Velocity-Free MS/AE Source Location Method for Three-Dimensional Hole-Containing Structures显示文摘Microseismic/acoustic emission(MS/AE)source localization method is crucial for predicting and controlling of potentially dangerous sources of complex structures. However, the locating errors induced by both the irregular structure and pre-measured velocity are poorly understood in existing methods. To meet the high-accuracy locating requirements in complex three-dimensional hole-containing structures,a velocity-free MS/AE source location method is developed in this paper. It avoids manual repetitive training by using equidistant grid points to search the path, which introduces A*search algorithm and uses grid points to accommodate complex structures with irregular holes. It also takes advantage of the velocity-free source location method. To verify the validity of the proposed method,lead-breaking tests were performed on a cubic concrete test specimen with a size of 10 cm10 cm10 cm.It was cut out into a cylindrical empty space with a size of/6cm10 cm.Based on the arrivals, the classical Geiger method and the proposed method are used to locate lead-breaking sources. Results show that the locating error of the proposed method is 1.20 cm,which is less than 2.02 cm of the Geiger method.Hence, the proposed method can effectively locate sources in the complex three-dimensional structure with holes and achieve higher precision requirements.Longjun Dong Qingchun Hu Xiaojie Tong Youfang Liu 2020Engineering2020,6,7:22
The electromagnetic wave experiment for CSES mission: Search coil magnetometer显示文摘The seismic activities on the Earth can produce a disturbance of the electromagnetic field and particles in the ionosphere. The search coil magnetometer(SCM) mounted on China Seismo-Electromagnetic satellite(CSES) is designed to measure the magnetic field fluctuation of low frequency electromagnetic waves in the frequency range of 10 Hz–20 k Hz. The SCM comprises a three-axis search coil sensor mounted on a 4.5 m boom and an electronic box inside satellite module. The sampling rate of the SCM is 51.2 k Hz and the time resolution of the power spectrum density(PSD) is 2 s. The frequency resolution is 12.5 Hz.There are three operation modes: survey, detailed survey and calibration. In the survey mode, the SCM can provide a PSD in the whole frequency range of 10 Hz–20 k Hz and wave forms in the low frequency range below 2 k Hz while in the detailed survey mode the SCM can provide both PSD and wave forms in the whole frequency range of 10 Hz–20 k Hz. The sensitivity of the SCM instrument is 5.0×10^(-4) n T Hz^(-1/2) at 10 Hz, 5.0×10^(–5) n T Hz^(-1/2) at 200 Hz, 3.4×10^(-5) n T Hz^(-1/2) at 2 k Hz and 1.1×10^(-4) n T Hz^(-1/2) at 20 k Hz. The telemetry rate is ~0.85 Mbps in the survey mode and ~3.0 Mbps in the detailed survey mode. The phase difference between three axes can be made generally with a precision of less than 1.0°. The dynamic range of the SCM instrument is over 100 d B. The orthogonality of three mechanical axes of search coil senor is better than 0.13°. The performance of SCM can satisfy the requirement of scientific objectives of CSES mission.CAO JinBin ZENG Li ZHAN Feng WANG ZuoGui WANG Yan CHEN Yu MENG QingChun JI ZhanQiang WANG PengFei LIU ZhongWei MA LingYu 2018Science China(Technological Sciences)2018,61,5:13
QTG-Seq Accelerates QTL Fine Mapping through QTL Partitioning and Whole-Genome Sequencing of Bulked Segregant Samples显示文摘Deciphering the genetic mechanisms underlying agronomic traits is of great importance for crop improvement. Most of these traits are controlled by multiple quantitative trait loci (QTLs), and identifying the underlying genes by conventional QTL fine-mapping is time-consuming and labor-intensive. Here, we devised a new method, named quantitative trait gene sequencing (QTG-seq), to accelerate QTL fine-mapping. QTGseq combines QTL partitioning to convert a quantitative trait into a near-qualitative trait, sequencing of bulked segregant pools from a large segregating population, and the use of a robust new algorithm for identifying candidate genes. Using QTG-seq, we fine-mapped a plant-height QTL in maize (Zea mays L.), qPH7, to a 300-kb genomic interval and verified that a gene encoding an NF-YC transcription factor was the functional gene. Functional analysis suggested that qPH7-encoding protein might influence plant height by interacting with a CO-like protein and an AP2 domain-containing protein. Selection footprint ana卜 ysis indicated that qPH7 was subject to strong selection during maize improvement. In summary, QTG-seq provides an efficient method for QTL fine-mapping in the era of “big data'.Hongwei Zhang Xi Wang Qingchun Pan Pei Li Yunjun Liu Xiaoduo Lu Wanshun Zhong Minqi Li Linqian Han Juan Li Pingxi Wang Dongdong Li Yan Liu Qing Li Fang Yang Yuan-Ming Zhang Guoying Wang Lin Li 2019Molecular Plant2019,12,3:13
