1Low-latency deep-reinforcement learning algorithm for ultrafast fiber lasers显示文摘The application of machine learning to the field of ultrafast photonics is becoming more and more extensive.In this paper,for the automatic mode-locked operation in a saturable absorber-based ultrafast fiber laser(UFL),a deep-reinforcement learning algorithm with low latency is proposed and implemented.The algorithm contains two actor neural networks providing strategies to modify the intracavity lasing polarization state and two critic neural networks evaluating the effect of the actor networks.With this algorithm,a stable fundamental modelocked(FML)state of the UFL is demonstrated.To guarantee its effectiveness and robustness,two experiments are put forward.As for effectiveness,one experiment verifies the performance of the trained network model by applying it to recover the mode-locked state with environmental vibrations,which mimics the condition that the UFL loses the mode-locked state quickly.As for robustness,the other experiment,at first,builds a database with UFL at different temperatures.It then trains the model and tests its performance.The results show that the average mode-locked recovery time of the trained network model is 1.948 s.As far as we know,it is 62.8%of the fastest average mode-locked recovery time in the existing work.At different temperatures,the trained network model can also recover the mode-locked state of the UFL in a short time.Remote algorithm training and automatic mode-locked control are proved in this work,laying the foundation for long-distance maintenance and centralized control of UFLs.QIUQUAN YAN QINGHUI DENG JUN ZHANG YING ZHU KE YIN TENG LI DAN WU TIAN JIANG 2021Photonics Research2021,9,8:7
2Spatial-temporal variations in net primary productivity in the Arctic from 2003 to 2016显示文摘The area of Arctic sea ice has dramatically decreased, and the length of the open water season has increased;these patterns have been observed by satellite remote sensing since the 1970 s. In this paper, we calculate the net primary productivity(NPP, calculated by carbon) from 2003 to 2016 based on sea ice concentration products,chlorophyll a(Chl a) concentration, photosynthetically active radiation(PAR), sea surface temperature(SST), and sunshine duration data. We then analyse the spatiotemporal changes in the Chl a concentration and NPP and further investigate the relations among NPP, the open water area, and the length of the open water season. The results indicate that(1) the Chl a concentration increased by 0.025 mg/m^3 per year;(2) the NPP increased by 4.29 mg/(m^2·d) per year, reaching a maximum of 525.74 mg/(m^2·d) in 2016;and(3) the Arctic open water area increased by 57.23×10^3 km^2/a, with a growth rate of 1.53 d/a for the length of the open water season. The annual NPP was significantly positively related to the open water area, the length of the open water season and the SST.The daily NPP was also found to have a lag correlation with the open water area, with a lag time of two months.With global warming, NPP has maintained an increasing trend, with the most significant increase occurring in the Kara Sea. 3The integration of transcriptomic and transgenic analyses reveals the involvement of the SA response pathway in the defense of chrysanthemum against the necrotrophic fungus Alternaria sp.显示文摘Chrysanthemum morifolium cv.‘Huaihuang’has ornamental,edible,medicinal,and tea product uses.However,its field growth,yield,and quality are negatively affected by black spot disease caused by Alternaria sp.(Strain:HQJH10092301;GenBank accession number:KF688111).In this study,we transcriptionally and transgenically characterized a new cultivar,‘Huaiju 2#’(Henan Traditional Chinese Medicine Plant Cultivar identification number:2016002),which was bred from‘Huaihuang’and shows resistance to Alternaria sp.Numerous‘Huaiju 2#’plants were inoculated with Alternaria sp.for three or five days.Metabolic analysis showed increases in both salicylic acid(SA)and jasmonic acid(JA)in infected plants compared to the control.Protein activity analysis also revealed a significant increase in defense enzyme activities in infected plants.RNA-Seq of plants infected for 3 or 5 days produced a total of 58.6 GB of clean reads.Among these reads,16,550 and 13,559 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were identified in Cm_3 dpi(sample from 3 days post-inoculation labeled as Cm_3 dpi)and Cm_5 dpi(sample from 5 days post-inoculation labeled as Cm_5 dpi),respectively,compared with their controls(Cm_0 d:a mixture samples from 0 d(before inoculation)and those treated with sterile distilled water at 3 dpi and 5 dpi).Gene annotation and cluster analysis of the DEGs revealed a variety of defense responses to Alternaria sp.infection,which were characterized by increases in