1The heterogeneity of islet autoantibodies and the progression of islet failure in type 1 diabetic patients显示文摘Type 1 diabetes mellitus is heterogeneous in many facets. The patients suffered from type 1 diabetes present several levels of islet function as well as variable number and type of islet-specific autoantibodies. This study was to investigate prevalence and heterogeneity of the islet autoantibodies and clinical phenotypes of type 1 diabetes mellitus; and also discussed the process of islet failure and its risk factors in Chinese type 1 diabetic patients. A total of 1,291 type 1 diabetic patients were enrolled in this study. Demographic information was collected. Laboratory tests including mixed-meal tolerance test, human leukocyte antigen alleles, hemoglobin A1 c, lipids, thyroid function and islet autoantibodies were conducted. The frequency of islet-specific autoantibody in newly diagnosed T1 DM patients(duration shorter than half year) was 73% in East China. According to binary logistic regressions, autoantibody positivity, longer duration and lower Body Mass Index were the risk factors of islet failure. As the disease developed, autoantibodies against glutamic acid decarboxylase declined as well as the other two autoantibodies against zinc transporter 8 and islet antigen 2. The decrease of autoantibodies was positively correlated with aggressive beta cell destruction. Autoantibodies can facilitate the identification of classic T1 DM from other subtypes and predict the progression of islet failure. 2High temperature performance of coaxial h-BN/CNT wires above 1,000 ℃:Thermionic electron emission and thermally activated conductivity显示文摘The development of wires and cables that can tolerate extremely high temperatures will be very important for probing extreme environments, such as in solar exploration, fire disasters, high-temperature materials processing, aeronautics and astronautics. In this paper, a lightweight high-temperature coaxial h-boron nitride (BN)/carbon nanotube (CNT) wire is synthesized by the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) epitaxial growth of h-BN on CNT yarn. The epitaxially grown h-BN acts as both an insulating material and a jacket that protects against oxidation. It has been shown that the thermionic electron emission (1,200 K) and thermally activated conductivity (1,000 K) are two principal mechanisms for insulation failure of h-BN at high temperatures. The thermionic emission of h-BN can provide the work function of h-BN, which ranges from 4.22 to 4.61 eV in the temperature range of 1,306-1,787 K. The change in the resistivity of h-BN with temperature follows the ohmic conduction model of an insulator, and it can provide the “electron activation energy”(the energy from the Fermi level to the conduction band of h-BN), which ranges from 2.79 to 3.08 eV, corresponding to a band gap for h-BN ranging from 5.6 to 6.2 eV. However, since the leakage current is very small, both phenomena have no obvious influence on the signal transmission at the working temperature. This lightweight coaxial h-BN/CNT wire can tolerate 1,200 ℃ in air and can transmit electrical signals as normal. 3Upregulation of GLT25D1 in Hepatic Stellate Cells Promotes Liver Fibrosis via the TGF-β1/SMAD3 Pathway In Vivo and In vitro显示文摘Background and Aims:Collagenβ(1-O)galactosyltransferase 25 domain 1(GLT25D1)is associated with collagen production and glycosylation,and its knockout in mice results in embryonic death.However,its role in liver fibrosis remains elusive,particularly in hepatic stellate cells(HSCs),the primary collagen-producing cells associated with liver fibrogenesis.Herein,we aimed to elucidate the role of GLT25D1 in HSCs.Methods:Bile duct ligation(BDL)-induced mouse liver fibrosis models,primary mouse HSCs(mHSCs),and transforming growth factor beta 1(TGF-β1)-stimulated LX-2 human hepatic stellate cells were used in in vivo and in vitro studies.Stable LX-2 cell lines with either GLT25D1 overexpression or knockdown were established using lentiviral transfection.RNA-seq was performed to investigate the genomic differences.HPLCMS/MS were used to identify glycosylation sites.Scanning electronic microscopy(SEM)and second-harmonic generation/two-photon excited fluorescence(SHG/TPEF)were used to image collagen fibril morphology.Results:GLT25D1 expression was upregulated in nonparenchymal cells in human cirrhotic liver tissues.Meanwhile,its knockdown attenuated collagen deposition in BDL-induced mouse liver fibrosis and inhibited mHSC activation.GLT25D1 was overexpressed in activated