2Progress in the stratigraphy and geochronology of the Shuidonggou site,Ningxia,North China显示文摘In the past years we carried out further stratigraphy division in field and it is found that rich stone artifacts can be found in fluvial-shallow lake-alluvial sediments on the terrace Ⅱ of Biangou River, in Shuidonggou site, Ningxia and they are SDG1, 2 and 7. More luminescence and AMS 14C dating in laboratory show that Paleolithic culture develops during the Upper Paleolithic period with ages of 35―20 ka. The Paleolithic culture of SDG 1 is a little earlier than that of SDG 2 similar to SDG 7. The sandy sediments on terrace Ⅱ of Biangou River deposits in the past 72―18 ka, corresponding to Last Glacial. 3CFD Investigations of Ship Maneuvering in Waves Using naoe-FOAM-SJTU Solver显示文摘Ship maneuvering in waves includes the performance of ship resistance, seakeeping, propulsion, and maneuverability. It is a complex hydrodynamic problem with the interaction of many factors. With the purpose of directly predicting the behavior of ship maneuvering in waves, a CFD solver named naoe-FOAM-SJTU is developed by the Computational Marine Hydrodynamics Lab(CMHL) in Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The solver is based on open source platform OpenFOAM and has introduced dynamic overset grid technology to handle complex ship hull-propeller-rudder motion system. Maneuvering control module based on feedback control mechanism is also developed to accurately simulate corresponding motion behavior of free running ship maneuver. Inlet boundary wavemaker and relaxation zone technique is used to generate desired waves. Based on the developed modules, unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS) computations are carried out for several validation cases of free running ship maneuver in waves including zigzag, turning circle, and course keeping maneuvers. The simulation results are compared with available benchmark data. Ship motions, trajectories, and other maneuvering parameters are consistent with available experimental data, which indicate that the present solver can be suitable and reliable in predicting the performance of ship maneuvering in waves. Flow visualizations, such as free surface elevation, wake flow, vortical structures, are presented to explain the hydrodynamic performance of ship maneuvering in waves. Large flow separation can be observed around propellers and rudders. It is concluded that RANS approach is not accurate enough for predicting ship maneuvering in waves with large flow separations and detached eddy simulation(DES) or large eddy simulation(LES) computations are required to improve the prediction accuracy.Jianhua Wang Decheng Wan 2018Journal of Marine Science and Application2018,17,3:12
4An engraved artifact from Shuidonggou,an Early Late Paleolithic Site in Northwest China显示文摘Cognition and symbolic thinking are viewed as important features of modern human behavior.Engraved objects are seen as a hallmark of cognition and symbolism,and even as evidence for language.Accumulated evidences including engraved bones,ochre,ostrich eggshells and stone artifacts were unearthed from Africa,Europe,Levant even Siberia Paleolithic sites.But the archaeological evidence for this,including beads,ornaments,burials,performed objects and engraved objects,is rarely discovered in the Pleistocene of East Asia.The present paper reports an engraved stone object unearthed in the Early Late Paleolithic levels about 30 ka BP at the Shuidonggou site(SDG) in northwestern China.It was unearthed in the 1980's excavation from Lower culture unit of SDG1 but was identified in 2011 when the first author of this article observed the collection from the 1980's excavations stored in the Institute of Archaeology of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region for further detailed lithic analysis.This lithic artifact is the first engraved non-organic object of the Paleolithic period found in China.In order to clarify the details of the incisions and to document the human intentional modifications,we used a KEYENCE VHX-600 Digital Microscope to measure and observe all the incisions in 3-dimensional perspective.Comparing the natural cracks and analyzing many details of the incisions,we argue that incisions on this stone artifact are the result of intentional behaviors by ancient humans.Also,we exclude the possible other causes including animal-induced damages,post-depositional phenomenon and unintentional by-products.Combining all these features,we suggest that the incisions were made by an intentional behavior and were probably of a non-utilitarian character.Because the nature of most other engraved objects in China is debate,we cannot get a clear scenario of the emergence and progress of modern human behavior in North China.But we infer the possible existence of a counting or recording system,or other symbolic behaviors,which reflect considerably evolved cognitive capacities or modern human behavior in the Early Late Paleolithic of East Asia.PENG Fei GAO Xing WANG HuiMin CHEN FuYou LIU DeCheng PEI ShuWen 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,35:8
