| 1 | Sediment pollution characteristics and in situ control in a deep drinking water reservoir显示文摘Sediment pollution characteristics, in situ sediment release potential, and in situ inhibition of sediment release were investigated in a drinking water reservoir. Results showed that organic carbon(OC), total nitrogen(TN), and total phosphorus(TP) in sediments increased from the reservoir mouth to the main reservoir. Fraction analysis indicated that nitrogen in ion exchangeable form and Na OH-extractable P(Fe/Al-P) accounted for 43% and 26% of TN and TP in sediments of the main reservoir. The Risk Assessment Code for metal elements showed that Fe and Mn posed high to very high risk. The results of the in situ reactor experiment in the main reservoir showed the same trends as those observed in the natural state of the reservoir in 2011 and 2012; the maximum concentrations of total OC, TN, TP, Fe,and Mn reached 4.42 mg/L, 3.33 mg/L, 0.22 mg/L, 2.56 mg/L, and 0.61 mg/L, respectively. An in situ sediment release inhibition technology, the water-lifting aerator, was utilized in the reservoir. | 2 | Functional Diversity of CYCLOIDEA-like TCP Genes in the Control of Zygomorphic Flower Development in Lotus japonicus显示文摘CYCLOIDEA (CYC)-like TCP genes play key roles in dorsoventral differentiation of zygomorphic flowers in Papilionoideae legumes. In this study, we analyzed the kew mutants whose flowers lost lateral identity, and investigated the diverse functions of three LjCYC genes during zygomorphic flower development in the model legume Lotus japonicus. We showed that kew1 and kew3 are allelic mutants of LjCYC3, a CYC-like TCP gene. Through transgenic experiments, it was shown that LjCYC1 possesses dorsal activity similar to LjCYC2, and that LjCYC3 alone is sufficient to confer lateral activity, and an epistatic effect between dorsal and lateral activities was identified. Sequence analysis revealed a striking alteration at the 3 end of the LjCYC3 open reading frame (ORF) in comparison with those of LjCYC1 and LjCYC2 ORFs. Furthermore, it was found that LjCYC proteins could interact with each other and possess different activities by means of a transcriptional activity assay. | 3 | Fingerprinting hydrothermal fluids in porphyry Cu deposits using K and Mg isotopes显示文摘In this study, we performed an integrated investigation of K and Mg isotopes in hydrothermally altered rocks from the giant Dexing porphyry Cu deposit in China. Both the altered porphyry intrusion and the surrounding wall rocks exhibit large variations in K and Mg isotope compositions, with δ41K values ranging between-1.02‰ and 0.38‰, and δ26Mg values ranging between-0.49‰ and 0.32‰. The δ41K and δ26Mg values of the majority of altered samples are higher than the isotopic baseline values for upper continental crust. We attribute the general increase in δ41 K and δ26Mg in altered rocks to hydrothermal alteration,which caused preferential incorporation of heavy K and Mg isotopes in alteration products, particularly phyllosilicates. However,a few altered samples show anomalously low δ41K and δ26Mg values. The δ41K and δ26Mg values do not correlate with K and Mg concentrations, or mineralogy of altered samples. The variable K-Mg isotope data likely reflect fluids of different physicalchemical properties, or different isotopic compositions. Based on the combined K-Mg isotope data, at least three groups of hydrothermal fluids are distinguished from the Dexing porphyry deposit. | 5 | Prognostic significance of combining high mobility group Box-1 and OV-6 expression in hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘The inflammatory environment and existence of cancer stem cells are critical for progression and intrahepatic recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) after curative resections. Here, we investigated the prognostic significance of combining high mobility group box 1(HMGB1) expression and hepatic progenitor marker OV6 in hepatocellular carcinoma. Expression of HMGB1 and OV6 was evaluated using immunohistochemistry profiling in tissue microarrays containing samples from 208 HCC patients. Invasive clinical or pathological factors were found in patients with high expression of HMGB1 or OV6. Higher HMGB1 was associated with