Climate change in China in the 21st century as simulated by a high resolution regional climate model显示文摘Climate change in the 21st century over China is simulated using the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) Regional Climate Model version 3 (RegCM3). The model is one-way nested within the global model CCSR/NIES/FRCGC MIROC3.2_hires (Center for Climate System Research/National Institute for Environmental Studies/Frontier Research Center for Global Change/Model for Interdisciplinary Research on Climate). A 150-year (1951-2100) transient simulation is conducted at 25 km grid spacing, under the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Special Report on Emissions Scenarios (IPCC SRES) A1B scenario. Simulations of present climate conditions in China by RegCM3 are compared against observations to assess model performance. Results show that RegCM3 reproduces the observed spatial structure of surface air temperature and precipitation well. Changes in mean temperature and precipitation in December-January-February (DJF) and June-July-August (JJA) during the middle and end of the 21st century are analyzed. Significant future warming is simulated by RegCM3. This warming becomes greater with time, and increased warming is simulated at high latitude and high altitude (Tibetan Plateau) areas. In the middle of the 21st century in DJF, a general increase of precipitation is found in most areas, except over the Tibetan Plateau. Precipitation changes in JJA show an increase over northwest China and a decrease over the Tibetan Plateau. There is a mixture of positive and negative changes in eastern China. The change pattern at the end of the century is generally consistent with that in mid century, except in some small areas, and the magnitude of change is usually larger. In addition, the simulation is compared with a previous simulation of the RegCM3 driven by a different global model, to address uncertainties of the projected climate change in China.GAO XueJie SHI Ying ZHANG DongFeng GIORGI Filippo 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,10:61
Performance of RegCM4 over Major River Basins in China显示文摘A long-term simulation for the period 1990–2010 is conducted with the latest version of the International Centre for Theoretical Physics' Regional Climate Model(RegCM4), driven by ERA-Interim boundary conditions at a grid spacing of 25 km. The Community Land Model(CLM) is used to describe land surface processes, with updates in the surface parameters, including the land cover and surface emissivity. The simulation is compared against observations to evaluate the model performance in reproducing the present day climatology and interannual variability over the 10 main river basins in China, with focus on surface air temperature and precipitation. Temperature and precipitation from the ERA-Interim reanalysis are also considered in the model assessment. Results show that the model reproduces the present day climatology over China and its main river basins, with better performances in June–July–August compared to December–January–February(DJF).In DJF, we find a warm bias at high latitudes, underestimated precipitation in the south, and overestimated precipitation in the north. The model in general captures the observed interannual variability, with greater skill for temperature. We also find an underestimation of heavy precipitation events in eastern China, and an underestimation of consecutive dry days in northern China and the Tibetan Plateau. Similar biases for both mean climatology and extremes are found in the ERA-Interim reanalysis, indicating the difficulties for climate models in simulating extreme monsoon climate events over East Asia.Xuejie GAO Ying SHI Zhenyu HAN Meili WANG Jia WU Dongfeng ZHANG Ying XU Filippo GIORGI 2017Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2017,34,4:33
Expression of calreticulin is associated with infiltration of T-cells in stage ⅢB colon cancer显示文摘AIM: To investigate the correlation between expression of calreticulin and infiltration of lymphocytes in stage ⅢB colon cancer. METHODS: Sixty-eight pathologically-confirmed speci-mens were obtained from stage ⅢB (T3N1M0) colon cancer patients who underwent radical resection between January 1999 and May 2002 at the Cancer Center of Sun Yat-Sen University, Guangzhou, China. Immuno-histochemical analysis was performed to show infiltration of lymphocytes and expression of calreticulin in colon cancer. Association between calreticulin expression, infiltration of lymphocytes, and 5-year survival rate of patients was assessed. RESULTS: The expression level of calreticulin was lower in cancer nest than in its adjacent normal epithelium since 61.8% (42/68) of the samples were stained with calreticulin in colon cancer. The expression of calreticulin in colon cancer was associated with the infi ltration of CD45RO+ cells rather than with that of CD3+ cells. In addition, the stronger expression of calreticulin and the higher infiltration of CD3+ and CD45RO+ cells in colon cancer were associated with the higher 5-year survival rate of patients. CONCLUSION: Expression of calreticulin is associated with infiltration of T-cells, which implies that a low expression level of molecular marker may represent a new mechanism underlying immune escape in colon cancer.Rui-Qing Peng, Ya Ding, Xing Zhang, Yi-Xin Zeng, Xiao- Shi Zhang, State Key Laboratory of Oncology in South China, Biotherapy Center, Cancer Center, Sun Yat-Sen University, 651 Dongfeng R E, Guangzhou 510060, Guangdong Province, China Ying-Bo Chen, Zhi-Wei Zhou, State Key Laboratory of Oncology in South China, Department of Gastric and Pancreatic Oncology, Cancer Center, Sun Yat-Sen University, 651 Dongfeng R E, Guangzhou 510060, Guangdong Province, China Rong Zhang, State Key Laboratory of Oncology in South China, Department of Endoscopy, Cancer Center, Sun Yat-Sen University, 651 Dongfeng R E, Guangzhou 510060, Guangdong Province, China Xing-Juan Yu, Yi-Xin Zeng, State Key Laboratory of Oncology in South China, Department of Experimental Research, Cancer Center, Sun Yat-Sen University, 651 Dongfeng R E, Guangzhou 510060, Guangdong Province, China 2010World Journal of Gastroenterology2010,16,19:16
