contents of current harmonics,compares the leakage flux and vibration distribution under the fundamental,harmonic and superimposed currents.The correlation relationship between the harmonic components and axial and radial vibration characteristics is obtained,and the vibration measurement test of±800 kV converter transformer in operation is carried out to verify the correctness of the analysis method.The results show that the winding radial vibration amplitude will exceed the axial vibration affected by harmonics.More importantly,under the superposition of the fundamental,5th and 7th harmonic current,the vibration contribution of the converter transformer tank is mainly radial vibration,and the vibration dominant frequency is shifted from 100 Hz under the fundamental current to 400 Hz.Peiyu Jiang Zhanlong Zhang Zijian Dong Yu Yang Zhicheng Pan Jun Deng 2023High Voltage2023,8,3:0