Where were the monsoon regions and arid zones in Asia prior to the Tibetan Plateau uplift?显示文摘The impact of the Tibetan Plateau uplit on the Asian monsoons and inland arid climates is an important but also controversial question in studies of paleoenvironmental change during the Cenozoic. In order to achieve a good understanding of the background for the formation of the Asian monsoons and arid environments, it is necessary to know the characteristics of the distribution of monsoon regions and arid zones in Asia before the plateau uplit. In this study, we discuss in detail the paterns of distribution of the Asian monsoon and arid regions before the plateau uplit on the basis of modeling results without topography from a global coupled atmosphere–ocean general circulation model, compare our results with previous simulation studies and available biogeological data, and review the uncertainties in the current knowledge. Based on what we know at the moment, tropical monsoon climates existed south of 20?N in South and Southeast Asia before the plateau uplit, while the East Asian monsoon was entirely absent in the extratropics. hese tropical monsoons mainly resulted from the seasonal shits of the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone. here may have been a quasi-monsoon region in central-southern Siberia. Most of the arid regions in the Asian continent were limited to the latitudes of 20–40?N, corresponding to the range of the subtropical high pressure year-around. In the meantime, the present-day arid regions located in the relatively high latitudes in Central Asia were most likely absent before the plateau uplit. he main results from the above modeling analyses are qualitatively consistent with the available biogeological data. hese results highlight the importance of the uplit of the Tibetan Plateau in the Cenozoic evolution of the Asian climate patern of dry–wet conditions. Future studies should be focused on efects of the changes in land–sea distribution and atmospheric CO2 concentrations before and ater the plateau uplit, and also on cross-comparisons between numerical simulations and geological evidence, so that a comprehensive understanding of the evolution of the Cenozoic paleoenvironments in Asia can be achieved.Xiaodong Liu Qingchun Guo Zhengtang Guo Zhi-Yong Yin Buwen Dong Robin Smith 2015National Science Review2015,2,4:12

Continental drift, plateau uplift, and the evolutions of monsoon and arid regions in Asia, Africa, and Australia during the Cenozoic显示文摘Monsoon and arid regions in the Asia-Africa-Australia(A-A-A) realm occupy more than 60% of the total area of these continents. Geological evidence showed that significant changes occurred to the A-A-A environments of the monsoon and arid regions, the land-ocean configuration in the Eastern Hemisphere, and the topography of the Tibetan Plateau(TP) in the Cenozoic. Motivated by this background, numerical experiments for 5 typical geological periods during the Cenozoic were conducted using a coupled ocean-atmosphere general circulation model to systemically explore the formations and evolutionary histories of the Cenozoic A-A-A monsoon and arid regions under the influences of continental drift and plateau uplift. Results of the numerical experiments indicate that the timings and causes of the formations of monsoon and arid regions in the A-A-A realm were very different. The northern and southern African monsoons existed during the mid-Paleocene, while the South Asian monsoon appeared in the Eocene after the Indian Subcontinent moved into the tropical Northern Hemisphere. In contrast, the East Asian monsoon and northern Australian monsoon were established much later in the Miocene. The establishment of the tropical monsoons in northern and southern Africa, South Asia, and Australia were determined by both the continental drift and seasonal migration of the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone(ITCZ), while the position and height of the TP were the key factor for the establishment of the East Asian monsoon. The presence of the subtropical arid regions in northern and southern Africa,Asia, and Australia depended on the positions of the continents and the control of the planetary scale subtropical high pressure zones, while the arid regions in the Arabian Peninsula and West Asia were closely related to the retreat of the Paratethys Sea. The formation of the mid-latitude arid region in the Asian interior, on the other hand, was the consequence of the uplift of the TP.These results from this study provide insight to the important roles played by the earth's tectonic boundary conditions in the formations and evolutions of regional climates during geological times.Xiaodong LIU Buwen DONG Zhi-Yong YIN Robin S.SMITH Qingchun GUO 2019Science China Earth Sciences2019,62,7:5
