1Molecular, Functional, and Structural Imaging of Major Depressive Disorder显示文摘Major depressive disorder(MDD) is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide,correlating with genetic susceptibility and environmental risk factors.Molecular,functional,and structural imaging approaches have been increasingly used to detect neurobiological changes,analyze neurochemical correlates,and parse pathophysiological mechanisms underlying MDD.We reviewed recent neuroimaging publications on MDD in terms of molecular,functional,and structural alterations as detected mainly by magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) and positron emission tomography.Altered structure and function of brain regions involved in the cognitive control of affective state have been demonstrated.An abnormal default mode network,as revealed by resting-state functional MRI,is likely associated with aberrant metabolicand serotonergic function revealed by radionuclide imaging.Further multi-modal investigations are essential to clarify the characteristics of the cortical network and serotonergic system associated with behavioral and genetic variations in MDD.Kai Zhang Yunqi Zhu Yuankai Zhu Shuang Wu Hao Liu Wei Zhang Caiyun Xu Hong Zhang Takuya Hayashi Mei Tian 2016Neuroscience Bulletin2016,32,3:9

3Identification of petroleum aromatic fraction by comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography with time-of-flight mass spectrometry显示文摘Comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography coupled with time-of-flight mass spectrometry(GC×GC-TOFMS) is commercially available in the 1990s,with the characteristics of large peak capacity,high resolution,high sensitivity,etc.However,its application to the petroleum and geological analyses is just emerging in China and overseas.In this research,the analytical method for petroleum aromatic fraction using GC×GC-TOFMS is set up,via the choice of the column system and optimization of setting parameters,such as temperature programming,modulation time,hot pulse time,flow rate of carrier gas,data acquisition rate and data processing.The results indicate that different polar compounds of aromatic fraction distribute as bands on structured GC×GC chromatogram.Within each band,homologous compounds appear as a roof-tile structure based on the number of substituent residues.The aromatic compounds are identified and characterized according to the GC×GC chromatogram and mass spectra.According to the polarity and the number of rings,aromatic compounds are spatially present on one chromatogram,which directly reflects the distribution characteristics of complex compounds of aromatic hydrocarbons.In addition,quantitative analysis is favored as some overlapped peaks on traditional GC-MS chromatogram have been separated completely on GC×GC.Some heterocyclic atom aromatic compounds at trace level can be clearly identified using this method,for polarity differences from other interfered aromatic compounds.The development of this method and chromatogram recognition offer petroleum geologists a practical example for the application performance of GC×GC-TOFMS.WANG HuiTong WENG Na ZHANG ShuiChang ZHU GuangYou CHEN JianPing WEI CaiYun 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,19:6
4Comparison of geochemical parameters derived from comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography with time-of-flight mass spectrometry and conventional gas chromatography-mass spectrometry显示文摘The saturated and aromatic hydrocarbon fractions of crude oil samples have been analyzed by using comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography with time-of-flight mass spectrometry (GC×GC-TOFMS) and conventional gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). In order to investigate the consistency and discrepancy of the obtained data from the two instruments, some petroleum geochemical parameters have been compared. A comparison of 23 geochemical parameters indicates that 10 parameters are comparable from the two instruments with less than 5% deviations. Therefore, GC×GC-TOFMS is equivalent to conventional GC-MS in some geochemical parameter acquisitions. However, the other 13 parameters are discrepant, including gammacerane / αβ-hopane, Ts/Tm, 2-ethyl-naphthalene / 1-ethyl-naphthalene (ENR), (2, 6-dimethyl-naphthalene +2,7-dimethyl-naphthalene) / 1,5-dimethyl-naphthalene (DNR), etc. Furthermore, compared to GC× GC-TOFMS, some low concentration compounds could not be detected by the conventional GC-MS, which results in the missing of related geochemical data. Normally, this is caused by the limited separation power and peak capacity of the conventional GC column. Besides, the co-eluting peak integrations are also affected significantly due to the incomplete separation of the compounds. Some low concentration compounds might not be detected because of the interference from the baseline noise or from other substances. GC×GC-TOFMS prevails in compound separation against the conventional GC-MS by avoiding co-elution, which achieves more accurate and precise peak area measurement with the presence of a true baseline. So petroleum geochemical parameters obtained from the GC×GC-TOFMS are more reliable than those from the conventional GC-MS. 10Population transcriptomics reveals a potentially positive role of expression diversity in adaptation显示文摘While it