Relation between electricity structure of the crust and deformation of crustal blocks on the northeastern margin of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau显示文摘Study on the electricity structure along a magnetotelluric (MT) sounding profile on the northeastern margin of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau indicates that four crustal blocks can be de-termined from southwest to northeast, namely Bayan Har block (BH), Qin-Qi block (QQ), Hai-yuan block (HY) or the North-South seismotectonic belt and Ordos block (OD). The BH, QQ and OD blocks display a similar electricity structure of the crust. The upper crust represents a high- resistivity layer and the upper part of lower crust represents a low-resistivity layer with the resis-tivity increasing gradually with depth from the lower part of lower crust to the upper mantle. The electricity structure of the crust in these three blocks is similar to that in the complete blocks on the southern and eastern margins of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and belongs to normal electricity layering of the crust in slightly deformed or complete intracontinental blocks. The crust in HY block as a boundary zone has been significantly deformed, hence its electricity layering was de-stroyed and the structure was complex and the block became a recent tectonically active and great seismo-active region. The contact belts between the blocks on the northeastern margin of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau exhibit both upthrusting outward and strike-slip movement different from those on the southern and eastern margins of the plateau. The genesis of the low-resistivity layer in the crust is analyzed and the thickness of the lithosphere is estimated in the paper. | ZHAO Guoze TANG Ji ZHAN Yan CHEN Xiaobin ZHUO Xianjun WANG Jijun XUAN Fei DENG Qianhui ZHAO Junmeng | 2005 | Science China Earth Sciences2005,48,10: | 20

Maternal heterozygous mutation in CHEK1 leads to mitotic arrest in human zygotes显示文摘Dear Editor,The first mitotic division in zygotes is crucial for the beginning of the life cycle for the human. After fertilization, zygotes reactivate cell cycle, both paternal and maternal genomes replicate and reprogram to become totipotent. In the meantime, the male and female pronucleus move to the center of the zygote and merge. Then zygotes enter the metaphase, and sister chromatids separate into two daughter cells(Eckersley-Maslin et al.,2018;Reichmann et al.,2018).This is a sensitive time window and many perturbances may cause the first mitosis to fail. | Beili Chen Jianying Guo Ting Wang Qianhui Lee Jia Ming Fangfang Ding Haitao Li Zhiguo Zhang Lin Li Yunxia Cao Jie Na | 2022 | Protein & Cell2022,13,2: | 1
Image Retrieval Based on Deep Feature Extraction and Reduction with Improved CNN and PCA显示文摘With the rapid development of information technology, the speed and efficiency of image retrieval are increasingly required in many fields, and a compelling image retrieval method is critical for the development of information.Feature extraction based on deep learning has become dominant in image retrieval due to their discrimination more complete, information more complementary and higher precision. However, the high-dimension deep features extracted by CNNs(convolutional neural networks)limits the retrieval efficiency and makes it difficult to satisfy the requirements of existing image retrieval. To solving this problem, the high-dimension feature reduction technology is proposed with improved CNN and PCA quadratic dimensionality reduction.Firstly,in the last layer of the classical networks, this study makes a well-designed DR-Module(dimensionality reduction module)to compress the number of channels of the feature map as much as possible, and ensures the amount of information.Secondly, the deep features are compressed again with PCA(Principal Components Analysis),and the compression ratios of the two dimensionality reductions are reduced, respectively. Therefore, the retrieval efficiency is dramatically improved. Finally,it is proved on the Cifar100 and Caltech101 datasets that the novel method not only improves the retrieval accuracy but also enhances the retrieval efficiency.Experimental results strongly demonstrate that the proposed method performs well in small and medium-sized datasets. | Rongyu Chen Lili Pan Yan Zhou Qianhui Lei | 2020 | Journal of Information Hiding and Privacy Protection2020,2,2: | 1
miR-125b reverses cisplatin resistance by regulating autophagy via targeting RORA/BNIP3L axis in lung adenocarcinoma显示文摘The platinum-based chemotherapy is one of the most frequently used treatment protocols for lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD),and chemoresistance, however, usually results in treatment failure and limits its application in the clinic. It has been shown that microRNAs(miRNAs)play a significant role in tumor chemoresistance. In this study,miR-125b was identified as a specific cisplatin(DDP)-resistant gene in LUAD,as indicated by the bioinformatics analysis and the real-time quantitative PCR assay. The decreased serum level of miR-125b in LUAD patients was correlated with the poor treatment response rate and short survival time.MiR-125b decreased the A549/DDP