OPTIMAL CONTROL OF AN ACTIVE SUSPENSION SYSTEMEMPLOYING HIGH SPEED ON/OFF SOLENOID VALVE显示文摘Previous studies have confirmed that an active suspension system with high speed ON/OFF solenoid valves could provide the same vibration isolation efficiency as that of system with pressure proportional valve. In this study, by using Linear-quadratic optimization technique and Kalman filter method, an optimal regulator controller with a state observer was designed for the proposed system. Simulation and experimental research was conducted on a quarter car model. The simulation analysis of the system frequency characteristic suggested that the peak value of magnitude response curve in the case of system with an optimal controller would be lowered significantly, and the experiment results also showed that an improvement in the vibration isolation effect was obtained in using the designed optimal controller over the sky hook damper controller.Liu Shaojun Zhong Jue Li Qingchun (College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering,Central South University of Technology, Changsha 410083, China)HironaoYAMADA YoshikazuSUEMATSU(NAGOYAUniversity Japan) 1997Journal of Central South University1997,9,2:4
Long-term Fiber Photometry for Neuroscience Studies显示文摘Fiber photometry is a sensitive and easy way to detect changes in fluorescent signals. The combination of fiber photometry with various fluorescent biomarkers has substantially advanced neuroscience research over the last decade. Despite the wide use of fiber photometry in biomedical fields, the lack of a detailed and comprehensive protocol has limited progress and sometimes complicated the interpretation of data. Here, we describe detailed procedures of fiber photometry for the long-term monitoring of neuronal activity in freely-behaving animals, including surgery, apparatus setup, data collection, and analysis.Yi Li Zhixiang Liu Qingchun Guo Minmin Luo 2019Neuroscience Bulletin2019,35,3:3
Development of high-resolution chloroplast markers for intraspecific phylogeographic studies of Phaeocystis globosa显示文摘Phaeocystis globosa is an important harmful algal bloom causative species distributing widely in temperate and tropical coastal waters in the world. The morphological, physiological, and biochemical characteristics are different among geographic strains, which can not be distinguished with nuclear ribosomal DNA markers at present. Therefore, the genetic distance and phylogeographic relationships of nuclear 28S rDNA D1–D2 and ITS regions, and three chloroplast intergenic spacers(petN-trnS1,trnM1-psbA,and rbcS-rpl27)were analyzed and compared among 13 strains of P.globosa isolated from the Pacific Ocean and Atlantic Ocean in this study. In addition, the nucleotide polymorphisms of 28S rDNA D1–D2,ITS,and rbcS-rpl27 regions were evaluated in two P.globosa strains. The various levels of nucleotide polymorphism were in the nuclear 28S rDNA D1–D2 region and ITS region, but no polymorphism was in the chloroplast rbcS-rpl27 intergenic spacer.A reasonable intraspecific phylogeographic relationship was presented by rbcS-rpl27 intergenic spacer, which had the strongest distinction to geographic strains compared to those of 28S rDNA D1–D2 and ITS regions. In the phylogenetic tree of rbcS-rpl27 intergenic spacer, the two strains from the North Sea of the Atlantic Ocean were divided firstly from the species of P.globosa, and then formed an independent clade, while the other Atlantic strains and all of Pacific strains joined up to build the other clade. It was implied that at least two genetically distant populations of P.globosa existed in the Atlantic coastal regions. This study provided a high-resolution chloroplast marker to analyze intraspecific phylogeographic populations of P.globosa, and preliminarily clarified the genetic relationships of the Pacific and Atlantic strains of P.globosa.Qingchun ZHANG Zhuang NIU Jinxiu WANG Chao LIU Fanzhou KONG Xiaokun HU Jiayu ZHAO Rencheng YU 2021Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2021,39,2:3