5Neuroprotective effects of the immunodepressant FTY720 on caspase-3 expression and neural apoptosis in a rat model of acute spinal cord injury显示文摘BACKGROUND:Studies on the immunodepressant FTY720 have primarily focused on organ transplantation and autoimmune disease therapy.However,the effects on caspase-3 expression and neural apoptosis following acute spinal cord injury remain uncertain.OBJECTIVE:To elucidate the underlying mechanism of the immunodepressant FTY720 to alleviate spinal cord injury by inhibiting expression of caspase-3 and neural apoptosis.DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:A randomized,controlled,animal experiment was performed at Central Laboratory of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University from April to July 2009.MATERIALS:FTY720 was provided by Wuhan Yuancheng Technology Developing,China.METHODS:A total of 120 Sprague Dawley rats were randomly assigned to sham-surgery,model,and FTY720 groups.Spinal cord injury at the T9-10 segment was induced in model groups using the free-fall method.Following establishment of spinal cord injury at the T9-10 segment in the FTY720 group,rats were treated with an intragastric injection of 0.3 mL saline-diluted FTY720 (3 mg/kg).MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:At 6,12,24,48,and 72 hours following spinal cord injury,caspase-3 expression was detected using streptavidin-peroxidase immunohistochemistry,and neural apoptosis was detected using the TUNEL method.RESULTS:Positive caspase-3 expression and neural apoptosis was not observed in the sham-surgery group at the various time points.The number of apoptotic cells increased with time after acute spinal cord injury,peaked at 24 hours following injury,and then gradually reduced.However,neural apoptosis remained at a high level.Caspase-3 expression positively correlated with neural apoptosis (r=0.864,P < 0.05).Caspase-3 expression and neural apoptosis significantly decreased following FTY720 therapy (P < 0.05).CONCLUSION:FTY720 significantly reduced caspase-3 expression and neural apoptosis in a rat model of acute spinal cord injury.Liang Yang Decheng Lü Lianjie Zheng Zhaohui Wang Kai Tang Wei Zhang Xiaotian Li 2010Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,9:7
6Zooarchaeological perspective on the Broad Spectrum Revolution in the Pleistocene-Holocene transitional period,with evidence from Shuidonggou Locality 12,China显示文摘Based on optimal foraging theory,prey animals from the Shuidonggou Locality 12(SDG12) are divided into three types according to body size and defense traits:high-ranked large game,low-ranked slow small game,and low-ranked fast small game.Application of the Reciprocal of Simpson's Index to the three types of animals from SDG12 yields a relatively high level of evenness,which implies a broader meat diet of the SDG12 hominids.Compared to values of taxonomic evenness from Mediterranean sites,it is suggested that this dietary expansion probably resulted from the occurrence of the Broad Spectrum Revolution rather than from climatic changes in the Shuidonggou area.Comparative studies between the Natufian phases in Hayonim Cave and the SDG12 validate this argument.ZHANG Yue ZHANG ShuangQuan XU Xin LIU DeCheng WANG ChunXue PEI ShuWen WANG HuiMin GAO Xing 2013Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,9:5

