| 1 | Effects of Land Management Practices on Labile Organic Carbon Fractions in Rice Cultivation显示文摘A research trial with four land management practices, i.e., traditional tillage-fallow (TTF), traditional tillage-wheat (TTW), conservation tillage-fallow (CTF) and conservation tillage-wheat (CTW), was sampled in the 15th year after its establishment to assess the effects of different management practices on labile organic carbon fractions (LOCFs), such as easily oxidizable organic carbon (EOC), dissolved organic carbon (DOC), particulate organic carbon (POC) and microbial biomass carbon (MBC) in a typical paddy soil, Chongqing, Southwest China. The results indicated that LOCFs were significantly influenced by the combination of no-tillage, ridge culture and crop rotation. And, different combination patterns showed different effectiveness on soil LOCFs. The effects of no-tillage, ridge culture and wheat cultivation on EOC, DOC, POC and MBC mainly happened at 0-10cm. At this depth, soil under CTW had higher EOC, DOC, POC and MBC contents, compared to TTF, TTW and CTF, respectively. Moreover, the contents of LOCFs for different practices generally decreased when the soil depth increased. | 8 | Role of depressive symptoms in cardiometabolic diseases and subsequent transitions to all-cause mortality:an application of multistate models in a prospective cohort study显示文摘Background and purpose The role of depression in the development and outcome of cardiometabolic diseases remains to be clarified.We aimed to examine the extent to which depressive symptoms affect the transitions from healthy to diabetes,stroke,heart disease and subsequent all-cause mortality in a middle-aged and elderly European population.Methods A total of 78212 individuals aged≥50 years from the Survey of Health Ageing and Retirement in Europe were included.Participants with any baseline cardiometabolic diseases including diabetes,stroke and heart disease were excluded.Depressive symptoms were measured by the Euro-Depression scale at baseline.Participants were followed up to determine the occurrence of cardiometabolic diseases and all-cause mortality.We used multistate models to estimate the transition-specific HRs and 95%CIs after adjustment of confounders.Results During 500711 person-years of follow-up,4742 participants developed diabetes,2173 had stroke,5487 developed heart disease and 7182 died.Depressive symptoms were significantly associated with transitions from healthy to diabetes(HR:1.12,95%CI:1.05 to 1.20),stroke(HR:1.31,95%CI:1.18 to 1.44),heart disease(HR:1.26,95%CI:1.18 to 1.34)and all-cause mortality(HR:1.41,95%CI:1.34 to 1.49).After cardiometabolic diseases,depressive symptoms were associated with the increased risk of all-cause mortality in patients with diabetes(HR:1.54,95%CI:1.25 to 1.89),patients who had stroke(HR:1.29,95%CI:1.03 to 1.61)and patients with heart disease(HR:1.21,95%CI:1.02 to 1.44).Conclusions Depressive symptoms increase the risk of diabetes,stroke and heart disease,and affect the risk of mortality after the onset of these cardiometabolic conditions.Screening and treatment of depressive symptoms may have profound implications for the prevention and prognosis of cardiometabolic diseases. | Yanan Qiao Siyuan Liu Guochen Li Yanqiang Lu Ying Wu Yi Ding Chaofu Ke | 2021 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,4: | 1 |

| 14 | Presence of multiple abnormal immunologic markers is an independent prognostic factor of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma显示文摘Autoimmune diseases (ADs) increase the risk of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and contribute to poor prognosis of patients. However, the association between immunologic markers and clinical outcome has rarely been investigated. This study aims to analyze the prognostic value of pretreatment immunologic markers in newly diagnosed patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). We retrospectively reviewed the data on 502 patients with DLBCL treated in our institution from January 2013 to March 2018. Survival functions were estimated using Kaplan Meier method and Cox regression model. The 3-year progression free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) rates were 70.2% and 80.9%, respectively, and the complete remission (CR) rate was 78.1%. Among the patients, those with multiple (≥3) abnormal immunologic markers had significantly shorter 3-year PFS (52.7% vs. 77.3%, P < 0.001) and OS (68.5% vs. 85.8%, P=0.001) than those without multiple abnormal immunologic markers.Multivariate analysis revealed that the presence of multiple abnormal immunologic markers and the elevated serum levels of lactate dehydrogenase were the independent adverse prognostic factors for PFS (P= 0.008, P < 0.001) and OS (P = 0.003, P < 0.001). Meanwhile, advanced Ann Arbor stage was an independent adverse prognostic factor for PFS (P= 0.001) and age > 60 years for OS (P= 0.014). | 15 | The relative contributions of soil hydrophilicity and raindrop impact to soil aggregate breakdown for a series of textured soils显示文摘Soil aggregate breakdown is the first key factor that causes soil erosion.At present,research on the mechanisms of soil aggregate breakdown during rainfall is common.However,the research to on quantifying the relative contributions of internal and external forces to aggregate breakdown remains limited.This paper was conducted to analyse the relative contribution of internal and external forces to aggregate disintegration and the factors affecting aggregate stability during rainfall.Soil aggregates with a series of textures were selected as test soil samples;deionized water was employed as the soaking solution and rainfall material in static disintegration experiments and rainfall simulation tests.The effect of internal force(soil hydrophilicity)on aggregate disintegration was analysed by the static disintegration method,and the combined effects of internal force(soil hydrophilicity)and external force(raindrop impact)on soil aggregate breakdown were analysed by rainfall simulation experiments.The results indicated that external force caused more severe soil aggregate breakdown than internal force,and the crushed aggregate was mainly distributed in the range of 2–0.25 mm.With increasing rainfall kinetic energy,the degree of aggregate breakdown increased gradually,and the degree of aggregation of the soil particles decreased gradually.Furthermore,soil aggregates with a high clay content(>30%)were more stable than medium-clay(20–30%)and low-clay(<20%)soil aggregates,and the correlation coefficient provided a good representation of the relationship between the clay content and soil aggregate stability index(ASI).Therefore,external force contributed more to soil aggregate breakdown than internal force during rainfall,and clay plays an important role in aggregate stability.The results of this study are of great significance for elaborating the mechanism and factors affecting aggregate breakdown. | Jiangwen Li Shouqin Zhong Zhen Han Pengfei Gao Chaofu Wei | 2022 | International Soil and Water Conservation Research2022,10,3: | 0 |