Planar morphology and controlling factors of the gullies in the Yuanmou Dry-hot Valley based on field investigation显示文摘The plane form of a gully can provide a basis for evaluating the gully volume and erosion rate, acting process, and evolutionary stage. For describing the planar characteristics of a permanent gully and understanding their controlling factors, this study, utilizing a total station and GPS RTK, measured the shoulder lines and channel curves of 112 gullies in six sites of the Yuanmou Dry-hot Valley and then mapped them by Arc GIS software and calculated nine parameters. The results showed that the channel lengths range from 10.88 to 249.11 m; the widths range from 6.20 to 40.99 m; the perimeters range from 54.11 to 541.67 m; the gully areas range from 153.02 to 6,930.30 m2; the left-side areas range from 92.93 to 4,027.20 m2; and the right-side areas range from 63.65 to 3,539.77 m2. The slightly sinuous and straight gullies account for 73.21% of the total gullies; the quantity of the right skewed gullies is 8.93% greater than that of the left skewed ones based on the symmetry ratio; the shape ratios range from 1.12 to 1.40 and the morphology ratios from 0.038 to 1.294; the fractal dimension is 1.192. Gullies in different sites have diverse planar characteristics. Except for the symmetry index, which was close to a negatively skewed distribution, all of the other parameters had the characteristic of positively skewed distribution. The gully area is related to the length and width, but the gully length has a weak correlation with the width. The evolutionary stage, topographic conditions, strata, soil properties, and piping erosion played very important roles in the gully planar morphology. This study could provide useful information for controlling gully erosion and safeguarding human habitation and engineering buildings.DENG Qingchun MIAO Fang ZHANG Bin LUO Mingliang LIU Hui LIU Xiaojiao QIN Fachao LIU Gangcai 2015Journal of Arid Land2015,7,6:3
Graphene oxide-silver/cotton fiber fabric with anti-bacterial and anti-UV properties for wearable gas sensors显示文摘Wearable gas sensors can improve early warning provision for workers in special worksites and can also be used as flexible electronic platforms. Here, the flexible multifunctional gas sensor was prepared by grafting graphene oxide(GO)-Ag onto cotton fabric after swelling. The maximum bacterial inhibition rate of GO-150/cotton fabric was 95.6%for E.coli and 87.6%for S.aureus, while retaining the original high moisture permeability of cotton fabric. So GO/cotton fabric can resist the multiplication of bacteria. At the same time,GO can greatly improve the UV protection performance of cotton fabric used in garments. With increase of the GO concentration, the UV protection ability of composite fabric is enhanced.Finally,GO-Ag/cotton fabric sensors had stable NH3 gassensitive properties and good washing stability. In conclusion, these cotton fabric sensors with antibacterial properties,UV resistance and highly sensitive gas-sensitive properties have potential applications in wearable early warning devices and textile products.Xia HE Qingchun LIU Ying ZHOU Zhan CHEN Chenlu ZHU Wanhui JIN 2021Frontiers of Materials Science2021,15,3:2
Primary environmental factors controlling gully distribution at the local and regional scale:An example from Northeastern China显示文摘Gully erosion is the main cause of global land degradation. The factors controlling gully erosion at watershed scale have been extensively studied, but the spatial pattern of gullies and their primary environmental factors are unclear. In order to explore the primary factors at the regional scale of over thousands of square kilometers,34 sample areas were selected in northeastern China and 10 environ-mental factors were proposed.Based on gully interpretations from high-resolution Google Earth images and spatial analysis, kernel density estimation(with polyline features),and correlation analysis, the results show that the maximum kernel density(KD)of the 34 sample areas ranged from 0.11 to 87.16,and there were significant positive correlations between the average KD and the maximum value and standard deviation. At the regional scale, topography(relief amplitude, slope, surface roughness, surface incision, and elevation with correlation coefficients(p)of 0.60,0.59,0.57,0.48,and 0.41 respectively)was the primary environmental factor, with a significant positive correlation with KD.The correlation co-efficients of the normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI)(p=032),annual