proliferation, and the multiple drug resistance-and autophagy-related protein expression levels, which were all reversed by the inhibition of miR-125b.In addition, xenografts of human tumors in nude mice were suppressed by miR-125b,demonstrating that through autophagy regulation,miR-125b could reverse the DDP resistance in LUAD cells, both in vitro and in vivo.Further mechanistic studies indicated that miR-125b directly repressed the expression levels of RORA and its downstream BNIP3L,which in turn inhibited autophagy and reversed chemoresistance.Based on these findings,miR-125b in combination with DDP might be an effective treatment option to overcome DDP resistance in LUAD. | LEI LIU NA GUO XIANGLING LI QIAN XU RUILONG HE LIMIN CHENG CHUNYAN DANG XINYU BAI YIYING BAI XIN WANG QIANHUI CHEN LI ZHANG | 2024 | Oncology Research2024,32,4: | 0
Selection for Cheaper Amino Acids Drives Nucleotide Usage at the Start of Translation in Eukaryotic Genes显示文摘Coding regions have complex interactions among multiple selective forces, which are manifested as biases in nucleotide composition.Previous studies have revealed a decreasing GC gradient from the 5′-end to 3′-end of coding regions in various organisms. We confirmed that this gradient is universal in eukaryotic genes, but the decrease only starts from the~25th codon. This trend is mostly found in nonsynonymous(ns)sites at which the GC gradient is universal across the eukaryotic genome.Increased GC contents at ns sites result in cheaper amino acids, indicating a universal selection for energy efficiency toward the N-termini of encoded proteins.Within a genome, the decreasing GC gradient is intensified from lowly to highly expressed genes(more and more protein products),further supporting this hypothesis. This reveals a conserved selective constraint for cheaper amino acids at the translation start that drives the increased GC contents at ns sites.Elevated GC contents can facilitate transcription but result in a more stable local secondary structure around the start codon and subsequently impede translation initiation.Conversely, the GC gradients at four-fold and two-fold synonymous sites vary across species. They could decrease or increase, suggesting different constraints acting at the GC contents of different codon sites in different species. This study reveals that the overall GC contents at the translation start are consequences of complex interactions among several major biological processes that shape the nucleotide sequences, especially efficient energy usage. | Na L.Gao Zilong He Qianhui Zhu Puzi Jiang Songnian Hu Wei-Hua Chen | 2021 | Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2021,19,6: | 0
Identification of Expression Pattern and Clinical Significance of the Small Cajal Body-specific RNA SCARNA16 in Hepatocellular Carcinoma显示文摘Background and Aims:For high morbidity and mortality, hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)becomes a major health issue worldwide.Nowadays, numerous non-coding RNAs(ncRNAs)are known to regulate the occurrence and patho-genesis of tumors. Some ncRNAs have also been developed as tumor biomarkers and therapeutic targets. However, the potential function of the small Cajal body-specific RNA(scaRNA)SCARNA16,a newly identified ncRNA,remains to be explored in HCC.Methods:In both HCC cell lines and specimens from 120 enrolled patients, the expression val-ues of SCARNA16 were detected. We divided patients into SCARNA16 high and low expression subgroups, and then analyzed the difference of various clinical characteristics and prognosis data between subgroups. Results:Compared to paired controls,SCARNA16 was significantly down-regulated in HCC cell lines and clinical specimens(p<0.01).Besides,HCC patients with lower SCARNA16 expression commonly presented with larger and more tumor lesions, more ves-sel carcinoma emboli, more capsular invasion and higher TNM stages(p<0.05).Moreover,SCARNA16 expression was negatively correlated with postoperative prognosis of HCC patients in 5-year follow-up,including tumor-free survival(TFS)(median time of low vs.high subgroups:14 vs.48 months,p=0.006)and overall survival(OS)(median time of low vs.high subgroups:39 vs.52 months,p=0.001).Besides,SCARNA16 acted as an independent prognostic bio-marker in TFS(hazard ratio[HR]:0.578,95%CI:0.345-0.969,p=0.038)and OS(HR:0.366,95%CI:0.178-0.752,p=0.006).Conclusions:Low expression patterns of SCAR-NA16 remarkably associated with severe clinical status and poor survival of patients, suggesting that SCARNA16 pos-sesses potency as a novel biomarker for HCC. | Sitong Zhang Yuan Ding Zhongquan Sun Yao Ge Yanjie Li Xin Han Qianhui Xu Liuzhi Zhou Yining Chen Hao Xu Yang Bai Chang Xu Hao Ding Sheng Yan Weilin Wang | 2022 | Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2022,10,1: | 0