is widely accepted that genetic diversity determines the potential of adaptation,the role that gene expression variation plays in adaptation remains poorly known.Here we show that gene expression diversity could have played a positive role in the adaptation of Miscanthus lutarioriparius.RNA-seq was conducted for 80 individuals of the species,with half planted in the energy crop domestication site and the other half planted in the control site near native habitats.A leaf reference transcriptome consisting of 18,503 high-quality transcripts was obtained using a pipeline developed for de novo assembling with population RNA-seq data.The population structure and genetic diversity of M.lutarioriparius were estimated based on 30,609 genic single nucleotide polymorphisms.Population expression(Ep) and expression diversity(Ed)were defined to measure the average level and the magnitude of variation of a gene expression in the population,respectively.It was found that expression diversity increased while genetic Resediversity decreased after the species was transplanted from the native habitats to the harsh domestication site,especially for genes involved in abiotic stress resistance,histone methylation,and biomass synthesis under water limitation.The increased expression diversity could have enriched phenotypic variation directly subject to selections in the new environment.Qin Xu Shilai Xing Caiyun Zhu Wei Liu Yangyang Fan Qian Wang Zhihong Song Wenhui Yang Fan Luo Fei Shang Lifang Kang Wenli Chen Juan Yan Jianqiang Li Tao Sang 2015Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2015,57,3:1
11Controlling the morphology, size and phase of Nb_2O_5 crystals for high electrochemical performance显示文摘The morphology, size and phase of the material play a crucial role in its electrochemical performance.Herein, the nano-sized niobium pentoxide(Nb_2O_5) with different morphologies and phase structures are synthesized through a very simple thermal treatment method, including the pseudo hexagonal Nb_2O_5 nanosheets and pseudo hexagonal Nb_2O_5 nanoparticles, orthorhombic Nb_2O_5 nanoparticles. The synthesized pseudohexagonal Nb2O5 nanosheets and orthorhombic Nb_2O_5 nanoparticles exhibit better cycling and rate performance than the pseudohexagonal Nb2 O5 nanoparticles due to the different morphologies and phase structures. The T-Nb_2O_5-700 nanoparticles show the higher capacity(175 mAh/g) than that of TT-Nb_2O_5-500 nanosheets(127 mAh/g) and TT-Nb_2O_5-600 nanoparticles(39 mAh/g) at a current density of 50 mA/g and good rate performance with a capacity of 140 mAh/g at 1.0 A/g. The excellent rate capability and cycling stability of orthorhombic T-Nb_2O_5 may be ascribed to the dominant contribution of pseudocapacitive effect. 12Flexible quasi-solid-state dual-ion asymmetric supercapacitor based on Ni(OH)2 and Nb2O5 nanosheet arrays显示文摘Increasing the energy density, power density as well as widening the operation voltage are essential to electrochemical capacitors to meet the practical energy demands. Herein, a novel flexible quasi-solid-state dual-ion asymmetric supercapacitor(ASC) with Ni(OH)2 and Nb2O5 nanosheets directly grown on stainless steel mesh is developed. In the dual-ion ASC, Nb2O5 negative and Ni(OH)2 positive electrodes react with Li+ and OH- respectively in alkaline gel electrolyte to store energy, which is quite different from conventional alkali metal ion SCs and alkaline SCs. The as-assembled flexible device has an extended working voltage of 1.7 V and delivers a capacity of 5.37 mAh cm-2, a maximum energy density and power density of 0.52 mWh cm-3 and 170 mW cm-3 , respectively. The device maintains around 60% capacity retention after long cycling up to 1000 cycles. Moreover, our device can light up a LED light efficiently upon fast charging. 13A new analytical method for quantifying of sterane and hopane biomarkers显示文摘An analytical method for quantifying biomarker compounds of the sterane and the hopane existing in saturated hydrocarbons has been established by using comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography-flame ionization detector(GC×GC-FID) with optimized operating parameters. The new method achieves the quantification by using a GC×GC-FID system which is able to completely separate steranes from hopanes. The data obtained by the new method are of good repeatability and reliability. Compared with the original data, the relative standard deviations(RSDs) of 12 reference compounds are less than 5%. The RSDs of the quantitative results of the biomarkers based on seven separate analyses are also less than 5%. Compared with the traditional method of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS), the new method has a number of advantages, such as common internal standards(ISs), high resolution, no co-eluting peak, and no interference caused by diagnostic ion peaks. 15Electrochemical CO2 reduction over nitrogen-doped SnO2 crystal surfaces显示文摘Crystal planes of a catalyst play crucial role in determining the electrocatalytic performance for CO2 reduction.The catalyst SnO2 can convert CO2 molecules into valuable formic acid(HCOOH).Incorporating heteroatom N into SnO2 further improves its catalytic activity.To understand the mechanism and realize a highly efficient CO2-to-HCOOH conversion,we used density functional theory(DFT)to calculate the free energy of CO2 reduction reactions(CO2RR)on different crystal planes of N-doped SnO2(N-SnO2).The results indicate that N-SnO2 lowered the activation energy of intermediates leading to a better catalytic performance than pure SnO2.We also discovered that the N-Sn O2 (211)plane possesses the most suitable free energy during the reduction process,exhibiting the best catalytic ability for the CO2-to-HCOOH conversion.The intermediate of CO2RR on N-SnO2 is HCOO*or COOH* instead of OCHO*.These results may provide useful insights into the mechanism of CO2RR,and promote the development of heteroatomdoped catalyst for efficient CO2RR.Yuefeng Zhang Jianjun Liu Zengxi Wei Quanhui Liu Caiyun Wang Jianmin Ma 2019Journal of Energy Chemistry2019,28,6:1