precipitation(p=0.19),and soil(silt, sand, and clay content with p of 0.139,-0.117,and 0.085,respectively)decreased succes-sively with the KD.At sample area scale, there were six areas with weak correlations between envi-ronmental factors and KD,20 areas with topographic factors, six areas with annual precipitation, and two areas with NDVI as the primary factor. The correlation between soil texture and KD was low. There were different positive or negative correlations between the environmental factors and KD.The spatial dis-tribution of gullies in northeastern China is heterogeneous, and the primary environmental factors were diverse. This study will help to understand the spatial pattern and formation mechanism of gullies at large scale.Yushu Zhou Bin Zhang Wei Qin Qingchun Deng Jun Luo Hui Liu Dan Yang Houling Wang Ying Zhao 2021International Soil and Water Conservation Research2021,9,1:2
The effect of basal dislocation on {11■1} twin boundary evolution in a Mg-Gd-Y-Zr alloy显示文摘This study aims to understand the features of{11■1}twin boundaries in a high strain rate compressed Mg-10 Gd-3Y-0.4Zr using electron backscatter diffraction(EBSD)and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).Based on the Schmid factor calculations, the basal dislocations are easily activated within the{11■1}twin and suppressed in the surrounding matrix. The consequent basal dislocation-twin interaction during deformation can lead to the misorentiation deviation of{11■1}twin boundaries, accompanying with the formation of a step at the twin boundary.Such a{11■1}twin boundary evolution mechanism provides a new vision of twinning behavior in Mg alloys.Huan Zhang Yangxin Li Yuxuan Liu Qingchun Zhu Xixi Qi Gaoming Zhu Jinhui Wang Peipeng Jin Xiaoqin Zeng 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,22:2
Wearable gas/strain sensors based on reduced graphene oxide/linen fabrics显示文摘Multifunctional wearable e-textiles have been a focus of much attention due to their great potential for healthcare, sportswear, fitness, space, and military applications.Among them, electroconductive textile yarn shows great promise for use as the next-generation flexible sensors without compromising properties and comfort of usual textiles.Recently,a myriad of efforts have been devoted to improving performance and functionality of wearable sensors. However, the current manufacturing process of metal-based electroconductive textile yarn is expensive, unscalable, and environmentally unfriendly. In this work,we report the preparation of multifunctional reduced graphene oxide/linen(RGO/LN)fabrics through the reduction and the followed suction filtration.Asprepared RGO/LN fabric could serve as the methane gas sensor, which exhibited high sensitivity, remarkable reliability and feasibility.Furthermore, the RGO/LN fabric sensor exhibited good moisture permeability and air permeability. The present work reveals that RGO/LN fabric has great potential as wearable smart devices in personal healthcare applications.Xia HE Qingchun LIU Jiajun WANG Huiling CHEN 2019Frontiers of Materials Science2019,13,3:2
The hypothalamus for whole-body physiology:from metabolism to aging显示文摘Obesity and aging are two important epidemic factors for metabolic syndrome and many other health issues, which contribute to devastating diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, stroke and cancers. The brain plays a central role in controlling metabolic physiology in that it integrates information from other metabolic organs, sends regulatory projections and orchestrates the whole-body function.Emerging studies suggest that brain dysfunction in sensing various internal cues or processing external cues may have profound effects on metabolic and other physiological functions. This review highlights brain dysfunction linked to genetic mutations, sex, brain inflammation, microbiota, stress as causes for whole-body pathophysiology, arguing brain dysfunction as a root cause for the epidemic of aging and obesity-related disorders. We also speculate key issues that need to be addressed on how to reveal relevant brain dysfunction that underlines the development of these disorders and diseases in order to develop new treatment strategies against these health problems.Tiemin Liu Yong Xu Chun-Xia Yi Qingchun Tong Dongsheng Cai 2022Protein & Cell2022,13,6:2