Housing Market Speculation and Firm Productivity:Evidence from China显示文摘An appreciation in the price of housing could generate speculation opportunities for enterprises. Many firms try to seize these opportunities for quick returns. This may harm their productivity. We use the real estate boom and the investment activities of Chinese manufacturing firms during 2006–2017 to examine the processes and the net effect of housing market speculation on firm productivity. We find that housing market speculation negatively affects firm productivity by crowding out investments in research and development and productive fixed assets, and the positive effect brought about by a strengthened balance sheet and better financing capacity is outweighed by the crowding-out effect. This negative impact is more evident in state-owned firms, but is mitigated in regions and periods with better business environments.Set in the overheated housing market in China, our study contributes to the existing literature by exploring how firms’investments outside of their main business influence firm behavior and productivity. | Qianhui Yu Yanying Chen Feng Helen Liang | 2021 | China & World Economy2021,29,5: | 0

Screening of nanobody against Microcystis from a human phage display nanobody library显示文摘Microcystis species identification is essential for ecological studies and water bloom control.Immunoassays are more specific and convenient and several approaches have been used to develop for diagnosing harmful red tide algae.Howeve r,inve stigations onMicrocystis identification using immunological approaches are still in the initial stage. In this study.Microcystis aeruginosa PCC7806 lysates were utilized as coated antigens to enrich and screen specific Microcystis nanobodies from a human domain antibody display library. After three rounds of enrichment,10 positive monoclonal particles were isolated from the library and the most two positive nanobodies(DAb2 and Dab3)were effectively produced in Escherichia coli BL21.Finally,the DAb2 showed specific immune binding to different Microcystis by the immuno-dot blot assay. This antibody could be used to establish an immunological method to identify Microcystis. | Yao ZU Wenjie MIAO Yu LUO Chen XU Qianhui PAN Siyu CHEN Jianhong LI | 2022 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2022,40,5: | 0
Data quality assessment for studies investigating microplastics and nanoplastics in food products: Are current data reliable?显示文摘Data on the occurrence of microplastics and nanoplastics(MP/NPs)in foods have been used to assess the human health risk caused by the consumption of MP/NPs.The reliability of the data, however, remains unclear because of the lack of international standards for the analysis of MP/NPs in foods. Therefore, the data quality needs to be assessed for accurate health risk assessment. This study developed 10 criteria applicable to the quality assessment of data on MP/NPs in foods.Accordingly, the reliability of 71 data records(69 of them only focused on MPs)was assessed by assigning a score of 2(reliable without restrictions),1(reliable but with restrictions),or 0(unreliable)on each criterion. The results showed that only three data records scored 2 or 1 on all criteria, and six data records scored 0 on as many as six criteria.A total of 58 data records did not include information on positive controls, and 12 data records did not conduct the polymer identification, which could result in the overestimation or underestimation of MP/NPs.Our results also indicated that the data quality of unprocessed foods was more reliable than that of processed foods.Furthermore,we proposed a quality assurance and quality control protocol to investigate MP/NPs in foods.Notably, the characteristics of MP/NPs used in toxicological studies and those existing in foods showed a remarkable discrepancy, causing the uncertainty of health risk assessment. Therefore, both the estimated exposure of MP/NPs and the claimed potential health risks should be treated with caution. | Lihua Pang Qianhui Lin Shasha Zhao Hao Zheng Chenguang Li Jing Zhang Cuizhu Sun Lingyun Chen Fengmin Li | 2023 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2023,17,8: | 0
Clinical characteristics and risk factors of hepatitis B virus-related cirrhosis/hepatocellular carcinoma:A single-center retrospective study显示文摘Background and aims:Hepatitis B virus(HBV)infection is a major global health problem which progresses to liver cirrhosis(LC)and hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Early prediction of disease changes and intervention are essential to slow disease progression and protect liver function. This study aimed to analyze the clinical characteristics of patients with HBV-related LC and HCC at different serum alanine aminotransferase(ALT)levels and explore the risk factors of HBV infection progressing to LC/HCC.Methods:A total of 379 patients with HBV infection treated in The Third People's Hospital of Shenzhen between January 2014 and December 2016 without any antiviral drug therapy were enrolled.Patients were divided into the LC/HCC and non-LC/HCC groups based on clinical diagnosis, which was determined through imaging and expressions of pathological and laboratory test markers, and patients with LC/HCC were further divided into three groups according to the serum ALT levels.Differences in general information, clinical symptoms, and expression levels of serological indices of the above groups were compared and analyzed, logistic regression was used to analyze the risk factors for LC/HCC development, and the clinical diagnostic efficacy of indicators was judged by the receiver operator characteristic(ROC).Results:LC/HCC mainly occurred