1Phosphorus fractions and its release in the sediments of Haihe River,China显示文摘The amounts and forms of phosphorus(P) in surface sediments of Haihe River,Tianjin,North China,were examined using a sequential chemical extraction procedure.Five fractions of sedimentary P,including loosely sorbed P(NH4Cl-P),redox-sensitive P(BD-P),metal oxide bound P(NaOH-P),calcium bound P(HCl-P),and residual P(Res-P)(organic and refractory P),were separately quantified.The results indicated that the contents of different P fractions in the sediments varied greatly.The total P(TP) contents ranged from 968 to 2017 mg/kg.Phosphorus contents in NH4Cl-P,BD-P,NaOH-P,and HCl-P ranged from 6.7 to 26.6 mg/kg,54.5 to 90.2 mg/kg,185.2 to 382.5 mg/kg,and 252.3 to 425.5 mg/kg,respectively,which represented 1.2%-3.2%,7.7%-13%,33.3%-48.9%,and 36.2%-54.2% of the sedimentary inorganic P,respectively.For all the sediment samples,the rank order of P-fractions was Res-P > HCl-P > NaOH-P > BD-P > NH4Cl-P.The highly positive relationship between the amounts of P released from the sediments and those in the NH4Cl-P and BD-P fractions,indicated that NH4Cl-P and BD-P were the main fractions that can release P easily.SUN Shujuan HUANG Suiliang SUN Xueming WEN Wei 2009Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,3:53

6Upregulation of annexin A5 affects the biological behaviors of lung squamous carcinoma cells in vitro显示文摘Annexin A5 is a Ca2?-dependent phospholipidbinding protein and protein kinase C inhibitory protein. It has a potential role in cellular signal transduction, inflammation, growth and differentiation. In this study, we evaluated the expression of this protein in lung tumor tissues and subsequently established a NCI-H520 cell line that stably expresses the wild-type ANXA5 gene to determine the effects of annexin A5 upregulation on the cell morphology, proliferation and metastasis potential in vitro.The effects of annexin A5 on NCI-H520 cells were tested by crystal violet staining, CCK-8 assay, scratch wound assay, and Transwell assay. The expressions of Akt,PCNA, vimentin, and E-cadherin were examined by Western blot assay. In this study, we demonstrated that annexin A5 is expressed at lower levels in tumor tissues compared with normal tissues. Additionally, the upregulation of this protein may inhibit the proliferation, migration, and invasion abilities of NCI-H520 cells in vitro. 8Classification of traditional Chinese medicine constitution based on facial features in color images显示文摘Objective:To explore the possible correlation between traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)constitution and facial features in color images and to improve the accuracy of automated constitution classification.Methods:Color images were taken of 5150 individuals of different professions.Automated face detection and key point positioning were performed on the collected images,which were then transformed into a standard size.The relationship between facial features and TCM constitution based on the red,green,blue(RGB)pixel and the local binary pattern(LBP)texture features was explored.Results:The overall accuracy rate and robustness of TCM constitution classification based on RGB features were low.Classification results of the phlegm-dampness,damp-heat,blood stasis,and balance constitutions achieved high accuracy rates.Classification accuracy rate using the LBP texture feature was higher than that of the RGB feature,with the best accuracy observed for the balance constitution.Conclusion:Application of computer image acquisition and processing of facial features may serve as an adjunct to the TCM diagnostic method of inspection.Jian Zhang Shujuan Hou Ji Wang Lingru Li Pin Li Junwen Han Haiqiang Yao Ranran Sun Ziqing Li Zhen Lei Qi Wang 2016Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2016,3,3:5