The morphological characteristics of gully systems and watersheds in Dry-Hot Valley, SW China显示文摘Gully systems and watersheds are geomorphic units with clear boundaries that are relatively independent of basin landscapes and play an important role in natural geography. In order to explore the morphological characteristics of gully systems and watersheds in the Dry-Hot Valley [South West(SW) China], gullies are interpreted from online Google images with high resolution and watersheds are extracted from digital elevation model at a scale of 1:50,000. The results show that:(1) There are17,382 gullies(with a total area of 1141.66 km2) and 42 watersheds in the study area.(2) The average gully density of the study area(D) is 4.29 km/km2, gully frequency(F) is 14.39 gullies/km2, the branching ratio(B) is 5.13, the length ratio(L) is 3.12, and the coefficient of the main and tributary gullies(M) is 0.06. The degree of gully erosion isstrong to extremely strong, the main development intensity of gully erosion ranges from intense to moderate, and the type of gully system is tributary.(3) The watershed areas(A) are between 0.39 and 96.43 km2, the relief ratio(R) is from 0.10 to 0.19, the circularity ratio(C) is from 0.30 to0.83, the texture ratio(T) is from 0.82 to 39.35, and the dominant geomorphological texture type is fine.(4) There is a quantitative relationship between F and D:F = 0.624 D2(R =0.84) and T is closely related to D, F, M(R2[ 0.7). A,R and C are related to M(R2[ 0.5). The development of gully systems is the result of coupling effects between multiple factors. In this area, the degree of erosion and the condition of the main and tributary gullies can be controlled by the degree of topographic breakage in the watershed, which provides some theoretical basis for the evaluation of gully erosion by the latter. In addition, the scale, relief, and shape have a significant impact on the locations of the main and tributary gullies. For tributary gullies, attention should be paid to the interception and control of runoff and sediment in the small confluence branches in order to prevent gully expansion and head advance. These features can inform the development of targeted measures for the control of soil erosion.Zhen Xu Fachao Qin Bin Zhang Qingchun Deng Hui Liu Jie Jin Liangtao Shi 2018Acta Geochimica2018,37,6:1

Antioxidant and hepatoprotective effect of different extracts of Guizhencao (Herba Bidentis Bipinnatae) against liver injury in hyperlipidemia rats显示文摘OBJEVTIVE: To investigate the antioxidant and hepatoprotective properties of the different extracts Guizhencao (Herba Bidentis Bipinnatae) against liver injury in hyperlipidemia rats. METHODS: The rats were divided into 7 groups, with 10 rats in each. Rats were treated with high-fat diet for 18 weeks besides the normal control group, then rats in both normal control and model groups were received 5 mL/kg -1 · day -1 of saline and those in the positive control group with 2 mg/kg -1 · day -1 of lovastatin. Rats in the positive control group and different Guizhencao (Herba Bidentis Bipinnatae) extracts treatment groups (ethyl acetate extract group, n-hexane extract group, ethanol extract group, and aqueous extract group) were treated with corresponding extract at a concentration of 5 mL/kg -1 · day -1 . After 8 weeks treatment, all rats were sacrificed and total blood samples were collected. Histological analysis of liver was underdone by hematoxylin and eosin. The levels of serum ala-nine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), glouse (GLU), cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C) and high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol were measured according to standard procedure using auto-analyzer. The superoxide dismutase (SOD) and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels in liver were ananlyzed by procedure instruction. RESULTS: The histopathological analysis implied that the administration of Guizhencao (HerbaBidentis Bipinnatae) extracts resulted in hepatoprotective role compared with that of the model group. In addition, the high-fat diet caused a remarkable increase of ALT, AST, GLU, TC, TG, LDL-C and MDA levels. A decline in HDL-C and SOD concentrations and a reversal of effects were observed in different Guizhencao (Herba Bidentis Bipinnatae) extracts groups, especially in the aqueous extract and ethanol extract groups. CONCLUSION: The different extracts of Guizhencao (Herba Bidentis Bipinnatae) can play a protecting role against liver injury in hyperlipidemia rats maybe through decreasing ALT, AST, GLU, TC, TG, LDL-C and MDA levels and enhancing the liver anti-oxidative ability.Xichao Xia Yuhong Ma Xiankun Xing Chuanfeng Huang Ling Li Gaixia Gui Qingchun Liu Shipeng Xue 2013Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2013,33,4:1