versus quiescence LX-2 cells and regulated in vitro LX-2 cell activation,including proliferation,contraction,and migration.GLT25D1 also significantly increased liver fibrogenic gene and protein expression.GLT25D1 upregulation promoted HSC activation and enhanced collagen expression through the TGF-β1/SMAD signaling pathway.Mass spectrometry showed that GLT25D1 regulated the glycosylation of collagen in HSCs,affecting the diameter of collagen fibers.Conclusions:Collectively,the upregulation of GLT25D1 in HSCs promoted the progression of liver fibrosis by affecting HSCs activation and collagen stability.Shiwei Wang Lingling He Fan Xiao Meixin Gao Herui Wei Junru Yang Yang Shu Fuyang Zhang Xiaohui Ye Ping Li Xiaohua Hao Xingang Zhou Hongshan Wei 2023Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2023,11,1:1
4Safe Navigation for UAV-Enabled Data Dissemination by Deep Reinforcement Learning in Unknown Environments显示文摘Unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) are increasingly considered in safe autonomous navigation systems to explore unknown environments where UAVs are equipped with multiple sensors to perceive the surroundings. However, how to achieve UAVenabled data dissemination and also ensure safe navigation synchronously is a new challenge. In this paper, our goal is minimizing the whole weighted sum of the UAV’s task completion time while satisfying the data transmission task requirement and the UAV’s feasible flight region constraints. However, it is unable to be solved via standard optimization methods mainly on account of lacking a tractable and accurate system model in practice. To overcome this tough issue,we propose a new solution approach by utilizing the most advanced dueling double deep Q network(dueling DDQN) with multi-step learning. Specifically, to improve the algorithm, the extra labels are added to the primitive states. 6Coordination geometry of Zn^(2+) on hexagonal turbostratic birnessites with different Mn average oxidation states and its stability under acid dissolution显示文摘Hexagonal turbostratic birnessite,with the characteristics of high contents of vacancies,varying amounts of structural and adsorbed Mn^(3+),and small particle size,undergoes strong adsorption reactions with trace metal(TM)contaminants.While the interactions of TM,i.e.,Zn^(2+),with birnessite are well understood,the effect of birnessite structural characteristics on the coordination and stability of Zn^(2+)on the mineral surfaces under proton attack is as yet unclear.In the present study,the effects of a series of synthesized hexagonal turbostratic birnessites with different Mn average oxide states(AOSs)on the coordination geometry of adsorbed Zn^(2+)and its stability under acidic conditions were investigated.With decreasing Mn AOS,birnessite exhibits smaller particle sizes and thus larger specific surface area,higher amounts of layer Mn^(3+)and thus longer distances for the first Mn\O and Mn\Mn shells,but a low quantity of available vacancies and thus low adsorption capacity for Zn^(2+).Zn K-edge EXAFS spectroscopy demonstrates that birnessite with low Mn AOS has smaller adsorption capacity but more tetrahedral Zn(^(IV)Zn)complexes on vacancies than octahedral(^(VI)Zn)complexes,and Zn^(2+)is more unstable under acidic conditions than that adsorbed on birnessite with high Mn AOS.High Zn^(2+)loading favors the formation of^(VI)Zn complexes over^(IV)Zn complexes,and the release of Zn^(2+)is faster than at low loading.These results will deepen our understanding of the interaction mechanisms of various TMs with natural birnessites,and the stability and thus the potential toxicity of heavy metal pollutants sequestered by engineered nano-sized metal oxide materials.Hui Yin Xinping Wang Zhangjie Qin Matthew Ginder-Vogel Shuang Zhang Shuqi Jiang Fan Liu Shiwei Li Jing Zhang Yan Wang 2018Journal of Environmental Sciences2018,30,3:1

