| 1 | Quantification of viable bacteria in wastewater treatment plants by using propidium monoazide combined with quantitative PCR(PMA-qPCR)显示文摘The detection of viable bacteria in wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs) is very important for public health, as WWTPs are a medium with a high potential for waterborne disease transmission. The aim of this study was to use propidium monoazide(PMA) combined with the quantitative polymerase chain reaction(PMA-qPCR) to selectively detect and quantify viable bacteria cells in full-scale WWTPs in China. PMA was added to the concentrated WWTP samples at a final concentration of 100 μmol/L and the samples were incubated in the dark for 5 min, and then lighted for 4 min prior to DNA extraction and qPCR with specific primers for Escherichia coli and Enterococci, respectively. The results showed that PMA treatment removed more than 99% of DNA from non-viable cells in all the WWTP samples, while matrices in sludge samples markedly reduced the effectiveness of PMA treatment. Compared to qPCR, PMA-qPCR results were similar and highly linearly correlated to those obtained by culture assay, indicating that DNA from non-viable cells present in WWTP samples can be eliminated by PMA treatment, and that PMA-qPCR is a reliable method for detection of viable bacteria in environmental samples. This study demonstrated that PMA-qPCR is a rapid and selective detection method for viable bacteria in WWTP samples, and that WWTPs have an obvious function in removing both viable and non-viable bacteria. | 6 | Epidemiology and clinical characteristics of burns in China's Mainland from 2009 to 2018显示文摘Background:Burn injuries place a heavy burden on the global healthcare system.However,there is still a lack of nationwide studies on the epidemiological characteristics of burn patients in China's Mainland.The present study aims to accurately analyze the clinical characteristics of burn patients by collecting data in China's Mainland from 2009 to 2018,which will provide effective strategies for healthcare systems and the government in China's Mainland.Methods:Patients admitted for burn injuries to 196 hospitals in 31 provinces,autonomous regions and municipalities in China's Mainland from 2009 to 2018 were included.The data collected included sex,age,month distribution,etiology,region,clinical outcome,injury anatomical location,total burn surface area and mortality.SPSS 19.0 software was used to analyze the data.Results:From 2009 to 2018,the burn patients were 333,995(0.76%),which included 222,480(66.61%)males and 111,515(33.39%)females.From 2009 to 2018,the number of individuals admit-ted to hospitals for burns showed a downward trend year by year.The burn patients accounted for the highest proportion of inpatients in 0-10 years(38.10%),followed by 40-50 years(13.14%).The highest cure ratio of burn inpatients was in the 20-30 age group(31394,71.53%).Among 31 provinces,autonomous regions and municipalities,the province with the highest proportion of total inpatients caused by burns was Inner Mongolia(4.61%),followed by Zhejiang(3.17%),Hainan(2.88%)and Xinjiang(2.64%).Summer(29.16%)was the season with the highest incidence of burn patients admitted to hospitals,followed by spring(25.6%).Scalding(60.19%)was the most frequent kind of burn treated,followed by fire(20.45%).The patients had multiple burn sites(68.89%)most often,followed by burns on the lower limbs(10.91%).From 0%to 10%total body surface area(TBSA)accounted for the highest ratio(37.19%),followed by 90-100%TBSA(21.74%).Conclusions:The present study is the first to describe the associated situation and trends of burn patients in China's Mainland from 2009 to 2018.Our findings will serve as the latest clinical evidence for healthcare planning and prevention efforts in China and other countries. | Jie Yang Guanglei Tian Jianchao Liu Huajuan Bai Shuxu Yang Mingzi Ran Hongyu Li Kui Ma Siming Yang Xiaobing Fu | 2022 | Burns & Trauma2022,10,1: | 1 |