8Optimization of binder addition and compression load for pelletization of wheat straw using response surface methodology显示文摘Densification is required for efficiently handling and transporting biomass as feedstock for biofuel production.Binders can enhance straw pellet strength and improve the pellet performance.The present investigation aimed to optimize binders and compression load for wheat straw pelletization using a single pelleting unit.Response surface methodology was employed by using a four-factor,five-level central composite design with wood residue(%,w/w),bentonite(%,w/w),crude glycerol(%,w/w),and compression load(N)as process parameters.The pellet tensile strength,specific energy consumption of pelleting,and pellet density were the response variables.The higher heating value,ash content of the pellet product and the cost of the feedstock were also considered in optimizing binder addition.The developed model fitted the data and was adequate for binder analysis and optimization.Wheat straw pellet,with the addition of 30% wood residue,0.80% bentonite,and 3.42% crude glycerol,in addition to 4000 N of compressive load,was identified as optimal with good performance of pellet tensile strength(1.14 MPa),specific energy consumption(32.6 kJ/kg),and pellet density(1094 kg/m^(3))as well as low ash content(6.13%)and high heating value(18.64 MJ/kg).Confirmation tests indicated high accuracy of the model.Lu Donghui Lope G.Tabil Wang Decheng Wang Guanghui Wang Zhiqin 2014International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2014,7,6:4

10Nanoparticles-modified polymer-based solar-reflective coating as a cooling overlay for asphalt pavement显示文摘The phenomenon of rutting is one of the most serious problems on asphalt pavements.Decreasing the surface temperature of the asphalt pavement is an effective method to solve the rutting problem on asphalt pavements.In this study,a nano-sized-particlesfilled polymer composite was developed as an overlay to reflect solar energy and decrease the surface temperature of asphalt pavements.The overlay was composed of acrylic or epoxy resin filled with nano TiO_(2) or nano TiNO_(2).The solar reflection of the nanoparticle-filled polymers was tested,and the results showed that solar reflection effectiveness of the TiO_(2)/acrylic composite reached the highest value.The results of outdoor temperature tests indicate that the solar-reflective overlay could decrease the surface temperature of asphalt pavements by about 10℃ when the pavement temperature is about 60℃.He Wang Jing Zhong Decheng Feng Jing Meng Ning Xie 2013International Journal of Smart and Nano Materials2013,4,2:3

12Analysis on Forest Tending Subsidies Policy in China显示文摘The shortage of forest tending funds in China has caused the retarded thinning for those forests that need urgently the tending thinning, which in turn has a negative impact on the implementation of forest management activities and results in the poor state of forest quality, function and healthy. This paper analyzed the necessity to implement forest tending subsidies, concluded the experience abroad, and proposed some policy recommendations on how to implement forest tending subsidies in China. It was indicated that forest tending subsidy policy should be fully implemented for a long time in China; the funds for forest tending subsidies should be obtained from multiple sources and multiple forms explored. The focus of the subsidy should be put on how to mobilize the enthusiasms of forest farms and forest farmers to engage in forest tending as well as on its ecological effects and livelihood benefits. 13Fabrication of Fe Nanoparticles into N-doped Mesoporous Carbon Nanotube Derived from Rice-Like Fe/N-MOF and Its ORR Catalytic Performance for MFC显示文摘The development of non-noble metal oxidation reduction catalysts(ORR)to improve microbial fuel cell(MFC)performance remains extremely challenging.Herein,the nitrogen-doped iron-based porous carbon nanotube Fe/N@MC-T ORR catalysts were derived from Fe/N-MOF by pyrolyzation using acetonitrile as the nitrogen precursor in a low-cost organic solvent.The Fe/N@MC-T catalysts under different pyrolysis temperatures were characterized by SEM,TEM,BET,XRD,and XPS techniques.Fe/N-MOF showed a smooth rice-like structure with a particle size of about 400×50 nm^(2).The Fe species in Fe/N@MC-T mainly exists in the form of zero-valent iron with a small amount of Fe3C.The results of electrochemical tests revealed that the onset and half-wave potentials of Fe/N@MC-700 were 0.89 V and 0.80 V,respectively,which were only slightly lower than those of the commercial Pt/C(0.92 V and 0.82 V).The MFC with Fe/N@MC-700 showed a highest power density of 864.1 mW/m^(2),which was about 2.25 times that of MFC with carbon cloth,and was slightly lower than that of MFC with Pt/C(20%)(1002.0 mW/m^(2)),which demonstrated that the Fe particles wrapped in carbon nanotubes possessed a relatively high ORR activity.Lu Decheng Wang Wenyi Chang Jiacheng Wang Xueqin Wang Yuanyuan Song Hua 2021China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2021,23,2:2
