3Task-related functional magnetic resonance imaging-based neuronavigation for the treatment of depression by individualized repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation of the visual cortex显示文摘To determine whether repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation(rTMS)of the visual cortex(VC)provides effective and welltolerated treatment and whether magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)measures functional change of the VC as a biomarker of therapeutic effect in major depressive disorder(MDD),we performed a sham-controlled,double-blind,randomized,three-arm VC rTMS treatment study in 74 MDD patients.Neuronavigated rTMS(10 Hz,90%of resting motor threshold,1,600 pulses over20 min twice per day)was performed over the VC for five days.Clinical outcome was measured by Hamilton Depression Rating Scale(HAMD-24)at days 0,1,3,5 and after terminating rTMS,with follow-up at four weeks.MRI was measured at days 0 and5.The individualized group exhibited the greatest change in HAMD-24 scores after VC rTMS for 5 days(F=5.53,P=0.005),which were maintained during follow-up period(F=4.22,P=0.016).All patients reported good tolerance.Changes in VC taskrelated functional MRI correlated with symptomatic reduction in the individualized group.Treatment reduced the initially abnormal increase in resting state functional connectivity from the VC to the pre/subgenual anterior cingulate cortex at day 5,especially in the individualized group.We demonstrated therapeutic potential and good tolerance of VC rTMS in MDD patients,indicated by biomarkers of f MRI measurement.Zhijun Zhang Hongxing Zhang Chun-Ming Xie Meng Zhang Yachen Shi Ruize Song Xiang Lu Haisan Zhang Kun Li Bi Wang Yongfeng Yang Xianrui Li Jianli Zhu Yang Zhao Ti-Fei Yuan Georg Northoff 2021Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,1:8
4Fabrication and characterization of biodegradable Mg-Zn-Y-Nd-Ag alloy:Microstructure,mechanical properties,corrosion behavior and antibacterial activities显示文摘Magnesium(Mg),a potential biodegradable material,has drawn wide attention in the bone reconstruction field.However,Mg alloys,served as the bone graft substitution,remain a clinical challenge,the antibacterial activity of which is required to be enhanced.Here,we prepared biodegradable magnesium Mg-Zn-Y-Nd-Ag and then had it been further densified by extruding.The microstructure evolution of the as-cast and as-extruded Mg-Zn-Y-Nd-Ag was characterized using optical microscope and X-ray diffraction analyses(XRD).The results showed that the microstructure of the as-cast alloys was mainly dendrites,between which,the second phase was mainly distributed;with the increase of Ag additions,grain structure was further refined as well as the increase of amount of the second phase.After the extrusion,the grains were further refined.Microhardness tests indicated that both of the increase of Ag content and the extrusion process improved the microhardness of the alloys,specially the later.A systematic investigation of the in vivo antibacterial capability of Staphylococcus aurous and Escherichia coli was performed,and the results of which indicated that all Mg-Zn-Y-N-xAg(x?0.2,0.4,0.6,0.8)alloys exhibited certain antibacterial property,which would increased with the increase of Ag content.Taken all together,the antimicrobial property of the as-extruded alloy containing 0.4 wt%Ag exhibited the relatively better antimicrobial properties and mechanical property with the relatively small loss in corrosion resistance,which suggested the potential utility of as-extruded Mg-Zn-Y-N-0.4Ag in treating orthopedic infections.Yashan Feng Shijie Zhu Liguo Wang Lei Chang Yachen Hou Shaokang Guan 2018Bioactive Materials2018,3,3:7
5Downregulation of caveolin-1 contributes to the synaptic plasticity deficit in the hippocampus of aged rats显示文摘Caveolin-1 is involved in the regulation of synaptic plasticity,but the relationship between its expression and cognitive function during aging remains controversial.To explore the relationship between synaptic plasticity in the aging process and changes in learning and memory,we examined caveolin-1 expression in the hippocampus,cortex and cerebellum of rats at different ages.We also examined the relationship between the expression of caveolin-1 and synaptophysin,a marker of synaptic plasticity.Hippocampal caveolin-1 and synaptophysin expression in aged(22–24 month old)rats was significantly lower than that in young(1 month old)and adult(4 months old)rats.Expression levels of both proteins were significantly greater in the cortex of aged rats than in that of young or adult rats,and levels were similar between the three age groups in the cerebellum.Linear regression analysis revealed that hippocampal expression of synaptophysin was associated with memory and learning abilities.Moreover,synaptophysin expression correlated positively with caveolin-1 expression in the hippocampus,cortex and cerebellum.These results confirm that caveolin-1 has a regulatory effect on synaptic plasticity,and suggest that the downregulation of hippocampal caveolin-1 expression causes a decrease in synaptic plasticity during physiological aging.Yang Liu Zhanhua Liang Jing Liu Wei Zou Xiaoyan Li Yachen Wang Lijia An 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,29:6
