5Covalent organic framework nanomedicines:Biocompatibility for advanced nanocarriers and cancer theranostics applications显示文摘Nanomedicines for drug delivery and imaging-guided cancer therapy is a rapidly growing research area.The unique properties of nanomedicines have a massive potential in solving longstanding challenges of existing cancer drugs,such as poor localization at the tumor site,high drug doses and toxicity,recurrence,and poor immune response.However,inadequate biocompatibility restricts their potential in clinical translation.Therefore,advanced nanomaterials with high biocompat-ibility and enhanced therapeutic efficiency are highly desired to fast-track the clinical translation of nanomedicines.Intrinsic properties of nanoscale covalent organic frameworks(nCOFs),such as suitable size,modular pore geometry and porosity,and straightforward post-synthetic modification via simple organic transformations,make them incredibly attractive for future nanomedicines.The ability of COFs to disintegrate in a slightly acidic tumor microenvironment also gives them a competitive advantage in targeted delivery.This review summarizes recently published applications of COFs in drug delivery,photo-immuno therapy,sonodynamic therapy,photothermal therapy,chemotherapy,pyroptosis,and combination therapy.Herein we mainly focused on modifications of COFs to enhance their biocompatibility,efficacy and potential clinical translation.This review will provide the fundamental knowledge in designing biocompatible nCOFs-based nano-medicines and will help in the rapid development of cancer drug carriers and theranostics.Nem Singh Jungryun Kim Jaewon Kim Kyungwoo Lee Zehra Zunbul Injun Lee Eunji Kim Sung-Gil Chi Jong Seung Kim 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,3:1

7Critical factors to inhibit water-splitting side reaction in carbon-based electrode materials for zinc metal anodes显示文摘Zinc metal anodes(ZMA)have high theoretical capacities(820 mAh g−1 and 5855 mAh cm−3)and redox potential(−0.76 V vs.standard hydrogen electrode),similar to the electrochemical voltage window of the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)in a mild acidic electrolyte system,facilitating aqueous zinc batteries competitive in next-generation energy storage devices.However,the HER and byproduct formation effectuated by water-splitting deteriorate the electrochemical performance of ZMA,limiting their application.In this study,a key factor in promoting the HER in carbon-based electrode materials(CEMs),which can provide a larger active surface area and guide uniform zinc metal deposition,was investigated using a series of threedimensional structured templating carbon electrodes(3D-TCEs)with different local graphitic orderings,pore structures,and surface properties.The ultramicropores of CEMs are the determining critical factors in initiating HER and clogging active surfaces by Zn(OH)2 byproduct formation,through a systematic comparative study based on the 3D-TCE series samples.When the 3D-TCEs had a proper graphitic structure with few ultramicropores,they showed highly stable cycling performances over 2000 cycles with average Coulombic efficiencies of≥99%.These results suggest that a well-designed CEM can lead to high-performance ZMA in aqueous zinc batteries.Dong Hyuk Kang Eunji Lee Beom Sik Youn Son Ha Jong Chan Hyun Juhee Yoon Dawon Jang Kyoung Sun Kim Hyungsub Kim Sang Moon Lee Sungho Lee Hyoung-Joon Jin Hyung-Kyu Lim Young Soo Yun 2022Carbon Energy2022,4,6:0

9Occurrence of anionic redox with absence of full oxidation to Ru^(5+) in high-energy P2-type layered oxide cathode显示文摘The anionic redox has been widely studied in layered-oxide-cathodes in attempts to achieve highenergy-density for Na-ion batteries(NIBs).It is known that an oxidation state of Mn^(4+) or Ru^(5+) is essential for the anionic reaction of O^(2-)/O~-to occur during Na^(+) de/intercalation.However,here,we report that the anionic redox can occur in Ru-based layered-oxide-cathodes before full oxidation of Ru^(4+)/Ru^(5+).Combining studies using first-principles calculation and experimental techniques reveals that further Na^(+) deintercalation from P2-Na_(0.33)[Mg_(0.33)Ru_(0.67)]O_(2) is based on anionic oxidation after 0.33 mol Na^(+) deintercalation from P2-Na_(0.67)[Mg_(0.33)Ru_(0.67)]O_(2) with cationic oxidation of Ru^(4+)/Ru^(4.5+).Especially,it is revealed that the only oxygen neighboring 2Mg/1 Ru can participate in the anionic redox during Na^(+) de/intercalation,which implies that the Na-O-Mg arrangement in the P2-Na_(0.33)[M9_(0.33)Ru_(0.67)]O_(2) structure