resistance(R)proteins and the reactive oxygen species(ROS),Ca2+,mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK),and JA signaling pathways.In particular,SA signaling was highly responsive to Alternaria sp.infection.The qPCR analysis of 12 DEG candidates supported their differential expression characterized by using the RNA-Seq data.One candidate was CmNPR1(nonexpressor of pathogenesis-related gene 1),an important positive regulator of SA in systemic acquired resistance(SAR).Overexpression of CmNPR1 in‘Huaiju 2#’increased the resistance of transgenic plants to black spot.These findings indicate that the SA response pathway is likely involved in the defense of‘Huaiju 2#’against Alternaria sp.pathogens.Xiting Zhao Lingyu Song Liwei Jiang Yuting Zhu Qinghui Gao Dandan Wang Jing Xie Meng Lv Ping Liu Mingjun Li 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:3

8Towards understanding twinning behavior near fracture surface in magnesium显示文摘Deformation twin is one of the most important strain accommodation mechanisms and ultimately influences the mechanical properties for magnesium and its alloys.Especially,{1011}twin is usually thought to be closely related to the fracture or fatigue process of magnesium alloys.In the present work,the characteristics of microstructure near fracture region of deformed magnesium alloy have been investigated by a combination of electron back-scatter diffraction(EBSD)and transmission electron microscope(TEM).It has found that a large of deformation twins occur near fraction region,including{1012}and{1011}primary twins,{1011}-{1012}double twin and{1011}-{1012}-{1011}-{1012}quadruple twin.The actual boundaries of{1011}twins at atomic scale consist of{1011}coherent twinning boundaries(TBs)and parallel basal-pyramidal(BPy/Py B)planes.The tip of{1011}twin can even end up with BPy/Py B interfaces only.The experimental observations also reveal that when two{1011}twin variants sharing a common[1120]zone axis approach each other,the growth of one twin is usually hindered by the boundaries of the other twin.In addition,an apparent'crossing'phenomenon is also discovered when interaction of two{1011}twins takes place.According to these experimental observations,the possible underlying mechanisms behind such phenomena are proposed and discussed.These finding are expected to provide an insight into understanding the twinning behavior and the relationship between twin and fracture in magnesium and other materials with hexagonal structure.Hao Li Qinghui Zeng Pengfei Yang Qi Sun Jianmin Wang Jian Tu Minhao Zhu 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,36,8:0
9Histopathological Observation of Cynoglossus semilaevis Günther with Abdominal Dropsy in Industrial Aquaculture显示文摘Objective This study aimed to investigate and analyze the histopathological changes in various tissues and organs of Cynoglossus semilaevis Günther with abdominal dropsy. Method By HE staining,pathological tissues of main organs of C. semilaevis Günther with abdominal dropsy were observed. Result According to the results of histopathological observation,C. semilaevis Günther with abdominal dropsy exhibited a large amount of ascites in the abdominal cavity;small intestinal mucosal epithelial cells were denatured and necrotic,and shed into the enteric cavity,with submucosal vascular congestion; the liver and pancreas tissues were denatured and necrotic,and the morphology of most liver cells disappeared. However,there was no remarkable pathological change in the heart,spleen and other organs. 10Clinical significance of serum IgM and IgG levels in COVID-19 patients in Hubei Province,China显示文摘Background:There have been many studies about coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),but the clinical signifi-cance of quantitative serum severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus-2(SARS-CoV-2)-specific IgM and IgG levels of COVID-19 patients have not been exhaustively analyzed.We aimed to investigate the time profiles of these IgM/IgG levels in COVID-19 patients and their correlations with clinical features.Methods:A multicenter clinical study was conducted from February 20 to March 52020.It involved 179 COVID-19 patients(108 males and 71 females)from five hospitals in Huangshi in Hubei Province,China.To detect SARS-CoV-2-specific IgM/IgG,quantitative antibody assays(two-step indirect immunoassays with direct chemilu-minescence technology)based on the nucleocapsid protein(NP)and spike protein 1(S1)were used.For normally distributed data,means were compared using the t-test,��2-test,or exact probability method.For categorical data,medians were compared using Mann-Whitney U test.Results:The median age was 57(44-69)years(58[38-69]for males and 57[49-68]for females).The median duration of positive nucleic acid test was 22.32(17.34-27.43)days.The