14Single amino acid substitution of VP1 N17D or VP2 H145Y confers acid-resistant phenotype of type Asia1 foot-and-mouth disease virus显示文摘Infection by foot-and-mouth disease virus(FMDV) is triggered by the acidic pH in endosomes after virus uptake by receptor-mediated endocytosis. However, dissociation of the FMDV 146S particle in mildly acidic conditions renders inactivated foot-and-mouth disease(FMD) vaccines much less effective. Type Asia1 FMDV mutants with increased resistance to acid inactivation were selected to study the molecular basis of viral resistance to acid-induced disassembly and improve the acid stability of FMDV. Sequencing of capsid-coding regions revealed four amino acid replacements(VP1 N17D, VP2 H145Y, VP2 G192D, and VP3 K153E) in the viral population of the acid-selected 10th passage. 15Facile fabrication of a biocompatible composite gel with sustained release of aspirin for bone regeneration显示文摘Hydrogels are extracellular-matrix-like biomimetic materials that have wide biomedical applications in tissue engineering and drug delivery.However,most hydrogels cannot simultaneously fulfill the mechanical and cell compatibility requirements.In the present study,we prepared a semi-interpenetrating network composite gel(CG)by incorporating short chain chitosan(CS)into a covalent tetra-armed poly(ethylene glycol)network.In addition to satisfying physicochemical,mechanics,biocompatibility,and cell affinity requirements,this CG easily encapsulated acetylsalicylic acid(ASA)via electrostatic interactions and chain entanglement,achieving sustained release for over 14 days and thus promoting periodontal ligament stem cell(PDLSC)proliferation and osteogenic differentiation.In vivo studies corroborated the capacity of PDLSCs and ASA-laden CG to enhance new bone regeneration in situ using a mouse calvarial bone defect model.This might be attributed to PDLSCs and host mesenchymal stem cells expressing monocyte chemoattractant protein-1,which upregulated M2 macrophage recruitment and polarization in situ,indicating its appealing potential in bone tissue engineering.Yunfan Zhang Xueyu Dou Lingyun Zhang Hufei Wang Ting Zhang Rushui Bai Qiannan Sun Xing Wang Tingting Yu Decheng Wu Bing Han Xuliang Deng 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,5:2
16Multifunctional microcapsules:A theranostic agent for US/MR/PAT multi-modality imaging and synergistic chemo-photothermal osteosarcoma therapy显示文摘Development of versatile theranostic agents that simultaneously integrate therapeutic and diagnostic features remains a clinical urgent.Herein,we aimed to prepare uniform PEGylated(lactic-co-glycolic acid)(PLGA)microcapsules(PB@(Fe_(3)O_(4)@PEG-PLGA)MCs)with superparamagnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles embedded in the shell and Prussian blue(PB)NPs inbuilt in the cavity via a premix membrane emulsification(PME)method.On account of the eligible geometry and multiple load capacity,these MCs could be used as efficient multi-modality contrast agents to simultaneously enhance the contrasts of US,MR and PAT imaging.In-built PB NPs furnished the MCs with excellent photothermal conversion property and embedded Fe_(3)O_(4)NPs endowed the magnetic location for fabrication of targeted drug delivery system.Notably,after further in-situ encapsulation of antitumor drug of DOX,(PB+DOX)@(Fe_(3)O_(4)@PEG-PLGA)MCs possessed more unique advantages on achieving near infrared(NIR)-responsive drug delivery and magnetic-guided chemo-photothermal synergistic osteosarcoma therapy.In vitro and in vivo studies revealed these biocompatible(PB+DOX)@(Fe_(3)O_(4)@PEG-PLGA)MCs could effectively target to the tumor tissue with superior therapeutic effect against the invasion of osteosarcoma and alleviation of osteolytic lesions,which will be developed as a smart platform integrating multi-modality imaging capabilities and synergistic effect with high therapy efficacy.Hufei Wang Sijia Xu Daoyang Fan Xiaowen Geng Guang Zhi Decheng Wu Hong Shen Fei Yang Xiao Zhou Xing Wang 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,1:2
