| 1 | Total mercury in wild fish in Guizhou reservoirs, China显示文摘The health hazard of mercury (Hg) compounds is internationally recognized, and the main pathways for methylmercury (MeHg) intake in humans are through consumption of food, especially fish. Given the large releases of Hg to the environment in China, combined with the fast development of hydropower, this issue deserves attention. Provided similar mobilization pathways of Hg in China as seen in reservoirs in North America and Europe one should expect increased Hg contamination in relation to future hydropower reservoir construction in this country. This study presents total Hg (THg) concentrations in wild fish from six Guizhou reservoirs, China. The THg concentrations in fish were generally low despite high background levels in the bedrock and depositions from local point sources. The over all mean ± SD concentration of THg was (0.066 ± 0.078) μg/g (n = 235). After adjusting for among-reservoir variation in THg, there were significant differences in THg among functional groups of the fish, assumed to re?ect trophic levels. Predicted THg- concentration ratios, retrieved from a mixed linear model, between the functional groups were 9:4:4:1 for carnivorous, omnivorous, planktivorous and herbivorous fish. This result indicated that MeHg accumulation may prevail even under circumstances with short food chains as in this Chinese water system. No fish exceeded recommended maximum THg limit for human consumption set by World Health Organization and the Standardization Administration of China (0.5 μg/g fish wet weight (ww)). | 2 | Comparison of the oncological,perioperative and functional outcomes of partial nephrectomy versus radical nephrectomy for clinical T1b renal cell carcinoma:A systematic review and metaanalysis of retrospective studies显示文摘Objective:To conduct a meta-analysis assessing the perioperative,functional and oncological outcomes of partial nephrectomy(PN)and radical nephrectomy(RN)for T1b tumours.The primary endpoints were the oncological outcomes.The secondary endpoints were the perioperative and functional outcomes.Methods:A systematic literature review was performed by searching multiple databases through February 2019 to identify eligible comparative studies according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-analysis statement.Identified reports were assessed according to the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale for nonrandomized controlled trials.Results:Overall,13 retrospective cohort studies were included in the analysis.Patients undergoing PN were younger(weighted mean difference[WMD]3.49 years,95%confidence interval[CI]5.16 to1.82;p<0.0001)and had smaller masses(WMD0.45 cm,95%CI0.59 to0.31;p<0.0001).There were no differences in the oncological outcome,which was demonstrated by progression-free survival(hazard ratio[HR]0.70;pZ0.22),cancerspecific mortality(HR 0.91;pZ0.57)and all-cause mortality(HR 1.01;pZ0.96).The two procedures were similar in estimated blood loss(WMD16.47 mL;pZ0.53)and postoperative complications(risk ratio[RR]1.32;pZ0.10),and PN provided better renal function preservation and was related to a lower likelihood of chronic kidney disease onset(RR 0.38;pZ0.006).Conclusion:PN is an effective treatment for T1b tumours because it offers similar surgical morbidity,equivalent cancer control,and better renal preservation compared to RN. | Yucong Zhang Gongwei Long Haojie Shang Beichen Ding Guoliang Sun Wei Ouyang Man Liu Yuan Chen Heng Li Hua Xu Zhangqun Ye | 2021 | Asian Journal of Urology2021,8,1: | 4 |
| 3 | Combined detection and subclass characteristics analysis of CTCs and CTECs by SE-iFISH in ovarian cancer显示文摘Objective:Hematogenous metastasis is essential for the progression of ovarian cancer(OC),and circulating tumor cells(CTCs)are part of the metastatic cascade.However,the detection rate of CTC is low due to the use of less sensitive detection methods.Therefore,this study aimed to detect CTCs and circulating tumorigenic endothelial cells(CTECs)in patients with OC using subtraction enrichment and immunostaining and fluorescence in situ hybridization(SE-iFISH).Methods:We enrolled a total of 56 subjects,including 20 OC patients and 36 ovarian benign tumor patients.CTCs and CTECs were captured by subtraction enrichment(SE)and counted and classified according to immunofluorescence staining of tumor markers(TMs)carbohydrate antigen 125(CA125)and human epididymis protein 4(HE4)combined with fluorescence in situ hybridization(iFISH)of chromosome 8(Chr8)aneuploidy.The diagnostic value and subtype characteristics of CTCs and CTECs were investigated.Results:The detection rate of CTCs by SE-iFISH was high.Compared with CA125 and HE4,Chr8 aneuploidy was the major identification feature of CTC.CTC counts in OC were statistically higher than those in benign groups.CTC and CTEC