10Restoration of hyper-eutrophic water with a modularized and air adjustable constructed submerged plant bed显示文摘A modularized and air adjustable constructed submerged plant bed(CSPB)which can be used to restore the eutrophic water is introduced in this paper.This plant bed helps hydrophyte grow under poor conditions such as frequently changed water depth,impaired water transparency,algae bloom and substantial duckweed in summer,which are not naturally suitable for growing hydrophyte.This pilot study in Waihuan River of Tianjin,China,revealed that reduction of Chemical Oxygen Demand(COD),Total Nitrogen(TN)and Total Phosphorus(TP)by the use of CSPB could be reached 30%-35%,35%-40%,30%-40%respectively in the growing season(from March to October)and 5%-10%,5%-15%,7%-20%respectively in the winter(from November to February)when the detention time was 6 d.The relationships between the concentration of COD,TN,TP and the detention time fit the first-order kinetic equation well and the coefficients of determination(R^(2))were all above 0.9.The attenuation coefficients k of the kinetic equation were a function of the water temperature.When the water temperature was quite low or quite high,k was not significantly changed with increasing or decreasing water temperature.While when the temperature was in a moderate range,an increase or decrease of water temperature would lead to a rapid increase or decrease in k.Jinzhong LI Xueju LI Shujuan SUN Xuegong LIU Suiliang HUANG 2011Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2011,5,4:3
11Effects of Reaction Temperature on Microstructure and Advanced Pseudocapacitor Properties of NiO Prepared via Simple Precipitation Method显示文摘Morphology-controlled synthesis and large-scale self-assembly of nanoscale building blocks into complex nanoarchitectures is still a great challenge in nanoscience. In this work, various porous NiO nanostructures are obtained by a simple ammonia precipitation method and we find that the reaction temperature has a significant impact on their microstructures. Nanoflowers and nanoflakes have been obtained at 0 and50, while, weakly self-assembly nanoflowers with nanoflakes are formed at 20. In order to understand the process-structure-property relationship in nanomaterial synthesis and application, the as-prepared NiO is used as supercapacitor electrode materials, and evaluated by electrochemical measurement. The experimental results indicate that the material obtained at lower temperature has higher pseudocapacitance, the specific capacitance of 944, 889 and 410 F/g are reached for the materials prepared at 0, 20 and 50 and further calcined at 300, respectively. While the material obtained at higher temperature has excellent rate capacity. 12The effect of capping with natural and modified zeolites on the release of phosphorus and organic contaminants from river sediment显示文摘A microcosm system that included river sediment,water and different zeolite capping materials(natural zeolite,surfactant-modified zeolite(SMZ),or aluminum modified zeolite(AMZ))was designed to study the effect of capping on the release of phosphorus and three organic pollutants(phenol,pyridine,and pyrene)from the sediment to the overlying water over the course of three month.For the same amount of the three capping materials,the efficiency of phosphorus inactivation was in the order of SMZ>AMZ>natural zeolite.The inactivation of phosphorus was mainly caused by the covering effect,co-precipitation and adsorption by the capping materials.The different zeolites gave different results for the release of phenol,pyridine,and pyrene from the sediment.When natural zeolite was used as the capping material,there was no effect on the release of pyrene and pyridine,whereas capping the sediment with SMZ or AMZ inhibited the release of pyrene and pyridine but to different extents.However,for controlling the release of phenol from the sediment,aluminum modified zeolite was the most efficient material,whereas no effects were observed when natural zeolite or SMZ were used.The different capabilities of the zeolite materials for controlling the release of different organic pollutants are related to the differences in the electrical properties of these pollutants.Shujuan SUN Lei WANG Suiliang HUANG Teng TU Hongwen SUN 2011Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2011,5,3:3