6Diffusion and sound absorption properties of the quadratic residue diffuser structure with perforated panel显示文摘Acoustic structure study always is the academic research interest. Diffusion ab?sorbing structure(DiflFsorber) has good research value because it has both diflFusion property and sound absorption property. Quadratic residue diffusers(QRD) structure which had good diffusion property was combined with the perforated panel which had good sound absorption property in this study. According to standard AES-4id-2001, the diffusion experiments were carried out to study QRD structure and ones composited with perforated-panels which had1 mm-thickness and perforated percentage of 3%, 5%, 8% respectively. The polar coordinate diagrams of different structure were analyzed to derive the diffusion coefficients. Results showed that the composite structure still had good diffusion performance in the frequency range from100 Hz to 800 Hz. 11Phenological records in Guanzhong Area in central China between 600 and 902 AD as proxy for winter half-year temperature reconstruction显示文摘Phenological data obtained from historical documents constitute highly important ecological evidence for the pre-instrumental period, and can be used in analyzing climatic change in history. In this study, 87 phenological records about seasonality of non-biological events(e.g., first frost date), agriculture and ornamental plants(e.g., first flowering date) over 77 years were extracted from historical documents from the Sui and Tang dynasties in China to reconstruct the winter half-year(from October to next April) temperatures in the Guanzhong Area(located in central China) from 600 to 902 AD. Transfer functions between temperature and phenophases with significant correlations were established by using modern observation data. Temperatures from the study period were reconstructed by applying the transfer functions to historical phenological data. The reconstruction indicates that the winter half-year temperatures during 600–902 AD were 0.23°C higher than the reference period(1961–1990). The temperature changed with two distinct stages. During the 600s–800s, temperatures were approximately 0.38°C higher than at present but then temperatures decreased in the subsequent period(800–902 AD). These results are similar to ones from previous studies on the mean temperature and the divisions between warm and cold periods during the study period, though differences were found in the degree of warmness/coldness. 17In vitro degradation and surface bioactivity of iron-matrix composites containing silicate-based bioceramic显示文摘Iron-matrix composites with calcium silicate(CS)bioceramic as the reinforcing phase were fabricated through powder metallurgy processes.The microstructures,mechanical properties,apatite deposition and biodegradation behavior of the Fe-CS composites,as well as cell attachment and proliferation on their surfaces,were characterized.In the range of CS weight percentages selected in this study,the composites possessed compact structures and showed differently decreased bending strengths as compared with pure iron.Immersion tests in simulated body fluid(SBF)revealed substantially enhanced deposition of CaP on the surfaces of the composites as well as enhanced degradation rates as compared with pure iron.In addition,the composite containing 20%CS showed a superior ability to stimulate hBMSCs proliferation when compared to pure iron.Our results suggest that incorporating calcium silicate particles into iron could be an effective approach to developing iron-based biodegradable bone implants with improved biomedical performance.Sanguo Wang Yachen Xu Jie Zhou Haiyan Li Jiang Chang Zhiguang Huan 2017Bioactive Materials2017,2,1:1
18Seasonal characteristics and provenance of organic aerosols in the urban atmosphere of Liaocheng in the North China Plain:Significant effect of biomass burning显示文摘To better understand the seasonal characteristics of urban organic aerosol(OA)in the North China Plain(NCP),PM2.5 samples in the urban atmosphere of Liaocheng were collected and analyzed.The molecular distribution of the organic markers in the urban atmosphere of Liaocheng reveals that n-alkanes(39.3%)was the most abundant species all year round,followed by saccharides(28.2%),phthalic acids(Ph,20.8%),biogenic secondary organic aerosol(BSOA)tracers(9.4%),and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon(PAHs,2.3%).PM2.5,organic carbon(OC),elemental carbon(EC),and primary organic markers exhibit the highest concentrations in winter,due largely to the increased biomass burning and coal combustion for house