Fault diagnosis for distillation process based on CNN–DAE显示文摘Distillation is the most widely used operation for liquid mixture separation in the chemical industry. It is of great importance to detect and diagnose faults in distillation process. Due to the strong feedback and coupling of processes in a distillation column, it is difficult to use deep auto-encoders(DAEs) alone to achieve good results in detecting and diagnosing faults, in terms of accuracy and efficiency. This paper proposes a hybrid fault-diagnosis model based on convolutional neural networks(CNNs) and DAEs, by integrating the powerful capability of CNN in feature extraction and of DAE in classification. A case study was carried out with the distillation process of depropanization. It is shown that the proposed hybrid model is of good performance compared to other models, in terms of the accuracy of fault detection in such a process. Also, with the increase of structural layers of the CNN–DAE model, the diagnostic accuracy will be improved, with an optimal accuracy of 92.2%.Chuankun Li Dongfeng Zhao Shanjun Mu Weihua Zhang Ning Shi Lening Li 2019Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2019,27,3:12
Optimizing Low-Temperature Heat Recovery in a Refinery Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit Based on Pinch Analysis显示文摘In this paper, the research was focused on optimizing low-temperature heat recovery to adopt multi-effect distillation (MED) in desalination by pinch technology. And further analysis indicated that phase changes occurred during the heat recovery process. In such case, the feed stream was divided into two streams: the liquid feed stream and the gaseous feed stream. Through calculation, the optimal ΔTmin was established at 26 ℃, and the total cost of heat exchange process was only $1.098×106. By using the Problem Table Algorithm for pinch analysis, the temperature of the hot and the cold steams was 119 ℃ and 93 ℃, respectively. At a temperature higher than 119 ℃, all heat of the hot stream could not be cooled by the condenser, and the minimum heat load of utility (QH,min) was 440457.64 kW; and at a temperature below 93 ℃, all heat of the cold stream could not be provided by the heater, and the minimum cold load of utility (QC,min) was 1965993.85 kW. Finally, the synthesis of heat exchanger network was established through integrating two heat exchanger networks.Zhao Dongfeng Xue Jianliang Li Shi Shen Chanchan 2012China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2012,14,2:5
A Rice NBS-ARC Gene Conferring Quantitative Resistance to Bacterial Blight Is Regulated by a Pathogen Effector-Inducible miRNA显示文摘The bacterium Xanthomonas oryzae pv.Oryzae(Xoo)causes blight in rice worldwide, resulting in signifi-cant crop loss. However,no gene underlying a quantitative trait locus(QTL)for resistance against Xoo has been cloned yet. Here,we report the map-based cloning of a QTL,in which the NBS8R gene confers quantitative resistance to Xoo.NBS8R encodes an NB-ARC protein, which is involved in pathogen/microbe-associated molecular pattern-triggered immunity and whose expression is regulated by non-TAL effector XopQ-inducible Osa-miR1876 through DNA methylation.Sequence analysis of NBS8R in wild rice species and rice cultivars suggests that the Osa-miR1876 binding sites in the 5'UTR of NBS8R are inserted by chance and have undergone variations with Osa-miR1876 throughout evolution. The inter-action between NBS8R and XopQ-inducible Osa-miR1876 is partially in keeping with the zigzag model, revealing that quantitative genes may also follow this model to control the innate immune response or basal disease resistance, and may prove valuable in utilizing the existing landraces that harbor the NBS8R gene but with no Osa-miR1876 binding site in rice breeding for bacterial blight resistance.Guanghuai Jiang Dongfeng Liu Dedong Yin Zhuangzhi Zhou Yue Shi Chunrong Li Lihuana Zhu and Wenxue Zhai 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,12:4

Research and Applications of Semi-solid Processing显示文摘It has been more than ten years since the semi-solid processing (SSP) technique was put into commercial applications in the world. A lot of work on semi-solid metals (SSM) including their preparation, reheating and semi-solid forming has been done in China. In order to produce the high quality die-casting, a novel innovation that modifies the present machines based on the SSP technique was proposed. Semi-solid die-casting on modified casting machines can manufacture parts with more excellent quality than those produced by squeeze casting. It was found that the defects such as 'elephant foot' and 'periphery liquid metal loss' during reheating could be avoided through controlling the non-de- ndritic sthectgre of billets and optimizing the reheating process. The processing parameters and mold designs of semi-so- lid die-casting are fairly different from those of liquid die-casting.Kui Zhang, Jun Xu, Likai Shi, Daijin Cui, Yuxin Zheng (General Research Institute for Nonferrous Metals, Beijing 100088, China Dongfeng Motor Corp., Shiyan 442001, China) 2001Rare Metals2001,20,2:2