poorer clinical outcomes, and independently related to elevated 5-year recurrence incidence(85.5% vs. 62.4%, P<0.001). We also found that more OV6 positive staining was correlated with poor prognosis of HCC patients(P<0.001). Notably, expression of HMGB1 was positively correlated with OV6 in density(R2=0.032, P<0.001) and reversely related to HCC outcomes. Abnormal expression of HMGB1 in combination with positive staining of OV6 displayed poorer prognostic performance than single biomarker alone(area under curve(AUC) survival=0.696). | 8 | Cholecystokinin octapeptide antagonizes apoptosis in human retinal pigment epithelial cells显示文摘Although cholecystokinin octapeptide-8 is important for neurological function, its neuroprotective properties remain unclear. We speculated that cholecystokinin octapeptide-8 can protect human retinal pigment epithelial cells against oxidative injury. In this study, retinal pigment epithelial cells were treated with peroxynitrite to induce oxidative stress. Peroxynitrite triggered apoptosis in these cells, and increased the expression of Fas-associated death domain, Bax, caspase-8 and Bcl-2. These changes were suppressed by treatment with cholecystokinin octapeptide-8. | 11 | Liver resection versus liver transplantation for hepatocellular carcinoma within the Milan criteria based on estimated microvascular invasion risks显示文摘Background:Preoperative prediction of microvascular invasion(MVI)in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)may optimize individualized treatment decision-making.This study aimed to investigate the prognostic differences between HCC patients undergoing liver resection(LR)and liver transplantation(LT)based on predicted MVI risks.Methods:We analysed 905 patients who underwent LR,including 524 who underwent anatomical resection(AR)and 117 who underwent LT for HCC within the Milan criteria using propensity score matching.A nomogram model was used to predict preoperative MVI risk.Results:The concordance indices of the nomogram for predicting MVI were 0.809 and 0.838 in patients undergoing LR and LT,respectively.Based on an optimal cut-off value of 200 points,the nomogram defined patients as high-or low-risk MVI groups.LT resulted in a lower 5-year recurrence rate and higher 5-year overall survival(OS)rate than LR among the high-risk patients(23.6%vs 73.2%,P<0.001;87.8%vs 48.1%,P<0.001)and low-risk patients(19.0%vs 45.7%,P<0.001;86.5%vs 70.0%,P=0.002).The hazard ratios(HRs)of LT vs LR for recurrence and OS were 0.18(95%confidence interval[CI],0.09–0.37)and 0.12(95%CI,0.04–0.37)among the high-risk patients and 0.37(95%CI,0.21–0.66)and 0.36(95%CI,0.17–0.78)among the low-risk patients.LT also provided a lower 5-year recurrence rate and higher 5-year OS rate than AR among the high-risk patients(24.8%vs 63.5%,P=0.001;86.7%vs 65.7%,P=0.004),with HRs of LT vs AR for recurrence and OS being 0.24(95%CI,0.11–0.53)and 0.17(95%CI,0.06–0.52),respectively.The 5-year recurrence and OS rates between patients undergoing LT and AR were not significantly different in the low-risk patients(19.4%vs 28.3%,P=0.129;85.7%vs 77.8%,P=0.161).Conclusions:LT was superior to LR for patients with HCC within the Milan criteria with a predicted high or low risk of MVI.No significant differences in prognosis were found between LT and AR in patients with a low risk of MVI. | Pinghua Yang Fei Teng Shilei Bai Yong Xia Zhihao Xie Zhangjun Cheng Jun Li Zhengqing Lei Kui Wang Baohua Zhang Tian Yang Xuying Wan Hao Yin Hao Shen Timothy M Pawlik Wan Yee Lau Zhiren Fu Feng Shen | 2023 | Gastroenterology Report2023,11,1: | 1 |

| 15 | High coercivity Nd-Ce-Fe-B nanostructured ribbons prepared from melt spinning technique显示文摘The Ce-substituted(Nd1-xCex)12.2 Fe81.6 B6.2(x=0.0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6) nanocrystalline ribbons were prepared by annealing amorphous ribbons from melt spinning. It is found that all ribbons are in a multiphase state consisting of a-Fe phase, Nd(Ce)-rich phases and RE2 Fe14 B(RE = Nd, Ce) phases. However, the coercivity of all annealed ribbons can reach a considerably high value without doping any heavy rare earth or other coercivity enhanced elements. A strong intergranular exchange coupling appears in these nanocrystalline ribbons. The