| 2 | Effect of activation agents on the surface chemical properties and desulphurization performance of activated carbon显示文摘Flue gas pollution is a serious environmental problem that needs to be solved for the sustainable development of China.The surface chemical properties of carbon have great influence on its desulphurization performance.A series of activated carbons (ACs) were prepared using HNO3,H2O2,NH3·H2O and steam as activation agents with the aim to introduce functional groups to carbon surface in the ACs preparation process.The ACs were physically and chemically characterized by iodine and SO2 adsorption,ultimate analysis,Boehm titration,and temperature-programmed reduction (TPR).Results showed that the iodine number and desulphurization capacity of NH3·H2O activated carbon (AC-NH3) increase with both activation time,and its desulphurization capacity also increases with the concentration of activation agent.However,HNO3 activated carbon (AC-HNO3) and H2O2 activated carbon (AC-H2O2) exhibit more complex behavior.Only their iodine numbers increase monotonously with activation time.Compared with steam activated AC (AC-H2O),the nitrogen content increases 0.232% in AC-NH3 and 0.077% in AC-HNO3.The amount of total basic site on AC-HNO3 is 0.19 mmol·g-1 higher than that on AC-H2O.H2O2 activation introduces an additional 0.08 mmol·g-1 carboxyl groups to AC surface than that introduced by steam activation.The desulphurization capacity of ACs in simulate flue gas desulphurization decreases as follows: AC-NH3 > AC-HNO3 > AC-H2O2 > AC-H2O.This sequence is in accord with the SO2 catalytic oxidation/oxidation ratio in the absence of oxygen and the oxidation property reflected by TPR.In the presence of oxygen,all adsorbed SO2 on ACs can be oxidized into SO3.The desulphurization capacity increases differently according to the activation agents;the desulphurization capacity of AC-NH3 and AC-HNO3 improves by 4.8 times,yet AC-H2O increases only by 2.62 as compared with the desulphurization of corresponding ACs in absence of oxygen. | ZHANG XiangLan,ZHANG Yan,WANG ShuangSheng,ZHANG JingJing & ZHOU Wei School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering,China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing),Beijing 100083,China | 2010 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2010,53,9: | 14 |

| 13 | Optimization of Well Position and Sampling Frequency for Groundwater Monitoring and Inverse Identification of Contamination Source Conditions Using Bayes’Theorem显示文摘Coupling Bayes’Theorem with a two-dimensional(2D)groundwater solute advection-diffusion transport equation allows an inverse model to be established to identify a set of contamination source parameters including source intensity(M),release location(0 X,0 Y)and release time(0 T),based on monitoring well data.To address the issues of insufficient monitoring wells or weak correlation between monitoring data and model parameters,a monitoring well design optimization approach was developed based on the Bayesian formula and information entropy.To demonstrate how the model works,an exemplar problem with an instantaneous release of a contaminant in a confined groundwater aquifer was employed.The information entropy of the model parameters posterior distribution was used as a criterion to evaluate the monitoring data quantity index.The optimal monitoring well position and monitoring frequency were solved by the two-step Monte Carlo method and differential evolution algorithm given a known well monitoring locations and monitoring events.Based on the optimized monitoring well position and sampling frequency,the contamination source was identified by an improved Metropolis algorithm using the Latin hypercube sampling approach.The case study results show that the following parameters were obtained:1)the optimal monitoring well position(D)is at(445,200);and 2)the optimal monitoring frequency(Δt)is 7,providing that the monitoring events is set as 5 times.Employing the optimized monitoring well position and frequency,the mean errors of inverse modeling results in source parameters(M,X0,Y0,T0)were 9.20%,0.25%,0.0061%,and 0.33%,respectively.The optimized monitoring well position and sampling frequency canIt was also learnt that the improved Metropolis-Hastings algorithm(a Markov chain Monte Carlo method)can make the inverse modeling result independent of the initial sampling points and achieves an overall optimization,which significantly improved the accuracy and numerical stability of the inverse modeling results. | Shuangsheng Zhang Hanhu Liu Jing Qiang Hongze Gao Diego Galar Jing Lin | 2019 | Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2019,,5: | 1 |

| 15 | Synthesis and Properties of Rosin-Based Composite Acrylamide Hydrogels显示文摘Hydrogels have been widely applied in agricultural drought-resistance,pollution regulation,drug delivery and so on.Acrylamide(AM)is usually used as raw material to synthesize acrylamide hydrogels.However,inherently low mechanical strength greatly limits their applications in some special areas.Therefore,it is necessary to choose suitable functional monomers to optimize acrylamide hydrogels and improve their mechanical performances.In this paper,a novel acrylamide monomer modified by rosin was synthesized,and then polyacrylamide/rosinbased acrylamide(RAM)composite hydrogels were prepared via free radical polymerization using potassium persulfate as initiator,N,N′-methylene-bisacrylamide(MBA)as a crosslinker.The influence of RAM monomer was investigated in detail.The chemical structure,pore structure,swelling properties,thermal performances and mechanical properties of composite hydrogels were characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared spectrometer(FT-IR),thermogravimetric analysis(TG),scanning electron microscope(SEM),and universal testing,respectively.The results showed that the thermal stability and mechanical property of RAM hydrogels were improved significantly.The compressive strength of RAM hydrogels was increased to 3.5 times than that of AM hydrogels,and the tensile strength was 5.1 times compared with AM hydrogels as well.Moreover,RAM hydrogels exhibited a faster initial swelling rate due to the new pore structure formed after introducing the RAM monomer. | Shuangsheng Zhang Bin Sun Siyu Li Xiangyu Lin Muhua Chen Xu Xu | 2023 | Journal of Renewable Materials2023,11,2: | 0 |