16Estimating the Economic Effects of the Early Covid-19Emergency Response in Cities Using Intracity Travel Intensity Data显示文摘In the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic,China implemented the most stringent and serious emergency response.To understand the effect of such an emergency response strategy on the economic system,this study proposed a simultaneous overall estimation method using intracity travel intensity data.The overall effect is represented by the difference between intracity travel intensity with and without the emergency response.Using historical data and time series analysis,we compared intracity travel intensity post China’s implementation of the emergency response with predicted intracity travel intensity without such a response.The loss rates,defined by the proportion of intracity travel intensity loss,were calculated for 360 cities within 33 provincial-level regions in China based on data availability.We found that 30 days after the emergency response,21% of the cities saw over 80% recovery and 10% of the cities showed more than 90% recovery;45 days after the emergency response,more than 83% of the 360 cities witnessed 80% recovery.The correlation between gross domestic production loss rate and travel intensity loss rate was studied quantitatively to demonstrate the representativeness of the intracity travel intensity loss rate.This indicator was also used to analyze the spatial and temporal patterns of the effects on the economy.The results of this study can help us understand the economic effects caused by the early Covid-19 emergency response and the method can be a reference for fast and real-time economic loss estimation to support emergency response decision making under pandemic conditions.Lijiao Yang Caiyun Wei Xinyu Jiang Qian Ye Hirokazu Tatano 2022International Journal of Disaster Risk Science2022,13,1:1

18MTBSTFA derivatization-LC-MS/MS approach for the quantitative analysis of endogenous nucleotides in human colorectal carcinoma cells显示文摘Endogenous ribonucleotides(RNs)and deoxyribonucleotides(dRNs)are important metabolites related to the pathogenesis of many diseases.In light of their physiological and pathological significances,a novel and sensitive pre-column derivatization method with N-(t-butyldimethylsilyl)-N-methyltrifluoroacetamide(MTBSTFA)was developed to determine RNs and dRNs in human cells using high-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry(HPLC-MS/MS).A one-step extraction of cells with 85%methanol followed by a simple derivatization reaction within 5 min at room temperature contributed to shortened analysis time.The derivatives of 22 nucleoside mono-,di-and tri-phosphates were retained on the typical C;column and eluted by ammonium acetate and acetonitrile in 9 min.Under these optimal conditions,good linearity was achieved in the tested calibration ranges.The lower limit of quantitation(LLOQ)was determined to be 0.1-0.4μM for the tested RNs and 0.001-0.1μM for dRNs.In addition,the precision(CV)was<15%and the RSD of stability was lower than 10.4%.Furthermore,this method was applied to quantify the endogenous nucleotides in human colorectal carcinoma cell lines HCT 116 exposed to 10-hydroxycamptothecin.In conclusion,our method has proven to be simple,rapid,sensitive,and reliable.It may be used for specific expanded studies on intracellular pharmacology in vitro.Huixia Zhang Yan Li Zheng Li Christopher Wai-Kei Lam Peng Zhu Caiyun Wang Hua Zhou Wei Zhang 2022Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2022,12,1:0
19Ag-assisted CeO2 catalyst for soot oxidation显示文摘In this work,the Ag loaded Ce-based catalyst was synthesized(by the sol-gel method)and its performance was studied by TG,H2-TPR,XRD,SEM,TEM,BET and XPS.The results show that Ag nanoparticles be successfully loaded onto the CeO2 surface and the relative content of Ag nanoparticles is about 10.22 wt.%close to the theoretical value(10%).XPS shows that Ag nanoparticles induce a great number of oxygen vacancies in the CeO2 lattice through the electronic transfer,and H2-TPR indicates that the Ag-assisted CeO2 catalyst exhibits a better reduction performance and Ag nanoparticles can promote O^- transform into O2^-.The catalytic activity for soot oxidation was studied by TG under air atmosphere and the activity was found to be obviously enhanced when Ag nanoparticles be load on the surface of CeO2(T10=386℃,79o=472.5℃,Tm=431℃).The reaction mechanism was also presented and Oi species is regarded as the determinant factor for the catalytic activity.Lirong ZENG Lan CUI Caiyun WANG Wei GUO Cairong GONG 2019Frontiers of Materials Science2019,13,3:0