heating in local and surrounding regions.However,the concentration and relative abundance of BSOA are significantly higher in summer than other seasons,induced by the more favorable meteoro-logical conditions that would promote the emissions of biogenic volatile organic compounds(BVOCs)and the secondary production of BSOA.The ratios of OC/EC and 3-methyl-1,2,3-butanetricarboxylic acid to cis-pinic acid plus cis-pinonic acid(MBTCA/(PA+PNA)are higher in the warm seasons than those in the cold seasons,indicating that the oxidation of OA is sensitive to air temperature.Compared to 2017,the concentration level of PAHs during wintertime decreased by 40.8%,confirming that the stringent regulation of coal burning is effective.The highest concentration of high molecular weight(HMW)n-alkanes and three anhydrosugars in winter,and the close correlation of levoglucosan with HMW n-al-kanes suggests that the impact of biomass burning was more significant in winter.The same seasonal characteristic of the ratios of high-/low-NO_(x) products with NO_(x) and the strong correlation of high-/low-NO_(x) products with levoglucosan indicate that the formation of isoprene SOA(SOA1)tracers was signif-icantly influenced by anthropogenic emissions.The molecular compositions,the distributions of fire spots,backward trajectories of air masses,and correlation analysis suggest that air pollution events in spring were primarily resulted from biomass burning and secondary oxidation,while pollution events in winter were largely driven by the increased combustion sources,and promoted aqueous secondary formation.Our results suggest that the reduction of biomass and coal combustion should be taken into account to improve the urban air quality in the NCP.Yuanyuan Li Min Chen Yachen Wang Tonglin Huang Gehui Wang Zheng Li Jianjun Li jingjing Meng Zhanfang Hou 2023Particuology2023,,4:0
19Effect of cOVID-19 lockdown on the characterization and mixing state of carbonaceous particles in the urban atmosphere of Liaocheng, the North China Plain显示文摘To investigate the effect of covID-19 control measures on aerosol chemistry,the chemical compositions,mixing states,and formation mechanisms of carbonaceous particles in the urban atmosphere of Liao-cheng in the North China Plain(NCP)were compared before and during the pandemic using a single particle aerosol mass spectrometry(SPAMS).The results showed that the concentrations of five air pollutants including PM2.5,PM1o,SO2,NO2,and cO decreased by 41.2%-71.5%during the pandemic compared to those before the pandemic,whereas O3 increased by 1.3 times during the pandemic because of the depressed titration of O3 and more favorable meteorological conditions.The count and percentage contribution of carbonaceous particles in the total detected particles were lower during the pandemic than those before the pandemic.The carbonaceous particles were dominated by elemental and organic carbon(ECOC,35.9%),followed by elemental carbon-aged(EC-aged,19.6%)and organic carbon-fresh(OC-fresh,13.5%)before the pandemic,while EC-aged(25.3%),ECOC(17.9%),and secondary ions-rich(SEC,17.8%)became the predominant species during the pandemic.The carbonaceous particle sizes during the pandemic showed a broader distribution than that before the pandemic,due to the condensation and coagulation of carbonaceous particles in the aging processes.The relative aerosol acidity(Rra)was smaller before the pandemic than that during the pandemic,indicating the more acidic particle aerosol during the pandemic closely related to the secondary species and relative humidity(RH).More than 95.0%and 86.0%of carbonaceous particles in the whole period were internally mixed with nitrate and sulfate,implying that most of the carbonaceous particles were associated with secondary oxidation during their formation processes.The diurnal variations of oxalate particles and correlation analyses suggested that oxalate particles before the pandemic were derived from aqueous oxidation driven by RH and liquid water content(LwC),while oxalate particles during the pandemic were originated from O3-dominatedphotochemical oxidation.Min Chen Jingjing Meng Yuanyuan Li Yachen Wang Tonglin Huang Zheng Li Xiaohan Song Can Wu Zhanfang Hou 2023Particuology2023,,7:0
20Nanomaterials for Cardiac Tissue Engineering Application显示文摘In recent years, the emerging cardiac tissue engineering provides a new therapeutic method for heart diseases. And in the tissue engineering, the scaffold material which can mimic the structure of the extracellular matrix properly is a key factor. The rapid expansion of nano-scaffolds during the past ten years has led to new perspectives and advances in biomedical research as well as in clinical practice. Here we search articles published in recent years extensively on cardiac tissue engineering scaffold materials and nanotechnology. And we review the traditional scaffold materials and the advances of the nano-scaffolds in cardiac tissue engineering.
