| 1 | Changing patterns and survival improvements of young breast cancer in China and SEER database, 1999-2017显示文摘Objective: Breast cancer in young females was usually considered more aggressive and requires aggressive therapy. We investigated whether early detection and improved treatments changed the patterns of characteristics,management and outcomes of young breast cancer patients over time.Methods: Females under 40 years of age diagnosed with breast cancer during the periods 1999-2017 and1999-2015 were identified in the Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center(FUSCC) and the population-based Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results(SEER) registry, respectively. Clinicopathologic characteristics and treatment information were collected. Patients diagnosed before 2013 were followed up.Results: The proportions of young breast cancer patients were 15.0% and 5.3% in the FUSCC and SEER cohorts, respectively. In the FUSCC cohort, there was a significant increase in the proportion of ductal carcinoma in situ(DCIS)(from 8.8% to 16.9%;P<0.0001) and it remained stable in SEER cohort. The proportion of T1-stage tumors increased dramatically in the FUSCC cohort(from 35.3% to 41.9%;P=0.008), whereas it decreased in SEER cohort(from 42.4% to 33.0%;P<0.0001). The percentage of estrogen receptor(ER)-positive cancers was consistently increased in both the invasive ductal carcinoma(IDC) and DCIS patients in the two cohorts. Breastconserving surgery and immediate implant reconstruction after mastectomy both exhibited increased use over time in the FUSCC cohort. Both the FUSCC and SEER cohorts showed a significantly better prognosis in the recent time period.Conclusions: With the increased early-stage and ER-positive diseases in young patients as well as better systemic treatment strategies, improved survival has been observed in recent years. | 6 | Agglutinin isolated from Arisema heterophyllum Blume induces apoptosis and autophagy in A549 cells through inhibiting PI3K/Akt pathway and inducing ER stress显示文摘Arisaema heterophyllum Blume is one of the three medicinal plants known as traditional Chinese medicine Rhizoma Arisaematis(RA). RA has been popularly used to treat patients with convulsions, inflammation, and cancer for a long time. However, the underlying mechanisms for RA effects are still unclear. The present study was designed to determine the cytotoxicity of agglutinin isolated from Arisema heterophyllum Blume(AHA) and explore the possible mechanisms in human non-small-cell lung cancer A549 cells. AHA with purity up to 95% was isolated and purified from Arisaema heterophyllum Blume using hydrophobic interaction chromatography. AHA dose-dependently inhibited the proliferation of A549 cells and induced G_1 phase cell cycle arrest. AHA induced apoptosis by up-regulating pro-apoptotic Bax, decreasing anti-apoptotic Bcl-2, and activating caspase-9 and caspase-3. In A549 cells treated with AHA, the PI3K/Akt pathway was inhibited. Furthermore, AHA induced increase in the levels of ER stress markers such as phosphorylated eukaryotic initiation factor 2α(p-eIF2α), C/EBP-homologous protein(CHOP), inositol-requiring enzyme 1α(IRE1α), and phosphorylated c-Jun NH_2-terminal kinase(p-JNK). AHA also induced autophagy in A549 cells. Staining of acidic vesicular organelles(AVOs) and increase in the levels of LC3II and ATG7 were observed in AHA-treated cells. These findings suggested that AHA might be one of the active components with anti-cancer effects in Arisaema heterophyllum Blume. | 9 | Splenic artery trunk embolization reduces the surgical risk of liver transplantation显示文摘BACKGROUND:Portal hypertension is one of the most important clinical conditions that cause intraoperative intensive hemorrhage in cirrhotic patients undergoing liver transplantation.Pre-transplant portal decompression may reduce the intraoperative bleeding during liver transplantation.METHODS:Splenic artery trunk embolization(SATE)was performed one month prior to liver transplantation.Platelet count,prealbumin,international normalized ratio,and blood flow in the portal vein and hepatic artery were monitored before and one month after SATE.The measurements above were collected on admission and before surgery in the nonSATE patients,who served as controls.We also recorded the intraoperative blood loss,operating time,required transfusion,post-transplant ascites,and complications within three months after operation in all patients.RESULTS:SATE significantly reduced portal venous blood flow,increased hepatic arterial blood flow,normalized platelet count,and improved prealbumin and international normalized ratio in the patients before liver transplantation.Compared to the non-SATE patients,the pre-transplant SATE significantly decreased the operating time,intraoperative bleeding,posttransplant ascites and severe surgical complications.CONCLUSION:Pre-transplant SATE decreases portal pressure,improves liver function reserve,and reduces the surgical risk of liver transplantation effectively in patients with severe portal hypertension. | Yi-Ning Li Xiong-Ying Miao Hai-Zhi Qi Wei Hu Zhong-Zhou Si Jie-Qun Li Ting Li Zhi-Jun He | 2015 | Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2015,14,3: | 3 |

