| 1 | Treatment strategies using adefovir dipivoxil for individuals with lamivudine-resistant chronic hepatitis B显示文摘AIM:To investigate retrospectively the long-term efficacy of various treatment strategies using adefovir dipivoxil(adefovir) in patients with lamivudine-resistant chronic hepatitis B.METHODS:We included 154 consecutive patients in two treatment groups:the 'add-on' group(n = 79),in which adefovir was added to ongoing lamivudine treatment due to lamivudine resistance,and the 'switch/combination' group(n = 75),in which lamivudine was first switched to adefovir and then re-added later as needed.The 'switch/combination' group was then divided into two subgroups depending on whether participants followed(group A,n = 30) or violated(group B,n = 45) a proposed treatment strategy that determined whether to add lamivudine based on the serum hepatitis B virus(HBV) DNA levels(< 60 IU/mL or not) after 6 mo of treatment(roadmap concept).RESULTS:The cumulative probability of virologic response(HBV DNA < 60 IU/mL) was higher in group A than in the 'add-on' group and in group B(P < 0.001).In contrast,the cumulative probability of virologic breakthrough was lower in the 'add-on' group than in group B(P = 0.002).Furthermore,the risk of virologic breakthrough in the multivariate analysis was significantly lower in the 'add-on' group than in group A(hazard ratio = 0.096;95%CI,0.015-0.629;P = 0.015).CONCLUSION:The selective combination of adefovir with lamivudine based upon early treatment responses increased the odds of virologic breakthrough relative to the use of uniform combination therapy from the beginning of treatment. | Tae Jung Yun Jin Yong Jung Chang Ha Kim Soon Ho Um Hyonggin An Yeon Seok Seo Jin Dong Kim Hyung Joon Yim Bora Keum Yong Sik Kim Yoon Tae Jeen Hong Sik Lee Hoon Jai Chun Chang Duck Kim Ho Sang Ryu | 2012 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2012,18,47: | 19 |

| 11 | Genetic variation of the PSCA gene(rs2294008) is not associated with the risk of prostate cancer显示文摘Prostate stem cell antigen(PSCA) is a cell-membrane glycoprotein consisting of 123 amino acids and highly expressed in the prostate,but there have been few reports on the relationship between rs2294008 of PSCA and prostate cancer in the literature.Therefore,we evaluated the association between rs2294008 and the risk of prostate cancer.A total of 240 prostate cancer patients and 306 controls(patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia) were enrolled.Genotype analysis of rs2294008 of PSCA was performed using PCR.Logistic regression analysis was performed according to the genotype of PSCA rs2294008.We found that CT and TT genotypes were associated with an insignificant risk of prostate cancer compared with the CC genotype(P= 0.627 and 0.397,respectively).In addition,there was no significant difference in rs2294008 according to clinicopathological parameters,such as age,Gleason score,prostate-specific antigen(PSA),stage,and metastasis in prostate cancer(P > 0.05 for each).Age,Gleason score,PSA,pathologic stage,and metastasis did not modify the association between PSCA and the risk of prostate cancer(each P > 0.05 for each).Taken together,the genetic polymorphism of PSCA rs2294008 was not associated with the risk of prostate cancer.Our results suggest that rs2294008 may not play a role in prostate carcinogenesis. | II-Seok Lee Sung Pil Seo Yun Sok Ha Pildu Jeong Ho Won Kang Won Tae Kim Yong-June Kim Seok Joong Yun Sang Cheol Lee Wun-Jae Kim | 2017 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2017,31,3: | 0 |
| 12 | Critical factors to inhibit water-splitting side reaction in carbon-based electrode materials for zinc metal anodes显示文摘Zinc metal anodes(ZMA)have high theoretical capacities(820 mAh g−1 and 5855 mAh cm−3)and redox potential(−0.76 V vs.standard hydrogen electrode),similar to the electrochemical voltage window of the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)in a mild acidic electrolyte system,facilitating aqueous zinc batteries competitive in next-generation energy storage devices.However,the HER and byproduct formation effectuated by water-splitting deteriorate the electrochemical performance of ZMA,limiting their application.In this study,a key factor in promoting the HER in carbon-based electrode materials(CEMs),which can provide a larger active surface area and guide uniform zinc metal deposition,was investigated using a series of threedimensional structured templating carbon electrodes(3D-TCEs)with different local graphitic orderings,pore structures,and surface properties.The ultramicropores of CEMs are the determining critical factors in initiating HER and clogging active surfaces by Zn(OH)2 byproduct formation,through a systematic comparative study based on the 3D-TCE series samples.When the 3D-TCEs had a proper graphitic structure with few ultramicropores,they showed highly stable cycling performances over 2000 cycles with average Coulombic efficiencies of≥99%.These results suggest that a well-designed CEM can lead to high-performance ZMA in aqueous zinc batteries. | Dong Hyuk Kang Eunji Lee Beom Sik Youn Son Ha Jong Chan Hyun Juhee Yoon Dawon Jang Kyoung Sun Kim Hyungsub Kim Sang Moon Lee Sungho Lee Hyoung-Joon Jin Hyung-Kyu Lim Young Soo Yun | 2022 | Carbon Energy2022,4,6: | 0 |