mortality rate was relatively low(3/179,1.68%).Serum SARS-CoV-2-specific IgG was detected around week 1 after illness onset,gradually increased until peaking in weeks 4 and 5,and then declined.Serum IgM peaked in weeks 2 and 3,then gradually declined and returned to its normal range by week 7 in all patients.Notably,children had milder respiratory symptoms with lower SARS-CoV-2-specific IgM/IgG levels.The duration of positive nucleic acid test in the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)group was 30.36(18.99-34.76)days,which was significantly longer than that in the non-COPD group(21.52[16.75-26.51]days;P=0.025).The peak serum SARS-CoV-2-specific IgG was sig-nificantly positively correlated with the duration of positive nucleic acid test.The incidence rate of severe and critical cases in the IgM hi group(using the median IgM level of 29.95 AU/mL as the cutofffor grouping)was about 38.0%(19/50),which was twice as much as that in the IgM lo group(18.4%;9/49).The patients with positive chest imaging and lymphocytopenia(<1×10^(9)/L)had a higher SARS-CoV-2-specific IgM level.Conclusions: Quantitative SARS-CoV-2-specific IgM and IgG levels are helpful for the diagnosis, severity classifi- cation, and management of COVID-19 patients, and they should be monitored in each stage of this disease.Zhenjiang Bai Qing Li Qinghui Chen Changming Niu Yu Wei Hanpeng Huang Wei Zhao Nian Chen Xin Yao Qiang Zhang Chuanyong Mu Jian Feng Chuanlong Zhu Zhuo Li Ming Ding Binhui Feng Chaochao Jin Xiang Lu Yi Yang Shuiyan Wu Xiaochen Shu Haibo Qiu YingZi Huang 2022Journal of Intensive Medicine2022,2,1:0
11Arctic sea ice volume export through the Fram Strait: variation and its effect factors显示文摘Arctic sea ice export is important for the redistribution of freshwater and sea ice mass.Here,we use the sea ice thickness,sea ice velocity,and sea ice concentration(SIC)to estimate the exported sea ice volume through the Fram Strait from 2011 to 2018.We further analyse the contributions of the sea ice thickness,velocity and concentration to sea ice volume export.Then,the relationships between atmospheric circulation indices(Arctic Oscillation(AO),North Atlantic Oscillation(NAO),and Arctic Dipole(AD))and the sea ice volume export are discussed.Finally,we analyse the impact of wind-driven oceanic circulation indices(Ekman transport(ET))on the sea ice volume export.The sea ice volume export rapidly increases in winter and decreases in spring.The exported sea ice volume in winter is likely to exceed that in spring in the future.Among sea ice thickness,velocity and SIC,the greatest contribution to sea ice export comes from the ice velocity.The exported sea ice volume through the zonal gate of the Fram Strait(which contributes 97%to the total sea ice volume export of the Fram Strait)is much higher than that through the meridional gate(3%)because the sea ice flowing out of the zonal gate has the characteristics of a high thickness(mainly thicker than 1 m),a high velocity(mainly faster than 0.06 m/s)and a high concentration(mainly higher than 80%).The AD and ET explain 53.86%and 38.37%of the variation in sea ice volume export,respectively.Haili Li Changqing Ke Qinghui Zhu Xiaoyi Shen 2023Acta Oceanologica Sinica2023,42,5:0
12A novel lytic phage potentially effective for phage therapy against Burkholderia pseudomallei in the tropics显示文摘Background:Burkholderia pseudomallei is a tropical pathogen that causes melioidosis.Its intrinsic drug-resistance is a leading cause of treatment failure,and the few available antibiotics require prolonged use to be effective.This study aimed to assess the clinical potential of B.pseudomallei phages isolated from Hainan,China.Methods:Burkholderia pseudomallei strain(HNBPoo1)was used as the isolation host,and phages were recovered from domestic environmental sources,which were submitted to the host range determination,lytic property assays,and stability tests.The best candidate was examined via the transmission electron microscope for classification.With its genome sequenced and analyzed,its protective efficacy against B.pseudomallei infection in A549 cells and Caenorhabditis elegans was evaluated,in which cell viability and survival rates were compared using the one-way ANOVA method and the log-rank test.Results:A phage able to lyse 24/25 clinical isolates was recovered.It was classified in the Podoviridae family and was found to be amenable to propagation.Under the optimal multiplicity of infection(MOl)of o.1,an eclipse period of around 20 min and a high titer(io12 PFU/ml)produced within 1 h were demonstrated.This phage was found stabile at a wide range of temperatures(24,37,40,50,and 60 C)and pH values(3-12).After being designated as vB_BpP_HN01,it was fully sequenced,and the 71,398 bp linear genome,containing 93 open reading frames