Nd12.2 Fe81.6 B6.2 ribbons with multiphase have a coercivity of about 11.3 k Oe, and the coercivity decreases slightly with increasing Ce content. A coercivity of 7.5 kOe can be obtained when60 at% of Nd is replaced by Ce(x = 0.6) due to the grain refinement and the strong intergranular exchange coupling. | 18 | Experimental investigation on the spray characteristics of agricultural full-cone pressure swirl nozzle显示文摘The spray characteristics of a full-cone pressure swirl nozzle have been investigated in this study.The results were defined by Reynolds number,which focuses on the breakup of liquid film,droplet size,velocity,and liquid volume flux under different Reynolds numbers at the near-field spray.The spray structure was visualized using a high-speed camera,and the characteristics of droplets were measured using a Phase Doppler Anemometer(PDA)in both the radial and axial directions.The tests were carried out at varying spray pressures(0.2 to 1.0 MPa),corresponding to different Reynolds numbers(5369 to 12006).It was found that when the Reynolds number rises,the liquid became more unstable after leaving the nozzle,causing the liquid film to break up faster.According to the measurements of PDA,the coalescence of droplets increased due to the centrifugal effect.What’s more,the velocity of the droplets fluctuates significantly in the radial direction,and the droplets with a smaller particle size had a higher average velocity.From the perspective of liquid distribution,the increase in Reynolds number caused the spray liquid to move in the radial direction gradually.In contrast,the liquid volume distribution changed in the radial direction more obviously than in the axial direction,growing to the maximum along the radial direction and gradually reducing.It can provide a reference for selecting operating parameters for actual agricultural spray operations and the design of electrostatic nozzles through the research on breakup and droplet characteristics. | Xiuyun Xue Xufeng Xu Shilei Lyu Shuran Song Xin Ai Nengchao Li Zhenyu Yang Zhen Li | 2023 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2023,16,4: | 0 |

| 20 | Enhanced thermal stability of Ce_(0.33)Zr_(0.55)(LaNdY)_(0.12)O_(2) mixed oxides prepared by sulfate-aided coprecipitation method显示文摘Ceria-zirconia based mixed oxides(CZs)have been applied in three-way catalysts(TWCs)for their high surface area and oxygen storage capacity(OSC).In this work,enhanced thermal stability of Ce_(0.33)Zr_(0.55)(LaNdY)_(0.12)O_(2)mixed oxides was realized via a facile and scalable approach,namely,sulfateaided coprecipitation method was labelled as CZ-S.Sulfate ion(SO_(4)^(2-))was added into raw solution in the form of sulfuric acid and acted as coordination agent.The control sample was prepared by conventional coprecipitation method without sulfuric acid added and labelled as CZ.The promotion effect of sulfate ion was analyzed systematically by X-ray diffraction(XRD),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),N_(2)adsorption-desorption,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),OSC and hydrogen temperatureprogrammed reduction(H_(2)-TPR)analysis.XRD and high resolution TEM results reveal that CZ-S have homogeneous distributions of elements.TEM and SEM images show that fresh samples of CZ-S have narrower distributions of grain sizes and larger pore sizes than those of CZ.Through cross analysis of structure and morphology of CZ and CZ-S,we find that the introduction of sulfate ions results in uniform distributions of elements,narrows distributions of grain sizes,and enables the formation of secondary loose packing of sub-particles,which lead to enhanced thermal stability of the samples of CZ-S upon aging process at high temperature.After aging treatment at 1100℃for 10 h,aged samples of CZ-S present larger specific surface areas and pore volumes than the aged sample prepared by conventional coprecipitation method without sulfate ions added.Furthermore,the aged sample of CZ-S2(SO_(4)^(2-)/Zr=1)possesses the highest specific surface area of 21.9 m2/g and the biggest pore volume of 0.035 mL/g among all aged samples. | Shilei Chen Yongke Hou Hao Wang Zheng Zhao Yongqi Zhang Juanyu Yang Xiaowei Huang | 2021 | Journal of Rare Earths2021,39,5: | 0 |