Selecting Suitable Heat Source in Refinery for Multi-effect Distillation Based on Grey System Theory显示文摘For dealing with high-salinity wastewater in the refinery, the high cost of driving heat source is the disadvantage of multi-effect distillation (MED) so it is of great importance to evaluate the performance of low-temperature heat source for conducting MED and select the optimal temperature for it. Both the MED and the low-temperature heat sources studied in this paper were from a typical refinery located in northwestern China. Besides, a new methodology to evaluate heat sources as the optimal candidate was proposed for MED based on the grey system theory. Five process units, which included 18 fluids of the refinery, were named as the evaluation projects. Three factors, which included safety effects, total costs and characteristics of low-temperature heat sources were determined as the evaluation indexes, the values of which were established through the analyses. The results obtained through the grey correlation analyses have revealed that the grey correlation degrees of these units were 0.661(AVDU), 0.732 (#1 FCCU), 0.618 (#2 FCCU), 0.535 (#1 DCU), and 0.572 (#2 DCU), respectively. Thus, the optimal heat source was provided from #1 FCCU. Through further analyses of the fluids from #1 FCCU, the grey correlation degrees of the fluids were 0.597 (oil and gas at top of tower), 0.714 (recycle oil and gas), and 0.512 (diesel), respectively. Thus, the optimal heat source was the oil and gas recycle stream.Xue Jianliang Zhao Dongfeng Li Shi Liu Wei Shen Chanchan Chen Lu 2013China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2013,15,1:1
Investigation into the epidemiology, genetic characteristics, and clinical manifestations of the first monkeypox outbreak in Shenzhen,China显示文摘This paper comprehensively analyses the first-ever monkeypox outbreak in Shenzhen,China, encompassing clinical symptomatology, therapeutic approaches, epidemiological research, and comprehensive laboratory tests, aiming to establish a robust reference for future monkeypox mitigation and management strategies. The investigation involved a thorough investigation of all identified positive cases, including extensive molecular analysis by nucleic acid detection and whole-genome sequencing of the monkeypox virus.Contact tracing and containment of the infected individuals were also undertaken.Three distinct monkeypox cases were identified in this unique outbreak, exhibiting mild and atypical clinical manifestations, primarily fever and rash. All cases were associated with a single transmission chain, primarily facilitated through close contact and homosexual behavior, indicative of a high-risk factor for monkeypox transmission.Jia Wan Xiaomin Zhang Jing Qu Bo Peng Dongfeng Kong Jianhua Lu Qinghua Hu Zhifeng Zhou Haiduan Lin Xiangjie Yao Yulin Fu Qing Xu Ying Lin Yan Yang Jinzhen Tang Lin Lin Huimin Li Ziquan Lv Zhen Zhang Xuan Zou Xiaolu Shi 2023Biosafety and Health2023,5,5:0
Structure modeling of activated carbons used for simulating methane adsorption-A review显示文摘Activated carbons(ACs)are highly porous materials with a broad range of applications in industry such as gas storage, water and air purification, gas separation, and catalysis. The microstructure for ACs is still not clearly known in spite of their wide industrial uses. There have been efforts to describe the structure of activated carbons experimentally in relation to its methane adsorption characteristics. In this review,it is assumed that natural gas is sorely composed of CH_(4)for simplicity(because CH_(4)is the major component,>90%).Experimental means to unveil the microstructure and many other properties for these ACs have some limitations,to overcome these limitations,ACs structural modeling and simulation become very important to match the properties with the desired methane adsorption characteristics. The major challenge that methane adsorption simulation faces for so long,is the lack of realistic AC models. This paper reviews the current efforts to develop the realistic AC models for methane adsorption, most of the built models are based on experimental carbon structural findings from the previous studies. The structural parameters including pore size distribution(PSD),specific surface area(SSA),pore volume and extent of curvature in the carbon materials and their role to methane adsorption are discussed. The role of chemical properties, such as presence of functional groups and the nature of the functional groups to the adsorption properties of methane, are also introduced.Different pore morphologies(such as slit pore, platelet, spherical, etc.)are studied with their effect on methane adsorption and presented too.It is found that each of the mentioned parameters has its own bearing to methane adsorption.Furthermore, this work analyzes different current techniques used in modeling natural gas adsorption, and the mechanisms are able to reproduce the specific carbon materials for a certain desired set of adsorption characteristic. Some future works are also recommended in this area,so that better representations of ACs can be obtained for methane storage purposes.John Rwiza Rugarabamu Dongfeng Zhao Shi Li Rui Diao Kunli Song 2023Petroleum Research2023,8,1:0