and a tRNA-Asn,displayed a low sequence similarity with known viruses.Additionally,protective effects of applications of vB_BpP_HNo1(MOl=0.1 and MOl=1)alone or in combination with antibiotics were found to improve viability of infected cells(70.6±6.8%,85.8±5.7%,91.9±1.8%,and 96.8±1.8%,respectively).A significantly reduced mortality(10%)and a decreased pathogen load were demonstrated in infected C.elegans following the addition of this phage.Conclusions:As the frst B.pseudomallei phage was isolated in Hainan,China,phage vB_BpP_HNO1 was characterized by promising lytic property,stability,and effciency of bacterial elimination during the in vitro/vivo experiments.Therefore,we can conclude that it is a potential alternative agent for combating melioidosis.Yanshuang Wang Xuemiao Li David A.B.Dance Han Xia Chen Chen Nini Luo Anyang Li Yanmei Li Qiao Zhu Qinghui Sun Xingyong Wu Yingfei Zeng Lin Chen Shen Tian Qianfeng Xia 2022Infectious Diseases of Poverty2022,11,4:0

15Method for detecting soil total nitrogen contents based on pyrolysis and artificial olfaction显示文摘Soil nitrogen is an essential nutrient element for crop growth and development,and an important indicator of soil fertility characteristics.This study proposed a method based on pyrolysis and artificial olfaction to quickly and accurately determine the soil total nitrogen(STN)content.A muffle furnace was used to pyrolyze the soil samples,and ten different types of oxide semiconductor gas sensors were used to construct a sensor array to detect the soil samples’pyrolysis gas.The response curves of the sensors were tested at pyrolysis temperatures of 200℃,300℃,400℃,and 500℃ and at pyrolysis times of 1 min,3 min,5 min,and 10 min to obtain the optimal pyrolysis state of the soil samples.The optimal pyrolysis temperature was 400℃,and the pyrolysis time was 3 min.The response area,maximum value,average differential coefficient,variance value,maximum gradient value,average value,and 8th-second transient value of the sensor response curve were extracted to construct an artificial olfactory feature space of 121×10×7(121 soil samples,ten sensor numbers,seven extracted eigenvalues).Back-propagation neural network algorithm(BPNN),partial least squares regression algorithm(PLSR),and partial least squares regression combined with back-propagation neural network algorithm(PLSR-BPNN)were used to establish a prediction model of artificial olfactory feature space and STN content.Moreover,coefficient of determination(R2),root mean square error(RMSE),and the ratio of performance to deviation(RPD)were used as the performance indicators of the prediction results.The test results showed that the R2 of the PLSR,BPNN,and PLSR-BPNN models were 0.89033,0.81185,and 0.92186,and the RMSE values were 0.24297,0.37370,and 0.21781,and the RPD were 2.9964,1.9482,and 3.3426,respectively.The model established by the PLSR-BPNN algorithm has the highest R2 and RPD and the smallest RMSE,can achieve the accurate prediction of STN content,and therefore the model is rated as“excellent”.The detection method in this study achieves a low-cost,rapid,and accurate determination of STN content,and provides a new reference for the measurement of STN.Mingwei Li Qinghui Zhu He Liu Xiaomeng Xia Dongyan Huang 2022International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2022,15,3:0
16BDF Schemes in Stable Generalized Finite Element Methods for Parabolic Interface Problems with Moving Interfaces显示文摘There are several difficulties in generalized/extended finite element methods(GFEM/XFEM)for moving interface problems.First,the GFEM/XFEM may be unstable in a sense that condition numbers of system matrices could be much bigger than those of standard FEM.Second,they may not be robust in that the condition numbers increase rapidly as interface curves approach edges of meshes.Furthermore,time stepping schemes need carrying out carefully since both enrichment functions and enriched nodes in the GFEM/XFEM vary in time.This paper is devoted to proposing the stable and robust GFEM/XFEM with efficient time stepping schemes for the parabolic interface problems with moving interfaces.A so-called stable GFEM(SGFEM)developed for elliptical interface problems is extended to the parabolic interface problems for spatial discretizations;while backward difference formulae(BDF)are used for the time stepping.Numerical studies demonstrate that the SGFEM with the first and second order BDF(also known as backward Euler method and BDF2)is stable,robust,and achieves optimal convergence rates.Comparisons of the proposed SGFEM with various commonly-used GFEM/XFEM are made,which show advantages of the SGFEM over the other GFEM/XFEM in aspects of stability,robustness,and convergence.Pengfei Zhu Qinghui Zhang 2020Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2020,,7:0
