2BTB-BACK-TAZ domain protein MdBT2-mediated MdMYB73 ubiquitination negatively regulates malate accumulation and vacuolar acidification in apple显示文摘As an important primary metabolite,malate plays a key role in regulating osmotic pressure,pH homeostasis,stress tolerance,and fruit quality of apple.The R2R3-MYB transcription factor(TF)MdMYB73 was identified as a protein that plays a critical role in determining malate accumulation and vacuolar acidification by directly regulating the transcription of aluminum-activated malate transporter 9(MdALMT9),vacuolar ATPase subunit A(MdVHA-A),and vacuolar pyrophosphatase 1(MdVHP1)in apple.In addition,the bHLH TF MdCIbHLH1 interacts with MdMYB73 and enhances the transcriptional activity of MdMYB73.Our previous studies demonstrated that the BTB-BACK-TAZ domain protein MdBT2 can degrade MdCIbHLH1 to influence malate accumulation and vacuolar acidification.However,the potential upstream regulators of MdMYB73 are currently unknown.In this study,we found that MdBT2 directly interacts with and degrades MdMYB73 through the ubiquitin/26S proteasome pathway to regulate malate accumulation and vacuolar acidification.A series of functional assays with apple calli and fruit showed that MdBT2 controls malate accumulation and vacuolar acidification in an MdMYB73-dependent manner.Overall,our findings shed light on the mechanism by which the BTB-BACK-TAZ domain protein MdBT2 regulates malate accumulation and vacuolar acidification by targeting MdMYB73 and MdCIbHLH1 for ubiquitination in apple.This information may help guide traditional breeding programs and fruit tree molecular breeding,and lead to improvements in fruit quality and stress tolerance.Quan-Yan Zhang Kai-Di Gu Jia-Hui Wang Jian-Qiang Yu Xiao-Fei Wang Shuai Zhang Chun-Xiang You Da-Gang Hu Yu-Jin Hao 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:6

5Genomic Variations in the Tea Leafhopper Reveal the Basis of Its Adaptive Evolution显示文摘Tea green leafhopper(TGL),Empoasca onukii,is of biological and economic interest.Despite numerous studies,the mechanisms underlying its adaptation and evolution remain enigmatic.Here,we use previously untapped genome and population genetics approaches to examine how the pest adapted to different environmental variables and thus has expanded geographically.We complete a chromosome-level assembly and annotation of the E.onukii genome,showing notable expansions of gene families associated with adaptation to chemoreception and detoxification.Genomic signals indicating balancing selection highlight metabolic pathways involved in adaptation to a wide range of tea varieties grown across ecologically diverse regions.Patterns of genetic variations among 54 E.onukii samples unveil the population structure and evolutionary history across different tea-growing regions in China.Our results demonstrate that the genomic changes in key pathways,including those linked to metabolism,circadian rhythms,and immune system functions,may underlie the successful spread and adaptation of E.onukii.This work highlights the genetic and molecular basis underlying the evolutionary success of a species with broad economic impacts,and provides insights into insect adaptation to host plants,which will ultimately facilitate more sustainable pest management.Qian Zhao Longqing Shi Weiyi He Jinyu Li Shijun You Shuai Chen Jing Lin Yibin Wang Liwen Zhang Guang Yang Liette Vasseur Minsheng You 2022Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2022,20,6:1