with≥pentaploidy were detected in both groups,illustrating the poor diagnostic value of CTC or CTEC.Distributions of triploid and tetraploid CTC subtypes were significantly different,and combined detection of triploid and tetraploid CTCs showed the best diagnostic value.In contrast,the distribution of CTECs in the OC and benign groups had no statistically significant difference.Small CTCs accounted for over 1/3 of the total CTC count.We also found that small CTCs and CTECs primarily comprised triploid cells,while large CTCs and CTECs mainly comprised pentaploidy and beyond.Conclusions:The application of SE-iFISH offered a more comprehensive understanding of heterogeneous CTCs and CTECs in OC.Analysis of subclass characteristics of the CTCs and CTECs according to Chr8 aneuploidy and cell size may broaden their potential clinical utility and deepen mechanistic studies in OC. | Hongyan Cheng Shang Wang Wenqing Luan Xue Ye Sha Dou Zhijian Tang Honglan Zhu Peter Ping Lin Yi Li Heng Cui Xiaohong Chang | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2021,33,2: | 3 |

| 5 | Two-plane painting injection scheme for BRing of HIAF显示文摘The high-intensity heavy-ion accelerator facility(HIAF)is under design at the Institute of Modern Physics(IMP)and will provide an intense ion beam for nuclear physics,atomic mass measurement research,and other applications.As the main ring of HIAF,the BRing accumulates beams to high intensity and accelerates them to high energy.To achieve high intensities up to 1×10^(11)(^(238)U^(34+)),the injection gain of the BRing must be as high as 88.However,multiple multiturn injection supported by the electron cooling system takes a long time,causing substantial beam loss under a strong space charge effect.Hence,a two-plane painting injection scheme is proposed for beam accumulation in the BRing.This scheme uses a tilted injection septum and horizontal and vertical bump magnets to paint the beam into horizontal and vertical phase space simultaneously.In this paper,the two-plane painting injection parameters are optimized,and the resulting injection process is simulated using the Objective Ring Beam Injection and Tracking(ORBIT)code.An injection gain of up to 110.3 with a loss rate of 2:3%is achieved,meeting the requirements of BRing. | Guo-Feng Qu Wei-Ping Chai Jia-Wen Xia Jian-Cheng Yang Heng Du Zhong-Shan Li Wen-Wen Ge Wen-Heng Zheng Peng Shang | 2017 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2017,28,8: | 3 |

In order to study the effect of σ2, a series of samples were prepared with constant value of x and rA. The measurement of resistivity versus temperature dependence under magnetic field (0 and 5 T) indicates that the insulator-metal transition temperature moves towards the low temperature region with increasing σ2. The magnetoresistance of La 0.53 Sm 0.17 Sr 0.3 MnO3 obtains its maximum at room temperature. | 16 | Impact of Real-Time Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound-Guided Radiofrequency Ablation on Progression-Free Survival in Patients with Hepatocellular Carcinoma:a Retrospective Case-Control Study显示文摘Objective To compare the value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS)and conventional ultrasound(US)during radiofrequency ablation(RFA)for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)≥3.0 cm in diameter.Methods A total of 149 HCC patients treated with RFA guided by either CEUS or conventional US between January 2012 and June 2013 were retrospectively analyzed.Patients were divided into different groups based on the type of ultrasound guidance(CEUS or conventional US)and tumor volume(diameter<3.0 or≥3.0 cm).The progressionfree survival(PFS)and complete ablation rates were compared between groups,and risk factors for the PFS were investigated.Results Seventy four patients received CEUS-guided RFA,and conventional US was performed in 75 patients.Among patients with a tumor<3.0 cm,the PFS and complete ablation rates were similar.However,for patients with a tumor≥3.0 cm,those treated with CEUS had a significantly longer PFS(17.3 vs.3.1 months,HR=2.73;95%CI,1.28~5.81;P=0.007)and higher complete ablation rates at 6-and 12-month post-treatment(87.5%vs.57.7%,P=0.042;75.0%vs.38.5%,P=0.009,respectively)than those treated with conventional US-guided RFA.The type of treatment(P=0.024)and maximum tumour size(P=0.011)were both found to be independent factors associated with the PFS.Conclusion Compared with conventional US,CEUS is more effective for guiding RFA in patients with HCC≥3.0 cm.CEUS-guided RFA could target HCC more accurately,and its ability to immediately detect any residual tumor during RFA might contribute to an increase in complete ablation rates and reduced progression. | Xiao Shang Guang Yang Heng Jun Zhao Ming Zhang Guo Zhen Cui Jiu Wei Cui Nan Ya Wang | 2020 | Journal of Nutritional Oncology2020,5,3: | 0 |
