1Status and development of high-power laser facilities at the NLHPLP显示文摘In this paper, we review the status of the multifunctional experimental platform at the National Laboratory of High Power Laser and Physics(NLHPLP). The platform, including the SG-II laser facility, SG-II 9th beam, SG-II upgrade(SG-II UP) facility, and SG-II 5 PW facility, is operational and available for interested scientists studying inertial confinement fusion(ICF) and a broad range of high-energy-density physics. These facilities can provide important experimental capabilities by combining different pulse widths of nanosecond, picosecond, and femtosecond scales. In addition, the SG-II UP facility, consisting of a single petawatt system and an eight-beam nanosecond system, is introduced including several laser technologies that have been developed to ensure the performance of the facility. 2Biosynthesis of tetronate antibiotics:A growing family of natural products with broad biological activities显示文摘Tetronate antibiotics,a growing family of natural products featuring a characteristic tetronic acid moiety,are of importance and of particular interest for their typical structures,especially the spirotetronate structure,and corresponding versatile biological activities.Considerable efforts have persistently performed since the first tetronate was isolated,to elucidate the biosynthesis of natural tetronate products,by isotope-labeled feeding experiments,genetical characterization of biosynthetic gene clusters,and biochemical reconstitution of key enzymatic catalyzed reactions.Accordingly,the biosynthesis of spirotetronates has been gradually determined,including biosynthesis of a polyketide-derived backbone for spirotetronate aglycone,incorporation of a glycerol-derived three-carbon unit into tetronic acid moiety,formation of mature aglycone via Diels-Alder-like reaction,and decorations of aglycone with various deoxysugar moieties.In this paper,the biosynthetic investigations of natural tetronates are well documented and a common biosynthetic route for this group of natural products is summarized accordingly.TAO WeiXin ZHU MangHong DENG ZiXin SUN YuHui 2013Science China Chemistry2013,56,10:3
3Effect of the operation parameters on the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis in fluidized bed reactors显示文摘For the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis(FTS), this paper presents a numerical investigation in a 3 D fluidized bed reactor. The effect of the operation parameters such as bed temperature, superficial gas velocities, particle size and bed heights is discussed. A 3 D-CFD model coupled with FTS chemical kinetics was set up. The computational results are compared with experimental data in terms of the components production rates, etc. The analysis shows that the bed heights, the bed temperature, the superficial gas velocities and particle sizes affect the C_(5+) selectivity and the reaction rates. 4Numerical simulation of effect of gas distributor on Fischer-Tropsch synthesis in fluidized-bed reactor显示文摘Circular and branched pipe distributors were designed for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis in a fluidized-bed reactor. A numerical investigation of the effects of these distributors on product selectivity and production rate was performed. Under the same conditions, the circular distributor gave higher production rates for small diameter particles. For superficial gas velocities ranging from 5 to 15 times the minimum fluidization velocity, the production rates of methane and C5+(the sum of C10H22 and C22H46)were 18%, which was 2% higher than those using the branched pipe distributor, while the C5+ selectivity was 1% lower. 5Determination of minimum overburden depth for underwater shield tunnel in sands:Comparison between circular and rectangular tunnels显示文摘With the development of global urbanization,the utilization of underground space is more critical and attractive for civil purposes.Various shapes of shield tunnels have been gradually proposed to cope with different geological conditions and service purposes of underground structures.Generally,reducing the burial depth of shield tunnel is conducive to construction and cost saving.However,extremely small overburden depth cannot provide sufficient uplift resistance to maintain the stability and serviceability of the tunnel.To this end,this paper firstly reviewed the status of deriving the minimum sand over-burden depth of circular shield tunnel using mechanical equilibrium(ME)method.It revealed that the estimated depth is rather conservative.Then,the uplift resistance mechanism of both circular and rectangular tunnels was deduced theoretically and verified with the model tests.The theoretical uplift resistance is consistent with the experimental values,indicating the