14Enhanced sympathetic activity and cardiac sympathetic afferent reflex in rats with heart failure induced by adriamycin显示文摘Our previous studies have shown that the cardiac sympathetic afferent reflex is enhanced in rats with chronic heart failure(CHF) induced by coronary artery ligation and contributes to the over-excitation of sympathetic activity.We sought to determine whether sympathetic activity and cardiac sympathetic afferent reflex were enhanced in adriamycin-induced CHF and whether angiotensin II(Ang II) in the paraventricular nucleus(PVN) was involved in enhancing sympathetic activity and cardiac sympathetic afferent reflex.Heart failure was induced by intraperitoneal injection of adriamycin for six times during 2 weeks(15 mg/kg).Six weeks after the first injection,the rats underwent anesthesia with urethane and α-chloralose.After vagotomy and baroreceptor denervation,cardiac sympathetic afferent reflex was evaluated by renal sympathetic nerve activity and mean arterial pressure(MAP) response to epicardial application of capsaicin(1.0 nmol).The response of MAP to ganglionic blockade with hexamethonium in conscious rats was performed to evaluate sympathetic activity.The renal sympathetic nerve activity and cardiac sympathetic afferent reflex were enhanced in adriamycin rats and the maximum depressor response of MAP induced by hexamethonium was significantly greater in adriamycin rats than that in control rats.Bilateral PVN microinjection of angiotensin II(Ang II) caused larger responses of the cardiac sympathetic afferent reflex,baseline renal sympathetic nerve activity and MAP in adriamycin rats than control rats.These results indicated that both sympathetic activity and cardiac sympathetic afferent reflex were enhanced and Ang II in the PVN was involved in the enhanced sympathetic activity and cardiac sympathetic afferent reflex in rats with adriamycin-induced heart failure.Shujuan Zhang Feng Zhang Haijian Sun Yebo Zhou Ying Han 2012The Journal of Biomedical Research2012,26,6:3
15Influence of synthesis temperatures on the crystalline grain growth and morphology of lanthanum magnesium hexaaluminate显示文摘Lanthanum magnesium hexaaluminate(LaMgAl_(11)O_(19), LMA) was prepared at different temperatures by solid-state reaction. Phase compositions and crystal morphologies of specimens synthesized at different temperatures were investigated using X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM). It was observed that the crystalline grain size of LMA was not only dependent on the preparation temperature but also on its powder morphology. In the temperature range of 1300 e1550℃, LMA showed platelet grain and the average crystalline grain size increases with the increase in temperature. At1600℃, if the powder was sintered for two times, the equiaxed grain could be found with the decrease in grain space, resulting in the reduction of the crystalline grain size. Styles of specimens(powder or disk) might have no obvious influence on morphologies and sizes of LMA crystalline grains which were synthesized with the well-dispersed raw material mixtures. 16Analysis of the Mechanism and Effectiveness of Lignin in Improving the High-Temperature Thermal Stability of Asphalt显示文摘The use of lignin,which is a by-product of the pulp and paper industry,in the development of asphalt binders would contribute to waste reduction,providing environmental,economic,and social benefits.In this study,samples of lignin-modified asphalt binder samples with different content of lignin(3%,6%,9%,12%,and 15%)and unmodified asphalt(control)were tested using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),dynamic shear rheometer(DSR),and thermogravimetry.The mechanism and effectiveness of lignin in improving the thermal stability of asphalt at high temperatures were analyzed.The FTIR analysis shows that no new characteristic absorption peak is seen in the infrared spectral of the lignin-modified asphalt binder samples,and some bands characteristic of lignin-related peaks gradually increased with the increase of lignin content.This suggests that the modification of lignin-modified asphalt binder samples was due to physical blending rather than chemical modification.The increase of lignin content in the lignin-modified asphalt samples increases the complex shear modulus G*of the samples and decreases the phase angles of the samples.Similarly,the anti-rutting performance(G*/sinδ)of the samples improves with the increase in lignin content,but this is not significant after any addition of lignin that exceeds 12%of asphalt mass.Thermal characterizations show that the thermal decomposition rate of lignin is lower,and its residual amount is higher compared to