| 3 | DISLOCATION DISSOCIATIONS AND FAULTENERGIES IN Ni_3Al ALLOYS DOPED WITH PALLADIUM显示文摘Dislocation structures in polycrystalline Ni 3Al alloy doped with palladium deformed at room temperature have been investigated by transmission electron microscopy. The structure consists mainly of dislocations dissociated into a /2〈011〉 super partials bounding an anti phase boundary (APB). Dislocations dissociated into a /3〈112〉 super Shockley partials bounding a superlattice intrinsic stacking fault (SISF) are also common debris. The majority of the SISFs are truncated loops, i.e. the partials bounding the SISF are of similar Burgers vector. These faulted loops are generated from APB coupled dislocations, according to a mechanism for formation of SISFs proposed by Suzuki et al , and recently modified by Chiba et al . The APB energies for {111} and {010} slip planes are measured to be 144±20 mJ/m 2 and 102±11 mJ/m 2 respectively, and the SISF energy has been estimated to be 12 mJ/m 2 in this alloy. It is concluded that the dislocation structure in Ni 74.5 Pd 2Al 23.5 alloy deformed at room temperature is similar to that in binary Ni 3Al, and the difference in fault energies between these two alloys is small. Thus, it seems unlikely that the enhancement of ductility of Ni 74.5 Pd 2Al 23.5 results from only such a small decrease of the ordering energy of the alloy. SISF bounding dislocations also have no apparent influence on the ductilization of Ni 74.5 Pd 2Al 23.5 alloy. | J. Sun *# , C. S. Lee # and J. K. L. | 4 | Late Cretaceous biota and the Cretaceous-Paleogene(K--Pg)Boundary in Jiayin of Heilongjiang,China显示文摘An international cooperative study of the Late Cretaceous biota and non-marine strata including the Cretaceous-Paleogene(K--Pg) boundary in Jiayin near the Heilongjiang River,China during 2002-2010,is summarized in this paper. The strata includes the Upper Cretaceous Yong'ancun-,Taipinglinchang-,Yuliang-zi-,and Furao formations,and the Paleocence Wuyun Formation consisting of Baoshantou Member and a Coalbearing Member. Seven palynological assemblages from Santonian to Paleocene are recognized,which is used for definition of the K--Pg boundary. Through the palynological analysis of three drilled boreholes (XHY-2005,2006,2008) in Xiaoheyan of western Jiayin,the K--Pg boundary is defined within 20. 00-20. 05 m in the borehole XHY-2006 (as a standard boundary) which is just between the top of Furao Formation (late Maasterichtian) and the base of Baishantou Member (early Danian) . These new research results are supported by paleo- magnetic,geochemical and other analyses,also. On the other hand,the presence of eight taxa of Maasterichtian dinosaurs (mostly hadrosaurids) have been recognized by the authors; and two mega-plant assemblages from the Yong'ancun Fm (Santonian) to Taipinglinchang Fm (Campanian) are confirmed. These research a-chievements indicate that the Upper Cretaceous-Paleocene in Jiayin can be well correlated to the strata in the neighboring Zeya-Bureja basin,Russia. The K--Pg boundary definited in Jiayin is the first well documented non-marine K--Pg boundary in China. | 5 | K-ATP channel openers facilitate glutamate uptake by GluTs in rat primary cultured Astrocytes显示文摘Increasing evidence, including from our laboratory, has revealed that opening of ATP sensitive potassium channels(K-ATP channels) plays the neuronal protective roles both in vivo and in vitro. Thus K-ATP channel openers(KCOs) have been proposed as potential neuroprotectants. Our previous studies demonstrated that K-ATP channels could regulate glutamate uptake activity in PC12 cells as well as in synaptosomes of rats. Since glutamate transporters(GluTs) of astrocytes play crucial roles in glutamate uptake and KATP channels are also expressed in astrocytes, the present study showed whether and how KATP channels regulated the function of GluTs in primary cultured astrocytes. The results showed that nonselective KCO pinacidil, selective mitochondrial KCO diazoxide, novel, and blood-brain barrier permeable KCO iptakalim could enhance glutamate uptake, except for the sarcolemmal KCO P1075. Moreover pinacidil, diazoxide, and iptakalim reversed the inhibition of glutamate uptake induced by 1-methyl-4-phenylpyridinium(MPP+). These potentiated effects were completely abolished by mitochondrial K-ATP blocker 5-hydroxydecanoate. Furthermore, either diazoxide or iptakalim could inhibit MPP+-induced elevation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and phosphorylation of protein kinases C(PKC). These findings are the first to demonstrate that activation of K-ATP channel, especially mitochondrial K-ATP channel, improves the function of GluTs in astrocytes due to reducing ROS production and downregulating PKC phosphorylation. | 7 | STUDY ON MICRO-PLASTIC DEFORMATION BEHAVIOR OF 2024 A1 ALLOY显示文摘Dimensional stability properties of hot extruded 2024 Al alloy bar in T4 and T6 aging states and dif- ferent extruded directions were investigated by testing micro-yield strength (MYS), stress relaxation resistance (SRR), and dimensional change in thermal cycling and unloading conditions.The results show that micro-plastic deformation resistance in longitudinal(parallel to the axis of the extruded bar) direction is higher than that in transverse(perpendicular to the axis of the extruded bar) direction. Testing in short-term loading condition MYS value corresponding to micro-plastic strain of 1 *10m-5in longitudinal direction is 1.4 times than that in transverse.Compared with the results of MYS and dimensional change in thermal cycling and unloading conditions, the values in T6 state are higher than that in T4 state. Using TEM the microstructures before micro-plastic deformation were observed.The analyses confirm that stability of thermodynamics condition and dislocation results in dimensional stability of the alloy. | F. | 8 | The level of oncogene H-Ras correlates with tumorigenicity and malignancy显示文摘Normal bovine adrenocortical cells and some human fibroblasts can be transformed by SV40T and H-Ras in a Ras-dependent manner. We recently reported that high levels of Ras derived from 5' LTR of retrovirrus can induce highly malignant and fast growing tumors, while lower levels of Ras derived from internal ribosome entry site(IRES) promotes slower tumor growth and loss of malignancy. Ras derived from CMV promoters resulted in much lower Ras levels and loss of tumor malignancy and growth. Further studies showed that the tumors formed in the presence of lower levels of Ras and dominant negative P53(P53DD) had fewer apoptotic cells and grew faster than the tumors formed from cells with same level Ras and SV40T. Our studies suggest that low levels of Ras are insufficient to inhibit apoptosis induced by pRb inactivation.