feasibility of the proposed equations.Furthermore,the determination of the minimum soil overburden depth of rectangular shield tunnel under various working conditions was presented through integrated ME method,which can provide more reasonable estimations of suggested tunnel burial depth for practical construction.Additionally,optimizations were made for calculating the uplift resistance,and the soil thickness providing uplift resistance is suggested to be adjusted according to the testing results.The results can provide reference for the design and construction of various shapes of shield tunnels in urban underground space exploitation.Weixin Sun Fucheng Han Hanlong Liu Wengang Zhang Yanmei Zhang Weijia Su Songlin Liu 2023Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2023,15,7:2
6Two Ultraviolet Radiation Datasets that Cover China显示文摘Ultraviolet(UV) radiation has significant effects on ecosystems, environments, and human health, as well as atmospheric processes and climate change. Two ultraviolet radiation datasets are described in this paper. One contains hourly observations of UV radiation measured at 40 Chinese Ecosystem Research Network stations from 2005 to 2015. CUV3 broadband radiometers were used to observe the UV radiation, with an accuracy of 5%, which meets the World Meteorology Organization's measurement standards. The extremum method was used to control the quality of the measured datasets. The other dataset contains daily cumulative UV radiation estimates that were calculated using an all-sky estimation model combined with a hybrid model. The reconstructed daily UV radiation data span from 1961 to 2014. The mean absolute bias error and root-mean-square error are smaller than 30% at most stations, and most of the mean bias error values are negative, which indicates underestimation of the UV radiation intensity. These datasets can improve our basic knowledge of the spatial and temporal variations in UV radiation. 8Experimental analysis on the interaction between underground structures and sand layer under groundwater level change显示文摘Groundwater level change stands a momentous role in affecting the geotechnical construction stability and safety of underground structures.Global warming and active underground construction cause conspicuous changes in the groundwater level,which further leaves an impact on the underground structures’serviceability.To reveal the interaction between underground structure and soil under groundwater level change in the sand layer,model tests of circular transportation tunnel and rectangular utility tunnel were carried out.With the self-designed experimental equipment and innovative experimental methods,the changes in tunnel stress,bending moment,buoyancy,and vertical displacement of the rise and drawdown of the groundwater level in the sand layer were studied.The results revealed the developments of concentrated structural forces during the rising and falling process of the groundwater water level,indi-cating critical locations that should be strengthened.Meanwhile,both tunnels showed the same movement trend:settling first,floating afterwards and settling at last.And it is concluded that no reduction is required when calculating buoyancy in sands using measured pore pressure.Conclusions can provide a notable reference for future related research and engineering designs.Hanlong Liu Weixin Sun Yanmei Zhang Wengang Zhang Fucheng Han Weijia Su 2023Underground Space2023,,3:1
9A physics-informed data-driven model for landslide susceptibility assessment in the Three Gorges Reservoir area显示文摘Landslide susceptibility mapping is a crucial tool for analyzing geohazards in a region.Recent publications have popularized data-driven models,particularly machine learning-based methods,owing to their strong capability in dealing with complex nonlinear problems.However,a significant proportion of these models have neglected qualitative aspects during analysis,resulting in a lack of interpretability throughout the process and causing inaccuracies in the negative sample extraction.In this study,Scoops 3D was employed as a physics-informed tool to qualitatively assess slope stability in the study area(the Hubei Province section of the Three Gorges Reservoir Area).The non-landslide samples were extracted based on the calculated factor of safety(FS).Subsequently,the random forest algorithm was employed for data-driven landslide susceptibility analysis,with the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC)serving as the model evaluation index.Compared to the benchmark model(i.e.,the standard method of utilizing the pure random forest algorithm),the proposed method’s AUC value improved by 20.1%,validating the effectiveness of the dual-driven method(physics-informed data-driven).Songlin Liu Luqi Wang Wengang Zhang Weixin Sun Jie Fu Ting Xiao Zhenwei Dai 2023Geoscience Frontiers2023,14,5:1