in the ALT normal and mildly elevated groups, with 70.83% of patients with HCC having an LC background. In the comparison of different ALT level groups, the moderately eseverely elevated group had the highest proportion of patients with skin jaundice, abdominal varices, rebound tenderness, higher white blood cell and neutrophil(NEUT)counts;and higher levels of aspartate aminotransferase, glutamyl transpeptidase, total bilirubin, and direct bilirubin. The LC/HCC group was older and had significantly higher proportions of male patients, alcohol consumption, and combined hypertension than the non-LC/HCC group(all P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that age, combined hypertension, abdominal varicose veins, subcostal palpation, and NEUT count were risk factors for LC/HCC development;and the area under the curve for this model on the ROC analysis was 0.935(95%confidence interval 0.899e0.972)with specificity and sensitivity of 97.4%and 70.7%,respectively. | Feng Chen Qianhui Li Xiaomin Xu Fei Wang | 2023 | Liver Research2023,7,3: | 0
An online physical simulation method for enhanced oil recovery by air injection in shale oil显示文摘In order to understand the mechanism of air flooding shale oil, an online physical simulation method for enhanced shale oil recovery by air injection was established by integrating CT scanning and nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR). The development effect of shale oil by air flooding under different depletion pressures, the micro-production characteristics of pore throats with different sizes and the mechanism of shale oil recovery by air flooding were analyzed. The effects of air oxygen content, permeability, gas injection pressure, and fractures on the air flooding effect in shale and crude oil production in pores with different sizes were analyzed. The recovery of shale oil can be greatly improved by injecting air into the depleted shale reservoir, but the oil displacement efficiency and the production degree of different levels of pore throats vary with the injection timing. The higher the air oxygen content and the stronger the low-temperature oxidation, the higher the production degree of pores with different sizes and the higher the shale oil recovery. The higher the permeability and the better the pore throat connectivity, the stronger the fluid flow capacity and the higher the shale oil recovery. As the injection pressure increases, the lower limit of the production degree of pore throats decreases, but gas channeling may occur to cause a premature breakthrough;as a result, the recovery increases and then decreases. Fractures can effectively increase the contact area between gas and crude oil, and increase the air sweep coefficient and matrix oil drainage area by supplying oil to fractures through the matrix, which means that a proper fracturing before air injection can help to improve the oil displacement effect under a reasonable production pressure difference. | DU Meng LYU Weifeng YANG Zhengming JIA Ninghong ZHANG Jigang NIU Zhongkun LI Wen CHEN Xinliang YAO Lanlan CHANG Yilin JIANG Sirui HUANG Qianhui | 2023 | Petroleum Exploration and Development2023,50,4: | 0
Pan-cancer analysis of the prognostic and immunological role of nucleophosmin/nucleoplasmin 3(NPM3)and its potential significance in lung adenocarcinoma显示文摘Background Nucleophosmin/nucleoplasmin 3(NPM3),a member of the NPM protein family,is widely expressed in various human tissues.Although previous studies identified elevated NPM3 expression in several cancers,a systematic pan-cancer analysis remains lacking. In this study,we conducted a comprehensive analysis of NPM3 to determine its role in tumorigenesis and tumor development. Methods Using data from The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)and various bioinformatics analysis tools,we conducted a pan-cancer analysis of NPM3.Additionally,we collected gene expression and clinical data from 890 patients with lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD)from TCGA and the Gene Expression Omnibus database. We performed Cox regression analyses to explore the independent prognostic value of NPM3 expression in LUAD and plotted a nomogram to predict patient survival. We also used real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR)to examine the expression levels of NPM3 in seven pairs of LUAD and paraneoplastic tissue samples. Results NPM3 expression was significantly increased in 20 types of cancer and was associated with poor prognosis in five types(P<0.05).NPM3 expression was negatively correlated with DNA methylation and positively correlated with copy number variation.NPM3 was also significantly associated with immune cell infiltration in various cancers.Cox regression analyses revealed that NPM3 expression could serve as an independent prognostic marker of LUAD.Moreover, our nomogram demonstrated good predictive ability for the prognosis of patients with LUAD.Finally, the high expression of NPM3 in LUAD was verified using RT-qPCR.Conclusion NPM3 is a promising biomarker for predicting pan-cancer prognosis and immunotherapeutic efficacy. | Qianhui Wei Jing Zhou Xinyue Wang Zhaona Li Xiuqiong Chen Kaidi Chen Richeng Jiang | 2023 | Cancer Pathogenesis and Therapy2023,1,4: | 0