can dramatically lower the thermodynamic stability of the anionic redox than that of cationic redox.Through the O anionic and Ru cationic reaction,P2-Na_(0.67)[Mg_(0.33)Ru_(0.67)]O_(2) exhibits not only a large specific capacity of~172 mA h g^(-1) but also excellent power-capability via facile Na^(+) diffusion and reversible structural change during charge/discharge.These findings suggest a novel strategy that can increase the activity of anionic redox by modulating the local environment around oxygen to develop high-energy-density cathode materials for NIBs.Jinho Ahn Hyunyoung Park Wonseok Ko Yongseok Lee Jungmin Kang Seokjin Lee Sangyeop Lee Eunji Sim Kyuwook Ihm Jihyun Hong Jung-Keun Yoo Kyojin Ku Jongsoon Kim 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,9:0
10Vaccinia-related kinase 2 variants differentially affect breast cancer growth by regulating kinase activity显示文摘Genetic information is transcribed from genomic DNA to mRNA,which is then translated into threedimensional proteins.mRNAs can undergo various post-transcriptional modifications,including RNA editing that alters mRNA sequences,ultimately affecting protein function.In this study,RNA editing was identified at the 499th base(c.499)of human vaccinia-related kinase 2(VRK2).This RNA editing changes the amino acid in the catalytic domain of VRK2 from isoleucine(with adenine base)to valine(with guanine base).Isoleucine-containing VRK2 has higher kinase activity than the valine-containing VRK2,which leads to an increase in tumor cell proliferation.Earlier we reported that VRK2 directly interacts with dystrobrevin-binding protein(dysbindin)and results in reducing its stability.Herein,we demonstrate that isoleucine-containing VRK2 decreases the level of dysbindin than valinecontaining VRK2.Dysbindin interacts with cyclin D and thereby regulates its expression and function.The reduction in the level of dysbindin by isoleucine-containing VRK2 further enhances the cyclin D expression,resulting in increased tumor growth and reduction in survival rates.It has also been observed that in patient samples,VRK2 level was elevated in breast cancer tissue compared to normal breast tissue.Additionally,the isoleucine form of VRK2 exhibited a greater increase in breast cancer tissue.Therefore,it is concluded that VRK2,especially dependent on the 167th variant amino acid,can be one of the indexes of tumor progression and proliferation.SEUNG-HEE GWAK JUHYUN LEE EUNJI OH DOHYUN LEE WONSHIK HAN JONGMIN KIM KYONG-TAI KIM 2024Oncology Research2024,32,2:0
11肝细胞癌患者TACE术后血清GP73、FOXP3表达及其与疗效的关系显示文摘目的探讨肝细胞癌(HCC)患者经肝动脉化疗栓塞(TACE)治疗后血清高尔基体蛋白73(GP73)、叉头状螺旋转录因子(FOXP3)表达变化及其与疗效的关系。方法选取2019年5月至2021年8月在同济医学院附属同济医院接受TACE治疗的HCC患者198例。按照临床疗效判定标准将患者分为有效组(n=122)、无效组(n=76),对比两组患者治疗后GP73及FOXP3水平;分析GP73、FOXP3表达与临床疗效的关系;根据预后结局分为预后良好组(n=104)及预后不良组(n=94)。多元logistic分析影响预后的危险因素;ROC评估GP73、FOXP3联合检测对HCC患者的预后评估效能。结果有效组患者TACE治疗后的GP73、FOXP3表达显著低于无效组分别为158.67±69.53比179.73±61.35、0.65±0.18比0.77±0.20(P<0.05)。Spearman相关系数显示GP73、FOXP3表达与临床疗效之间均呈显著负相关(r=-0.662、-0.688,P<0.05);经Logistic回归结果显示,Child-Pugh分级、GP73、FOXP3是影响HCC患者预后的危险因素。联合GP73、FOXP3检测的曲线下面积为0.834,显著高于单一检测的0.653、0.597(Z=4.415、5.660,均P<0.01),敏感度为87.23%、特异度为85.58%。结论血清GP73、FOXP3表达与HCC患者TACE的疗效及预后均具有重要关联,联合GP73、FOXP3检测可提高对HCC患者预后的评估。LEE EUNJI 刘博 袁响林 2023肝脏2023,28,11:0
12Hierarchical Microphase Behaviors of Chiral Block Copolymers under Kinetic and Thermodynamic Control显示文摘Chiral superstructures in confined spaces are subtly affected by the complex interplay among various noncovalent interactions,details of which are still in adequately understood.Herein,we report the threedimensional confined assembly of the chiral block copolymers of polystyrene-block-poly(D-lactide)andits enantiomer in emulsion droplets and demonstrate unprecedented successive microphase transformations from single helices to double helices with inverted helicity,and then to twisted cylinders in the constructedcolloidal particles.Theabovehierarchical structural transformations of chiral microphases are kinetically dependent and can further transform into thermodynamically stable achiral cylinders with saddle-shaped topology upon solvent annealing.The formation and subsequent structural transformations as well as thefinal degeneration of chiral architectures provide guidance to understand the chiral evolution at different length scales within spherical confined space and to fabricate biomimetic systems.Zhen Geng Huiying Wang Seon-Mi Jin Xinghao Yan Min Ren Bijin Xiong Ke Wang Renhua Deng Senbin Chen Eunji Lee Lianbin Zhang Jintao Zhu Zhenzhong Yang 2022CCS Chemistry2022,4,7:0