that of asphalt,which is a major reason for the improved stability of lignin-modified asphalt binders at high temperatures.The effect of lignin on the thermal stability of asphalt is dependent on both lignin content and temperature.It has a positive effect on the thermal stability of asphalt at high temperatures within the range of asphalt service temperature(25℃–200℃).Additionally,from the pyrolysis viewpoint,it was explained that excessive lignin addition is not beneficial to the thermal stability of asphalt at high temperatures,which is consistent with the DSR test result conducted high temperatures.Cheng Cheng Weiwei Sun Bo Hu Guixiang Tao Chao Peng Yanjuan Tian Shujuan Wu 2020Journal of Renewable Materials2020,8,10:2
17Calcipotriol abrogates cancer-associated fibroblast-derived IL-8-mediated oxaliplatin resistance in gastric cancer cells via blocking PI3K/Akt signaling显示文摘Activation of vitamin D receptor(VDR)in cancer-associated fibroblasts(CAFs)has been implicated in hesitating tumor progression and chemoresistance of several human malignancies.Yet,the role of VDR in CAF-induced chemotherapy resistance of gastric cancer(GC)cells remains elusive.In this study we first conducted immunohistochemistry analysis on tissue microarrays including 88 pairs of GC and normal mucosa samples,and provided clinical evidence that VDR was mainly expressed in gastric mucous cells but almost invisible in CAFs,and VDR expression was negatively correlated with malignant clinical phenotype and advanced stages,low VDR expression confers to poor overall survival rate of patients with GC.In a co-culture system of primary CAFs and cancer cells,we showed that treatment of HGC-27 and AGS GC cells with VDR ligand calcipotriol(Cal,500 nM)significantly inhibited CAF-induced oxaliplatin resistance.By using RNA-sequencing and Human Cytokine Antibody Array,we demonstrated that IL-8 secretion from CAFs induced oxaliplatin resistance via activating the PI3K/AKT pathway in GC,whereas Cal treatment greatly attenuated the tumor-supportive effect of CAF-derived IL-8 on GC cells.Taken together,this study verifies the specific localization of VDR in GC tissues and demonstrates that activation of VDR abrogates CAF-derived IL-8-mediated oxaliplatin resistance in GC via blocking PI3K/Akt signaling,suggesting vitamin D supplementation as a potential strategy of enhancing the anti-tumor effect of chemotherapy in GC.Zhen-xiong Zhao Yan-qiu Zhang Hui Sun Zi-qi Chen Jin-jia Chang Xin Wang Xu Wang Cong Tan Shujuan Ni Wei-wei Weng Meng Zhang Lei Wang Dan Huang Yun Feng Wei-qi Shen Mi-die Xu 2023Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2023,44,1:2
18A near-infrared phosphorescent probe for F^- based on a cationic iridium(Ⅲ) complex with triarylboron moieties显示文摘In this work, a near-infrared (NIR) phosphorescent probe for F- based on a cationic Ir(Ⅲ) complex [Ir(Bpq)2(quqo)]PF6 (1) with dimesitylboryl (Mes2B) groups on the cyclometalated C^N ligands (Bpq) and 2-(quinolin-2-yl)quinoxaline (quqo) as N^N ligand was designed and synthesized. The excited state properties of 1 were investigated in detail using molecular orbital cal- culations and experimental methods. Upon excitation, complex 1 shows NIR phosphorescent emission around 680 nm. Inter- estingly, the complex can be excited with long wavelength around 610 nm. Such long-wavelength excitation can reduce the background emission interference and improve the signal-to-noise ratio. Furthermore, the selective binding between boron at- om and F- can give rise to the quenching of emission and realize the near-infrared phosphorescent sensing for F-. 20Human cytomegalovirus miR-US5-1 inhibits viral replication by targeting Geminin mRNA显示文摘Viruses commonly create favorable cellular conditions for their survival through multiple mechanisms. Micro RNAs(mi RNAs), which function as post-transcriptional regulators, are utilized by human cytomegalovirus(HCMV) in its infection and pathogenesis. In the present study, the DNA replication inhibitor Geminin(GMNN) was identified to be a direct target of hcmv-mi R-US5-1. Overexpression of hcmv-mi R-US5-1 could block the accumulation of GMNN during HCMV infection, and the decrease of GMNN expression caused by hcmv-mi R-US5-1 or GMNN specific si RNA reduced HCMV DNA copies in U373 cells.