17Expression Profile and Function Analysis of Long Non-coding RNAs in the Infection of Coxsackievirus B3显示文摘The roles of IncRNAs in the infection of enteroviruses have been barely demonstrated.In this study,we used coxsackievirus B3(CVB3),a typical enterovirus,as a model to investigate the expression profiles and functional roles of IncRNAs in enterovirus infection.We profiled IncRNAs and mRNA expression in CVB3-infected HeLa cells by IncRNA-mRNA integrated microarrays.As a result,700 differentially expressed IncRNAs(431 up-regulated and 269 down-regulated)and 665 differentially expressed mRNAs(299 up-regulated and 366 down-regulated)were identified in CVB3 infection.Then we performed IncRNA-mRNA integrated pathway analysis to identify potential functional impacts of the differentially expressed mRNAs,in which IncRNA-mRNA correlation network was built.According to IncRNA-mRNA correlation,we found that XLOC-001188,an IncRNA down-regulated in CVB3 infection,was negatively correlated with NFAT5 mRNA,an anti-CVB3 gene reported previously.This interaction was supported by qPCR detection following siRNA-mediated knockdown of XLOC-001188,which showed an increase of NFAT5 mRNA and a reduction of CVB3 genomic RNA.In addition,we observed that four most significantly altered IncRNAs,SNHG11,RP11-145F16.2,RP11-1023L17.1 and RP11-1021N1.2 share several common correlated genes critical for CVB3 infection,such as BRE and IRF2BP1.In all,our studies reveal the alteration of IncRNA expression in CVB3 infection and its potential influence on CVB3 replication,providing useful information for future studies of enterovirus infection.Lei Tong Ye Qiu Hui Wang Yunyue Qu Yuanbo Zhao Lexun Lin Yan Wang Weizhen Xu Wenran Zhao Hongyan He Guangze Zhao Mary HZhang Decheng Yang Xingyi Ge Zhaohua Zhong 2019Virologica Sinica2019,34,6:2
18An ultrathin and continuous Li_4Ti_5O_(12) coated carbon nanofiber interlayer for high rate lithium sulfur battery显示文摘Severe capacity fading and poor high rate performance of lithium sulfur(Li–S) battery caused by 'shuttle effect' and low conductivity of sulfur hampers its further developments and applications. Li_4Ti_5O_(12) (LTO)possesses high lithium ion conductivity, and it is also can be used as an active adsorbent for polysulfide. Herein, fine LTO particle coated carbon nanofibers(CNF) were prepared and a conductive network both for electron and lithium ion was built, which can greatly promote the electrochemical conversion of polysulfide and improve the rate performance of Li–S batteries. Meanwhile, a quantity of adsorption sites is constructed by defects of the surface of LTO-CNF membrane to effectively immobilize polysulfide. The multifunctional LTO-CNF interlayer could impede the shuttle effect and enhance comprehensive electrochemical performance of Li–S batteries, especially high rate performance. With such LTO-CNF interlayer,the Li–S battery presents a specific capacity of 641.9 mAh/g at 5 C rate. After 400 cycles at 1 C, a capacity of 618.0 mAh/g is retained. 19I-Neat:An Intelligent Framework for Adaptive Virtual Machine Consolidation显示文摘With the increasing use of cloud computing,high energy consumption has become one of the major challenges in cloud data centers.Virtual Machine(VM)consolidation has been proven to be an efficient way to optimize energy consumption in data centers,and many research works have proposed to optimize VM consolidation.However,the performance of different algorithms is related with the characteristics of the workload and system status;some algorithms are suitable for Central Processing Unit(CPU)-intensive workload and some for web application workload.Therefore,an adaptive VM consolidation framework is necessary to fully explore the potential of these algorithms.Neat is an open-source dynamic VM consolidation framework,which is well integrated into OpenStack.However,it cannot conduct dynamic algorithm scheduling,and VM consolidation algorithms in Neat are few and basic,which results in low performance for energy saving and Service-Level Agreement(SLA)avoidance.In this paper,an Intelligent Neat framework(I-Neat)is proposed,which adds an intelligent scheduler using reinforcement learning and a framework manager to improve the usability of the system.The scheduler can select appropriate algorithms for the local manager from an algorithm library with many load detection algorithms.The algorithm library is designed based on a template,and in addition to the algorithms of Neat,I-Neat adds six new algorithms to the algorithm library.Furthermore,the framework manager helps users add self-defined algorithms to I-Neat without modifying the source code.Our experimental results indicate that the intelligent scheduler and these novel algorithms can effectively reduce energy consumption with SLA assurance.Yanxin Liu Yao Zhao Jian Dong Lianpeng Li Chunpei Wang Decheng Zuo 2022Tsinghua Science and Technology2022,27,1:2