12VvMYB14 participates in melatonin-induced proanthocyanidin biosynthesis by upregulating expression of VvMYBPA1 and VvMYBPA2 in grape seeds显示文摘This work demonstrated that melatonin increases continuously in seeds,particularly seed coats,during berry ripening.Exogenous melatonin treatments significantly increased the proanthocyanidin(PA)content,partially through ethylene signaling,in seed coats.VvMYB14 expression exhibited patterns similar to melatonin accumulation over time,which was largely induced by melatonin treatment in seed coats during berry ripening.Additionally,VvMYB14 bound to the MBS element of the VvMYBPA1 promoter to activate expression.VvMYB14 overexpression largely upregulated expression of VvMYBPA1,VvMYBPA2 and VvLAR1 and increased the PA content in grape seed-derived calli.Similar increases in AtTT2 and AtBAN expression and PA content were found in VvMYB14-overexpressing Arabidopsis seeds.It was also observed that VvMYB14 overexpression increased ethylene production and thereby induced expression of VvERF104,which bound to the ERF element of the VvMYBPA2 promoter and activated its expression.Additionally,VvERF104 suppression reduced the VvMYB14 overexpression-induced increases in expression of VvMYBPA2 and VvLAR1 and PA content.Further experiments revealed that melatonin-induced increases in the expression of VvMYBPA1,VvMYBPA2,VvERF104 and VvLAR1 and PA accumulation were significantly reduced in VvMYB14-suppressing grape calli and leaves.Collectively,VvMYB14 mediates melatonin-induced PA biosynthesis by directly transactivating VvMYBPA1 expression and indirectly upregulating VvMYBPA2 expression via VvERF104.Xiaoqian Zhang Wanyun Ma Xueqiang Guan Fei Wang Zongbao Fan Shiwei Gao Yuxin Yao 2023Horticulture Research2023,10,2:0

142-40 Influence of Different Oxidation Temperature on Phase Separation Characteristics of (U1..xNdx)3O8 Solid Solutions显示文摘Rare-earth (RE) elements in spent nuclear fuel are strong neutron absorbers, which affect the fission efficiencyof fissile materials. 15GSTAR:an innovative software platform for processing space geodetic data at the observation level显示文摘To meet the demands for the data combination with multiple space geodetic techniques at the observation level,we developed a new software platform with high extensibility and computation efficiency,named space Geodetic SpatioTemporal data Analysis and Research software(GSTAR).Most of the modules in the GSTAR are coded in C++with object-oriented programming.The layered modular theory is adopted for the design of the software,and the antenna-based data architecture is proposed for users to construct personalized geodetic application scenarios easily.The initial performance of the GSTAR software is evaluated by processing the Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS)data collected from 315 globally distributed stations over two and a half years.The accuracy of GNSS-based geodetic products is evaluated by comparing them with those released by International GNSS Service(IGS)Analysis Centers(AC).Taking the products released by European Space Agency(ESA)as reference,the Three-Dimension(3D)Root-Mean-Squares(RMS)of the orbit differences are 2.7/6.7/3.3/7.7/21.0 cm and the STandard Deviations(STD)of the clock differences are 19/48/16/32/25 ps for Global Positioning System(GPS),GLObal NAvigation Satellite System(GLONASS),Galileo navigation satellite system(Galileo),BeiDou Navigation Satellite System(BDS),Medium Earth Orbit(MEO),and BDS Inclined Geo-Synchronous Orbit(IGSO)satellites,respectively.The mean values of the X and Y components of the polar coordinate and the Length of Day(LOD)with respect to the International Earth Rotation and Reference Systems Service(IERS)14 C04 products are-17.6 microarc-second(μas),9.2μas,and 14.0μs/d.Compared to the IGS daily solution,the RMSs of the site position differences in the north/east/up direction are 1.6/1.5/3.9,3.8/2.4/7.6,2.5/2.4/7.9 and 2.7/2.3/7.4 mm for GPS-only,GLONASS-only,Galileo-only,and BDS-only solution,respectively.The RMSs of the differences of the tropospheric Zenith Path Delay(ZPD),the north gradients,and the east gradients are 5.8,0.9,and 0.9 mm with respect to the IGS products.The X and Y components of the geocenter motion estimated from GPS-only,Galileo-only,and BDS-only observations well agree with IGS products,while the Z component values are much nosier where anomalous harmonics in GNSS draconitic year can be found.The accuracies of the above products calculated by the GSTAR are comparable with those from different IGS ACs.Compared to the precise scientific orbit products,the 3D RMS of the orbit differences for the two Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment Follow-on(GRACE-FO)satellites is below 1.5 cm by conducting Precise Point Positioning with Ambiguity Resolution(PPP-AR).In addition,a series of rapid data processing algorithms are developed,and the operation speed of the GSTAR software is 5.6 times faster than that of the Positioning and Navigation Data Analyst(PANDA)software for the quad-system precise orbit determination procedure.Chuang Shi Shiwei Guo Lei Fan Shengfeng Gu Xinqi Fang Linghao Zhou Tao Zhang Zhen Li Min Li Wenwen Li Cheng Wang Yidong Lou 2023Satellite Navigation2023,4,3:0