| 11 | Structured Sparse Coding With the Group Log-regularizer for Key Frame Extraction显示文摘Key frame extraction based on sparse coding can reduce the redundancy of continuous frames and concisely express the entire video.However,how to develop a key frame extraction algorithm that can automatically extract a few frames with a low reconstruction error remains a challenge.In this paper,we propose a novel model of structured sparse-codingbased key frame extraction,wherein a nonconvex group log-regularizer is used with strong sparsity and a low reconstruction error.To automatically extract key frames,a decomposition scheme is designed to separate the sparse coefficient matrix by rows.The rows enforced by the nonconvex group log-regularizer become zero or nonzero,leading to the learning of the structured sparse coefficient matrix.To solve the nonconvex problems due to the log-regularizer,the difference of convex algorithm(DCA)is employed to decompose the log-regularizer into the difference of two convex functions related to the l1 norm,which can be directly obtained through the proximal operator.Therefore,an efficient structured sparse coding algorithm with the group log-regularizer for key frame extraction is developed,which can automatically extract a few frames directly from the video to represent the entire video with a low reconstruction error.Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can extract more accurate key frames from most Sum Me videos compared to the stateof-the-art methods.Furthermore,the proposed algorithm can obtain a higher compression with a nearly 18% increase compared to sparse modeling representation selection(SMRS)and an 8% increase compared to SC-det on the VSUMM dataset. | Zhenni Li Yujie Li Benying Tan Shuxue Ding Shengli Xie | 2022 | IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2022,9,10: | 0 |

| 14 | A novel microwave absorption and dielectric spectrum detection technology in photoelectron dynamic study for solar cells显示文摘The photoelectron property is directly related to the light-energy conversion efficiency of solar cells. In this paper, the photoelectron dynamic of semiconductor was analyzed. The diffusion of electrons has influence on the dielectric function of the solar cell material. And the amplitude variance of the imaginary and real part of the dielectric function is in direct proportion to the dynamic process of free and shallow-trapped electrons. Based on the untouched detection technique, the method is present to detect the amplitude change of the microwave signal which is passing through the material whose dielectric function changes after exposure. A 35 GHz oscillator was used as a microwave source. The absorption and dispersion microwave signals, which contain the dynamic information of free and shallow-trapped electron signal, are split respectively with phase-sensitive instrument. The photoelectron character of n-type Si(100) thin film was investigated by the novel equipment, and the lifetime of different kinds of electrons with the resolution of 1 ns was obtained. | 15 | Extracting subpixel vegetation NDVI time series for evaluating the mixed pixel effect on GPP estimation in urban areas显示文摘The normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI)is the most widely used vegetation index for monitoring vegetation vigor and cover.As NDVI time series are usually derived at coarse or medium spatial resolutions,pixel size often represents a mixture of vegetated and non-vegetated surfaces.In heterogeneous urban areas,mixed pixels impede the accurate estimation of gross primary productivity(GPP).To address the mixed pixel effect on'NDVI time series and GPP estimation,we proposed a framework to extract subpixel vegetation NDVI(NDVI_(vege))from Landsat OLI images in urban areas,using endmember fractions,mixed NDVI(NDVI_(mix)),and NDVI.of non-vegetation,endmembers.Results demonstrated that the NDVI_(vege) extracted by this framework agreed well with the true NDVI_(vege) cross seasons and vegetation fractions,with R^(2) ranging from 0.74 to 0.82 and RMSE ranging from 0.03 to 0.04.The NDVI_(vege) time series was applied to evaluate vegetation GP in Wuhan,China.The total annual GPp estimated with NDVI_(vege) was 28-35%higher than the total annual GPP estimated with NDVI_(mix) implying uncertainty in the GPP estimations caused by mixed pixels.This study showed the potential of the proposed framework to resolve NDVI_(vege) for characterizing vegetation dynamics in heterogeneous areas. | Shuxu Li Zheng Zhou Rongfei Ma Shishi Liu Qingfeng Guan | 2023 | International Journal of Digital Earth2023,16,1: | 0 |