12Delaminating Ti3C2 MXene by blossom of ZnIn2S4 microflowers for noble-metal-free photocatalytic hydrogen production显示文摘Herein,a novel strategy was exploited to achieve the delamination of TiCMXene multilayers into ultrathin flakes by blossom of ZnInSmicroflowers via a one-pot solvothermal method.There is no need to peel off the MXene bulk ahead of its combination with the semiconductor.The obtained ZnInS/TiCbinary composites were applied for visible-light-driven photocatalytic hydrogen production without noble metal cocatalyst,and the optimized sample exhibited a hydrogen-production efficiency of 978.7 μmol hgwith the corresponding apparent quantum efficiency of 24.2% at 420 nm,which was 2.7 times higher than bare ZnInS.Through the comprehensive analysis based on spectroscopy measurements,electrochemical techniques and energy band theory,such enhancement was mainly attributed to(1) the highly-exposed surface that was beneficial for the adequate exposure of reactive sites and(2)the intimate contact interface that favored the transfer of photogenerated carriers.This study provides a new way of thinking for synthesizing ultrathin MXene-based composite materials for noble-metal-free and highly-efficient photocatalysis applications.Weixin Huang Zhipeng Li Chao Wu Hanjie Zhang Jie Sun Qin Li 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,25:1

15Multi-Scale Convolutional Gated Recurrent Unit Networks for Tool Wear Prediction in Smart Manufacturing显示文摘As an integrated application of modern information technologies and artificial intelligence,Prognostic and Health Management(PHM)is important for machine health monitoring.Prediction of tool wear is one of the symbolic applications of PHM technology in modern manufacturing systems and industry.In this paper,a multi-scale Convolutional Gated Recurrent Unit network(MCGRU)is proposed to address raw sensory data for tool wear prediction.At the bottom of MCGRU,six parallel and independent branches with different kernel sizes are designed to form a multi-scale convolutional neural network,which augments the adaptability to features of different time scales.These features of different scales extracted from raw data are then fed into a Deep Gated Recurrent Unit network to capture long-term dependencies and learn significant representations.At the top of the MCGRU,a fully connected layer and a regression layer are built for cutting tool wear prediction.Two case studies are performed to verify the capability and effectiveness of the proposed MCGRU network and results show that MCGRU outperforms several state-of-the-art baseline models.Weixin Xu Huihui Miao Zhibin Zhao Jinxin Liu Chuang Sun Ruqiang Yan 2021Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2021,34,3:1

19Development of low-coherence high-power laser drivers for inertial confinement fusion显示文摘The use of low-coherence light is expected to be one of the effective ways to suppress or even eliminate the laser–plasma instabilities that arise in attempts to achieve inertial confinement fusion.In this paper,a review of low-coherence high-power laser drivers and related key techniques is first presented.Work at typical low-coherence laser facilities,including Gekko XII,PHEBUS,Pharos III,and Kanal-2 is described.The many key techniques that are used in the research and development of low-coherence laser drivers are described and analyzed,including low-coherence source generation,amplification,harmonic conversion,and beam smoothing of low-coherence light.Then,recent progress achieved by our group in research on a broadband low-coherence laser driver is presented.During the development of our low-coherence high-power laser facility,we have proposed and implemented many key techniques for working with low-coherence light,including source generation,efficient amplification and propagation,harmonic conversion,beam smoothing,and precise beam control.Based on a series of technological breakthroughs,a kilojoule low-coherence laser driver named Kunwu with a coherence time of only 300 fs has been built,and the first round of physical experiments has been completed.This high-power laser facility provides not only a demonstration and verification platform for key techniques and system integration of a low-coherence laser driver,but also a new type of experimental platform for research into,for example,high-energy-density physics and,in particular,laser–plasma interactions.Yanqi Gao Yong Cui Lailin Ji Daxing Rao Xiaohui Zhao Fujian Li Dong Liu Wei Feng Lan Xia Jiani Liu Haitao Shi Pengyuan Du Jia Liu Xiaoli Li Tao Wang Tianxiong Zhang Chong Shan Yilin Hua Weixin Ma Xun Sun Xianfeng Chen Xiuguang Huang Jian Zhu Wenbing Pei Zhan Sui Sizu Fu 2020Matter and Radiation at Extremes2020,5,6:1