9A genome-wide association study on growth traits in orangespotted grouper(Epinephelus coioides) with RAD-seq genotyping显示文摘The orange-spotted grouper, Epinephelus coioides, is one of the most popular fish in China and Southeast Asian countries because of its important economic value. However, molecular mechanism underlying the growth of orange-spotted grouper has never been fully understood. Herein, we performed a genome-wide association study(GWAS) on a natural population of 198 individuals aiming to screen the whole genome of orange-spotted grouper for identification of growth-related loci by restrictionsite associated DNA sequencing. In this research, 261,366 single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) were developed, in which110 SNPs were identified to be correlated with growth and 20 SNPs were further confirmed to be associated with both body weight and total length. From these identified SNPs, we annotated a total of 34 genes, including adgrb2, csnkza1, cers5, col22 a1,creb5, dnd1, dzank1, dnai1, npy2 r, fat3, lrrk2, lrp5, map3 k9, and so on. Among these candidate genes, npy2 r(neuropeptide Y receptor Y2) was reported to play a critical role in growth of the orange-spotted grouper. In addition, population structure,principal component analysis, kinship matrix and linkage disequilibrium were examined to verify the accuracy and reliability of our GWAS results. 13Reconfigurable physical unclonable cryptographic primitives based on current-induced nanomagnets switching显示文摘Hardware security primitives that preserve secrets are playing a crucial role in the Internet-ofThings(Io T) era. Existing physical unclonable function(PUF) instantiations, exploiting static randomness,generate challenge-response pairings(CRPs) to produce unique security keys that can be used to authenticate devices linked to the Io T. Reconfigurable PUFs(RPUFs) with dynamically refreshable CRPs can enhance the security and robustness of conventional PUFs. The in-plane current-driven perpendicular polarized nanomagnet switching via spin-orbit torque(SOT) possesses great potential for application to memory and logic, as the write-current path is separate from the read-current path, which naturally resolves the write-read interference. However, the stochastic switching of perpendicular magnetization, without an additional symmetry-breaking field, would significantly hinder the technological viability of commercial implementations. Here, we report an initialization-free physical RPUF implemented by SOT-induced stochastic switching of perpendicularly magnetized Ta/Co Fe B/Mg O nanodevices. Using a 15×15 nanomagnet array, we experimentally demonstrate a security primitive that offers a near-ideal 50% uniqueness over 100 reconfiguration cycles, as well as a low correlation coefficient between every two reconfiguration cycles. 17Heavy ion‑induced MCUs in 28nm SRAM‑based FPGAs:upset proportions,classifications,and pattern shapes显示文摘For modern scaling devices,multiple cell upsets(MCUs)have become a major threat to high-reliability field-programmable gate array(FPGA)-based systems.Thus,both performing the worst-case irradiation tests to provide the actual MCU response of devices and proposing an effective MCU distinction method are urgently needed.In this study,high-and medium-energy heavy-ion irradiations for the configuration random-access memory of 28 nm FPGAs are performed.An MCU extraction method supported by theoretical predictions is proposed to study the MCU sizes,shapes,and frequencies in detail.Based on the extraction method,the different percentages,and orientations of the large MCUs in both the azimuth and zenith directions determine the worse irradiation response of the FPGAs.The extracted largest 9-bit MCUs indicate that high-energy heavy ions can induce more severe failures than medium-energy ones.The results show that both the use of high-energy heavy ions during MCU evaluations and effective protection for the application of high-density 28 nm FPGAs in space are extremely necessary.Shuai Gao Xin‑Yu Li Shi‑Wei Zhao Ze He Bing Ye Li Cai You‑Mei Sun Guo‑Qing Xiao Chang Cai Jie Liu 2022Nuclear Science and Techniques2022,33,12:1

19Constructing P-CoMoO_(4)@NiCoP heterostructure nanoarrays on Ni foam as efficient bifunctional electrocatalysts for overall water splitting显示文摘Improving catalytic activity and durabilty through the structural and compositional development of bifunctional electrocatalysts with low cost,high activity and stability is a challenging issue in electrochemical water splitting.Herein,we report the fabrication of heterostructured P-CoMoO_(4)@NiCoP on a Ni foam substrate through interface engineering,by adjusting its composition and architecture.Benefitting from the tailored electronic structure and exposed active sites,the heterostructured P-CoMoO_(4)@NiCoP/NF arrays can be coordinated to boost the overall water splitting.In addition,the superhydrophilic and superaerophobic properties of P-CoMoO_(4)@NiCoP/NF make it conducive to water dissociation and bubble separation in the electrocatalytic process.The heterostructured PCoMoO_(4)@NiCoP/NF exhibits excellent bifunctional electrocatalysis activity with a low overpotential of 66 mV at 10 mA cm^(-2) for HER and 252 mV at 100 mA cm^(-2) for OER.Only 1.62 V potential is required to deliver 20 mA cm^(-2) in a two-electrode electrolysis system,providing a decent overall water splitting performance.The rational construction of the heterostructure makes it possible to regulate the electronic structures and active sites of the electrocatalysts to promote their catalytic activity.Ning You Shuai Cao Mengqiu Huang Xiaoming Fan Kun Shi Haijian Huang Zhangxian Chen Zeheng Yang Weixin Zhang 2023Nano Materials Science2023,5,3:0