In this work, we report a high-performanee dual-channel phototransistor based on one-dimensional (1D)/two-dimensional (2D) trigonal selenium (t-Se)/ReS2 heterostructures grown by chemical vapor deposition. The injection and separati on efficie ncy of photoge nerated electro n-hole pairs can be greatly improved due to the high-quality in terfacial con tact betwee n t-Se nano belts and ReS2 films. Compared with bare ReS2 film devices, the dual-cha nnel phototra nsistor based on t-Se/ReS2 heterostructure exhibits considerable enhancement with the responsivity (R) and detectivity (D^*) up to 98 A·W^-1 and 6 x 10^10 Jones at 400 nm illumination with an in tensity of 1.7 mW·cm^-2, respectively. Besides, the respo nse time can also be reduced by three times of magnitude to less than 50 ms due to the type-11 band alignment at the in terface. | 13 | Global Burden of Cardiovascular Disease Attributable to High Temperature in 204 Countries and Territories from 1990 to 2019显示文摘Objective This study aimed to estimate spatiotemporal variations of global heat-related cardiovascular disease(CVD)burden from 1990 to 2019.Methods Data on the burden of heat-related CVD were derived from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019.Deaths and disability-adjusted life years(DALYs)were used to quantify heat-induced CVD burden.We calculated the age-standardized mortality rate(ASMR)and DALY rate(ASDR)per 100,000population to compare this burden across regions.Generalized linear models were applied to evaluate estimated annual percentage changes(EAPC)for temporal trends from 1990 to 2019.The correlation between the socio-demographic index(SDI)and age-standardized rate was measured using the Spearman rank test.Results Heat-induced CVD caused approximately 90 thousand deaths worldwide in 2019.Global ASMR and ASDR of heat-related CVD in 2019 were 1.17[95%confidence interval(CI):0.13-1.98]and 25.59(95%CI:2.07-44.17)per 100,000 population,respectively.The burden was significantly increased in middle and low-SDI regions and slightly decreased in high-SDI regions from 1990 to 2019.ASMR showed an upward trend,with the most considerable increase in low-latitude countries.We observed a negative correlation between SDI and EAPC in ASMR(rs=-0.57,P<0.01)and ASDR(rs=-0.59,P<0.01)among204 countries.Conclusion Heat-attributable CVD burden substantially increased in most developing countries and tropical regions. | HONG Le YAN Miao Miao ZHANG Yun Quan WANG Kai WANG Ya Qi LUO Si Qi WANG Fang | 2023 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2023,36,3: | 1 |

| 17 | Carrier and microstructure tuning for improving the thermoelectric properties of Ag_(8)SnSe_(6)via introducing SnBr_(2)显示文摘The argyrodite compounds(2 A(12)/B X6 m n n^(m+)+--(Am+=Li^(+),Cu^(+),and Ag^(+);Bn^(+)=Ga^(3+),Si^(4+),Ge^(4+),Sn^(4+),P^(5+),and As^(5+);and X^(2−)=S^(2−),Se^(2−),or Te^(2−)))have attracted great attention as excellent thermoelectric(TE)materials due to their extremely low lattice thermal conductivity(κl).Among them,Ag_(8)SnSe_(6)-based TE materials have high potential for TE applications.However,the pristine Ag_(8)SnSe_(6)materials have low carrier concentration(<1017 cm^(−3)),resulting in low power factors.In this study,a hydrothermal method was used to synthesize Ag_(8)SnSe_(6)with high purity,and the introduction of SnBr_(2)into the pristine Ag_(8)SnSe_(6)powders has been used to simultaneously increase the power factor and decrease the thermal conductivity(κ).On the one hand,a portion of the Br−ions acted as electrons to increase the carrier concentration,increasing the power factor to a value of~698 mW·m^(−1)·K^(−2)at 736 K.On the other hand,some of the dislocations and nanoprecipitates(SnBr_(2))were generated,resulting in a decrease ofκl(~0.13 W·m^(−1)·K^(−1))at 578 K.As a result,the zT value reaches~1.42 at 735 K for the sample Ag8Sn1.03Se5.94Br0.06,nearly 30%enhancement in contrast with that of the pristine sample(~1.09).The strategy of synergistic manipulation of carrier concentration and microstructure by introducing halogen compounds could be applied to the argyrodite compounds to improve the TE properties. | Zhonghai YU Xiuxia WANG Chengyan LIU Yiran CHENG Zhongwei ZHANG Ruifan SI Xiaobo BAI Xiaokai HU Jie GAO Ying PENG Lei MIAO | 2022 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2022,11,7: | 1 |
